The staff was super friendly and polite. We did SUP and enjoyed an amazing view of majestic Fuji.

This is an amazing camping spot location wise. However, way too commercialised. First of all we were sent away because of “no reservation”, although I sent a mail which is stated to do so on the webpage, no one ever replied. In the end it was ok that we stayed, not to say that 50% of the camping space was empty. You pay for each an everything, like we already bought a trash bag and payed extra to throw away the cans we bought at their vending machines? It is also stated that there is a restaurant and a shared kitchen, which both don’t exist. Since we were here with bikes and did not have any camping gear our own, we needed to find another solution how to eat. No possibility to even warm up our food for free, we needed to rent gear and buy a bottle of gas for a one time use? Charging phones is ok for free, however charging the gps watch needed for cycling is not? Very sad, this is an amazing spot to camp but we won’t come back.

Pros: best view of mt. Fuji right outside your tent. cleanest campground bathroom I've ever seen. Cheap. Laid-back. Clean and beautiful lake with a lot of activities available. Cons: can't make reservations. I was in line since 2am to get in the next morning. Full of people all year long. Can't have music or talk loud since people will be sleeping in tents a few feet away. Requires life vest to get in lake.

one of the best place to enjoy autocamp! and if the timing or season is good, you can see the beautiful Mt. Fuji mirrored in the calm lake... We will surely visit it...

Calm and clean lake water with green reflection. Many people visiting for SUP lessons or just a quick dip into the water. Koan Camping Ground somehow can be fully booked due to high season so my advice just look around the lake area to park your car and walk down to the lake.

Overrated jam packed lakeside camping. The dude at the front door is the biggest a-hole. Good luck finding a place to park and camp. Nothing assigned FCFS. Dogs barking everywhere. Good thing was when we couldn’t find a place to park the van we did get our 12,000¥ back. Yes 12,000 to park a hiace lol

Camping early December. Thought was freezing but luckily got some sun out and wasn’t bad. The lake is crystal clear and Mt Fuji in front of you was just breath taking. You can see so many stars at night. Surprisingly, the campsite was busy. (On the weekend) we arrived 10:30am and had to wait till 11:30am to get inside of the gate (don’t know why we had to wait.) the stuff wasn’t friendly much. The toilet was only one heated toilet. (4 toilets for women WC) It’s better with driving a car go early time.

If you're a fan of the anime "yuru camp" then koan camping ground is a must go! Whether for a day camp or overnight make sure you're well equipped for it Bring a blowup mattress if you're camping on the floor on the bank of the river as it is a little rocky! And go early as it can get really crowded on popular days! Try to also book in advance

Best view of Mt Fuji along a lovely lake. The camping grounds were completely occupied but relatively quiet and clean. Better reach early in the day to grab a spot as by the time we reached (around 3pm), all the spots along the lake were taken.

Beautiful and scenic location! We rented to paddle boards for 2,000¥ each/1 hour and paid 700¥ for parking - a total of 4700¥. We did not make reservations so I’m unsure if that only matters for the hotel/cabin on-site

One of the must see place in Japan... Best site for camping... You can see the view of mount Fuji & it's reflection on the lake.. If u are lucky u will get the perfect picture which is printed in 1000yen currency of Japan.. Really peaceful experience.. Please reach before sunrise..other wise you will miss those magic moments.... You can feel the nature... No words.. One of the most beautiful place.. Lake water is crystal clear, u can do the water sports as well. ( not hard sports,)..walking around the lake or cycling would be the best choice to absorb the complete nature..one of the moment in this life... Awesome experience..

The view here is truly remarkable, and it reminds me of the scenic beauty portrayed in the "Yuru Camping" anime. The sight of Mount Fuji from this spot is particularly captivating for a camping experience. I had high hopes of witnessing a stunning sunrise from my tent, but unfortunately, the thick fog obscured the view, leaving me with nothing but anticipation. You'll need to pay ¥100 for every 2 minutes of shower time, and the shower rooms are well-maintained. However, be cautious as opening the door before you finish your shower will result in losing all your remaining time and money. The amenities are a short 2-minute walk from the lakeside campsite. The toilet is small and not that clean. The tap water is drinkable, so you don't need to worry about your water supply. Additionally, there's a 24-hour vending machine where you can find hot soup and drinks. Adjacent to the reception area, there's a convenience store that offers a variety of Yuru Camping anime merchandise, along with basic provisions like bread, instant noodles, beverages, beers, firewood, and fire starters for your camping needs. The weather is super cold, don’t forget your warming things.

I don't recommend this place for travelers. They say it's 900 yen per person on the website for the overnight, but we payed 1600 yen. They charge the overnight plus the number of tents AND they charged our bicycles. We didn't have option because we arrived late and it was too dark to ride. Even though, they set the check out at 10 am. We payed as we had stayed the entire day, but we just came to sleep and leave. No empathy! Also, they have a coin shower. It's 100 yen for 2 min. You must be fast! The sink for washing dishes was disgusting. People left food inside it. Anyway, not a pleasent experience for us.

I just went there for the Yuru Camp / Laid Back Camp shop. The staff was very friendly, and it is allowed to take pictures. They have nice Yurucamp merchandise in the shop and it was a great and fun experience with an awesome view on Mount View in accordance with the 1000 Yen bill.

The best camping site if you want to see the fuji mountains, it’s also the 1000 yen photo taking spot. Have vending machines and can take shower($100 yen for 2 min).

You can camp next or near the lake here and enjoy the view of mount fuji in the morning! 🗻 There are no assigned places so during busy times it can get quite hectic. Which I personally didn't like. The toilets are okay, nothing special, but they are clean.

What an amazing camping location. A bit hard to get there without a car, but thats what makes it worth it. The view is amazing. It was a bit unclear how to make a reservation beforehand (I feel like you do need a reservation, since i feel i got really lucky when i got a spot without one). The place also can get crowded since its so popular. I recommend doing some kayaking and following the walking trail to the Nakanokura Pass View Point and the "パノラマ台 " observationpoint. Its around a 1 hour walk to get there i think, but so satisfying.

We had a campervan which we drove from Tokyo to Lake Motosu. The drive was very scenic and when we arrived at Koan Camping Ground, it was already very crowded with campers. Strangely, we enjoyed the experience because the campers were very quiet and respectful of our camping spaces. Here, we could see Mt. Fuji standing majestically across the lake. Indeed, the view was very magical!

First time camping in Japan! Perfect location with lake side and woodland camp grounds. Hosts do speak enough English to go through reservation process. Small gift shop and cafe was cute! A must for fellow campers who want a view of Fuji.

Didn’t actually get to camp there but wish to do so in the near future! The view was absolutely stunning and was extremely lucky to go on a day with clear blue skies so we were able to see mount Fuji.

Went on a day camp when Japan reopened because I watched Yuru Camp during the pandemic. Staff was very helpful and the location was stunningly beautiful. Only camped for two hours, but it was very fun and relaxing. Bonus points for Yuru Camp merch at the office!

Service is very friendly. The manga selection in the reading room is amazing. There is no restaurant but you can buy drinks and cup noodles at the reception. I stayed in the inn. The room feels almost nostalgic. Simple but comfy. Only visit if you have a car.

Such an incredible camping experience! Being able to wake up on Lake Motosu with Mt. Fujisan in the distance was the best part. Camping is first come first serve and you have to locate your own spot. The ground is sandy and a bit rocky, and leaning on a slope but besides that, you can make the best out of it. The lake water is so clear. You can go kayaking and it looks like you can rent kayak gear. There were many people paddle boarding as well. The bathrooms got dirty with the rain and the mud, but outside of the bathrooms there is water stations to wash your hands, face, and pots and pans. There are shower pods: ¥100 for 2 minutes. Check in process was great. The staff are kind and very helpful. Thank you so much for a wonderful experience!

A great place to camp and see Fuji at the same time. There are some big bugs that’ll scare you so good luck

Didn’t go to the camping ground but pulled back in the car for a moment. One of the greatest views of Mt. Fuji from all of the five lakes. Better if it’s during sunset.

A very popular camping ground, famous for its view of Mt Fuji as pictured on the 1000¥ bill. The campground is clean and has restrooms, showers and a washing area. Unfortunately, the camping spots are not assigned and even with a reservation, you are required to find your own spot. We arrived quite late due to heavy traffic and had difficulties to find a suitable spot for the night as it was very crowded. We ended up parking halfway into the road in a spot where the floor was sloped, which caused some weird sleeping positions. We were also quite close to other campers and it didn't have the feeling of being out in the nature as we hoped it would, being surrounded by so many people. Even if the view is great, I would prefer going to another camp site that has designated spots for reservations and more space per camper. It was disappointing to find that you pay for something and eventually it's not guaranteed as you have to be lucky enough to find an open spot. You can still enjoy the view of Mt Fuji from a nearby viewing spot without having to stay here.

The campsite is quite expensive but you will have a great view of Mt. FUJI. This is the scenery on the 1000 yen bill.😊
