Service is really poor. Japanese staff couldn't care less for us. They treat us so poorly unlike other Japanese guests. They not even trying to talk/help us. The only staff that care us the best is a Nepalese staff. It is normal for Japanese staff to not able to speak English but most of the time they will try their best to communicate, but not this luxury accommodation. Maybe being an Asian but not Japanese is the cause? Moreover, hotel parking lot locate near the onsen fume. We park our car overnight and on the next morning our car is covered in onsen stain. Hotel staff never apologize and couldn't care less. The only thing they trying to do for us is trying to kick us out of the hotel lobby as fast as possible and handing us a water hose to let us clean our car ourselves at 0 Celsius, freezing temperature. We don't really expect them to wash the car for us or anything, we just want to know how to clean the onsen stain and where to clean them coz we don't want to damage the rented car, moreover the onsen stain also covered the windshield which make it really dangerous to drive as we can barely see anything when the stain hit with the sunlight. For the price tag of $300 a night, with such mediocre service and all of the trouble with our car and the poor service-mind of the owner, I would say AVOID at all costs.

Whoever is visiting Mount Aso and is also thinking of going to Takachiho Gorge, this place is the perfect base. If you like peace and nature, and not bustling and hustling town, I would highly recommend this place. It’s good if you have a car (self driving) as I would think that it’s hard to come with public transportation. I stayed here for 2 nights, and it was such a lovely stay! I booked the semi Japanese style room with private onsen, and the room is very spacious for 4 people. The dinner and breakfast is good, although I felt like there could have been a bit more protein in the meal courses. Overall I had such a pleasant stay, the public onsen is very nice and scenic, the staff hospitality is very lovely, they actually have 2 staff who is able to speak English as well. The staff service is 5/5 no fault, I want to thank you everyone who made our stay such a memorable stay!!

When we arrived, front desk manager 岩本 San treated us warmly with hospitality and respect. Parking spaces super convenient. Stayed at the Sakura room which was very spacious for 4 people. Comes with in-house onsen. Both outdoor onsens are great and give lovely views of constellations by night and Mt Aso views by day. Highly recommended for tourists with cars.

The service was EXCELLENT. BEST I have experienced. The staff helped us to carry our luggage, keep our shoes and greeted us politely. The package included good and hearty dinner and breakfast. Very worth it. They also have indoor and outdoor Onsen.
