It's a great place to experience the ancient Dutch village life. They have recreated a real village with real people who are doing the day to day work in the village. Plenty to learn for kids. They have some dramas as well. Those are in different time slots and people are divided to each at a time due to corona measures. And they have a small eatery also inside. Only thing was that everything was in Dutch. So we had a hard time understanding everything. If you ask in English, they will explain in English. However the dramas were in Dutch. Anyhow it's a good experience after all.

One of the best museums I’ve ever visited! That’s a real travel through the history… and also I was so lucky as having chance to see Romanian Days events. That’s also so real! I also visited ArcheoFactory in the area. That’s a lovely idea for everyone not only children. I did the all steps 🤓 met Lonneke (mentor), she helped me on the step three, and explained very well. These type of works should be supported!

Nice recreation of past times. Great representation with constructions, utensils, and costumes combined with practical activities like games, shooting arrows, learning to make fire by using stones, and even bread making. Lot of fun, well orientated for children. Personnel wears costumes clothes, very friendly and happy to do their jobs. Recommended.

Interesting way of showing how life looked in past. I would recommend visiting during weekend as several spots (like blacksmith) were not handled during working day.

Fantastic place to bring the kids. Both educational and entertaining. An immersion experience of living in Medical time. The stations demonstration is in Dutch. But you can definitely ask and get an English demonstration.

We are here for the third time. People who come here for the first time recommend participating in the guided tour. You can understand that the whole village will bring you the feeling of the local history from prehistory to the Middle Ages. You can also see the whole picture of the development of human civilization in this area. There are more activities and DIYs for children, some for free, and some for a very small price. These activities will change according to the period. This is a museum that is suitable for frequent visits with children, or for those who want to learn more about the history of this area.

A lot of activities for children and adults; "learning by doing" . Very friendly staff, can give additional information about different ancient history topics. There is a restaurant and a gift shop as well.

Nice little look into local and regional history. Small park, but since there are some 'classes' kids can follow you can spend a few hours here easily.

Sehr leckerer Kuchen. Unbedingt mal den Arretjescake probieren.

A wonderful interactive museum that allows you to go back in time and experience some If the old routines. It is a great place to go with children and to spend some time!

I found the musuem to be fun for all ages. Lots to do for young children and adults visiting alone. The staff are very friendly and knowleagable. All signs are in Dutch and English also there is an app with a guided tour. The only downside I can see is the parking area is small. As the place grows parking will not be easy.

Great place to learn about the ways of live in the past. The museum is basically a small town of buildings and everyday objects that were used by humans in the past. There are different places showing how people lived in different times from pre history to medieval times. Everything is interactive, you can do some bow shooting or try your skills with calligraphy using ink and a feather. Great place for kids and adults will have great time as well.

Very interesting and entertaining pre historic village. Fun for all ages! There was a tour, very well done (but in Dutch...) For kids and adults. Experience the olden days and try writing with quill and ink, clay a bowl (or anything), bake a bread (lots of these mainly for kids) and much more. It's not ideal on a rainy day, but there's a lot of 'inside' options too. Just bring some rain clothes or umbrellas. Recommend this place if you have any interest. :)

Really good outing for an afternoon. You can see the highlights from the hunter gatherers to the coming of the Romans to the early middle ages. Lot of activities for the kids. Reasonably priced.

  • 5/5 umut utku E. 1 year ago on Google
There are lots of details for the kids, kids theater, little games, arrow throwing, etc. Activities for adults can be found too. Everything about the history tried to be replicated to make people feel like they are witnessing the era in the first hand.

  • 3/5 Nikki K. 1 year ago on Google
Nice experience, even if you visit as a couple without kids. There are activities that adults can partake in as well, plus lots of educational boards around the park to learn about the prehistoric area. Good activity if you’re around Eindhoven!

The people working there were very welcoming, friendly and passionate about what they do. Spoke fluently English when required. There's a lot to see and do, both for kids and adults with an interest in (ancient) history. The buildings are impressive, even the nails looked hand made, the costumes are spot on and there's an overall very relaxed atmosphere. I really enjoyed this place and will definitely visit again.

Probably one of the friendliest and best museums I've ever been to, beautifully located, full of interesting information and passionate people who (despite being hours into their shifts already, I imagine, as we've stayed there till the closing time) were more than ready to talk to us, both in Dutch and in English. The tickets are priced very reasonably and taking into consideration how much you're getting – it's hell of a bargain. I really hope I'll be able to revisit 🌞Take your kids there. And friends.

Park is very small and not very elaborate. There are a couple of medieval- looking houses with educational themes for young children, but the set up is all too rustic. The rennactors do not stay in character the full time.

  • 4/5 Meric B. 1 year ago on Google • 18 reviews
It is great for families with children because you can find lots of activities for them. On the other hand, if you are adult and alone, it might be not much interesting. If you have a museumkart, then you can spend an hour and visit there.

  • 5/5 Jeff J. 1 year ago on Google
This is such a lovely place, with so much dedication by its staff and tons of volunteers. Historic groups from all over Europe seem to visit this and the prehistoric houses, the arts and crafts, activities for kids and adults, it's really good. It's compact, it's serious, but fun, it's how education about the history of civilization should be: well done to the team and well done to Eindhoven for having this in an amazing central area of this surprisingly great city!

  • 5/5 Alina N. 3 years ago on Google
Great place to spend the afternoon alone or with your family. It's a place full of history and the people working there are very nice and happy to share the historical meaning of the place and also show you how to do the things.. the prehistoric way.

Great place, friendly welcome at the reception with afterwards a private guide/explanation by the actors/guides at the pottery and archery... 2 very qualified men, able to explain history to children in a fun, understandable and interactive way. Definitely worth a visit.

Very interesting concept. The villagers are friendly and helpful. Unfortunately we don't speak Dutch good enough (yet) to follow along all of the explanations, but many were willing to give an english translation :) Will be coming back for the upcoming events!

What a lovely experience. My kids, 6 and 3, had a great time, even in the rain. Lots of activities all explained by people dressed in medieval garb. So hands on. Everyone had great English for non Dutch speakers.

This is one of those amazing places that you see once and you wish to return to. You travel through history and you understand how things developed, and especially why we have certain inventions today. Also, a great tavern where you can grab a snack or a proper lunch, and you can quell your thirst. A must-see!
