Arguably the best overall cafe I’d been to in Medellin. Most people will know and flock to Permagino, and rightfully so. However, Cafe Noir is for those truly in the know. They grow and harvest the beans in their own farm. They have their own extraction process which brings out certain flavor. You know they are serious when they give you 4 choice of sugar to choose from including Columbian traditional panela (their version of brown sugar) and Strevia! I ordered the ice latte. If you want something more fancy you can order a 24k version. They use the same bean but the 24k will look more fancy and nice for the gram. Even the ice is made from coffee, a nuance that’ll not be lost on on true connoisseurs. The note of their house blend is toward the chocolate side. While I lean toward acidic, this does give a nice alternative taste. It can definitely match its more famous neighbor. The food is also not bad. I ordered a deviled egg. Nice taste. The staff is knowledgeable and gave a nice explanation in their coffee. Highly highly recommended.

I don’t understand all the great reviews/hype of this place… We went for breakfast and the food was one of the worst meals we’ve had in Colombia. Overpriced and bland. The decor is giving Las Vegas vibes. They are trying too hard to be cool… Overrated. We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the avocado toast. The breakfast sandwich comes with american cheese like the one you buy at the grocery store in the plastic wrap. Ham was the same deal. The bread was def not fresh either. Prices are crazy compared to other places with much better and fresher food. If you wanna come here cause you just turned 21 or under and want to take Instagram pics with gold flakes in your drinks, then this is your place. If you are looking for a vibey spot that serves great food then skip it. There are much better options out there.

Googled “wine” and this place came up. It’s very difficult to find a nice glass of red wine in Medellin. I was a bit skeptical 🧐that they only had one white and one red by the glass, but the red really surpassed my expectations. The staff was super welcoming, helpful and attentive. This is really standout service and ambiance that meets the price point of the bar. Highly recommend. Also, the bill comes out with a very dramatic effect - like a homage to your 💸💨

Wow. This place lives up to the expectations! The drinks were amazing. We got the black margarita, le spa noir insignia, old fashion , JPG boulevardier, charcuterie board & devil eggs. The Charcuterie board was a perfect balance of cured meats , cheeses & fresh fruit. Overall great experience.

I went there for dinner with a friend we sat in the back fire pit area which was nice. But the service is extremely slow we counted 15 minutes intervals where we didn’t see a server even check on people in the patio area. The food is just ok, not bad but nothing to exciting but definitely overpriced. But the most horrible thing is the service is so extremely slow it’s ridiculous. Also, to make matters worse at a place of this caliber we couldn’t pay with our credit card. Our meal and drinks were $339k COP and the server asked if we could go to the ATM to get the money this was unforgivable. Can you imagine a supposed 5 star establishment asking you to go to an ATM to pay? To sum it up good atmosphere, horrible slow service, overpriced and No Credit Cards. Probably won’t recommend or return.

It's a gorgeous place. Perfect for a date, relax and drink a really good coffee. Everything feels fancy and luxurious. The staff is nice and attentive. I've been a couple of times already and I still keep going there. A great bonus is that is one of the few nice coffee places that open until late at night.

What a phenomenal place! The esthetic is stunning, the customer service was superb the display and presentation of the items ordered was so cool. I got the mezcal margarita which was amazing and a cappuccino. I really loved my visit and will definitely return when I come back to Medellin. This place is a must see! Highly recommend.

Best atmosphere for a cafe ive ever been in. Deviled eggs were fantastic. Americano was a little watery but that's a lot of places.

Great food and drinks. Love the concept. Unfortunately the service is slow and poor, and the wifi is horrible. If you intend to come here to work from your laptop... think again. Waitstaff is a joke, they don’t take their work seriously, they instead have their friends that come and take up space here instead of focusing on their job and servicing serious clients who intend to spend a lot of $ here. Beautiful place with a lot of potential and clearly the owner invested a lot of money here but I hope he sees this so he can fix this situation and protect his investment.

Cafe Noir was a great Sunday spot for us. We ordered breakfast sandwiches, which were extremely filling. Also the in-house brewed beer was one of the best beers I’ve had in awhile. The overall environment was relaxing, and made it a great Sunday spot.

Just a fabulous place to visit when passing through Medellín. Service was excellent, choice between and English and Spanish menus. The peanut butter and jelly was amazing, and oddly not even a fraction as heavy as we expected a French toast pb&j to be. The atmosphere is amazing as well. Pricing leaning on higher end, mostly on gratuity that is included, but we got more than what we paid for still. I wouldn’t let that discourage you. Worth it.

Nice place for cocktails. It’s pretty quiet at night which is great for dates. Had an amazing waiter Esteban! Nice guy and excellent service

The coffee (24K gold) was very good - but you gotta remember you’re drinking $7 coffee The deviled eggs were good but messy. The vegan tacos were one of the worst things I’ve ever tried in Colombia. The presentation of the margarita was fantastic. Atmosphere is top notch! I’d go again

Very cozy and romantic and the food we got was really good ending with a drink that was perfect. They do like to serve things in another way - just for the show of it - I like that they do this extra. And I love that they decant the wine when serving it. Part of the show but also air the wine.

Cool cafe with one of the best iced mochas I’ve ever had. The vibe, the atmosphere, the decor all match the food and the coffee. Definitely going back before I leave Medellin. It’s right in the heart of Poblado.

Came for the black margarita (it has activated charcoal) — flavor and presentation were amazing. Service is also fantastic and the restaurant is super pretty. The cocktail was pricey though. After tax and tip, it was $14 usd for one. Still recommend trying it at least once!

Overall I really like the place, its vibe and service. Came here a couple of times. Though this place is expensive, so it ll definitely put a dent in your pocket compared to prices outside. Though its atmosphere ll make you feel really cozy and that’s what you pay for. Also their food presentation is FREAKING amazing. I personally care a lot about aesthetics so enjoyed that aspect of this place a lot.

This is my second time in Colombia after 4 years however not my first time here. Everything remains unchanged: the decor, the atmosphere, the environment, and the staffs. I have to admit the place is pricey. I don’t mind paying a bit more to be away from the smoke, the marijuana, the youngster that couldn’t control alcohol intakes, yet still enjoy the time and the alcohol. Andrea and Santiago are very friendly and informational.

Pluses: - Quiet, chic interior design, away from the party atmosphere just a block away - Service was friendly Minuses - Drinks were just okay, expected more for the price. Lulo cocktail was pure sweet, missing the sourness of the fruit. King William was spirit forward but missing other notes. - They charged a “non-consumption” fee even though we had an appetizer and two cocktails. We were not informed of this until we received the check Overall, fine for a pre dinner drink but wouldn’t go out of your way for this

My friend and I had the best time at Cafe Noir! From the decor to the drinks to the way the bill comes out, every detail is so well thought out and provides an unforgettable experience. I had a delicious cheesecake and a cool colour changing gin and tonic. The atmosphere feels sooo luxurious and it has definitely become one of my favourite spots in Medellin. The service is also exceptional - we were taken care of by David and he was amazing! Super attentive, kind, helpful and accommodating. He made us feel so welcome and special! Overall, the entire experience was a 10/10.

While I wish they’d have vegan options and a mocha the food is good, the service amazing and the atmosphere is the best of the cafes here in medellin.

Great cafe with a really good coffee. Wide range of coffee to choose from. Menu looks cool. I liked it. Fancy interior. Chill vibe. Awesome place to come hang out with friends. Staff is polite and helpful. They've brought our dog a bowl of water. Prices are medium to high.

Really posh experiences. The decor is very nice, the back patio is filled with the lovely sounds of flowing water from the river. Food and drinks are all an elevated experience. Services matches the same high quality in atmosphere and food.

Nice atmosphere, the mojito was weak like a club soda, but adding a shot helped it. But still lacked mint, and could have used a sugar stick or something. I think they should revisit how to make a good mojito, when there are many good mojitos within a 5 minute walk. The average drink took over 10 minutes. Deviled eggs were delicious and the chicken pizza was just okay.

Amazing place with indoor and outdoor area. The ambiance is great. The service is outstanding with English and Spanish speaking and menu options. The menu has options for everyone and is priced very well. All the food and drinks are tasty and prepared fresh. Definitely worth checking out for any meal of the day or just an amazing place to relax for a moment.

The staff are super friendly and made themselves available the whole time we were there. I would highly recommend giving the pizza a try as it will not disappoint your expectations. But I would not recommend ordering the cake as it was underwhelming compared to the main menu items.

Visited on Christmas Eve. I would say their coffee is much better than the food- which isn’t very traditional. Nice decor & vibes

The lounge relaxed atmosphere here is great to take a date but the cocktails are dissapointing, was expecting 5* and theyre definitely not. Don't get the gin and tonic, they serve only a half portion of tonic and the glass is half empty, tastes okay but not the best, the flirty paisa is presented well and tastes good but it's such a small glass for the price. The 24k latte is only good for Instagram pics and there's much better lattes close by for the flavour.

  • 3/5 Ralph N. 11 months ago on Google
I've been here multiple times and it seems like the quality might be declining, or at least spotty for certain menus. I ducked in here with two friends and as expected everyone loved the sophisticated vibe. Unfortunately the hot chocolate had barely a hint of chocolate, and my Chai tea was very weak too. We were very disappointed but I'm still optimistic about the food. For the price though, everything should be good

It's all about atmosphere and this place gives you 5 star style & service all the way. The design the vibe and even the sound is perfection. And getting the bill is maybe the best part 😄. Seriously wait til you see how they serve it.

This is my go to spot if I want a nice quiet coffee shop with exceptional service. The quality of everything here is high end, from the lattes to the cutlery. But resonantly priced, which makes it a winner. Laptop friendly environment if you’re looking to get a little work done.

The food and drinks were very good. I ordered a dish of chips with three types of dip. The service was slow at times despite not being too busy. The waiter was not too attentive but did recommend a very good drink. However, I would not let the slow service stop me from visiting again. Definitely give this restaurant a try!
