Holy cow, such a beautiful view. Very strong seas breaking onto the dried lava. Could have stayed here forever watching the sea. Be advised, the waves seem pretty intense here so don’t get too close to the water.

Just beautiful! Look for the single palm tree at the top of the little island just a little ways out! There were crazy surfers in these wild and rocky waters! Some locals were selling their macadamia crunch and arts and crafts wear there too.

Just as magical as the rest of the area! Get yourself a peice of banana bread from down the road and come eat it enjoying the views! The ocean view has partially the lava rocks creating mesmerizing splashes and there quite a few trees to enjoys the shade of! There are bathrooms and while they do not have soap they are usable! Cleanness: clean- but area did not look super maintained Parking: plentiful Cost: free Access: not the greatest road but anything with more clearance than a lowrider can handle it for sure! Bathroom: available has no soap, has running water Amenities: some picnic tables

This was the first stop on our Road to Hana Tour with Hawaiian Style. It was a brief stop, but we loved the views. We were able to see the unique coastline and beautiful 'a'a volcanic rock. The waves were beautiful and wonderful to listen to.

Definitely worth a quick stop off the Road to Hana - beautiful black sand beach views! Public restrooms are available and don't forget to pick up banana bread! 9/10

This is a beautiful place to stop on the road to Hana. If you need a break from driving and want to stretch your legs. There is a snack stand here with the famous banana bread and other snacks and drinks. It was closed when we went, maybe because it was Sunday. There is also an old church with interesting history. Locals live on the road so be polite and stay off their property!

Flat viewing area of the lava outcropping and strong waves breaking. A couple tourists hopped out between the rocks to get splashed. We stayed on shore, fatalities have occurred. Gorgeous views, the color of the water is worth the stop.

Amazing coastal area. Roads are difficult to manage to get here, but we’ll worth it if you take your time with caution. Unfortunately we arrived when businesses were closed so we didn’t get any banana bread, but we’ll worth the stop. We had purchased a road to Hana guided tour so was interesting to hear the history of this area. Amazing place to see the coast and get some pics.
