It’s Tokyo’s Manneken Pis (statue in Brussels, Belgium). There used to be one at Tokyo Station but it was stolen in the 1972. The outfits change once a month, around the 22nd. The statues was donated in 1952 by a dentist in a nearby building because Tokyo was still rebuilding after WWII and it was a piece of public art in the city to commemorate an anniversary. The ladies were worried the boy might be cold and started dressing him up. Now, the station does it with pride a a symbol of the area — on platform 3 inside (you need a ticket to see it). It was removed for about a month for renovations in summer 2018 but returned at the end of the platform. Don’t drink the water! I’ve heard it’s recycled water, but if you do, you should be okay.

Little monk just had a change of outfit (every 22nd of the month). It is at the opposite end of North Exit, platform 4.

Fun thing to check out if you're at the Hamamatsucho Station . They dress it up for different seasons, so it's also fun to come back every few months to see what he is wearing. Be advised, this is NOT a drinking fountain, but to each their own...

Platform 3-4 Hamamatsuchō Station 浜松町駅. I walked all over this platform to find it. But since I had time to kill. It was worth it.

The best things can happen when you miss your train to Shinjuku! Found this piece of art @ the end of the Hamamatsucho Stn. and had to find out more about it. Locals nearby informed me a Station Officer was looking for something to commemorate the 80 years of railway operations in Japan and a local dentist offered this statue. They even change his outfit once a month! Note: Not a drinking fountain...

Located at the end of Hamamatsuchō Station platform (front of train heading towards Shinjuku). I recommend sitting or standing at the very front of the train and If you’re quick enough you can hop out and take a few pictures and get right back on the train. Or you could admire it longer by waiting for another train that comes right after. The costumes change with every holiday. The photos were taken in the middle of October.

Funny place ! You need to be inside the station to find him at the end of platform 4, opposite of north exit. So don’t leave the station as I did 😅.

It’s at the very end of the platform if you are having trouble finding it. (Platform #3 I think)

(Translated by Google) When I first saw it, I was surprised that there was such a thing in the home. At each event, the clothes are changed and cute. (Original) 最初見た時はホームにこんなのあるんだと驚きました。イベントごとの時は服が着せ替えられていて可愛いです。

(Translated by Google) Monthly Manneken Pis. It's on the edge of the platform, but the Yamanote line is so short that trains come by while I'm going to take pictures. (Original) 月替わりの小便小僧君。 ホームの端っこにあるのですが、山手線は間隔が短いので、撮りに行く間に電車が来ちゃうんです。

This is a little statue of a peeing monk (think Brussels but lower key) located at the end of the platforms. If you're in the station it's worth a gander (be careful walking down the narrow platforms), but don't go out of your way for it :)

👍👍 The nursery rhyme "Akai Kutsu" is a well-known nursery rhyme, and was often hummed as a child. I think each girl who wore the red shoes in this song and the song had various thoughts. The song "Akai Kutsu" written by Ujo Noguchi was based on a true story. A girl statue with red shoes stands in Yama...

🫤 There are festivals featuring Perry in the Uraga area, but what's the point in honoring someone like this, who has such bad humanity and is like a pawn of American imperialism? It's also located in a location that seems to be facing Zojoji, the family temple of the Tokugawa family! I guess there's n...
