First I have to say, the only reason for minus 1 star is that the beauty of the waterfall is not really in balance with the afford you have to take, to get there (train, bus) ~ around 1 hour from Osaka. The track was really nice to walk on, you don’t need special shoes, you don’t have to climb stones to get to the waterfall. There is no entrance fee. The track is in my opinion at least as beautiful as the waterfall itself. I recommend buying drinks as early as possible on this track in vending machines - it gets more expensive the more you get up. Overall: Beautiful and nature place but requires more time than other attractions in Osaka.

This place is an underrated gem in Osaka! The trail takes only about an hour and is beautiful and pleasant. You'll find various vending machines, restaurants, and cafes along the way. There's also a small insect museum. I highly recommend taking a stroll here during your trip to Osaka for a refreshing experience.

Very nice place. Public bathrooms to use snd they're clean. There are paved roads so it is very easy to walk around. Food to eat. Fun little side trip from Osaka. There are also temples and a bug museum. There are many places to eat along the way and even at the end. The specialty is fried maple leaves. They have nice ice cream and also have a ton of different yuzu drinks and food. It was very nice.

I went there in the afternoon and the sun was great. I saw some great falls but not so high. But, there weren’t so many people so this was great! Also, there is a river that you follow all the way to the waterfall and it is like fifty percent artificial so this was a bit disappointing. Also, there were loads of shops so this was good but they were destroying the view so this was also disappointing. Overall, it is a great tourist attraction (I even tasted fried maple leaves!) but it is a bit disappointing. The waterfall wasn’t so spectacular, the river was a bit artificial and there were too much shops. This is why I give this 4 stars.

Such a beautiful place for taking selfies or enjoying with family. Walking is needed . Parking is 20 mins far from waterfall and there are many parking but walking distance is very much . Free Toilet is available. Shops are available but only cash. Parking is like ¥500 for 1 hour and ¥1500 for one day. Must go place but please visit here with shoes 👟 only. Maple 🍁 leave fried is must try its sweet .

Here during early Jan 2024, can only see some maple leaves remaining. I think it would be worth it to come in autumn as there are many maple trees. At the entrance, take the flat walking path on the right instead of the stairs on the left. It is a hike up and down if you chose the stairs.. A few attractions here other than the waterfall along the way - Ryuanji Temple, and Bug Museum. There are a couple of shops along the way that are not open, only the shop closest to the waterfall is open.

Not very crowded when I went on a weekday. Not too steep of a walk to the falls. I made the full walk easily after recently recovering from ankle surgery. Lots of great photo spots, stops to eat and drink and bathrooms along the way.

Majestic place. We went there in the evening and it was so beautiful already, can’t imagine what it would have been if it was Autumn and in the day. Worth the walk to travel there as the view is amazing. You can expect an approximate 1hr walk there from the station at a comfortable pace!

Lovely place to walk around and bathe in nature. Popular place and has a big car park (which seems to be making the most of being the only one around!). Beautiful. Plenty of places to pick up snacks & drinks too.

Easy stroll up a paved walkway to the impressive Mino'o falls. About a 20 minute walk from the mino'o station on Hankyu mino'o line. If you are lucky you will see the wild red-faced monkeys. They come around seeking tourist food. DON'T FEED THEM. It is a nice easy hike but there are many challenging side trails. Very worth the trip. There is an onsen hotspring hotel down below near the train station

The waterfall located in a mountain, and from the nearest station you need to walk around 45 to 60 minutes. All the way to the minoh fall there are lots of food stalls and rest area. How ever it is a hard journey. You must in a good stamina. The way is uphill. But after you reach the destination. Your tiredness was pay off by the view. There are also some seats near the minoh falls for you can enjoy the spectacular view and delicious foods.

Beautiful waterfall and not too much of a walk from the closest station. Nice day trip and highly recommended. Seems fairly popular with dog owners as well so if you have one don't hesitate to bring it!

One of my favourite trails to hike/walk up even though it is summer season. For the season it was rather cooling despite the heat. The hike up was pleasant and peaceful as well. The waterfall and scenery was beautiful and the crowd wasn't too big at all. Would definitely recommend if you have an off day and nothing to do in Osaka.

Beautiful walk reachable with minimal effort from central Osaka, with quaint little cafes on the hiking route up. The route was well behaved, and whilst it was a little crowded, it wasn’t overwhelmingly so. Would recommend to visitors from Osaka.

The Falls itself is at the end of a 2 mile paved trail. And getting to the Falls was a beautiful walk through the forest along a winding stream. Along the way, we encountered a temple complex, a few monuments and plenty of facilities. We were initially confused about getting here, but eventually settled on arriving by train, which worked out well. The station is just steps away from the start of the trail.

The staff at train station was nice, I asked the way to get to the waterfalls, he immediately gave me a map of this place and around. I went there alone around 7.30 am. it was a bit quiet but not dangerous to walk alone. The weather was cold in autumn, the scenery along the way was incredibly beautiful and peaceful. the pathway is easy to walk, it took around 50-60 minutes to get there. It is not a large waterfalls but the combination of all the things around there made it is so beautiful.

Recommend to start at least 2 hours before sunset. It’s about 30 mins to 1h of walking to the waterfall from min-oh station. The walk is fine for me but my girlfriend‘s feet hurt during the walk due to improper footwear. There are quite a number of restaurants and vending machines along the way for you to grab a drink in case you needed any. This activity is very forgiving for people who are under prepared as there are loads of rest stops, toilets and vending machines.

The trek to the falls is quite spacious and paved, but it still takes time. I took around 30 minutes one way. The path is adjacent to the river, so the sounds from the flowing water soothes your tiredness when walking. The falls itself is quite large and there are a few camera spots and a viewing space at the side with benches. I think it is better to ho there at night especially if there is an illumination ongoing. The view with the lights is simply breathtaking.

Amazing place to visit. It takes about an hour to get to the waterfall but there are 2ways to go and one of them is paved road so it's not too much, but if you like you can take the mountain way (which I didn't take but heard it's lots of ups and downs and challenging). It has become one of my best fav place Update: tried and took mountain road, it was very therapeutic. It's pretty much just "mountain" with some wooden steps time to time that almost no one takes, so you feel like you are alone in the world and very therapeutic (also physically exhausting) except for some friendly encounter with other hikers. overall it was great. Loved it!

One of the best waterfall in Japan Overall place is very good. You have to walk upstream around 40 minutes from the station to visit the waterfall. But the path to the waterfall is very beautiful. I think autumn is the best time to visit this place.

Lovely place to visit on a sunny day. Not too much of a difficult walk from Minoo with just some short up hill section. The waterfall itself is beautiful and offers many photographic opportunities. Can get very busy.

2018の春 The road to the falls are closed because of the landslide but the hiking trail is definitely worth it because of the view! There's a hiking trail to Katsuo-ji Temple but because of limited time, went there by another way. Will definitely try someday! Best time to visit is Autumn season.

Really beautiful spot. A great walk through the gully with restaurants and street food peppered throughout the trail on the way up to the actual waterfall proper. Highly recommended to visit. The trail is kid friendly too.

Wonderful place! I enjoyed every moment of the walk from the statio of Minoh until the waterfall. In Autum with the red and yellow trees, it is just amazing! There are food stands in the way, apart from restaurants. There are bathrooms and some vending machines, but the nature is perfectly preserved! I look forward going again in the future and bring my relatives to see it 😭

Beautiful scenery and environment. Great for walking and just enjoying yourself. But be careful about the trail. It can be tiring. Thankfully there are many little clumps of shops and restaurants to refresh you.

I enjoyed the hike up more than the actually water fall, just a little too crowded. It’s a very easy hike where you can watch the local children do a spot of praying mantis hunting. Also recommend going in the autumn, we went a month too soon.

Not a bad hike close to the city and some good views. Takes about a little over an hour to hike up and back to the falls. There is a few interesting structures along the way, but the falls are not very impressive. I was more impressed with the vendors at the beginning selling all kinds of interesting things. They have real maple leaves you can eat. 😂

Waterfall in a picturesque valley, easily accessed on foot. You can walk from Minoh station on a small, paved road or drive to the parking lot on the hill above the falls and walk down from there. There are lots of cafes, souvenir shops and rest areas on the way. The falls are completely wheelchair accessible either from the station or the parking lot.

A good place for seeing autumn red leaves, but during Corona outbreak you should go in early morning to avoid tons of travellers. There is a paid parking lot nearby that's quite big capacity, from the parking lot takes only few minutes walk to the falls.

Great 2.2 I'm hike and a nice payoff at the end. If lucky you might experience the wild monkeys as I did on this day. He even stole a water bottle too.

This is where you can mingle with mother nature close to the city. I visited the site during the autumn. The weather is so perfect for a walk and the course to the waterfall from the station is just one hour maximum. You can enjoy food l, highly recommend the fried momiji for those who haven't tried, and splendid scenery. Walking along the small stream up to the waterfall can soothe your soul from the busy weekday life.

Very very beautiful in autumn. Bring some warm clothes for the kids if you bring them towards the falls. They may catch a chill like mine did even after I wrapped him up.

Lovely walk to minoh park about 40 minutes. In front of the train station, there is a lovely souvenir shop. The owner /clerk is a lovely lady who offered samples of her goods along with tea. Definitely check out. Minoh park is definitely a well worth side trip from Osaka

Enjoy the cooling hike up ( 1st week of May), not difficult route at all, don’t have steep slope, even more cooling standby in front of the waterfalls. Great for photos too with lots of greeneries.

Absolutely charming trail that’s pretty much suitable for everyone! If you are visiting Osaka I’d rank it as a must visit for nature lovers. Wheelchair friendly and plenty of vending machine and cafe spotted over the trail. Enjoy the fresh river air and cool shade from the forest canopy on a summer afternoon as you follow the rivers course.

This is hands-down one of the best experiences we had in Japan! It is a fun short hike (about 45 minutes to the waterfalls from the station), with stunning nature along the river up to the falls. Every moment you are surrounded by a beautiful forest, maple trees, you get to see a beautiful temple on the way and many shrines. There is a place aling the way where you can go down to the river itself and feel the water. The falls themselves are impressive and worth the hike. So if you have a half day to spare or you are tired of the crowded areas of Osaka, go here and just enjoy every step!

I'm not super fit so it's a pretty easy hike as I finished it :) There are some uphill parts but the scenery is beautiful and walking along hearing the sound of a river is always relaxing. There was a crowd at the waterfall and I had to wait a bit before I could get a picture with no-one in it. There are also snack shops at the top that serve ice cream as well as a couple of other things.

Love the autumn scenery. It pay for walking Along the track almost 1 hour. A lot of bench to take a break & snacking. Nice place to take picture & visit for nature lover.

Lovely walk up to Minoh Falls. It's paved all the way and there are no steep inclines. There are lots of little shops and eateries along the way to the falls. At the falls we had fresh cooked takoyaki as well as some grilled mochi balls on a stick. Delicious ! Extremely photogenic scenes on the walk up. Minoh Station is an easy 40 minute train from Osaka. The town of Minoh also worth a walk around. Clean fresh air and an easy half day excursion out of Osaka.

The hike from the station was pretty flat. Suitable for everyone. The scenery is stunning so the 30-45 minute walk was really enjoyable. I brought some lunch to eat there and enjoyed the sounds of the water and the fresh air. I will definitely come back here.

Gorgeous walk but incredibly crowded on the weekend. A weekday would be better if you can be flexible with your travel plans. Photos from Nov. 27.
