Ok. Then he told us at 21:30 it was last order time and that they are closing soon and the place is supposed to be open until 23:30! By this time we were so frustrated that we could not move or enjoy our food and drinks without being pushed over every 5 minutes and asked for the bill. When the bill came we asked to split the bill - a totally normal request, especially in Japan (where it is probably a human right to split a bill). The waiter refused and said we must pay the whole amount with one credit card! By this time I couldn’t take it anymore and asked to see the manager and what do you know! Suddenly splitting the bill became possible! Imagine that! To sum things up: if you are a luxury rooftop bar at a luxury hotel you should probably aim for a higher level of service. Came here for just a night out with the wife. They were very accommodating. If you are seated out side under the overhang, there will be people smoking. If you don’t like the smell of cigarettes, they were willing to bring us inside. The view was spectacular.

In my opinion the view was not bad but there's alot of reflection from the glass panel and there's no outdoor seats. I didn't want to pay the 2200 yen surcharge per pax from 8pm so I left like 7:55pm. But I love the service and how cosy the place is.

We'd booked a table for 5:00 pm for 2 hours, so we had a fantastic view of Tokyo as the sun set over the city and the bay. The service was attentive. The drinks were eye-wateringly expensive! Overall, apart from the magnificent views, the place was underwhelming and just not the classy atmosphere we'd expected in such a high-end hotel. We won't be back. My take-away - try another rooftop bar if you want great views.

The rooftop is not completely enclosed, but it was fine because they have heaters and even had heated blankets at each table. The staff is also very nice and professional. We were staying at the Andaz and decided to come up to the rooftop after happy hour to have a drink. We were told we couldn’t sit at the window seats because we didn’t have a reservation, which I thought was fine at the moment, however once we were sat at a high top back from the view, I realized there were no other patrons at the bar—I mean zero. When I asked if we could sit near the window we were told it was only for reservations. By the time we left there were maybe two or three other patrons, none in the apparently VIP window seats. I would skip this if I’m being honest. We went back down to the happy hour for another free drink, and frankly a better view with better heat. I was really not trying to be ungrateful but I don’t think it would have been too much to ask to be seated in an empty prime spot until a reservation arrived (which none had by the time we finished our drinks and left).
