Yea luxury, romantic, quiet, kid friendly, great value, and high tech are all descriptors I cannot apply to this hotel. I’ve stayed in Holiday Inns with comparable levels of convenient spacing that were cheaper that had nicer rooms and more helpful staff. From what I can tell, this location is made of 3 towers, Main, Annex, and East. I’m told Annex is nicer, which is to say, acceptable. Currently in the main tower and I’m cancelling these next two nights as this is not what I paid for. It’s hard to trust any review that doesn’t state which tower, because it seems the experience is so vastly different between the three. In the morning breakfast is in the main tower from 6-10. I can’t say how the food was because I never got there. Our room reservation for 3 magically became 2, and so we were down one card key for breakfast and couldn’t eat. On top of that, massively crowded. Granted there are other restaurant buffet style establishments in the tower, but I can only imagine they were just as busy. Way too many people on the first floor for comfort. Oh and it’s proximity to the Shinagawa Station. It’s neat. But if you’ve been traveling Japan for a bit you’d know that the Shinkansen isn’t everything. It’s costly, and does take you great distances. But it isn’t your primary mode of travel. You could make use of Japan’s renowned taxi services and get to any nicer and probably cheaper hotel just a stones throw away for very little cost. Or take a railway car to get closer to your primary stay. With how cost and delivery stand now, it genuinely feels like the location is just an excuse to price gouge people who don’t know better. Anyways yea. Very stressed now and upset. Wouldn’t recommend.

All in all I would NOT recommend staying at this hotel. I honestly have few good things to say about this hotel. The rooms we booked were the Standard Twins these are assumedly the 'budget' offering at this hotel which at $240 a night, is not what I expected. The room we had was dated and very noticeably worn. The walls were badly marked, the furniture literally broken at the seems, the desk scratched and scuffed, the bathroom has stained tiles and grout, there is chunks missing from the skirting and a literal hole in the bathroom wall. The bathroom also has a significant step up into it, about 20cm. The beds were also hard and quite uncomfortable. In addition to this, the room is terribly appointed, basic items such as only having one usable PowerPoint available, not providing teaspoons, however there is only 2 black teabags and 2 green teabags provided, no coffee, creamer or sugar. The customer service was fine, no complaints here. The hotel has a large about of bowling lanes, and a small arcade at the bottom of it which is pretty cool. In terms of location, Shinagawa is a great spot to stay, usually priced cheaper than more central Tokyo. I would recommend staying on the other side of Shinagawa station, as this side of the train station has far less food/restaurant options nearby.

I live very close to the hotel and I just booked a reservation in the Prince Hotel, because I would like to use the swimming pool with my little son. However, during the checking, I was informed that I just can use the swimming pool if I had booked a swimming pool plan in the moment that I did my reservation. But there is no clear information in English available in their website and also, there is no information that you can choose only one specific period to use the swimming pool. The hotel staff informed that I needed to cancel my checking and reservation and book another reservation with swimming pool plan included, however, this new reservation would be almost the double amount that I already paid, just to use the swimming pool for 3 hours. This hotel is not friendly for foreign, because during the checking, I received some forms,/instructions only in Japanese and the staff informed that there were no English forms available. I did not find their email address to send this complaint directly to them, In summary, I cancelled my reservation and went back to home with my son, that he was very frustrated with the situation.

Beautiful hotel with any service you can think of available at this location. Additionally is right across the street from Shinagawa Station. Which makes it perfect to move around. Additionally, there are multiple shops and restaurants right outside of the hotel. While the rooms are kind of small (most rooms in Japanese hotels are) they include all the necessities needed. Lastly the rooms are always clean and some of them provide a really good view of the city.

Great place to stay with family. It's pretty close to the Shinagawa station. It's in the midst of the shopping center. You get a discount for the aqua park. The dolphin show is completely different from what you see in other countries. Must see if you are in or visiting Tokyo .

Good location. There are a lot of restaurants near the hotel. In addition, the Maxwell aqua park just beside the hotel. It's convenient for parents with kids. The first floor restaurant is for breakfast and dinner with buffet. The food of buffet is good. Only one suggestion for restaurant is do not play same music always. It's a little bit uncomfortable for customers.

We stayed in the annex tower which is supposed to be 4 star, and the room was dirty and had stains all over the carpet and walls. Did not feel clean. I was very unimpressed for the price. Felt more like a 2 star hotel. I live in Japan and have traveled a lot and have stayed in many 2-3 star hotels that were nicer and cleaner than this. Location was convenient but skip it and stay elsewhere.

The room was clean, the view was great. A wide choice in breakfast restaurants. The airco was Ok. Disappointing was the gym. 1800 yen for one hour and only open after 10am.

This hotel is very conveniently located, just one block across the shinagawa station. It has high end stores nearby and trendy restaurants. It’s a very busy hotel with a lot of guests and so the check in line is long. However, the elevator is very well and efficiently organized so that you don’t have to wait long to get to where you want to go. In fact, it’s perhaps the best elevator experience I have ever had. The highlight of my stay was the buffet restaurant on the first floor. It has Japanese, Chinese, Western and desert stations. Each has quality food and they are even not stingy with garnishing. The Chinese dim sum is authentic and well made and the sushis are of course fresh and tasty. You have to save space for deserts. They range from bite sized cakes to fruit cups to ice creams. Because the food is so good, the two hour limit goes by very quickly. It’s totally worth awhile for the 7000 yen price.

A very nice spacious hotel with clean rooms and perfect service. The room has everything you need from toiletries to an iron. The view I got from the window is awesome. The staff is very helpful. If you need public transportation, shinagawa train station is only 5 minutes walk. The hotel consists of many towers. You find a food court, two swimming pools, restaurants, a gym, mini golf, a convenience store, a cinema and shops.

It is a typical Japanese hotel, at the weekend it is crowded, in the week a bit more better. The room is small but big enough for me. Everything is clean and it is very quite. The breakfast was very good. There was no gym in the hotel, but a pool. The surrounding area has everything what you need for food. The train station for JR is in opposite, so you can reach really quick any place in Tokyo and even the airports. For a 2day stopover it was a good place to stay.

We were shocked when we arrived at the hotel at midnight. Our room which the hotel website stated could take 5 people was a cramped twin room with 2 single beds and a tiny sofa which was too short for my 150-cm tall child. We verified with the hotel staff and were told the small room was indeed the one we booked. The maximum occupancy of this room should have been 2 adults and 1 child, not 3 adults and 2 children! The room was also not clean — there were strands of long hairs behind the sofa, the teaspoon was sticky and even after a day of housekeeping, there was trash lying around that was not picked up. The bedroom slippers were removed and not replenished, though housekeeping service was quick to replenish after receiving our call. Note that this was the newer block (Annex block) of the hotel, yet the rooms were still small. The room was also more expensive than the main block. The Annex block is an odd setup with the reception on the 7th floor. Anyway, we had to book another room in the same hotel so that we would not have to cramp in that tiny room. This second room was in the main block which was older, and there was no USB port provided to charge devices unlike the room in the Annex block. Perhaps the location was the only redeeming feature of the hotel.

The room was tiny like a shoe box. Everything is suitable for small people. Even the toilet was very hard for tall people. Nevertheless the location was good, staff were friendly and hospitable. It's definitely (Tokyo) cleaner than Singapore, no doubt. Breakfast could be better as everything is beef or pork. Vegetarian option pls.

One treadmill out of two was not working. It is required to sign an agreement to use the gym. And this two treadmills and two bike only gym is the facility for a 300 guest room hotel. Also I do wish them to fix the elevator signs. This might be an average 2 starts hotel for some other countries. But it is so wrong for Japanese lever. This is the worst service hotel I have used. I hope they will get better.

Great location, fantastic staff. Clean room with good facilities. Walking distance from Shinagawa station with excellent connections throughout Tokyo and rest of Japan. Delicious breakfast includes Japanese and Western food, varieties of beverages, and desserts. It has many restaurants. The convenience store in hotel premises which is perfect. The staff were polite and patient.

Easily accessible from Haneda airport and you can pretty much access anywhere of interest within a 30min commute by train. There isn't much to do around the hotel so we spent our evenings somewhere else and came back just to sleep. We had a corner room with a nice view of the Tokyo tower but the room itself was a bit dated. Room was clean and breakfast buffet was definitely a highlight of our stay. Staff was very nice and luggage check on site was useful.

The Shinagawa Prince Hotel is an excellent choice for those looking for easy Shinagawa line access. The rooms have some age and wear to them, but are completely liveable. The staff are all business, but provide great prompt and exceptional service. The hotel is surrounded with excellent attractions that anyone would enjoy, such as an aquarium, movie theater, shopping, and many restaurants. The views from the hotel is also great! Make sure to confirm at check-in that the room is a non-smoker room, as we were provided a smoker room by the automatic check-in machine. To circumvent this, try to check-in with the front desk if possible.

Rooms do not have individual air conditioning and heating systems. The entire hotel is either set to heat mode or cool mode. So if the hotel is set to heat mode, your air conditioning will not work. Our room got up to 24°C/75° and we could not cool it down! It was super uncomfortable.

Not ideal hotel for holiday or business trip. Room is horrendously small with a single bed leaning on the wall. Aircon ventilation is really bad. Window is probably the smallest I have seen. Accessible to foodcourt though at 2F. And a 7-11 convenience store at same floor.

N Tower: small room, smaller bathroom - not suitable for european standard people. I find it hard to believe that 2023 Japan holds this for the visitor who comes from around the globe. Fun fact: while traditionally in JP you eat with chopsticks, when asking for it for my breakfast they said it is not possible and I should use the wooden fork instead! What a mess..! Also the cleanliness is okay, have to give 2 stars for that.. ++ don't fall for business lounge use for free with drinks you can take to your room, it is what it says, a lounge with drinks but in reality we are talking about coca cola or soda you can take in a paper cup

On pen and paper it’s a 3 star hotel, but I found Shinagawa prince hotel nothing short of a 4 star property. Within 500 metres to Shinagawa station, and hence very conveniently located, the prince hotel offers deluxe rooms with a great view of the surrounding (sometimes the view resembles Las Vegas if you are on a high floor), all modern equipments and amenities and for breakfast too you have couple of choices. The breakfast spread is vast and comprises of a lot of local as well as continental options, look out for the native drinks, such as native happiness, relaxation etc. The ever-growing hotel chain has a lot of towers and managing to find your own tower can be a little bit cumbersome on the first day.

So close to the JR train station and great overall rooms. Keep in mind Japan hotels have twin beds and small bathrooms per their cultural norms.

  • 3/5 Lei Y. 8 months ago on Google
Location is pristine. Rooms are small but enough for a single person or a couple. Hygiene can be improved, and the overall furnishings are dated. The most inconvenient part is the long line for baggage check in the morning. Needed to reserve at least 20 minutes to get through the line.

  • 2/5 Alex T. 2 months ago on Google • 9 reviews New
An unfortunate experience. Avoid this hotel at any cost, or be prepared to queue for 30+ mins to check in (even 5pm) and 40+ mins for baggage service. The room is bigger than average Tokyo rooms but needs an refreshment. The staff is obviously overworked and has no hospitality. I would not recommend anyone unfortunately.

Huge hotel with crazy amount of rooms. The breakfast hall can accommodate easily 400 people but still long queue to enter. Rooms are run down due to too much usage.

It is conveniently located about a 5-minute walk from JR Shinagawa Station. A 7-Eleven convenience store is also located inside the hotel, making it very convenient. The beds are rather hard, and the shower is a type that mixes cold and warm water, giving the impression of being somewhat old-fashioned in terms of facilities. You can hear the voices of the rooms next door quite well, so if privacy is a concern, I would not strongly recommend this hotel.

Located super close to Shinagawa Station, which connects you to pretty much everywhere- including Shinkansen 🚄 trains. Hotel is made up of 3x buildings, connected with a small mall or outside shops. I stayed in North Tower, which was a bit cheaper. Nice area and a collection of restaurants nearby. Rooms were small and basic - not many hangers if you are staying more than a couple of days. Kettle in room but you will need to buy tea and coffee and sugar or bring with you. Reception staff were great and service really good. Only grumble was that you were charged to use the swimming pool (around £25 + sunbed charge £10-15 from memory) which seemed greedy. Also you were charged to enter the rooftop bar (which is amazing). 50% discount for hotel guests. Would stay again, but would upgrade room if I did.

The hotel rooms are larger than I expected. The mattress showed extreme signs of wear when I checked for bedbugs (there weren’t any). The walls are thin, I could hear the people in the room next door talking and laughing when I was trying to go to sleep. Also, pay extra for an upper floor. This was my view. The staff is very unhelpful. Despite this being a western-style hotel chain, they speak very little English. I don’t expect to come to another country and have them cater to me but they rush you along signing things when you check in in Japanese. So be sure to read all the fine print BEFORE you get there. I lost my key and they were very upset about it (perhaps it is a cultural difference, and they never lose things?) Anyway they made me stand in two different lines and charged me to get a new one. The staff at the restaurant in the morning and even the lobby manager were all rude. The only pleasant and kind person was the woman who put my baggage on hold for me. I promise I approached them politely. Twice I had staff obviously ignore me when I asked for help and they helped the Japanese person behind me instead. I would try a different hotel if I traveled here again. It was a disappointing experience.

Absolutely loved this hotel - although it is a bit dated (not as modern as I would've liked, but it was luxurious in that more 'vintage' sort of way). However, seeing the sunset past mount fuji on my top floor room is something I will never forget

The best part about this hotel is the location. It's very near to the station and it only takes 30 mins to Haneda. If you have morning flight, this area is a good area for you to stay. The 2nd best part is the cleanliness. Despite the room is old, it's super clean, especially the toilet. The towels are as white as new so it's super good. The size of the room like other hotels in Japan is small so it's a bit difficult to open 2 luggages on the floor. But the bathroom size is decent. The receptionist was not so friendly. We understood that his English is broken so he cant answer properly but the gestures and the expression were not friendly at all. They shouldnt put someone like that to welcome guests because 1st impression matters. We only asked if we can get early check in but he asked us to go the the baggage storage without answer properly not politely. And they dont even have any charging stations in the lobby so there is no option for us who wants to take rest from long flight and wait for the room to be ready, to wait in the lobby area.

The location conveniency is great , my checking in took too much time and forever, I guess my room wasn't ready and instead of offerring me a seat to while preparing my room, this Guy keep on doing some kinda talking delays and i stood for like 30 minutes and realize the huge line after me and besides me were all checked in. What a stress! 💔front Desk is absolutely unprofessional , need more training. Room atmosphere not bad , But Tea cups in the guest room should have handles, you cant carry or handle it after preparing Tea, so useless! Breakfast was good with clean atmosphere, variety of food and Beverages , Hotel Needs English speaking staffs too, seems like don't have interest in foreigners , very heart breaking.

Affordable hotel and very centrally located (Shinagawa station is a main hub station - Shinkansen, JR lines and Keikyu). The hotel itself is OK, most staff speak English and there is a good level of service. It does have quite good facilities surrounding it. Cinema, bowling alley, karaoke, food court & aquarium - all directly accessible without leaving the building. Also has some great views from the dining area on the top floor and there is a pool for the warmer months (not sure if you need to pay extra to access it though). Downsides: Room sizes are a little on the small side and dated in some parts.

Wow! I really felt like I was being treated like royalty at this hotel. I was here for Love Live Fest 2020, and the staff knew and were very enthusiastic about it. When we first arrived we were a little lost, but a staff member quickly guided us to the correct desk. Many ammenedies provided in the rooms and they were restocked daily. Complimentary breakfast buffets are open from different times and they were great! Rooms were CLEAN and beds were comfortable. I had a beautiful view of the city as well. The hotel is located across the street from the train station so transportation is easy. And there is easy access to food everywhere. I'm excited to come back again!

Went as part of a vacation package for a concert. A very impressive hotel complex. And I mean a COMPLEX. There is a lot to do that's part of the complex (bowling alley, movie theater, etc) so it's useful for long term travelers who want a rest day. For the number of rooms the lobby was very pleasant and spacious. The included breakfast was very good and had many options. The room I had in the main tower were a bit dated (hence the 4 stars versus 5) but very comfy and pleasant. I would consider staying here again, especially since this is one of the most cost effective hotels in Tokyo's business area. I also recommend it as a transit hotel for both airports and the Shinkansen!

  • 4/5 Anna B. 4 years ago on Google
The rooms are somewhat small so if you've got big bags for long trips, pay for the bigger rooms. There is a coin laundry on site which is convenient but the dryers aren't exactly efficient. Self check in and out very useful too to save the long lines. The roof top bar was a rip off with a cover charge and you can't chargeback to the room. Convenient location to the train station. Good food options.

  • 4/5 Kenjiro Y. 2 years ago on Google
Maybe the best value hotel to stay in Shinagawa right in front of the JR station. You can tell it's a well maintained older hotel, but that also means relatively bigger space compared to newer business hotels. Internet was smooth. 50-60mbps and had no issues streaming and playing games. Really don't have much to complain about. Very well staffed. Everything was clean. Some wear and tear from the age (scratches on the table, torn wallpaper). Bed was super hard, but I was strangely able to sleep thanks to the silence. Downstairs has limited food. There seems to be a lot of western choices like TGIF which Japanese people like, but I don't as a person from the US. Shinagawa itself is not the best place to stay if you are exploring Tokyo it's more of a business district. However, it's a good place if you are just using it as a starting point to take trains everywhere. There isn't much in the area other than A LOT of people working (which is fun to see too) and an aquarium.

Staff across the board was helpful. I think it is also probably because we tried our best to communicate, including using a translator app. They helped us with eatery and venue suggestions and reservations. Cleaning staff was super good about the cleaning and was really polite. Front desk staff accommodated out limited Japanese language capabilities. We saw lots of international visitors besides ourselves, and this looks to be a hub for the locals to stop to get food, snacks, and take a break or to stay if working in the area. We are enjoying our stay and will be back again.

Walking distance from Shinagawa Station. If you’re coming from the airport, know that there are a few places where you’ll have to lift your bag(s) over kerbs and stairs. The rooms in the Annex are bigger than the ones in the Main building. The breakfast in the Main building is opulent to put it mildly. A couple of 7-11’s and Lawsons (convenience stores) and drug stores are all around. There’s a halal Indian restaurant around the corner from the hotel, an Italian pizza place and some really nice sushi restaurants.

Fist day in and I really don't like this place. Check in was total disaster. I arrived early and the receptionist was very nice and told me that my room will be ready in 30min which was very nice But i was really in hurry with very tight schedule so i didnt really need to check in and just wanted to leave my luggageamd go. I was asked on return time which was in 5h later. Upon checking around 5.20pm, lobby was very crowded and there was a line to check in. Waited around 20min and then only to find out that my luggage is not in the room. I needed to refresh and head out for another appointment straight away so this was a very big inconvenience to me. I believe Japanese people do appreciate that being late is extreamly rude, hence i was very disappointed that a very basic service was not provided. The reception lady did her best and personally chased my luggage and delivered it just as I was leaving for my appointment so I do really appreciated her effort. It was not her fault and she was great, so thank you to her. I trully appreciate it. Then comes breakfast. They call it "luxury dining". I'm not sure which part of it was luxurious. It felt like I walked in to an overcrowded school cafeteria and was sandwich between 2 tables with hardly any personal space. I wanted to cry. This place is miserable. But the food was really good I must admit, so point here. Of course there was a line here as well but it moved very quickly, hence that was good. I won't come back here tomorrow for sure. Even though It will greatly inconvenience me but I'll rather wait for the other cafe to open at 9am to avoid this misery here. My last days in Japan after one month and this place just leaving a bad taste and memory for me. Very sad and disappointed. One more day here so let's see what's next to come. Overall, this place is for people who can afford to waste time and are not here on tight schedule like me and dont mind large crowds. I cannot imagine staying here for business ever. P.s room is nice so big point here, but the TV position is horrible. I wish I could move it to the side..

This is a massive hotel complex with 3,600 rooms across three towers. It includes a number of restaurants, a good court, bowling alley, an IMAX theatre, gift shops and more. Guests are usually overseas travellers. The rooms are quite dated and small. The best part is the location. Taxi drivers in any part of Tokyo will know how to get you there if you quote the hotel name. Tips: 1. It is good value to get breakfast included in your room booking. The range of food is amazing. They have something for most Asian and Continental palettes. 2. The breakfast restaurants get busy fast. They often have a queue outside within 45 mins of opening. So get in early. 3. The rooms vary greatly in quality across towers and are priced accordingly - so choose carefully. 4. They do not have irons in the rooms but will gladly lend you one with a tiny ironing table. They will need them back within an hour or two.

We stayed here for one night after 19 hours of travel and prior to catching the train to Tokyo the next morning. The room was affordable for a last minute booking. The hotel is about a 1 min walk from the station and clearly sign marked so no need for google maps! The is a 7 Eleven on the second floor or the annex tower which was great for breakfast and getting out Japanese yen. There is a couple of restaurants near by to grab a quick bite after our long trip. The rooms were clean, the staff were friendly and check in and check out was easy, and the staff were happy to help. I would highly recommend this hotel after a long trip, and Shinagawa station and getting to your hotel is significantly easier to navigate than Shinjuku when you are exhausted after a long day of travel.

Across the street from the railway station, ver convenient but a bit too far from attractions. Rooms are a bit on the small but they are ok. Great breakfast. However: on a Sunday at 7.30 am the line for breakfast was probably half an hour long! The staff at luggage lockers speak only Japanese and I had to go twice because they denied I had three pieces (first they just gave me my umbrella, then I was able to get one of my packages and had to go the following day for my second bag. Thank heavens I had written my name on the bags!
