If this is the standard of retail now it is simply inadequate. We got re directed to the self serve till where we had to scan all of our shopping while a worker stood at a cash till watching us while there were no other customers around. On top of that we were told they charge 10p per hanger and got asked to take them off if we didn't want the hangers so we then had to stand and take the hangers off too again while the worker watched. At this point there's no such thing as customer service if a customer has to serve themselves.

Within the congestion Air zone when you come off the roundabout and into the car park. A total put off will not be visiting this store will go to another. Just posting to make people aware, matalan could have had signs kn the early days to warn drivers but then again I'm expecting too much. Birmingham City Council money grabbing......

Great store but very expensive, they have everything you could ask for from clothes to home decoration

I do not like this shop because my husband ordered a watch for my son and it was click and collect and it said collect it between 14-17 of October. My son was just begging us to go get it. and when we went they said "it is not ready to be collected it usually takes 20 days to collect

There was this African lady, one of the shop attendees, my word, what a level of customer service she gave me, honestly..the best I have experienced thus far since moving to Birmingham. She was patient, helpful, made suggestions, mixed, matched...I remember at some point she was surmonned upfront when needed, she told me she would be back and she indeed came back to ensure I was satisfied. I will certainly come back over and over again if such service is what I will receive from your workers. I didn't get her name but please say a big thank you to her as me being new in Birmingham, her helping aura really made me feel welcomed.

Need an item of clothing for a summer event. Did not want to spend much, so this store was a creative choice for that. Spacious aisles. Nice store.

Good store to visit as it is not crowded in the evening.

Went to collect order that I placed on line. Received confirmation that order was in store. Only to discover that the item was not sent due to it being out of stock. Not impressed. Wasted my time and fuel to get to store. Store manager was helpful. Still waiting on refund which i was told will take weeks as Matlan has closed down their telephone lines, and you need to send an email instead. They also have new fast track payment system( if your paying by card only) instructions not clear on how to use it, but if you can find store assistant to help you, its easy. Store Detective made me feel uncomfortable as he came over and watched me whilst I was looking for an item

Went to use my vouchers sent via email only to be told at the till they don't include 'Taylor White' items lol Other than that love the quality and atmosphere of matalan. Tried looking for this on terms and conditions but unable to find anywhere. Purchased anyway as I love the quality.

Service painfully slow on tills, they need to clearly put staff on who can work faster. I'm sure they are fully aware of the same ones who take forever.

Very good place for shopping clothes and other home stuff. Good and helpful service and prices compare to quality of products quite reasonable. Good Parking space as well so no need to worry about that. Quite wide range sizes of clothes always available no mater if you are looking for small or big range. Certainely recommended.

Nice big matalan but one problem that wasn't there before, it comes under the clean air zone now as soon as you drive in the bend there is a camera lookin right at you 🤦🏼😡🤬. This is stupid

Nice spacious layout and tidy. Spot the staff kinda place. Has self checkouts and one till so can get ques on weekends I imagine. Staff look stressed all the time.

Popped in for some work trousers, good value for money however not branded clothes, plenty to look at, just wish they did more winter coats for men as only small selection

This place hasn't changed since it opened up. Is this the next Wilko or BHS or Debenhams to go bust...needs a major refurbishment. Stock is the same old same old. Some of the house hold items are the ones you find in poundland or pound stretchers. Clothing used to be good but it's on par with Tesco and Asda.

They have good variety but till system is very slow and no staff to be seen if you need help with something

Literally the worst experience I’ve ever received in a store. I have drove to take my daughter who is five to get some new summer clothes. When we arrived she told me she needed the bathroom and it couldn’t hold any longer. You know what kids are like I asked staff if she could use the bathroom they refused and said we have go elsewhere. My daughter was crying her eyes out. I drove around town to find somewhere and came back to which the security guard kept following us around. We got to the till and a lady told us to use scan and go to which we asked nicely if we can use the till she said it would be quicker but our basket was rammed and wanted some help. I waited one que for five minutes to be told they don’t accept my card and go and do self check out I asked for help and said I just want use the till . The lady at self check out said that I could use the till just depends on the staff. I just wanted help with my daughter with and support on helping me cash out they all stood around and watched me check out at self check out which was beyond intimidating 😡 left to verge of wanting to cry

Disappointed Matalan, get your act together! Visited Dartmouth Circus store 23/04/22. Purchased £96.30 of items. Bought a cheap pair of Canvas shoes for walking around on holiday with the Grandchildren. Charged £4.00 on the day guessing this was the sale price instead of the £8.50 on the ticket. Size 6 ..my size. Got them home tried them they were like boats. So decided to exchange for the 5. Visited today to exchange. They tried to charge me the extra £4.50 the ticket price still £8.50 as before. so asked to speak with a manager. He said yes but these size 5 shoes today are 2022 stock. The sale ones you purchased were 2020 stock. It did not say that anywhere on the shoe and they are identical to the size six. So disgusted with shopping at Matalan. Do not think I will ever return again the way I feel. The day I went the store was in a disgusting state. The changing rooms were messy with clothes and hangers strewn everywhere. Suggest you get a new manager who values the customers and the state of the store. As for the shoes I will put them in the charity so someone else can benefit from them. Will shop at Primark for my cheap canvas shoes in future. A store that values its customer.

Few weeks ago they wanted us to spend money but not even 'try' shoes or cardigans that do not require fitting rooms. Now the maps said store is open but when we reached it says temporarily closed,only open for click n collect. No sense of customer care in this. WHAT A WASTE!

The store is spacious well stocked nice staff. Ample parking, car park has lots of litter, broken glass, but guys you can't blame the staff for the customers leaving all there mess on the car park the blame is solely down to the customer the store 10/10

Good stuff for kids not a lot of choice for adults no bright colours for men
