This place was a gem. We’ve been in Medellin for 2 weeks and this was by far our favorite place! Each dish is spectacular - we shared 5 dishes and desert and can’t even name our favorite. And the drinks are better than anywhere else in Medellin- perfectly balanced.

The staff saved this experience. The lighting was dim making it near impossible to read the menus, the food was average (but presented nicely) and tiny over priced portions. However the staff absolutely went above and beyond to make the duel birthday celebration wonderful

We really enjoyed our meal at Herbario! Hillary was phenomenal and made our experience very memorable! We are looking forward to eating here again in a couple weeks.

The restaurant looks very nice when you enter. Unfortunately, to the right of the bar, there is an extremely ugly corner with a lot of things. This destroys the otherwise tidy and great ambience. The service was a total disaster, inattentive and cleared the plates while we were eating, the empty bottles and glasses were ignored and left there for a long time. The cutlery is very cheap, bends when eating and lies carelessly on the table. Our seat was very tight at the next table and had more of a fast food feel than a fine dining restaurant. The food was a solid job. The napkins are placed on the table on a butter plate, which looks very cheap. The flora flora gin was the highlight of the evening. Despite the conversation with the boss, the tip was not canceled for the time being. This is evidence of inattentive service. The restaurant itself describes itself as gourmet cuisine, if you consider the evening, the way there is very, very long in many respects. All in all we were disappointed. We became aware of the restaurant through Christian from airbnb, an extremely bad host who offers cooking classes together with the restaurant. Hands off it's all more appearances than reality!!!!

Me and my girlfriend came here for dinner, as soon as they realized we speak english much better than spanish they sent over Daniel to serve us. He was very helpful and assisted us with tastings and cocktail advice. Very knowledgeable and kind service and the best steak I've had in years. My girlfriend had the shrimp in rum which was also fantastic. Good atmosphere and overall would return.

What an incredible meal! I unfortunately had a big lunch so I only got one entree for this dinner (skipped appetizer and skipped dessert) but I got the steak with blue cheese sauce, mashed potatoes, and greens. I ate every last bite! The steak was cooked to perfection and the sauce/nuts combo really complimented the dish. They also had an amazing spicy mezcal cocktail! Really happy with the service too, very friendly employees. Would definitely come back here again

Great food with good service. The Creole Chicken was delicious and had an amazing sauce. Cocktails were a bit much (flamboyant colors and styles) but ultimate tasty.

The ambiance is spacious, light, and natural. The service is excellent and the food? Wow. A must do when in Medellin. Do yourself a favor and order the Pesca Blanca as your main, a home-made maracuya soda, and the Cremosa Gulupa as your dessert. Herbario gives you local taste and creativity at the same time. Highly recommended.

Although the restaurant has been open for 16 years, I never knew they existed until recently, moreover, nobody ever told me about it. As I am constantly investigating new finds, this one is up there in the top 5. Seriously, you must go and enjoy the way they infuse Colombian flavors and dishes from all over the country into a nuanced, transitional Nuevo cuisine that has the same level and style and deliciousness as the very best here in Medellin. The four of us each savored different dishes, and every one of us were intrigued and emotionally elated! Try the atún, chicharrón, alita de cerdo in black beer, and solomito en costando . The deserts too were just perfect: the gulupa helado and the chocolate cake was mouth watering. Devine , delectable and a super professional presentation sure to wow the most gastronomic !!!! Go !

Amazing place, the food was delicious and the service outstanding. I love how they use Colombian ingredients to prepare very creative dishes. I had an unforgettable evening with my partner with delicious food and great wine. Thank you!

Not good value, the food is average for that price (presentation is good, taste not exciting) and the service was very slow. I felt that this place was a bit too touristic.

We walked in without a reservation and there were three very large parties already seated. The staff looked overwhelmed, no one was at the entrance to greet us but eventually someone came and told us to give him about 15 minutes. 45 minutes later we were seated even though the table we were sat at was sitting empty the entire time we waited. Service overall was very slow - however, the food was very good. Worth checking out but do it with a reservation. Service 2 stars / food 4.5 stars.

I was so looking forward to this place after seeing the menu. We were a bit too late for the lunch service, but they still served us, which was nice. I took the black eyed pea croquettes and my bf the shellfish soup. The soup was so good and full of flavor, but my dish was so disappointing. There were no croquettes, it was more dry falafelballs, served on a dry half of butternut squash. No flavor, no other textures. Just chalky dry food.

Going to the "Herbario Restaurant" was an unforgettable experience, from the moment we entered the attention of its servers and workers make you feel like you are coming home. A unique and pleasant atmosphere. In addition, the exquisiteness of its food and the combination between the natural and a little of the country food makes your sensitive pupils activate 100% This is one of the Medellin Restaurants to high recommend to both locals and tourists. I loved it!

Hilary is the reason we will be returning to Herbario! She was so friendly and caring! I felt like after 10 minutes we had a friend, and not just a waitress. Also be sure to order the "More Mora" - a drink I created while dining there :)

Really good salmon. Was so hungry and it was so good I couldn’t wait to take a picture until the end. The maracuya dessert was also really good. Finer dining experience and still around $20 a person

Great food for a good price.

My family hosted our mother’s 80th birthday at the Herbario restaurant. From the beginning to the end we experience a great deal of professionalism. Although, I coordinated the event from overseas, everything turned out as planned. Their appetizers, entries, desserts and drinks were as expected from a five star restaurant. Our family was very pleased with their service. I will make sure every time I visit my native City, Medellin, to dine at Herbario Restaurant and enjoy their gourmet Cousine.

Good ingredients, but 2/3 dishes I had were good but not great overall. Still worth a visit though.

This is the best experience that I ever had, from the beginning to the end, connecting with the nature and Learned the importance each part has in our ecosystem and why it’s so important to watch what we put in our bodies. The food was amazing. Everything was organic, healthy and very fulfilling. I definitely recommend this to everyone. It’s a very nice experience for every family.

We really like this restaurant. Their menu is based on Colombian food with a modern gourmet twist. A couple really good vegetarian options also. They do special events and the Colombian rum tasting with food pairing we went to was excellent. We look forward to going to future events.
