Best ramen I had so far! I love it here. It’s an unique atmosphere and especially suited if you eat alone. But I have also been here with friends so that works as well :) I highly recommend to get an Egg to your Ramen. They are awesome! Perfectly cooked. This became my go to place when I am in Tokyo :)

I remembering having one of my first ramen in Japan at ichiran and loving it. Over the years, I learn about other types of ramen and thought my taste buds would be refined and something like ichiran would not be something I fancy anymore. I was so wrong. Sometimes, your first love is still the best.

Clean, efficient and fast service. U may see which slot is vacant from the board. Noodle, taste are adjustable based on yr preference. If you come two person, the board in between can remove. Some people like to order rice to mix with the soup once noodle is finish. Their soup taste is not so strong compare to other ramen shop but this taste is just nice for me. Love it. But the dessert probably not my type

A delicious experience. Ramen can be personalized. For a Ramen shop is really quiet and lacks “enjoyment” but it truly fulfill its purpose

I went here at this location during my visit in Tokyo. The location is easy to get to near shimbashi station. I went there at 2 pm and there is no queue at all. The noodle still the best and i like it on the light side as it is not too salty. There is no matcha pudding on this location that I like and I felt dissapointed. But overall, for people who just want noodle, it is a good place to go and if there is a queue, it will be indoor.

Tasty ramen. Ichiran ramen is one of the most famous Hakata ramen in Japan and in the world. They are well known as the noodle shop which has a check-list for your requirement of the noodle soup before cooking ; such as texture of the noodle, richness of the soup, etc. You have to buy the ticket at ticket machine once you enter the shop (cash only) and then submit the ticket in a private box (person by person). You can re-order from your box without going back to the vending machine. You can also order additional boiled noodle and put it into your first bowl which the noodle finished but still some soup left. I like the taste but still the second to the most favorite Hakata ramen of mine. Price is not cheap considering that it's a noodle soup but still affordable. What I dislike is the complicated process before eating.

I always wanted to try this restaurant when I first visit Japan. I was blown away with their ramen. I like the concept of being able customize my ramen to the way I like it . My fiancé and I both came again to Ichiran at another branch cause we loved it so much. Make sure to come early or the line will be long. We will definitely can’t wait to come back to Japan to try it again.

Fairly typical Ichiran- great place & tasty quick ramen, but 2/5 on atmosphere for this particular branch because it's typically quite packed- not as private as is standard for Ichiran. Folks shuffle in around behind you and seem to go there in groups which to some extent defeats the point. Still worth it for late night post-work cravings before last train

Went very late night so no problem getting a seat. The order system is very clear and easy & I love you can completely personalise your noodles. You can go in & out without saying a work and the ramen really is something.

I was there on a Sunday night 1030pm. Thinking there are no queue but I was wrong. There was about 10 people ahead of me. However the queue was cleared pretty fast. Took me only about 20 mins to be seated. The ramen is fantastic! Especially the broth. This is a place that you need to visit when in Japan. Highly recommended!

Very easy way to try a ramen dish for the first time as a foreigner. The signs and order machine have english available, there was line but it went down quickly. I loved the individual mini booths, made eating alot more comfortable. Certainly recommend for first time visitors that aren't confident with speaking Japanese or are too worried about being turned away from Japanese restaurants due to not being able to communicate well enough.

Restaurant was not easy to find, it is located at a higher floor inside of a building. Food was great, atmosphere was a bit like a fast food chain, but definitely worth it for the affordable price and efficient service. The line for waiting was pretty long (20 min or more)

The taste of the broth is tasty as always (been quite a fan since 10 years ago). I prefer the thick broth, strong taste, and spicy one. (But the price has been increasing around 200-300 yen since back then) This Shinbashi branch is a good spot on weekends since it’s not crowded but still some line. But the capacity of the restaurant is not big. In this branch, the partition between stall cannot be opened. When I want to eat ramen but without knowing specific restaurant to eat, Ichiran is a good choice.

Ichiran is a great place for socially awkward people or people who want to just enjoy ramen alone with no conversations or interactions with others. They served only one type (tonkosu) ramen after covid though due to labor shortages.

Eating at Ichiran Ramen was an enjoyable experience. The individual booths provided a unique dining environment that allows patrons to truly savor their meal. The ramen was delectable and full of flavor. The staff were also helpful in guiding newcomers through the ordering process.

The ramen was tasty with lots of options for customization (richness, noodle firmness, spice level) and there is the ability to order extras at the counter. Beyond that, having ramen in a private booth where the bowl is passed directly to you by the chef is an absolutely extraordinary experience. This restaurant is open until 6am for any late-night cravings, but we went much earlier and were seated almost immediately. The menus have an English option and the staff speak English, so it is also super accessible for tourists. Highly recommend!

Can’t go wrong with Ichiran; a staple of ramen. As usual order it how you like with quick and efficient service. Arrived at 12pm on a Sunday with about 15 people ahead but the line moved quickly. Seated at 12:20 and done eating by 12:45. Not the cheapest but you have to try at least once. Good for introverts also.

The level of customisation you have over your meal means that this place suits any tastes. If you don't like something, then just mark your order card appropriately! (you get one before you're seated an hand it through the window to your cook when you are seated). I only tried ramen but they offer some extra dishes too. The ramen is very good but maybe not on the level of some smaller local places for me. Great meal all the same!

For a chain the ramen is amazing. Everything is customizable to your liking. Easy initial ordering at the machine and can circle preferences on a separate form provided at the booth. Tonkotsu is my preferred ramen and Ichiran did it justice. I like the individual booths that give you privacy, but can still talk with friends next to you if needed. There are hooks on the wall behind the seats to hang bags and umbrellas. Once done eating you just get up and leave. This place is very popular so it’s suggested to get there outside of peak lunch or dinner times because the line gets long.

A fun experience to sit in a solo booth with bamboo curtains that open and shut for delivering food right onto your booth. I know this place is super famous, but the noodles was just a bit too doughy for my preference. I do recommend their matcha almond pudding with green tea sauce. Super yummy!

April 5th, 2023 First time ever trying Ichiran Ramen. Although it's known as a tourist trap, we had to try it regardless. Ramen is not bad but the overall experience was fun. I enjoyed my lunch there before heading to Ueno Park for the day. Cheers and thank you once again

Amazing tonkatsu ramen. Expect to wait up to 40 mins or so to find a spot here. I came super early so had to wait only 10 mins. In case it is your first time, you will have to order your ramen from a kiosk . Then you will be asked to fill out a preference form with how you like your ramen. My recommendation there is to go for a “rich” broth as it is much more creamier. Then you find an empty table which you can see on the display and go there. You can pay with credit cards or your IC card as well. But any extras you order inside, eg, extra noodles you pay with cash.

I went by myself for lunch, had to wait for something like twenty minutes in line but boy it was worth it. The service was quick and flawless, i really loved the cold water faucet and the privacy of the single booth. The ramen was perfect, the soup was well balanced and creamy.

a good consistent chain you can’t go wrong with. I like that you can customise the ramen thickness, spice and oil. It seems to have gone up in price over the last few months. The both isn’t as rich or complex as other places

Ichiran is my go-to chain for a quick Ramen fix when in Tokyo. This branch is everything ID expect and the raman was delivered quickly promptly and tasted exceptionally delicious as it usually does. Opens at 1000am so it's great for a late brea to kick-start the day. English menu available.

Great ramen experience. A lot of options to configure your dish as you like. For about 1200yens you can eat more than you need. All the seats are individuals. Highly recommended

LOVE Ichiran - the ramen is amazing 🤩 Super quick and easy ordering and the food is so good! It's a must if you like ramen!

No queue for this branch. The restaurant is quite large, about 30 seats which is great for popular Ichiran. Good service. Got English menu.

Fun ramen restaurant with dependably good ramen. It may not be super traditional, but I appreciate that you can add 1-10 spice. I went after the lunch hour rush and was able to sit right away and be out in ~15 min. Great service and delicious food. I also appreciate the perfectly cold water tap at each seat, which goes very nicely with a spicy (7/10) bowl of ramen.

Best ramen in japan!!! Super fast and efficient service. Order on machine and give ticket to staff with chosen options. Soup is rich and noodles good texture. Must try!!!! Ate ichiran 2-3x in week in japan! Chain, all are good.

The Ichiran Standard! Well managed place here, can recommend if you like the concept.

Foreigner-friendly. The location is in a basement under a narrow stairwell, but the food and service are worth it. It’s just a few steps outside of Shimbashi station. The vending ticket machine has clear instructions in both Japanese and English. It’s a tight squeeze in there, but my husband and I are on the larger side, and we still had no problem finding a comfortable seat. The broth was velvety and rich. I do, however, wish I would’ve tried a higher spice level. Medium spice was still a little weak for my tastes, and I’m not even a huge fan of hot foods. Regardless though, it was great food and a satisfying experience. We went around 3pm, and there was no wait.

Wow, the ramen was amazing. Love the individual booth and vending machine ordering. Just sit in your booth and wait for your meal to be delivered from behind a small curtain. The family loved it. There was a queue when we arrived but it is well worth the wait.

  • 5/5 Rob S. 4 years ago on Google
Excellent ramen and easy to navigate experience with very helpful staff. Ordering and payment is done from a machine at the front. Once a seat opens up, you are taken back to a small cubicle where you complete your order on a small card indicating things like garlic and spice levels. Ramen and extras are then delivered to you through the opening at the front of the cubicle.

This ichiran location is very cool. the ticket machine is newer but don't be scared of it. although it does seem to take longer than the standard machine at other locations. the broth at this location is amazing. it also seems it is not busy here at all. I was very surprised by how cozy it is. this is definitely one of the best ichiran locations and if you're in the area you should try it.

  • 5/5 Janitra E. 2 years ago on Google
Is this a tourist spot? Yes, probably. But alot of japanese also ate here, and I didn't find any foreigner when I ate here. Does it offers a basic, yet interesting ramen experience? Yes. Big yes. I say if you're coming to japan for the first time, go here first. Customizable ramen and great taste. But probably just abit pricey when compared to the usual ramen places.
