We went here on New Years Eve and it was an awesome experience. Immediately after admission they greet you with complementary shots. The food was delicious and prepared infront of you. Right before the ball dropped they had an amazing Taiko drum performance that went on for around 40 minutes. The walls at the entrance are lined with photos of celebrities that have visited. Any fan of Kill Bill must come to this amazing restaurant.

Okay this place is a bit of a popular tourist and ex pat location because of the close ties to the movie Kill Bill, BUT, is it good? YES! The service here is awesome! The drinks are decent priced, and the food, wow! This is a fantastic way to experience Japanese food and they are generous on portions and the food is super tasty. It’s a bit more expensive for this type of casual food, but they pull it off so well. The washrooms are upstairs so you get a nice tour of the setting from a Birds Eye view. Definitely make reservations because they do get super busy and super packed on the daily. Add this to your list of places to check out, it’s definitely fun and worth a stop!

Absolutely fabulous spot. Super high energy and delicious food. The constant greetings they gave folks entering was entertaining. It was loud and lovely so plan for that! Also it books out so reserve ahead. Shout out to Vivi and K who took excellent care of me!

I know it’s a touristy place to come but it’s definitely worth giving it a try especially if you are a Kill Bill fan. The food is a little expensive for Japanese standards but all the food was flavorful and came out quickly. Definitely make a reservation prior to coming because I made that mistake. The staff was nice enough to let me come back in 45 min without a reservation but you could get stuck during busier times. Clean establishment and worth stopping in. The service people are a little abrupt and the server/manager wasn’t the friendliest but overall a good experience and they do speak English here.

Definitely see where the inspiration came from for the movie. Was surprised how much smaller it was than the movie! Staff were friendly and we were able to have a bar seat for 2 without reservation. We ordered a variety of good! It was all fantastic! You see the huge long grill so order some yakitori!! We also tried their noodles they make!

The place look amazing, there is no doubt. Unfortunately it is so touristy I felt i was in a Japanese restaurant abroad. 20s pop music, completely took you away from an authentic experience. I live in Japan and I am aware of the culture where the waiters and cooks will shout to welcome or say goodbye to a customer, but they screamed SO loud it actually was uncomfortable. As for food, mediocre. Some things are good, some so so. But + points for fast service. It is a shame that such unique place has to bow to western culture so much: with minor changes this place could be great! Over all the experience was fine

Real treat to visit this restaurant. A group of us went here on a Friday evening after work. No tourists so it was not packed. Food was excellent and service good. Staff were very helpful. No sign of Bill though 🤣

A fun place to eat. The interior is so huge that you can walk around the two floors, The upper floor is a balcony that looked down on the tables. The restaurant was the inspiration for some scenes in the movie Kill Bill. When i was there, a group of diners came dressed in the yellow Uma Thurman jump suit. The food was varied and delicious. The service was great.

Very cool restaurant that was the inspiration for the Kill Bill movie famous fight scene. Recommend reservations that are easy to make ahead of time online. We enjoyed one of the preset course meals and got to watch a lot of the cooking. Fun atmosphere and really good food. Visited here in March.

Very cool spot! This restaurant inspired a couple scenes in the movie Kill Bill. It's a very busy spot so get reservations! If you are a solo traveler you have to call to make a reservation for one. (corrected) BUT I walked in and was seated within 5min since there are ample spots at the bar. You are right in the thick of it too! Oh and the food was excellent as well! (If you ask nicely they will let you see the rooftop terrace where another scene was inspired from the movie)

Food and service were both good. The zenzai dessert was just delicious. Here we found staff with a much better-than-average level of English compared to other restaurants in Tokyo/Japan - as a result there is a slightly less local vibe.

Great place famous for the movie 🎥 KILL BILL. Also lots of celebrities love this place ! We went on the third floor more specialized in sushi and Californian rolls on their beautiful terrace! Beautiful place to enjoy summer and as we were celebrating my birthday, the staff surprised us with a beautiful dessert plate ! Loved the evening :)) Great sushi rolls very good tofu ( their specialty) edamame and desserts!

Im giving 1 star for the atmosphere as the flies was simply annoying. Otherwise, staff are nice, lively. It’s probably keeping the place clean is basic for any restaurant(or anywhere… Hope to have better experience next time when I have tourists to take!

It was a very lively izakaya. Had to attend an office party there. But since I am Muslim they gave me a vegetarian menu and the server was really nice and sweet. She made sure that my meal was not getting mixed with others non veg order. They have an all you can drink menu which combines both alcohol and non alcohol drinks. They also had an awesome live performance.

(Translated by Google) One of the restaurants in Tokyo, specialized in Yakitori which consists of a cuisine that ranges from appetizers to desserts made all on the grill, perhaps for us Europeans it becomes a bit problematic but here in Japan there are a myriad of places that specialize in cuisine monothematic. All good but frankly to try a couple of times a year no more.

We went here to celebrate our friend’s farewell party. The food was good. But the experience was very disappointing. The staff were not friendly. We were even asked to move our cars because they said the parking slots are reserved for the restaurant’s use. But there were no sign that the slots were reserved. And when our check came, the waitresses just stood there while we were still discussing how to settle the bill among ourselves. She could have just left the check with us and come back when we’re ready. We felt rushed. They even asked us to leave when in fact there was still 20 minutes left in our reservation. We did not leave and insisted that we still have 20 minutes left. I find it very rude. The service is not what you’d expect from a Japanese restaurant. This is, by far, the worst dining experience we’ve had in Japan. Not worth your money. I felt giving them 1 star is more than being generous, honestly.

Great experience to visit the 'Kill Bill' restaurant. It definitely is tailored for the tourist, and the service team definitely wants the tables turned over swiftly. We spent approximately an hour and was told we could no longer order food to cater for the queues outside. So those seeking an authentic Japanese experience this one isn't for you. For those wanting to tick it off your bucket list, then it's a must.

This is our favorite izakaya. 1. We love Kill Bill and this place was the inspiration of the famous fight scene. 2. The food is delicious and affordable. They also offer an all you can drink mention. Definitely a plus! 3. The service is amazing. We came on a Saturday night without a reservation. They get packed during weekends but the server was so nice and accommodating to our requests. The workers definitely make the place shine. Tip: Make sure you make a reservation. Saves you a lot of time!

The service was impeccable. Great atmosphere, and great food. The only thing I would suggest is better music. They were playing old American songs like the piano man, Madonna, etc... But I can't stress how good the atmosphere was. I mean, it's the Kill Bill restaurant! Didn't get much better than that!

Great food and excellent service. Food prices are perhaps twenty percent higher than the best you can get out there for comparable, but you're paying for the ambiance. Speaking of the ambiance, if you're looking for the Kill Bill Restaurant this isn't it. This location inspired the set used in the movie. That said it's still a very cool interior.

Kill Bill brought us here, so this is definitely an izakaya with a vibe! It was a really busy location, but I appreciated it as a one-time dining spot. This seemed to be a venue for larger gatherings, but the food was rather nice. However, the price point is greater than regular izakayas. Also, the personnel spoke perfect English, so this made the experience even more smooth.

It was an amazing experience worth visiting the place and having an authentic Japanese dinner with the atmosphere reflecting old Japanese culture. It is exactly like the kill bill movie. We had a work dinner, a very nice atmosphere and the food was nice. I tried the tempura very delicious, the tofu was on another level a bit salty and rich in flavor and the oyakudon was the halal option I had it was very good with 2 egg yolks on top, I tried also a pineapple juice very nice. The best dish was the dessert ice cream with pumpkin it was a very savory sweet ending for the day. Also, there was a drum show in Japanese style drumming.

Aside from being a little bit of a tourist spot, the food was amazing as well as the sake. The food was fresh and delicious, and my colleagues just kept on ordering...but no complaints. No sword fighting here, but that's just because everyone was too busy eating and drinking.

The set lunch is very value-for-money, just 1000Y for a main with salad and soup. Very friendly staff, fun vibes and English menu available. The restaurant is said to inspire the Kill Bill Vol 1 movie. You should make a reservation online first before arriving.

Seen a lot of reviews before booking. All reviews mentioning Kill bill movie. This is not the only reason the restaurant deserves all the hype and good reviews. The food, service and atmosphere were amazing. We were greeted by Mario the manager whom was very nice and helpful. They also have a Halal menu for lunch which is really positive in Tokyo. Would recommend this restaurant highly!!

So cool, what a great place for lunch or dinner! The wife and I had lunch here the other day, so much fun! The staff were very helpful and friendly and spoke English. We had the lunch course menu which was really good. The starter appetizers (sorry no photo) were little sausages and meats which were stellar, great way to start a meal. The sushimi was really good as well but the star of the meal for me was the fried shrimp dumpling. It was so good I ordered another one after our meal was over. The tempura was so well cooked, no oily taste or soggy feel. The cod was also a ++ so tender and juicy and no fishy gross taste. The skewers were really good but I also forgot to take a picture…sorry :(. The soba was really cool and a great first introduction to this amazing dish. Thank you chefs for making this a great experience. We also ordered the mint yuzu drink which was so subtle and smooth! Great experience thanks!

The food and the atmosphere in this place is awesome. It is loud so know that before you go in If that bothers you. Also this is where they filmed Kill Bill the crazy 88 scene. There's a memorabilia and pictures inside as well. The food is awesome The yakitori and the wagyu beef was great. Has a party vibe to the whole restaurant.

While definitely not where they filmed Kill Bill, the inspiration is clear. This place was well worth the trip. The food is more pricey than most Izakaya's but it was delicious. Highly recommend trying the Toro stick, soba, and the homemade ginger highball was one of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great food and atmosphere. There was also a show going on to brighten the mood. Wasn’t as busy as there was extra tables and the whole 2nd floor was empty. Definitely a place to visit, especially since this is the place where a scene from Kill Bill was from.

This place has the one of the best Japanese food and grill I have been to. I thought it would be typical food but it actually went way over expectations. There is some pay parking available a few meters away and probably depending on time a group eats there will depend on seating wait times or table reservations. It seems they get quite busy since it is a popular place as well as a tourist destination.

Unfortunately this wasn’t great. I was so excited to visit the Kill Bill Inspo restaurant and was ready to LOVE this place, but by the time dinner was done, I barely liked it. Starting with the service or lack of. I wrote our name down and stepped aside, when the hostess returned I tried asking how long the wait was, she rudely kept saying “it’s a wait”… yes understood but I was looking for an answer in minutes. Not willing to let that spoil us so we jumped at chance to be seated immediately at the bar. What they didn’t mention is it was a service bar which REAKED of sourness. After sitting a few moments the smell overpowered and I asked to move to nearby tabletops. We enjoyed the mushroom and chicken skins skewers, tuna tartar and the tempura; I also ordered a salad that was topped with mussels. There was a small mixup where I was given a gingerale instead of a Moscow mule (and told it would be comped but wasn’t). Though decently drinks priced drinks left a lot to be desired. Now the good parts are it’s a beautiful spot and this was our first touch of energy in Japan. The whole staff greets you upon entering so it’s loud and surprising warming. There were also many non-Japanese English speaking staff which was cool to have. The restrooms are upstairs all the way in the back so you get a nice birdeye view of the full restaurant and a sneak peek into the traditional seating areas. I would visit again to try to redeem the experience and make reservations so that we can try a different area.

I was taken here as a birthday surprise. Mario and the staff rang the gong and brought a delicious cake. Of course, the food and drinks are fantastic. For me, the service was the absolute highlight. All the staff were kind, courteous, and helpful. As the cherry on top, a taiko drum performance lit up the room. This is a restaurant in which you can sit in one of the scenes of the movie Kill Bill. Therefore, the ambience is really nice. They have a vegan menu but don’t provide it immediately. You can ask for it. The sushi roll was delicious but when I ordered the green peppers skewer, they put bonito flakes on it!!! 🥲🥲🥲🥲 quality of the food was generally good tho. What sadly was the case was a very young staff serving the guests. They were not really professional and made our experience feel rushed (on a Monday night?!).

Gonpachi restaurant is the location of one of the iconic scenes in Kill Bill. So if you're a fan of the movie, you'll appreciate it better than others. Which also makes is a bit of a tourist trap so we went in with lower expectations. But we were wrong. The restaurant is excellent, service was amazing and the food was outstanding. Never did I expect black sesame ice cream to be as delicious and as well balanced as the one I had here. Good selection of drinks too and has different types of seating. Toilets were on the first floor so not very disabled friendly. They do have lots of photos of Hollywood stars who visited this restaurant so if that's your thing, you might enjoy that too. Make your reservation in advance, they do get pretty busy.

Amazing place! Had to wait about an hour as we didn't make reservation but it was worth it. Walked in to this huge, dimly lit, beautifully decorated restaurant where the staffs will greet you loudly from wherever they are. Service was great, food was served quickly (fresh and hot!) even though there were many customers. MUST TRY their tempura dishes (ebi & squid)! It was fried and seasoned to perfection. I'm salivating as I'm typing this review. Other dishes like mushroom, chicken, pork, wings etc were good too. P.S: it's a loud places as staff will shout most of the time. Not sure what they're shouting but I assume they are welcoming the customers in. Find it very interesting though, brings life and fun to the huge space. Price may be slightly steeper than usual izakaya but I think it is worth for the food and lively ambience. Highly recommended to visit this izakaya restaurant while in Tokyo :)

Extremely disappointing. I've been going to Gonpachi, Nishiazabu since it opened, not often, but it's consistently a good intro for first time visitors to Japan, lovers of Kill Bill etc. and the 3/F sushi section has been consistently decent. Not this time. Arrived to be told that it was fully booked / reserved when (a) there were 3 tables and several seats at the counter clearly open and (b) it's after 8pm during the state of emergency and Global Dining are keeping their restaurants open for the few people like us who still want to eat later. Told them we just wanted a quick dinner, would be done in 30 minutes and finally got seated. We ordered the drinks and some light food (gindara, 6 nigiri and 2 rolls) and then waited....and waited. The Gindara arrived in 20 minutes but the sushi - 6 pieces and 1 roll - took 45 minutes and several prompts. Finally they admitted that the other roll was not put on their order. Shameful in all aspects.

A very traditional style restaurant, very spacious with traditional interior. The best part is they very good food and drinks at very reasonable prices. Make you sure to enquiry before visiting, as this place is mostly packed. You can find a lot of foreign and local people over here. So, one do not feel left out at the place. There are more Gonpachi in Tokyo but this one famous because the movie Kill Bill fight scene was filmed here.

If you were impressed with Kill Bill, you would feel differently. Gonpachi is an antique style bar located in one of Tokyo's biggest downtown areas, which was used as a setting for the movie. The atmosphere is quite noisy among the bars, and it is not a quiet place to drink. Sometimes you can enter without a reservation, but in some cases, you should. There are few Japanese, and the main customer base is either Europe or US (especially Weeaboos). So you won't have a language problem just because you can speak only English. This is because most of the staff are English. Some of them even don't seem to be Japanese. The food isn't bad, but it's not very special either. The same goes for the price. However, because the interiors are so great, it's okay to go there at least once. Of course, I wouldn't visit many times if I were you.

We went there for Christmas dinner. The place is really nice (for Kill Bill lovers) and good was great. Menu was 8000 yens per person. Maybe a little bit expensive (you probably pay for the place too) but service was kind and great and food really great. I recommend.

(Translated by Google) The atmosphere of the building and interior is unique and there is plenty of commitment that makes you feel Japanese. It seems that foreign tourists will be pleased, but I think that even Japanese people can fully enjoy the open space. The customer service and the taste of the food were good, and I was able to enjoy it very much in combination with the atmosphere. Pretty ordinary place. It’s better than your average tourist trap, which it undeniably is. But to be fair, now, when there aren’t many tourist around it’s just a spacious izakaya. Food is okay, as well as the drinks. I wasn’t disappointed but I wasn’t impressed either.

(Translated by Google) Gonpachi who was glad to go! I used it for lunch on public holidays. 2000 yen course. The course can be used without prior reservation. Maybe because of a holiday or because of a corona vortex. I entered the store around 12 o'clock, and there were only 3 or 4 groups of customers, so I thought that one day I would like to drink at the lively Gonpachi, which is full of customers. Gnomefish grilled in Saikyo, shrimp shinjo, yakitori thighs and meatballs, kuzumochi served with dessert ice cream, and fried chicken. Everything was delicious and the pace of coming out was just right. The beer glass was also clean and it was nice. I would love to go there again. Very very nice place. The ambient, the music and of course the feeling to be in the scene of Kill Bill help to create a great experience. The menu is according with the place and not expensive than I suppose.

Great lunch deal set. They had 3 options for Teishoku: Curry rice with soba, Saba, and Kara-age (fried chicken). A lot of food for the 1000JPY lunch set. Quality of the food was good, portions were large (come hungry), and price was excellent.

(Translated by Google) If there is a birthday in Ogwang-sama, the movie Killville OST is shown loudly throughout the restaurant, and the staff congratulate it. The impact of the music is so strong that it embarrassingly raised goosebumps. A restaurant with a famous story like this may not have much food, but maybe this restaurant is different..? The atmosphere was noisy and good.

One of the best bars I've been in Tokyo. Open space for nice food, music and have fun with friends. The price of the food is really ok, not as expensive as other places around Tokyo. We had to wait indoors a little bit but it was totally worth it, they also give you a small welcome drink while you wait.

Food was great. Had a nice environment. Stuff was really friendly. A bit pricey, but that is to be expected since a scene in Kill Bill was shot there.

Oh I love this place. Was where kill bill was filmed and the restaurant has a wall of pictures of celebrities that had visited over the years. Food was amazing. They have a good size menu also with a course style selection where you pay a price and they bring out all the foods. Decor was fantastic. You have to call ahead for a group though and you can do that on the website or just call. Sundays at 8pm they have a drum show that's epic.

Great for English speakers cuz all servers can speak English. But the food is just average. And they don’t have a variety of choices on their menu. We spent 100$ for two people. It sounds like a reasonable price in North America but as in Japan, definitely overpriced.

Vegan sushi and tempura is delicious. Sushi restaurant is on a separate floor, away from the noise of izakaya. Ambience of the restaurant is nice. It would be nice if they serve wasabi on the side.
