If you want to escape the city this is a perfect little trip. Nice to do it on the bike and bike via the Veght (very beautiful route). The castle is beautiful and so are the gardens. The surroundings are also lovely to add a nice walk in nature after your visit or have a drink in the close by restaurants or the cute cafe of the castle

Absolutely gorgeous place to visit. No tours in English but the guide was so good at articulating and acting that I understood most (I'm danish). Great stories! The garden is worth a stroll as well. Uh and do come here on bike it's such a beautiful ride.

Love this place! Beautiful castle with rich history. Both gardens and inside castle are well worth a visit. The staff is helpful and always willing to add a story to what you are seeing. An audio tour (dutch) is available. Don’t forget the home made pies in the garden restaurant! An hour is enough to see highlights, a couple of hours to see more details.

Awesome castle to visit. The grounds are amazing and really gives you a sense of how things were a hundred years ago. Unfortunately we travelled there during restrictions so we could not explore the whole facility

Nice place to spend 1-2 hours. Castle is nice, but audio guide is only in Dutch. It's very interesting to explore, has lots of paintings & cafe :). Garden around the castle needs more work.

It's not the biggest castle in the Netherlands but it's a nice one especially inside. I really liked the furniture and decorations. Their garden with squirrels and apple trees was also beautiful. The personnel is super friendly and helpful. I highly recommend it. P.S. I bought an apple juice from their garden and it was super yummy 😀

Very cozy castle with nice surroundings to walk. It is opened at winter. Interiors are restored to 18-19 century. The gobelin hall is exceptional. Big collection of Dutch porcelain, glass and tableware. Staffed toy mice wear they best closes for Christmas. Don't miss them 😀 Library is small but atmospheric. Special thanks to guides who share the story of the castle and people who lived there. Reserve a few hours for the castle and park. A car parking is under the trees just opposite the castle. You can either pay for the parking in the museum (5euro) or by card when leaving. Hint: if you will have a meal in the Belle restaurant you can ask for a free parking token for the castle parking. Otherwise, you can have lunch in the castle's cafe. They offers a few kinds of soups, sandwiches and yummy pies.

Beautiful castle, the guy who guided us knew a lot of fun facts as well. Sweet staff. Not a lot of tourists so we had a peaceful visit, would love to visit it again

It was really nice. One could even see some writings from so long ago and from different people. I found it was a very interesting and historical visit

A beautiful 13 century castle with a garden.. passed down between several families, still you can enjoy the glory of it.. Notice the beautiful blue tapestry in the Gobelin room, boys room with hunting trophies and the library.. The castle rooms sometimes open for high tea but you need to make reservations.. inside there is a terrace with a cafe and also another outside.. Apparently on Pentecost days, most of the castles in Netherlands are open for public.. and ones that are already open displays few more secret doors, like the dungeon in Zuylen.. Entrance included in the museum card 😃

A very cute smaller medieval castle and gardens. Worth a visit. The car park is quite small

Partner and I biked here while staying in Utrecht. Very easy getting here and was a great way to spend an afternoon. It was quiet when we went so we could tour at our own pace. There was a lovely lady on the 2nd floor who showed us around and explained the history of the families who lived there. After the tour we stopped at their cafe for a nice apple tart and coffee. Was the highlight of our day for sure!

One of the most beautiful castles in the Netherlands with true Dutch aristocracy’s spirit. Impressive library and art collection. Tiny but lovely museum shop. I’ve bought there a jar of local honey “Slot Zuylen”. Lekker!

We visited only a garden, not a castle. The garden is cute and very small. Not worth 4 euro per person. (Free entrance with a Museum kaart) Parking costs are 4 euro, that's way too much. Park somewhere in the town instead. The horeca which they mistakenly call "a restaurant " is sad. My son named it "a boomer's meet up point".

Another of the small castles in the Netherlands to visit if you have a chance. Highly recommended place to pay a visit.

Nice castle (former residence) and gardens, worth a visit. Parking is a bit limited but possible. Accepts the Dutch Museum card. I'd reserve at least about 1 hour for the inside and 30 min. outside.

We were here for the Open kasten dag where they open the cupboards to visitors got a day and there were only 2 of these days in a year. Don't forget to walk in the gardens. It's beautiful in varieties and colours in the summer.

Beautiful castle and surroundings. Staff was very friendly and happy to share more about the history of the place. Definitely will return once guided tours are offered again!

It is a nice to look at castle. Nothing much to do at it. I am not sure if you can visit it. You can just continue your trip and visit the nearby mills maybe. The entire area is really nice.
