We loved Porto. The highlight of our visit was our time with Jose. He brought us to places that we would never have seen. He told us many things about the city and the country that led to our love of Portugal and its people. We had a tour after our visit with Jose that was part of a 5 star river cruise. It didn't come near what we experienced with Jose. If you do one thing while you are in Porto, make sure that you go on the Tour with Jose! We loved the photos that he took of us during our tour. They made the experience even more memorable.

Jose took me on two full-day tours - one around Porto and another throughout the Douro Valley. Jose's knowledge of the areas and their history combined with his photographer's eye for quality imagery made these tours memorable. What a wonderful experience we had with Jose on this photo walk. Jose is a truly charming guy, with great knowledge of the city. We saw some wonderful views that we simply wouldn't have found on our own, and also got some advice on technique too! Jose is an extremely talented photo teacher and tour guide. He knows all the best spots in Porto for photography, and where to stand to get the best shot. His main focus is composition, but he's also quick to answer questions about the technical details. The portraits he made of me during the tour were a lovely surprise — none of my other photo tours have provided those — and very educational in terms of composition and editing techniques I can experiment with in the future. José's English is great, and he's happy to keep in touch after the tour to answer questions and provide suggestions and mentorship. We had a really amazing experience with Jose! He is a very personable guide who knows a lot about the area and it's history. Not only did he take some super great photos, he also took us to little known places in the city that we would have otherwise missed! He also shared some great secrets to taking good photos. We spent a wonderful morning with Jose Manuel on this tour. It was absolutely fantastic. It was a lot of fun to explore Porto together and to hit upon so many highlights of the city — including not only the major tourist spots, but also Jose Manuel’s hidden gems. There were so many beautiful vistas, charming vignettes, and picturesque glimpses (e.g., church towers framed ‘just so’ by a narrow road/alleyway) to see. Many of these (especially the glimpses) are of the know-them-or-miss-them variety, and Jose Manuel (born and bred in Porto) knows them all! In addition to the photography, Jose Manuel serves as a wonderful tour guide. I am personally not much of a photographer (that is my partner’s department), and so I was more curious about what we were seeing and learning more about the history of Porto and Portugal. Jose Manuel was very knowledgeable and very willing to take the time to answer my questions. It made the experience that much more special. Finally, it wasn’t just us taking pictures. Jose Manuel took pictures of us (more professionally than we could have done ourselves) and sent us a curated collection afterward — so that we now have some wonderful memories. I highly recommend this experience to anyone who visits Porto. It is very special.

Highly Recommended! In June of this year (2022), l made a spontaneous 3 days trip to Porto mainly to explore the city and make some photos (Usually street and architecture photos). Just few days before arriving in Porto (From Boston, USA), I made a slight changed to my plan. Instead of spend all 3 days photographing in the city, I want to spend 1 day away in Duoro Valley. I had to quickly workout the logistics to optimized my day trip to Duoro Valleys. Through online search I found Pictury Photo Tours which offer photowalk in Porto and tours to Duoro. Their website have a section to contact them and I did. Within 48 hrs José and I connected by email and the trip detail was in place. José asked for my hotel information and suggest a place to meet for the drive to Duoro. On the day of the trip José drove us to several spots with great opportunities for photos, but also throughout out the day we stoped when we noticed photo opportunities. José was great on sharing information about the geography and agriculture development in the region which lead to Duoro Valleys being designated UNESCO World Heritage site. Because our trip was in June and in middle of the day, I didn’t return home with huge amount of exhibit quality photos, but the trip with José exceed my expectation and I now have more information to prepare me for next return trip to Porto and Duoro region. I now keep thinking when I might contact José again for my next adventure in Porto and Duoro Valleys

He tries to make your stay in Porto a special and memorable one and I can say: 100% success! I had a great afternoon with José, time flew by, I got lost in the beautiful city with its well known and especially hidden places, with its mood, its stunning views and also the people. José is a wonderful guide who knows a lot of Porto, the history, culture and art. José makes it pretty easy to trust him and his photography skills. He is always very friendly, polite and attentive. His colorful pictures are great and bringing back a little bit or Porto into my grey everyday life.
