We did this tour when we first arrived in Medellin and it was OK but I did not feel like things were explained well. So much so, we felt compelled to try another free walking tour to understand the city and we chose Real City Tours. That one was wonderful. My advice is to book with Real City, and not Capture Colombia.

Monsa - our tour guide - provided a very enjoyable experience. It was very insightful and her energy and passion for tour made the tour even more engaging. The tour starts at San Antonio Station and takes you around the downtown Medellin. A must do and hopefully you get to experience Monsa's fun, insightful and lovely guide to this great city.

Having done walking tours around the world, Pablo was honestly one of the best I’ve ever done. Highly recommend this tour and asking for him specifically! He was funny, informative, kind, and covered all aspects of Medellín’s history with respect and fairness.

The tour Marcella gave my group and I was a highlight of our trip to Medellin. She was extremely knowledgable about the city and we loved learning about the history and walking around the city and getting her recommendations! Would recommend this tour to any new visitors of Medellin.

This was a really great experience! Initially I was worried because I spoke very little español but our guide was very welcoming and spoke excellent english! The tour was quite thorough and included a food stop and a Metro ride. I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone who hasn't experienced Medellín before.

I've recommended this to so many people. I really loved it. I learned a ton, made some cool friends, and most of all the tour guide was so passionate and it got me so excited about my time in Medellin, and inspired to learn even more. Definitely a good decision, and my favourite tour so far!

I would highly recommend this tour to those new to Medellin. My tour guide Luis Miguel spoke excellent English and was very informative. Luis Mi is very passionate about his city and has a wealth of knowledge to share. Although this tour is labeled “free”, they do recommend a $30 000 COP tip. It’s totally worth it. You will also need money to take public transit, $5000 COP for the card and approx $3000 per ticket (you need to two tickets for the walking tour = ~$11000 COP total)

This was my favorite tour that we took in Medellin! Our guide Mar had the most incredible energy, gave us amazing insights to Medellin and and Colombia’s history and we met some really amazing travelers on this tour! I would 100% recommend this as the best way to visit the center of Medellin. Thank you Mar!

The walking tour was outstanding and far exceeded my expectations. Pablo was an excellent tour guide and I feel much better prepared to navigate the city safely. In addition to the tour, Pablo also gave us a brief history of Colombia. He gave a ton of recommendations for things to do and see in the city, answered lots of questions and taught us how to navigate the subway.

Amazing! Pablo was our walking tour guide, and he did an absolutely great job feeding us the true History of Medellin/Colombia. He was attentive and took us to some dope places and guided us safely through the metro station! Will definitely book through this company and with Pablo again!

We used this tour company for three separate tours. They also help arrange all transportation for you if needed to/from any tours. We did some of the tours privately and I thought the price was very reasonable. 1. Free Walking Tour- After 20 years of thinking "oh I'll just do it myself" I have come to learn to get over my stubbornness and take advantage of walking tours. Our group was a very manageable size with a great guide. I suggest doing this as your first activity when arriving because you also learn how to ride the metro which was very useful. (Keep bags close, phones not in pockets etc.) Those familiar with these free tours know there is usually a suggested min tip. In this case it was 40K and if you read the sign up email it is explained there. 2. Fruit Tour/Market - I was skeptical of this one because it sounded kind of boring. No way- the length of the tour was perfect. We received a good history and enjoyed navigating the market. And the fruit--- I just assumed it would be stuff I've already tried. Boy was I wrong- so many delicious fruits. They had a stand ready for us to sit and enjoy after washing all the fruits. We also stopped by a stand with some amazing looking fish soup- I regret not asking for some (even though it was morning time!) 3. Comuna 13 - This was a fun and informative day. Try to go early if you can because it can get very hot and crowded. We did privately which I enjoyed.. not sure for this company but others had super large groups which is not fun on narrow streets. No pressure to buy at any vendors. Mara (Marcela) was our private guide and she was a TOP tour guide.

Super interesting tour, a lot information on the history of the city. It was 3-Hour but not much walking more slow pace. Our tour guide Santiago was super friendly and he recommend us also a tour for Comuna13 which was a great experience too!

Wonderful walking tour of Medellin with Mar! Super informative and really felt like we got a feel of the city with lots of insight to the history and people. The snack break was delicious :) Would highly recommend!

A really wonderful tour for a more than fair price! The food we got for lunch was fantastic and home made far away from the topical tourist stuff. Later we took a boat to an island where it was only us and no other tourists. Highly recommend the tour. ☺️🙌🏻

Marcella (Mar) was a great tour guide for our Walking Tour of Medellin. She made our group seem like a family & shared so much history with us. I highly recommend Capture Colombia tours. We also used Capture Colombia for a Comme 13 tour & airport transportation. They were very responsive to our questions.

Colombian History 101 with Pablo today on a walking tour of centro in Medellin. Talk about passion for your country. Pablo doesn't sugar coat what has happened in his country. At 37 years old he has grown up and seen it all. His mission as a tour guide is to change the world attitude about Colombia but to still admit that the drug problems and corruption still exist. The tour ended with an option to have lunch together in centro where he took us to a local restaurant. He has built relationships with so many homeless people and business owners we passed on the tour, it was impressive to see one guy trying to make change. That's really what it's all about.

A great action packed trip with Alejo and the Capture Colombia team! He was most helpful, informed and fun! The food was some of the best we've sampled here in Colombia, all home-made which really added to the experience! We thoroughly enjoyed the refreshing dip after climbing the Guatepe rock and the stroll around the colourful streets was the perfect wind down before we hopped back on the bus. We would highly recommend this tour!

My wife and I joined the free walking tour of Medellin and enjoyed the tour. We were a group of twelve including our guide Juan who did a great job in shepherding us around and educating us on the history of Medellin while showing us the highlights of the La Candelaria area. We all went by Metro, which itself was a nice experience and then we had a break near Simon Bolivar Park for some refreshing drinks. All in all we definitely got a nice introduction to Medellin from this free walking tour. We also got to meet some nice people from all over the world. At the end of the tour we all tipped our guide (about 40,000 to 50,000 COP per person) and it was truly worth it. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin.

The walking tour with Juan was informative and interactive. I enjoyed learning about key landmarks in downtown Medellin as well as historic significance because it made me appreciate what I was seeing. It was a good length of time (3hr). I highly recommend this tour to first time travellers to Medellin!

My husband and I did this tour our first day in Medellin and are so glad we did! Seeing the metro and downtown and learning about the history of the city was one of the best parts of our trip. Juan was the most amazing tour guide - knowledgable relatable and funny - overall awesome Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Medellin!

Had an amazing walking tour through downtown Medellin with guide Pablo. We went through history, geography, architecture, transport system, social and political aspects and of course Botero and many more. Had lunch, visited a beautiful cathedral at the Bolivar park, went with Metro. These were an amazing 5 hours (incl a fabulous lunch). Definitely recommendable..

Very good organization, starting from the booking through the van and the guide. On my opinion, The stop at the private island wasn’t necessary but most of the people liked it! Everything great!

Had an amazing tour with Pablo. Capture Colombia seems never to disappoint, its the second tour i do with them and both were absolutely fantastic. In this case, Pablo has a genuine heart and a great sense of what's relevant and important for those who want to know and understand what is Medellin and what's the local culture. Feel free to ask questions as he knows a lot!!

Loved this city walk, was a great introduction into Medellin, and the public transport system, as well as an opportunity to meet fellow hostel mates who i hung out with later. Juan was our guide, he was informative, and well organized. Recommend on that first day when you arrive and just getting settled.

  • 5/5 Pedro Z. 1 year ago on Google
The tour was very nice! Not only do you learn about the city culture and history but also how to move around, how to use the public transport, and you also get recommendation on other activities. Our your guide Juan was very nice!

We had a fantastic day with Orion on the Guatape tour. We saw everything we wanted to see with a few cool surprises thrown in. Orion is such a cool guy with so much interesting information about the area and Colombia in general. The tour had the perfect balance of group activity and free time. Would definitely recommend this tour to anyone that wants to see this beautiful area.

The walking tour was very very good. Our guide, Sebastian was unbelievably smart, insightful, and passionate. This was our third tour with capture Colombia and all three were fantastic. You got the sense that they really cared about not only the history of this amazing city, but also what is happening today in Medellin. We are very happy to have seen the city this way.

I went on the Guatape trip last week and it was absolutely amazing, this was the highlight of the week! I was late with booking but due to the flexibility of the staff I was able to join in the end (thank you so much!!). I think going with a tour has an added value because you get to know the history and reason why it is there. I would recommend this over most other trips in Medellin because this is a must see, you will not regret this. I want to thank all of the staff for this wonderful experience and taking care of us so much. We will definitely come back to see more of the beauty Medellin has to offer.

Pablo was such a great tour guide and translator! He was always making sure we all had everything we needed and was so friendly. He’s got a hard job trying to keep a group of people together and on schedule and I think he did a fantastic job! The actual tour around Guatape and surrounding areas was absolutely amazing!! One of the highlights for sure in terms of scenery. 10 out of 10 !! Adele, from Australia.

This was a great tour by Carolina, who is clearly passionate about her city. Great facts, and a lot of explanation of the paísa culture. Maybe a touch too long, but totally worth doing to get an understanding of the city centre and loca culture.

  • 5/5 Bria N. 1 year ago on Google
I booked the Guatapè tour and everything was amazing. Pablo was a friendly tour guide who gave us the history on everything. Pablo made the tour interactive and we were able to visit more than the rock of Guatapé. The lunch was phenomenal. I highly recommend to book with Capture Colombia for your Guatapé tour. Even if you are alone, Pablo is nice enough to take your pictures :)

Had the pleasure to do the walking tour with Capture Colombia. The guide Luis Miguel, a paisa and was knowledgeable, charasmatic , and passionate; very very passionate about his city. One of the reasons why I think Medellin would great to live in as an engineer. I would highly recommend this tour as they pay high attention to their clients and will accomadate for you any way possible.

  • 3/5 Ανθή . 4 years ago on Google
It was a good tour to get to know the city center and the main areas. Tour guide spoke very good English and was a local and very passionate about being paisa. He showed us the city by a personal perspective, explaining us the facts of the history of the city within a more subjective spectrum. It was interesting to hear a locals perspective. It would be nice to add more stories about the history of the city in order to understand more how this city developed.

  • 5/5 Juan Carlos M. 2 years ago on Google
Our tour guide for the Medellin walking tour was Pablo, a local young man who grew up in Medellin. He was very knowledgeable and did a great job pointing out small features for the group to notice. He was constantly checking to make sure we were all together and provided a good, overall experience. We enjoyed staying afterwards and having lunch with him!

  • 5/5 Rebecca M. 1 year ago on Google
I did the walking tour of the city with Marcella and she was amazing! She knew so much about the history of Medellín, you could tell she was very passionate about Colombian history. She went out of her way to go above and beyond for absolutely everyone on the tour! She was so kind, not just to the people on the tour but to the locals too. She even helped get a huge caterpillar off my back which I'll never forget 😂 thanks so much to her for welcoming us to the city!!

First time to Colombia and Guatapé is a must! I had an incredible experience, our tour guys were very helpful and knowledgeable, totally worth it. We got lucky with the weather and no line for the climb, it wasn’t busy which made it fast to get to the top. Delicious lunch was provided, a boat ride to a small island where we cheered and had some beers. Definitely a trip to remember

Pablo was amazing! I had the best time on my tour. He was always available to answer questions, make you feel comfortable and ensure that you’re having a great time. He even went above and beyond to lend me money for the ticket when I was low on cash. He’s such an awesome guy and I will recommend all my friends to him.

Had a very nice and educational experience with our tour guide, Luis Miguel. He seemed very passionate and well educated on the history of Medellin, and was quick to answer any of our questions about the city. I would recommend this tour but note that they ask for a 30.000 COP minimum tip.
