About 10 of us went on a Thursday for a staff lunch. They do not take reservations but if you show up at 12 there is plenty of available seating. By the time we left around 2 it was much fuller so if you are large party arrive earlier for lunch. Parking is validated by the restaurant to park in lot 72. I believe you get up to 3 hours free. As far as service, the hostess was not great and did not seem to care much about providing friendly customer service. The waitress was much better. The seafood roll and curly fry brick wasn't great. The fries weren't warm and the bread roll could've been toasted to prevent it from being so soft. The fish dip was pretty good. My coworkers seemed to enjoy the rum cake and key lime for dessert. I tried the chocolate cake a la mode and it was good. The serving is enough to share for two or three people. It's a great outdoor venue on the water that I would return to for light appetizers and drinks but not for the food or service.

Very expensive spot on the pier for pretty average food. Just nothing really stands out. They made a lot of lists on eater and trip advisor but I would not make a special trip out here. We thought we'd spend most of an evening here but wound up leaving and walking to more interesting places down Bayshore. There are minimal views it's actually quite dark in parts of the restaurant. They also seem to have raised prices for happy hour recently. $2 oysters that didn't have much flavor. $8 stone crab legs, those were good. She crab soup was tasty but again expensive for a small cup. They do have some local beers on tap. Probably a nice place to grab a bite before or after you get off your boat at the piers but not worth a trip on its own.

I saw the ad for this restaurant on Channel 7 News.. so I was curious about it... Me and my husband tried the restaurant and we both loved it... the scenery is nice, the food was delicious, the drinks were strong and fruity (just like I like it)! They played nice music, service was fast, waiters were friendly and courteous! We definitely will come back again!

I came here at the recommendation of a work colleague. I'm so glad that I did. The food is AMAZING. It is full of flavor, the quantity and quality of the food is exceptional for the price. The drinks hit the spot. The dessert is delicious as well. The atmosphere is fun and makes you want to stay just a but longer to enjoy the place. The best part is the service. We were lucky to get Gina who provided consistent, genuine and fun service throughout the dinner. She made sure we were taken care of the entire night. If you get the chance to visit Monty's, make sure you get seated in Gina's section! I'm definitely coming back!

we had a really nice time here. the drinks were great and the food was pretty good. the clam chowder was warm and hearty, the mussels in garlic wine sauce were succulent, and the coconut shrimp were tasty and crunchy! the peel and eat shrimp were overcooked, so i’d be weary of those, but everything else was delicious! i’d be down to go back and try some other items, like the fish and chips!

Everything from the food to the atmosphere at Monty's was exceptional and the perfect place to have a dinner that had full vacation-mode vibes. There was an incredible singing duo playing the night I visited, providing beautiful music to a lovely dinner. My friend and I both had cocktails, which were wonderfully made and looked every bit as good as they tasted. We opted for nachos as an appetizer, and it was enough food for two or more to split as an entire meal. The shrimp tacos were very yummy and my friend loved her steak dinner as well.

Nicely located, sournded by yachts and water, the restaurant has a nice feel when you walk in. Ad far as the food was so so, tbh we only tried the burgers, some appetizers, and salads. I've heard tge seafood is really good, but we didn't get a chance to try.

Ambience is nice and waterfront, though way too many boats parked so you can barely see any water. Food was delicious but the wait time was too long, we went on Thursday for lunch and there wasn’t many people but still took about 30 minutes. Pina Colada was a slush and too much sugar, not recommending that drink but other drinks could be good.

The food and the drinks were ok. No WOW factor that's for sure. Overpriced 💸 I have had better fish & chips in a mom-&-Pop restaurant. The waitress who serviced us was good and knows the menu well. I believe this restaurant has only outdoor seating! Also service charge is included in your bill!!

big disappointment. Encouraged by the good average rating and excellent location, we went for lunch. the starters were correct but lacked expression and flavor. they were bland. the main course is a complete disappointment. we ordered lobster with prawns. the lobster was dried out and had a very bad smell and very bad taste. we were unable to eat it. the only positive is very good service. admitted that there was indeed something wrong with the lobster. only because of the service rating 3 and not lower. It's a shame because the location is great.

The service was slow despite being empty and lots of staff just taking to each other. Had the shrimp and fries, and it was good. The coleslaw was NOT good at all. Draft beer is served in a very small plastic cup. One beer equals about a half bottle. Better off ordering a bottle, which is $5 vs. the $7 for draft. Be very aware that gratuity is already included in the check.

I had a business meeting nearby so I stopped in for lunch on a Wednesday afternoon. I've been going to Monty's since the seventies. It's changed tremendously since the original restaurant. There is no air conditioned seating area. However there are a lot of fans all over the place and it was very Breezy. I ordered a Perrier, a side Caesar salad, coconut shrimp and key lime pie. The Caesar salad was good, the coconut shrimp was average and the key lime pie was like glue. The ambiance is great, though! They automatically add a 19% service charge to your bill . It was $41 for lunch.

Great food and nice setting by the pier. We ordered fresh oyster and shrimp from the raw bar for happy hour. Very fresh! We tried gator bites, octopus, seafood rice, and seafood pasta. All are delicious and freshly prepared.

Stopped by with the family on a Friday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised by the food and location! Ordered the wings and a side caesar salad and the taste was fantastic. Their tacos were also delicious and highly recommended. Some things to note, though, are that finding a parking spot can be quite difficult at times, with the lot across the restaurant being very busy over the weekend. Also, it can take quite a while to get some service after being seated since the servers can get swamped during busy hours. Overall, the food and location make this a great stop to take in the views and enjoy dinner!

This is only my second time coming to Monty’s with my husband. The last time we came was 10 years ago. I have to say that it has only gotten better. The vibes and scenery were amazing. We had one of the best host Megan that night and she was absolutely fantastic. She made sure that we were constantly taken care of. She exhibited the meaning of true and sincere customer service. We could use a lot more people like her. Overall the food was even better than the last time and we will definitely be back. This has become our spot for many more years to come. Thank you

Good solid casual food. Nice spot to be on the water and hang out with a few drinks. Casual fare with a casual dress code. You see people coming off the boats at the marina or from the park. Valet is $10 but there's also a self pay parking lot across the street if you can find a spot. Three of us split the nachos, ceviche, fish do and tacos. Definitely more than enough. Drinks were great.

Kassy was a fantastic server! We are in town for one evening before boarding a cruise the next day and we are so glad we went to Monty’s! The DJ played fun music during our dinner and the drinks were delicious too! We sampled a few menu items to get some seafood as we live Colorado and fresh seafood is not available. The ceviche with chips was so good! We loved the crab cake also! We will definitely be back when we are in Miami!

Pleasant seaside dining with fun live entertainment. The gator bites were a surprising favorite—very tender, flavorful, and fresh. It was an absolute pleasure to have Nia as our waitress, we’d love to come back and see her!

Best seafood place in Miami, I was on a two day trip to Miami and this place in coconut grove seems to be heaven for sea food lovers. The cocktails are nice too. Have fun amigos!

My family and I went to Monty’s Labor Day weekend and enjoyed the ambiance, the people and food. I had the baha shrimp tacos and oh my. So tasty. The live bad was the highlight of the day. After lunch we enjoyed taking pictures by the boats. Really nice place to take the family. Food, drinks and service I give 5 stars. Must go!

My wife and I just used the old google for seafood and this place popped up. When i first got here i thought never mind. They say seat yourself and there's no lie about 100 tables. I said to myself how are they going to know we are here. But as the saying goes don't judge a book by its cover. They have more than enough staff to take care of everybody. I got the blue crab chowder and the shrimp cevechie (hope i spelled that right) both were amazing. The crab chowder had mad flavor and good size crab pieces. The shrimp cevechie also had an amazing flavor with small pieces of pineapples. They both absolutely are worth trying. My wife had the servers recommendation, fish tacos with Mahi Mahi. She ate ever one. I did grab a little piece of her fish and again lots of flavor but not so much to overpower the taste of the fish. This place is real busy but you couldn't tell. Servers were great but the bus people were even better picking up used dishes and filling drinks. And yes and its right on the dock so you can people watch, check out the million dollar yachts, watch a sporting event on one of the many TV's or listen to the LIVE band. They were good. This i could go to 5 days in a row eat and do something different everyday. I will be back

Carla was the best waitress I had at Monty’s, very attentive. She made it a better experience for me because before she arrived I was waiting awhile for someone to come take my order. There were so many staff members standing around chatting and joking with each other, walking right past me. It was afternoon and not that crowded yet. I literally had to wave someone down and complain after 20 minutes.. However, once Carla came my experience and mood improved. She kept checking on us and brought our drinks and appetizers in a timely fashion. I like the food and music here, but I won’t be coming back anytime soon because overall Monty’s makes a ton of cash daily and should treat customers much better if they’re going to be automatically adding gratuities to my receipt. Plus, the parking is not convenient and expensive. If you stay a few hours expect to pay about $20 in the parking lot. Last but not least, they need to do a better job cleaning the tables. They’re very greasy and look dirty—gross. There are WAY better spots in the area with cheaper parking options.

My boyfriend and I were looking for a place in miami with oysters, this place had so many great reviews we had to check it out and it did not disappoint! We tried the lobster and crab soup, the seafood and tuna salad and of course the oysters, everything was amazing as well as our server!! she was incredibly nice and knowledgeable. Will definitely be coming back

We were seated and taken care of so quickly! Petrona took great care of us and ran us through all the brunch specials. There was live music which created a fun atmosphere and made the experience so much better. My sister got the avocado toast and i got the breakfast sandwich and both were delicious. Mimosas and Bellinis were a steal at $5 each, highly recommend.

Food was tasty, but a little pricey. There's a variety of options and it's a fun place to go with friends. The atmosphere is great and seating is open air. They have a lot of drink options that are also super delicious! Their award winning key lime pie is definitely a must-try! Would totally come here again with a group of friends.

Not my first time visiting Monty’s, however my experience today was amazing! Beautiful weather , and lots of people enjoying their Monday afternoon 😎. My partner and I - We ordered conch fritters , fish dip, and mahi fingers and a few cocktails for happy hour l. Our servers name was Jonathan , he was extremely sweet and attentive. Definitely coming back & requesting him as my server.

Stopped here for lunch since I had a long layover. The food was decent. The service was ok. Had to reminded the waiter to refill our drinks. The restaurant is close to a dock, had a funny smell of stagnant water. The salmon was really good though

I would give them five stars if wasn’t for the fact that people can smoke, because is an open space. Fortunately it was just three smokers in one table and we moved to another one. Everything else was really good, Monty’s is always a happy time, good food, great outdoors and great service. The host was nice and our server Alejandro was the very BEST. He make good recommendations, everything on time, he take care of us, and he made me a special cappuccino, although they just make expressos. The elote was delicious, shrimps and rice and beans were perfect and the home made lemon pie was FANTASTIC. PARKING: There is a parking lot in front, and they validate your ticket for three hours free.

I've visited this spot a few times now and I've added wings to my meal each time, they're really good. Can't miss with the appetizers from here. The menu options may be a bit limited but you're really here to unwind and what better place to do this then Monty's? Bartenders are great mixologists and the servers are A+. The atmosphere is great with people from all walks of life. The DJ, DJ Devious Remix, is a great entertainer, keeping everyone happy. The visit here is worth it.

Came here on April 7th with my wife and her two boys. We ordered a bunch of food, and it was all pretty good including the gator. Our waitress tonight wasn't the most friendly or caring though. It was kinda disappointing. I'm sure this place can be much better with better service.

My go to place in Miami for fresh oyster!! Always a great experience! Kattia is amazing!! She goes above and beyond to always serve you best!! She’ll recommend exactly what you’re in the mood for, it’s like she can read you!! Amazing customer service and very attentive!! Always a pleasure to return!

Great environment as usual. Oysters were super fresh, drinks are good and happy hour has a lot of good prices and options. We got poke bowls, but burgers, mahi, and more are usually fresh and good. Service could be a tiny bit friendlier.

Kattia is amazing! She welcomed us immediately after we were seated. Brought our appetizer in a timely manner and checked on us regularly. I've been coming here for years and always enjoy!!! Thank you!

Monty's is a great bar to enjoy happy hour and gaze at all of the beautiful yachts docked in Coconut Grove. There is plenty of outdoor seating to go around to post up with large parties of friends and family members. Monty's has an amazing happy hour that includes select $5 draft beers which is rare to find in the metropolitan Miami area. The service was exceptional and I want to give a shout-out to Gina for taking care of us at the bar. Monty's also offers great seafood and live music on the weekends. You will definitely leave satisfied but make sure to get your parking ticket validated before heading out.

First time at Monty’s, first time eating stone crab. Tahyana was delightful serving us. Stone crab and mustard sauce was delicious, yuca fries were great, smoked seafood dip was mediocre, everything else was good. Great atmosphere as well, especially for watching a game. Would be happy to come back.
