The staff make this an absolutely fantastic hotel to visit. They are so friendly and helpful. I shall miss Oralys's enthusiasm at the beach bar. Whilst not required, I would recommend bringing single dollar bills for regular tipping - you'll hopefully agree that they deserve this. The food is delicious and varied. It is Cuba, so it isn't gourmet food every night, and maybe occasionally they'll run a little low on a couple of foodstuffs. If you cannot find food that you enjoy here, then you are likely to be the problem, rather than the restaurant. You can also eat at other restaurants, for some variety. The Cuban restaurant on the beach is an amazing spot to eat and watch the sunset. The gourmet restaurant doesn't have the views, but the food is sensational - the steak is a must. Drinks were always available, with the 24 hour lobby bar being very welcome. There's also the sports bar, pool bar, beach bar and piano bar! Cocktails were a slightly mixed bag, but you'll always find something that you like out of a very wide selection of drinks. Due to a need to protect the pool and beach areas, there is quite a lot of reliance upon small disposable plastic cups instead of glass. I would recommend taking along your own sturdy plastic/metal cup, so that staff can instead fill this for you. The dive centre is relaxed but really helpful and friendly, much appreciation goes to Lamay and Andres. They catered to us very well, accounting for the fact that the two of us were highly experienced and appreciated longer shore dives. The water sports centre are also helpful. I recommend going to see them on the beach shortly after arriving, to book in a slot for a complimentary catamaran ride. The room was basic but large. It was fully furnished, and the AC did work (if a touch noisily). The cleaners come daily and are very thorough. WiFi is unfortunately unreliable and complex. I believe that this is common for Cuba. The WiFi only worked up at the lobby during our stay, and was generally very slow. You require codes to log in, which will expire. Reception are helpful and will provide new codes, but iPhone users seem to need to input the lengthy code every time that they disconnect. It certainly felt very old school. I can't say that much about the optional activities, since I did not partake in all. I went on the hike up the hill, which is absolutely worthwhile for getting a view of the resort and its reef. We also did rum tasting, although we were slightly disappointed that there was only one type of rum to try. One small piece of feedback that I would give to the hotel is that a welcome manual may be useful for new guests. We stayed 11 nights, and feel that we had the place figured out eventually, but it was a bit disorientating to start. There is a risk of missing out on great things such as the complimentary restaurant upgrades, the free catamaran trips, the not very obviously located piano bar, the complimentary food available at the beach and sports bars throughout the day, etc. Getting a burger on the beach was a great alternative to the full lunch buffet.

Beautiful location, sandy beach and clean. Although slightly dated my sister & I had a wonderful vacation here. I feel it’s more suited for the mature retired group… but I’ve seen groups in their 20’s enjoying themselves too. It is a quiet resort where you can relax without a-lot of commercial entertainment and loud music. The food was for the most part good. People have to remember what’s available in Cuba… it’s gourmet to the residents of Cuba. They are proud to have you visit them and equally proud to please you with their food and lifestyle. We’ve noticed a lot of returning guests which speaks for itself. The entertainment each night is amazing! As well as the mini entertainment they do in the lobby and at the 3 restaurants they have. I will say my favourite restaurant is the Italian one, then the Cuban one and the international restaurant was fine… Our rooms were typical Cuban coloured rooms… that are a bit dated but we seen many employees updating some blocks and maintaining areas that needed attention. Although the red flag was up quite a bit indicating beware of jelly fish we did enjoy swimming in the ocean and the pool. I did love the fact I could find shady areas to park my butt and read with the sound of the waves and breeze coming off the ocean. Never seemed like there was a shortage of lounge chairs. FYI- don’t tip with loonies or too is as they cannot exchange our coins at their banks. Beach bartering happens - they are looking for clothes and shoes… so bring your unwanted clothes to give to them. I found the people in Cuban so fun, loving and thankful for anything and seeing their lifestyle in Havana… I can understand why they rely on tipping, gifts etc… ❤️

Good food. Friendly staff. Great snorkeling (bring your own equipment). Located in a quiet rural area that's safe to wander in. No a great place to party, shop but great for relaxing, swimming and walking.

Beautiful location, nestled between amazing scenery. Beach is fantastic and great for snorkelling. Do your research before holidaying in Cuba, you are never going to get luxury accommodation or top quality food, but what you will get is charm by the bucket load, and lovely friendly people who are desperate to please. Memories is a very relaxed adult only resort with something for everyone. Only complaint i can make, is the pool is not deep enough, the water gets very warm.

Was my favorite resort of the 4 times I have been to Cuba. Best food. Seafood grill at buffet restaurant was awesome the cook grilling it was a miserable jerk but hey fresh seafood was great. The al carts were good dined at the gourmet and Cuban. Very clean rooms, great staff so helpful. Reef just off the beach so if your into snorkeling this is the place. Lots of colorful fish. Someone saw an octopus and a blowfish. Easy to find a beach chair and place in shade. Nice long beach to walk on. Piano bar is lots of fun and nightly entertainment was great. Adults only so a bit more quiet but I liked it. Went to the spa for a massage it was very good, nice atmosphere , very well looked after. The lady from Sunwing her name I think was Melina was the best. She was so helpful and informative. If we has questions or concerns she was right on track helping us out. She was a real gem. I would definitely go back.

The resort is beautiful, the landscape/seascape divine, some of the decor is a bit dated. Clean and fit for purpose but a bit shabby in places. The staff were all fantastic, friendly and helpful. After about 2am the staff were minimal and there was very little choice of food available (toasties or just sandwiches). We didn't upgrade to diamond and this limited any access to certain types of alcohol which was a bit frustrating. The entertainment staff were absolutely brilliant and there was plenty to do around the resort particularly if you like snorkeling and other water sports. Taking a snorkel and mask is absolutely worthwhile as they can be hard to get once out there, although the hotel does have a limited stock for loan. The menus in the restaurants are nice but extremely limited by choices, however the hotel buffet was absolutely fine to get sufficient amounts of food be it something familiar or something from the local cuisine or pizza! There were no snacks or junk-food available out with the hotel eateries (no crisps/chips, chocolate, nuts, vending machines etc). The room was comfy and spacious and cleaned every day. The setting is absolutely idyllic and there is plenty to do around the Matanzas province nearby. We visited Havana twice and it takes about an hour by Taxi-car. We would definitely go back. Take lots of smaller notes £$1/5/10 as getting change can sometimes be difficult and tips are a big thing.

Great hotel for Cuba. It has good reputation among locals too. Guests are mostly from Canada, England, Germany, France and Cuba. Staff is helpful and very polite even if you are not going to tip them. You feel pretty safe and comfortable there. There are a lot of free activities everyday such as tennis, Spanish classes, salsa classes, hiking, pool gymnastics, pool bingo, beach parties, volleyball, etc. Free internet in the lobby and free bottle of water in a room. Had no problem with a/c, electricity or hot water. Currency exchange is in the lobby. Food is better than in other Cuban hotels. Free gym next to the beach. Beach looks nice, but may have rocks. So it's a good idea to take water shoes. Reasonable number of beach chairs. Shore is protected from big waves and sharks. Didn't see jellyfish. You can buy different tours to Havana and other activities in the hotel. Some souvenir shops and spa in the hotel. The hotel is doing its best to provide the guests with everything they may need despite being hit by pandemic restrictions for traveling: towels, sheets, bathtub, etc can be oldish. But now it can be challenging to find better in Cuba due to embargo, pandemic and 300% inflation in Cuba. You can use all facilities for free (including food) if you have a late flight and check out earlier. You can leave your bags next to the reception for free. Transfer was in time.

First time in Cuba. Loved that this was a smaller resort, adults only and more like seniors only...lol. Highly recommend the Diamond club for more eating options (we had some dietary restrictions which made the buffets difficult). The fish and pork was always very good and nicely flavoured! Evening shows great, pool nice with lots of loungers always available, beach nice but not great for swimming especially due to Jellyfish which are abundant in December and January. (We were both stung snorkelling). We were confused as to how best to tip the staff...we were scammed into exchanging $Can. to Cuban pesos. As with other reviews...only $US seem to be wanted. Lots of great staff but we were left with the impression that we did something wrong or offended some....not sure why the inconsistency....I do understand how difficult life is for Cubans and my heart goes out to them. Amazing day trip to Havana with Giselle (organized by Jenny from Diamond Club). Room was very comfortable and always clean! Thank you to all staff.

Beautiful location in a montainous area of northeastern Cuba. The resort had lovely landscaping with palm trees and flowering shrubs. The beach was well-maintained with easy access to an offshore coral reef where one can see hundreds of species of tropical fish. The food, in both the main buffet restaurant and in the three speciality restaurants, was quite good. The rooms were spacious and clean and well air-conditioned. The staff were all very cheerful and helpful. The nightly enterainment was of a high calibre. The resort is only an hours drive to Havana and a half hour to Matanzas and both cities are worth exploring. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this resort to my friends.

The best holiday ever. Staff are great. The country is beautiful. The people so strong and resilient and friendly. The resort a little tired here and there but still really really nice. Food very good. Havana is lovely. I could go on and on. Back next year!

Lovely resort. Not too big, not too small. We liked the buffet better than the a la carte restaurants. Staff was wonderful. Al at the front desk was amazingly helpful. Definitely go to the local caves and Cenote. Be careful though. We spent $124 Canadian on lunch. It was fantastic and there was lots of food but it was very expensive for lunch. Bring your own lunch/snacks from the breakfast buffet. Bring baggies/containers. Very enjoyable trip.

Great location. Staff are very friendly. Rooms are at best tired but also quite dirty. Food was awful. Still suffering with the upset stomach from the lack of hygiene. Stomach upsets are rife amongst guests. Buffet restaurant has cats birds and flies around the food.

The beach was amazing: quiet, private with great snorkeling right there. The pool was also lovely. Everything was clean, and the food was very good with great variety. We liked the various special restaurants and the few extra activities, like tennis. The live entertainment was excellent nightly in the lounges and restaurants, as were the evening shows. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Also there were a variety of good outings to choose from. We went on the full day to Matanzas with Machine as our guide. It was a great day. We had a lovely vacation and are thinking of going back next year.

Stayed here for a few days at the end of our 15day trip. Beautiful setting with great service. Nice buffet food in the main restaurant. There are 2 other restaurants that you can eat in included but have to reserve. We found it hard to book as the restaurants seemed to be all pre booked up. One thing I couldn’t get over was the feeling of guilt staying here. Life for Cubans is not easy. There remains US sanctions and there is rationing with ration cards issued to all Cubans. The huge variety of products we can buy in eg supermarkets is not accessible to the people of Cuba. And yet… here in this hotel the food is just flowing. What must the Cubans who work here think of us and our greed? If you’re staying here please take time to understand what life is like outside the compound.

Great place to unwind and relax. Have been here many times over the years. Food is good for Cuba standards. Great snorkeling and scuba diving. My only complaint is over the years they changed from a Breezes to Memories, since then, quality of food has declined and everything that was part of your all inclusive you must now pay extra for such as scuba, lobster dinner. Definitely not a party resort. Resort staff are amazing!

Great location, beautiful well kept place too..We know this is Cuba! We have been here many times..but if you want hot food? The hottest thing you will find is the chef's omelet cooked to order at breakfast time.. everything else is at best only tepid..And in the lobby bar which is 24hr service you would be lucky to get a glass..so it's plastic disposable beakers, even early evening when there are few people in the place, also on more than one occasion they ran out of coke, orange juice and tonic water..2 weeks was plenty for us here and would not return to this place again..

We came to this hotel with TUI. Only 1 hour away from Havana and you can find taxi quite easily. Also there are some good guided tours to Havana as well. Its an all inclusive and food is good. Try the fish at the bar restaurant during lunch. If you are fansy for loopsters they can bring you from a local restaurant. Dont go to the theme alacart restaurant, they are horrible. Bring a reusable drink cup, they only serving drinks with plastic cups which very bad for an island country.

(Translated by Google) Excellent place! Excellent atention! Adults only, if you want to spend a quiet moment, it is definitely the option. As with a piano bar, club, just in front of a reef, there are various activities. The only thing that would improve would be the food and a little renovation of the facilities, from there on, very good !! (Original) Excelente lugar! Muy buena atención! It's hard to describe this hotel. You need to be there and try everything that has in there. I love everything and everyone's hard-working stuff, they will bring you a lot of new things in your life. Do I plan to return? With confidence I will say yes and it will be in November of this year 2023. Thank you Kenya Blanco, you give me a shance walking again, without pain in my leg.

Great location and staff. Rooms in need of update but does not distract from enjoyment. My room overlooked the sea and had all the usual facilities, aircon worked well cleaned daily with towel changes when required. Choice of several restaurants when booked food availability at all restaurants. The snorkeling is great plus other activities available. One bar is open 24hours and the service is first class. Occasionally there were shortages but were rectified as soon as possible If I had to give any criticism and this would be constructivse, is that breakfast cooking of eggs and bacon should start before opening, the waiting line was always too long. On a personal note I would ask management to fix the coffee machine at the beach bar. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort and am likely to book again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Memories Jibacoa and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations in every way possible! From the moment I arrived, I was greeted with warm smiles and exceptional hospitality. The staff went above and beyond to make me feel welcome and attended to every need with genuine care and efficiency. The resort itself is a slice of paradise. Nestled along the stunning coastline, the views were absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to the sound of waves crashing and the gentle sea breeze was nothing short of magical. The accommodations were impeccable - clean, comfortable, and beautifully decorated. The attention to detail in the room design and amenities truly showcased the dedication to guest satisfaction. The dining experience was nothing short of extraordinary. The variety of cuisines offered, from exquisite local flavors to international delicacies, left my taste buds in absolute delight. Each meal was a culinary adventure, and the presentation was top-notch. The activities and entertainment options provided a perfect balance of relaxation and adventure. Whether it was lounging by the pool with a refreshing drink or exploring the rich culture of the area, there was never a dull moment. What truly sets Memories Jibacoa apart, however, is the genuine sense of community and camaraderie among guests and staff alike. It felt like a home away from home, where friendships were formed and memories were created. I cannot recommend Memories Jibacoa enough. It's not just a hotel; it's an experience that will stay with me forever. I can't wait to return and relive these unforgettable moments. Thank you, Memories Jibacoa, for an absolutely incredible stay!

Love this resort, even first time visit to this island. Rooms were kept clean and tidy, after an issue with our original room we were offered with free upgrade. Restaurants were fine, great selection in the buffet. Good service with beach towels, spa and scuba diving. Very friendly and helpful staff everywhere.

I can safely say this is a resort we will come back to. This resort is showing it's age but it is well cared for and the staff is first rate. Loved the entertainment, Yani, Yendri and Carlos are great people and work very hard to keep you entertained. Nightly shows were very good, lobby entertainment was also very good. Shoutout to Hector at the Mojito bar for his excellent Mojitos and shoutout to Marysledis at the front desk for encouraging me to use all the 5 Spanish words I know. The buffet here isn't great but isn't bad although we found the desserts amazing! The specialty restaurants are very good. This resort is worth the trip!! You really want to snorkel here!! See you all next year!

Most of the staff are kind and helpful. The room is musky but the bed is comfy. Breakfast is great with fair amount to choose from. Lunch 4-5 options to choose from every day is the same. Also the dinner options are the same every day. To book other restaurant is difficult. Do not drink cappuccino here as they do not change the coffee in the machine just use it all over again. Most of the juices taste like water and don’t look as expected for the actual drink. The beach is not very pleasant as the sand is rocky and messy. Pool is unbearably cold, jacuzzis are not working. All fairness I must admit I was expecting more after reading previous feedbacks, so I thought I would share my opinion so that other people would not get disappointed.

FANTASTIC Location - nestled between forested hills and the ocean, with beautifully kept grounds...I mean seriously gorgeous. The view from our sea view room was amazing. Unusually / wonderfully you can see both sunrise and sunset from the beach (although this was in August, it'll obviously slightly change through the seasons). An Instagrammer's dream. Sun loungers - always lots available at the pool and beach, no need to ever get up at 5 a.m. to reserve like in Europe. Evening entertainment - hit and miss but some fabulous acts. We particularly enjoyed the singalong guitarist - catch him in the piano bar from 2100. The atmosphere - generally chill, peaceful and relaxed. The resort seems to attract lots of friendly guests, everyone chats and gets along nicely. 'Adults only' is also helpful to the creation of peace. ACCEPTABLE Rooms - both our rooms were constantly very damp (not unusual in the tropics) but VERY damp. Everything from bedding to clothing just smelled but the sea view from our balcony and our comfortable bed kinda made up for it. Service - hit and miss. Some staff were attentive and friendly (like Marcos) whilst others were rude and/or make you uncomfortable with their unwanted advances and/or stories of personal poverty (I get it, I've lived in multiple LEDCs for many years, but there's only so much I can do, I already tip generously). Food - acceptable, you are after all visiting an LEDC. There are a few 'bookable' restaurants too which are good. For the best steak book into Gourmet. For the best lobster book into the beach bar (surcharge for lobster). Avoid the soulless, tasteless Italian. POOR Buffet (main) restaurant - You're not allowed to serve yourself in the restaurant - fine - but then staff it appropriately so we aren't waiting at every counter and eating cold food by the time we reach our table. Advertising prices in Peso (lobster 400 Peso which at the hotels bureau's own rate is £3) but forcing you to pay on your credit card at the national exchange rate meaning it cost us £16. Havana 1 day bus tour - don't do it! It costs $102 for 2 people when you can hire a classic car for the day to take you in, around and back for $100 (excl. tip). Thankfully we stayed in Havana for 3 days, had we only had the coach trip I would have died a little inside. OVERALL Overall the good outweighed the bad but it could so easily be fantastic. Despite this, I'd return again happily. Don't forget to take your own insulated cups / mugs to save using the tiny, disposable plastic things they give you everywhere.

A nice Hotel, with very helpful and polite staff. The lobby bar is open 24 hours. There are three restaurants, and the main eating area where breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. A nice swimming pool which isn't very deep, but enought to swim or cool down. There is also a disco, and an outside stage, which has regular shows. Upstairs is the piano bar, which was my favourite place, it has air conditioning, it's best to get in there earlier to secure a seat, as it's so popular. A large piano shaped table with bar stools around, as well as tables and comfy chairs. The guitarist at the hotel makes the night, Brilliant!!

Lovely hotel and setting. Rooms look a little dated but the beds are comfy and it's very clean. Nice selection of drinks and the food was okay. Staff are there to serve you food from the buffet which confused a few people I think 🤔. Scuba Diving here is an absolute must! And the entertainment team are really great. I really enjoyed my time at this hotel. The only negative from me is the stray dog situation. There are a few dogs around the hotel, and there are puppies. There was a bit of howling and some protection going on if you happened to walk near any pups (hiding in pipes). It wasn't enough to put me off, but a friend I was traveling with really dislikes dogs, and so it was a bit off-putting for her.

I spent about a week here. The beach is very beautiful, the food is great! Staff is nice! Since the resort is isolated from attractions, it can get boring if you don’t intend to go on the excursions or self-tour. I found it was best to rent a cab, the driver will take you to your destination and wait for you, I recommend doing the cab with a tour guide if you go into Havana. Not a lot of young people at this resort. 24/7 drinks are great! Some of the entertainment and shows can be a little repetitive for some people. If you are looking for a place to lounge and sunbathe then I recommend this place for you!

The first room we were given was very rustic the bath had a rusty hole in the top corner,we were given a new room number 2182 which had been refurbished very modern with a wonderful head board that changed colors although we had no control of it so it changed colors constantly . The air conditioner only worked on full and to switch it off you had to go into the fuse box and flip the mcb. The view from the room looked out over the ocean was great. The maid was very good as was the vast majority of the staff. The Tui reps were very helpful. This hotel is a bit tired. Activities during the day were very lacking, the shows at night were pretty good. The social bar was great bar man was very good the piano player was good ,but the guitar man was superb, The reef was not the best I've ever dived on and the beach is not the best with no were to walk of interest. If you like to go to a hotel that is quiet and don't like to explore this is for you ,If you like to explore it's not ,trips out tend to cost 20 dollars extra for the coach to Veridero all prices are in dollars and in a lot of cases they treat the pound as a dollar. Since the Government has scrapped the cuc the prices have gone sky high ,eg a cheap bottle of cola that would cost less than 60p in the UK cost 3 us dollars in the hotel eating out in Cuba is now very expensive. I've been to Cuba 12 time love the place and the people alas I won't be going back.

What a beautiful place, a great setting with a huge pool, amazing beach with snorkelling and bar and views. Helpful staff and reps, the restaurants are good and the speciality venues are well worth the visit. Say "Hi" to Leissam at the pool burger bar, a really nice guy.

Been going for 15 years, 24 visits, GREAT staff, people. Great value. Food is good, you won't starve, but you will grumble if you EXPECT Mexico, DR 5 Star American cuisine. Please go ELSEWHERE if that is you!

Worst place with a great location, 1 hour drive to Havana and Varadero, and nice beach area. But very Old resort, with tasteless and awful food and no variety. everyday same buffet. I have seen cats, birds and flies inside the buffet area. Staff in buffet area is not taking care of good hygiene and not welcoming. Staff can't understand and speak English properly. Drinks are in scarce and no fruit juices... are you kidding me?.. Rooms have dirty sheets and pillows. I have seen lizard inside the room. I don't recommend this resort at all. It's a waste of money , time and energy, and 99% of people visiting here are seniors/ old and retired.. no Energy at this place and entertainment is so bald. Every worker want American dollars as a tip and their faces are like dollar hungry. We bought high end package (Diamond Club) through Sunwing and we got a dirty romm #1120. We felt like its haunted and we were not able to sleep for two nights, then we requested to change it. There were two wild dogs having dens living beside that room and kept on barking day and night and one night when we came back from Havana they almost attacked us. Cuba has considerably changed and its not as it was before pandemic. There is too much poverty in Cuba, And since they have removed CUC currency everyone is hungry for USD. Just a one-way trip to Havana from this resort is $60 USD...its ridiculous.. I don't understand how people are giving This resort high rating.... for what? I guess they haven't visited best resorts in Cuba yet. I have been visiting Cuba Since 2005. In short, don't waste your money In Cuba now, and in this particular resort.... NO WAY. Go somewhere else in Caribbean.

We have been staying at this resort for many years and we can't get enough of it. We have pets and get extremely home sick when we're away, but the cats & dogs popping in and out of the resort are one of many reasons we continue to stay there. The Sunwing Rep Mirena, the overall service, accommodations, activities, location, vibe & food make this our favorite vacation spot. It feels like our second home.

The staff is so friendly and accommodating. The food was good and they had enough options. Because this is Cuba, there are times when they run out of some things. But they are doing the best they can. Be safe and take a Doctor recommended Anti Diarrhea medication, before you travel. We forgot, and 3 out of the 4 of us, ended up with it. We took a roll of toilet paper just to be safe, and ended up using some of it.

Beautiful setting, one of the nicest and well kept hotels we’ve been to in Cuba. We lucked out with a renovated oceanfront room so were very pleased, however the older rooms looked very tired and in need of help. This is the first hotel we’ve been to that has genuine oceanfront rooms… your literally a few hundred feet from the beach! Staff are very pleasant however food is subpar for the cost of the hotel. Food selection and availability of items is limited but not sure if thats due to Cubas current situation or the hotel chain itself. We did expect better in terms of food for the higher price paid to stay here. Beach is rocky but great snorkeling and tons of chairs and palapas available. Overall a very nice resort and would return if could get for prices closer to those of other 4 star resorts. We been all over Cuba staying at many resorts, Memories Jibacoa tops it for quiet location, cleanliness, and great customer service, but falls short in the culinary department. Highly Recommend here for a relaxing vacation, just keep an open mind and expectations lower with regards to food.

Große einfache SEHR saubere Zimmer u. Bäder, teils renovierungsbedürftig. Föhn, Kühlschrank u. Kapselmaschine insuffizient. Sehr gute Matratzen, ruhig, gute AC. Wunderschöne Anlage in direkter Strandlage. Blitzsauber, Speisen u Buffets f. kubanische Verhältnisse tadellos ( vieles muss importiert werden). Dezente Animation, Publikum eher älter, viele Stammgäste. Strand sehr schön, sauber.

Food was better than anticipated. But we did bring our own pepper, coffee creamer, and ketchup. This really help with meals. The rooms are dated but this is common for Cuba. Very clean and the service was superior. For excursions see JESUS at the towel exchange at the beach. He can connect you with local English speaking guides for a fraction of the price the tour companies like Sunwing offer. We did two and were safe and saw a lot of interesting spots.

Memories Jibacoa is about an hour out of Havana. on the north coast. The resort is for adults only. There is a family hotel next door. The common areas are clean and bright. The rooms are looking a bit aged, but that's okay. It's Cuba. To quote Leonard Cohen, "There is a crack in everything. That's how the light gets in." Leonard would have liked it here. There is a laid-back ambiance of quiet elegance. Very few older men are here with their "grand daughters. The ocean was bath water warm and there was snorkeling right off the beach. The food for our 10-day stay was excellent.Although the buffet did offer pretty much the same dishes everyday, there was such a variety we didn't have to eat the same thing twice. There are also two ala carte restaurants you may reserve during your stay. My only complaint would be 'The Diamond Club'. For $30 a day, per person you could dine in your own area and have exclusive beach access. I'm sure Fidel would have objected. ACCESSIBILITY: Those who cannot climb steps are limited to main floor accommodation. Ramps are infrequent and not to code. There are many trip hazards (this is nothing, compared to Havana). There is a high step-over to get in the shower and a make-shift bidet next to the toilet. The sand at the beach is soft and may be difficult for people with balance issues.

Awful place. Totally lacking in charm. Felt like a bad version of butlins. Having travelled round Cuba and meeting the people there who are so vibrant and kind, the staff there (with the odd notable exception) felt like dead eyed McDonald's employees who could barely contain their disdain for the customers. The room was spacious but "security" on our back door was a flimsy hook and eye latch, although notices said we were responsible for belonging. Whilst there was not water we didn't get a shower curtain until we complained. Oh yes and the food poisoning which both my partner and I contracted and meant an unpleasant day in bed. I would highly suggest some of the people who own the business actually spend a few nights mystery shopping the place. I work for a travel company and it has now officially been struck off our list.

It's a clean and nice hotel. The staff is caring and courteous. The Buffet food was a bite disappointing. I got food poisoning because of not well cooked grilled chicken one of the chef's gave me (I don't remember is name unfortunately). My stomach was weird all week long and even a few days after I came back. It's not my first time in Cuba but it's the first time it happens to me... The A la Carte restaurant were amazing. I tried the Italian and the International. I enjoy the hiking trip in the mountains. But be aware that it's pretty demanding.

Un lugar muy lindo y buen servicio. We have been there during the covid pandemia and experienced a service not expected in Cuba. We have lot of Cuba experience so that means something. Even due to the pandemic great food and the ressort itself is in a very good condition. I'd always prefer a few relaxing days in the memories jibacoa instead of varadero or guadalavaca

Awesome and very relaxing stay .. great variety of food for vegetarians and non ham/pork eaters. Very friendly stuff ...to try fresh coconuts , mangoes from the trees inside just ask the friendly gardeners in green shirt ... The resort is best for snorkeling ... just grab snorkeling gear from the hotel staff and you are all set for snorkeling ..

(Translated by Google) Nice facility clean beach good food for Cuba. On the beach you can snorkel which is a little outside a small reef where you can see enough fish. The only drawback, nothing to do with shopping and if there are locals in the hotel then the service leaves a lot to be desired. The Corona requirements were carefully observed. Only when local guests were there did one or the other local guest have to be admonished to wear the mask. Unfortunately, these local guests only sporadically adhered to the mask requirement in the hotel when they were among themselves. Too bad. But if you disregard this, since there are not always local guests there, the hotel is highly recommended, especially in times of the Corona. There was always enough space on the beach to keep your distance from other guests.

(Translated by Google) We had a wonderful stay at Memories Jibacoa. Booked apartment with sea view and got a nice spot 50 meters away from the beach. There is much to do, such as a diving school, free catamaran / kayak, but also enjoyed snorkeling at the beautiful reef that is right outside. No jellyfish seen by the way .. We immediately became a member of the Diamond Club, for about 15 euros per day per person you get a lot of extras; so you can stay on a separate piece of beach, with beautiful sun beds and service on the beach; the minibar is supplemented with soft drinks and beer every day instead of just water and you get an extra special dinner, with live music and lobster or meat at the beach. If you want you can also have breakfast and lunch in a separate restaurant. Also discount at the Spa. We have been two weeks and have always booked the other specialty restaurants, which was nice and good. Eating in the large restaurant does not look very cozy at first sight, but is tasty. The staff is super nice and serves smoothly. We have also booked excursions through the Diamond Club. To Havana in an old-timer with driver and guide about 90 euros with 3 people, highly recommended. 1x with guide and 1x without guide, also nice to stroll through Havana, we visited the Rum Museum and searched for a nice eatery via TripAdvisor. We also went to Matanzas and Varadero with an old-timer, really fun to do. I did the catamaran cruise via TUI to an island, a bit commercial but also a nice experience. Lots of live music in the park and the gardens are well maintained. Sometimes you get a fresh coconut from the gardeners for the ultimate holiday feeling. Very nice service, this throughout the park. Everyone is doing their best and is friendly. We have often given a tip, at the reception you can exchange euros for small coins, 1 CUC is about 1 euro. Great to give the hard-working Cubans that little something extra. Take enough cash with you, just euros. You can also pay with a credit card, but you cannot withdraw money from the hotel. Only in Havana at bank which is quite difficult, with long lines. We also had nice weather in 2 weeks 3 cloudy days. Overall enjoyed the small-scale hotel, peaceful setting and a beautiful distance, 70 km from Havana. Also from Cuba, a completely different culture with vintage cars, lots of music and happy people!
