Tucked away in the back streets of Huddersfield - what a surprise. Delightful outside and tastefully decorated inside, my photos don't do it justice. The staff were excellent, friendly, welcoming and very efficient. My friend and I had a two course Christmas lunch. Beautifully presented, not as good to eat. The roast potatoes weren't crispy, the sausage in the pig in blanket wasn't very nice and the stuffing was typically 'Paxo' but the greens, mash, turkey and gravy were lovely. The Christmas pudding also wasn't to my taste, huge lumps of fruit with nuts on the outer rim, quite nasty, my friend however enjoyed it. Just shows its all a matter of taste.

I'd been told good things about The Scullery, and they are all true! Lovely people working here, who made us feel welcome, beautiful decor and amazing food. We came for brunch - got a booking the day before with no problem. Decided we were having a cheat day on our dietary requirements, and went for a full breakfast. All the food was delicious. Great sausage from Hinchliffe's, bacon that was full of flavour and had some sweetness somehow. Very tasty black pudding, and even the hash brown had a great texture and flavour (how do they do that with the unassuming has brown?). Stack of beautiful toast and French butter. Beans and mushrooms in little bowls. The eggs were just so perfect I could have wept, which isn't my normal response to food. I have to say it was a very special experience eating here; almost spiritual. Coffee was amazing - best I've had in a long time. We'll definitely be back soon (if we can get a table!)

My partner and I were in some need of cheering up so decided to treat ourselves to some dinner at the Scullery. Sunday menu is excellent value for money, we had 3 courses and feel absolutely stuffed. Quality of the food was great and wait staff attentive. Shall look forward to coming another time.

Just had an amazing Saturday afternoon family meal at the Scullery.6.5 people. Well done Helen , Steve and the staff, great service . Great portion sizes . Fantastic food. EG Muscles were fresh and delicious. Goats cheese truffles light and tasty the ultimate burger .. as described. Highly recommended 👍

Went for a meal with friends. We all enjoyed our meals, service was great and we sat outside for a bit with blankets!

We’ve dined here several times over the years. It’s a lovely, independent restaurant with a great menu and is consistently excellent. We’re very lucky to have such a hidden gem within walking distance of our home. Try it, you won’t be disappointed.

Celebrated a family birthday by having lunch at The Scullery today. It was fantastic. The friendly greeting sets the scene, you are then shown into a classy but comfortable dining area that has a lovely ambience. The staff are friendly and polite but not intrusive and the food was all fantastic. One of the party is vegetarian and there was plenty of choice for them too.

A hidden gem and another Sunday breakfast venue for us! (not many options left). The full English was a good size but not too much and the eggs Benedict was lovely. Everything was nicely presented. The coffee was good too. Look forward to trying out the lunches and evening meals sometime.

We stopped in for a working lunch on a Saturday, the inside was fully booked which was encouraging and because it was sunny we managed to get a table outside, which was also full within the hour another good sign. Service was prompt polite and professional. How they managed all the covers so quickly was impressive. Water served immediately to the table as we sat down,ordered drinks came quickly, menu and specials explained clearly, short 10-15 min wait for food. We had mussels, the quiche, the cod all cooked to perfection. Desert wise we had panna Cota, cheese cake and a Oreo Sunday, a single criticism I’ve had better vanilla ice cream in a sundae but that’s picking straws . Rare to find a family owed restaurant that’s managed to combine reasonable pricing with such good quality food in immaculate surrounding. Happy to recommend and would make a make a special trip just to visit again.

A really good find in Huddersfield that I randomly stumbled across. Friendly staff and nice interiors. Good choice on the menu, and the food was very good. The portions are however huge: would suggest you scale back on the size of the portions a bit! Next time we go, I will not have a starter to leave space for pudding!

Really can't rate this place highly enough. My wife had been previous to our visit and spoke highly of it so we came one Friday lunchtime. The place is nicely decorated with a lovely outside area. The food is gorgeous (I had tuna) and exceptional value. Good portion sizes, drink prices are good and the service was exemplary. The owner has obvious passion for his business. Will definitely be back and would recommend everyone to try!

Was in the area yesterday and found this gorgeous place on Google. Treated my son and we both loved it. Fantastic service and food. Will definitely call by again next time I'm in the area. Can't rate this beautiful restaurant enough.

We were a party of four and had been wanting to experience this restaurant for a while! Wow! What a find! Our expectations were high and we were certainly not disappointed. The menu was exciting and varied with specials of the day available and described informatively by the staff. Locally sourced fresh ingredients were a temptation and we all agreed we had made good choices when our meals were served by polite, personable, competent staff giving great service throughout our visit. The ambience was relaxing, friendly and professional, the decor beautiful & high quality! We loved it and hope to visit again very soon! Thank you to all who made our first experience ( and birthday lunch!) a good one! Very impressed!

Really beautiful setting, lovely food (although quite a small portion for the price) The service was so slow though... It was painful. Staff were lovely but it was like our table was a black hole. Couldn't be seen or heard. Took around 2 and half hours to have a burger and a drink

As always a great experience and amazing food. Our favourite place to eat out in Huddersfield. Friendly staff and great service. We always recommend The Skullery to anyone wanting amazing food :)

Eaten here a few times now and the food is always fantastic. But what makes it better is you can tell that they genuinely care about the quality they’re producing. (Sorry no pictures, I’m too impatient and dig in straight away).

Visited with my aunt for lunch. Wow....everything was just perfect! We had booked ahead as knew this was a busy spot plus it was a Saturday lunchtime. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome and offered the choice to sit outside or inside, as it was a little overcast but still warm, we decided to sit outside. The menu itself had plenty of choice and caters well for all dietary requirements. We both ordered from the specials, I had the Whitby dressed crab and my aunt had the sea bass. They were absolutely to die for! The portion sizes were very generous, there was plenty of crab plus it came with a huge salad and a side of potato salad which was delicious and my aunts seabass was cooked to absolute perfection and came with sauteed potatoes and mangetout. We were both full from our mains and champagne so opted to finish with just a coffee each. All in all we had a fantastic time, the food was top notch and the service was second to none, the staff couldn't do any more for us! We will definitely be back again! Thanks!

The indoor dining area was a tad warm for me so we asked if we could sit outside. No problem! I thought maybe they were down on a staff member or 2 but it didn't bother us. Taking time over eating and enjoying a drink is perfect. The waitress was lovely, polite, attentive. The main man came to take our food order and I jokingly said 'just feed us.2 starters, 2 mains and a bottle of wine!' He did exactly that and it was superb! Overall, we had a wonderful evening. 10/10 for me. Well done!

Visited with a friend for lunch on a sunny day. Very nice setting although, as you are very close to other tables, you can hear a lot of what is said. Very extensive menu. Good sized portions. Very pleasant team members. Clean toilets. Unfortunately the lamb burger was over cooked and crumbly. Overpriced for the quality but the setting is lovely. I wanted it to be something really special so I think it just didn’t meet my expectations considering the price and other reviews.

My aunt and I discovered this place and liked it so much we came back the next night. The appetizers are especially good. She loved the fudge sundae!
