During the time gyms were closed, they sent my file to collections twice in one month (month of January, 2022), all because my card on file recently expired and they did not bother to contact me. I was with this gym for 2 years and never missed a payment. I couldn’t even get a hold of them to update my credit card info, as they were closed. I was going to clear everything up when the gyms reopened, but was shocked when collections called me. They even charged me an annual fee when gyms were closed. After the gyms re-opened, I went in person to cancel and had to pay 2 months in advance, on top of the annual fee. Such B.S. I will not be recommending this to any of my friends and family. They had better management back when they were WORLD GYM. They are very “sneaky”. They will send your file to collections without even making an attempt to contact you, so beware before signing up. I’m still getting calls from collections, after I canceled my membership and PAID all the outstanding fees. I even received a receipt of cancellation. Anyhow, save yourselves the trouble by signing up with this gym. There are PLENTY of better gyms around. Reply to the Owner: Please stop with trying to “make things right” for the purpose of looking good on google reviews. You should have made things right by taking the time to place a simple phone call, or email and letting me know that you would be charging me TWICE in 1 month during the time ALL gyms were CLOSED. You guys did not even bother contacting me and found it easier to just file with collections. Then when I try to call to update my credit card, of course you guys were “closed” due to Covid. Does that seem fair? Is that how you treat your members? Security fee charged TWICE in one month? Seems highly unusual. You really think you would find “Ev Phantom” in your system? Really? I’m curious to know who’s idea it was to say don’t bother or make an attempt contacting members, just file with collections b/c it’s probably a lot easier right?

Great affordable gym in Mississauga. I’ve been coming here for few years. Although things have changed around but still get you covered for your basic workout needs. Lots of machines, free weights around so you don’t need to worry about waiting your turn. Yes It does get pretty busy but I think once you go a few times you’ll figure out what works for you best. Peak hours don’t really effect things much especially that the gym is big. With the addition of new racks I never had a problem finding a squat rack and even if they’re full they usually open up pretty quickly as you warm up. Now let’s discuss charges, there are fees, yearly maintenance and what not, which you may need to keep an eye on if you end up not following up on things or if ur credit card wasn’t charged for some reason like expiration and all that. My advice, don’t neglect just because it is a cheap gym membership. But even if you do it’s not that big of a deal comparing with other gyms. Lockers and showers are okay, I used to shower here back in the day but not sure how things are after Covid. Overall great affordable gym. Have I been a member even when I moved around and joined other gyms. Yes! You can’t get a better deal than this and you’re always welcome back!

My credit card was compromised and the number changed, which impacted powerhouse’s ability to withdraw from my account. I haven’t been going to the gym for a few months now due to personal reasons, and all of a sudden I get a collection notification about payments to powerhouse. Powerhouse claims they called me ahead of using a collector however I never received a call. I have no issues paying the amount (which I did right away). This is poor business practice and shows a lack of care for their customer base. Too bad…

This gym dont cancel the member ship over the phone, Very rude staff in the front especially the girl with the blonde hair, Not worth it, the gym stinks, Plus they charge u a full month payment when you wanna cancel, Completely trash customer service

I like the gym overall, but I don’t understand as to why the water fountain is still broken. It has been years and there is always a line to get water. It takes 2 minutes to fill up 500ml of water. The gym is not that clean, and the dumbbells are not sturdy. They have pretty good niche machines but it’s got small things that make the gym not worth it.

As long as I live in this area, this will always be my home gym! Affordable, tons of equipment! And during the times I go, not busy at all. Great staff too.

This gym used to be great, but has definitely lowered its standard in my point of view. Recently went there to change my banking info because I switched banks but have just now received a letter from collections for 22$. I came in specifically to change my bank details so this wouldn't happen but low and behold, they could not even bother contacting me regarding this matter. Instead they decide to place me in collections for their error. Will be cancelling my membership because of this. For the record, I've been with this gym since Fitness Fanatix days so it really sucks to want to leave. Gym times used to be amazing here but they no longer have great closing times. Staff constantly rushes you well before closing time. Other than that, the vibe is ok, machines and weights are plenty, but definitely not how it used to be.

@%@ this gym. Charged me during covid lockdowns, then sent me to collections after my credit card expired. They could have just contacted me about it. I went in person to cancel and pay off my "debt." They then said they would contact the collections agency and I wouldn't have to do anything. Too bad the collections agency has been calling me daily, I even told them that I paid already and to ask the gym. Then I get a call saying the gym says there's no proof of payment. Honestly, %@% this gym. There's so many better gyms out there.

Good gym but after I left from a productive workout, I saw a box of Mr. Puffs dessert left at the trash bin outside the entrance. This enticed me and made me want to go to Mr. Puffs for dessert and I am writing this just before I eat. Completely wasted my workout, all because of what was left outside the gym entrance. I don't want to but I may need to leave the gym with a blindfold on if the trash isn't tidied.

This is actually the sickest gym I've ever been to. They have every machine you could possibly want and you can't beat the price. Even during busy times, I'm able to use the equipment I want without waiting too long. They have multiple rooms, classes, and massage beds that are a very nice touch. The owner and honestly most members are really friendly, it may be a gym bro dominated gym but they are kind. Overall, 10/10 highly recommend. P.s. the people putting 1 star reviews for not following the clearly set out rules to cancel a membership (aka, do it in person and give 30 days notice) are just buckets. Have a good workout :)

Amazing spacious gym with all the equipment and accessories one needs. Very clean and well maintained equipment etc. Very chill employees. The couple that cleans every morning makes you feel like you're part of the fit fam. Love the motivation and pump this gym brings to my fitness goals. Definitely SHOULD charge more for memberships!

Absoulte worst gym you can go to. They will steal from you!!! I had signed a 1 year contract with them and agreed with the employee who signed me up that it would automatically cancel after one year since I wont be in the country by then. They kept charging me for an extra year and I called them trying to cancel on the phone since I couldnt physically be there but they wouldnt cooperate. when I came back and went to cancel they still made me pay extra for the cancelation. My advice is go to a gym that respects it ls customers and doesnt try to steal from them.

Recently joined and enjoying my experience so far. Lots of equipment, multiple rooms and privacy if you want it. Like the fact that it’s not highly commercialized like some other gyms and not in a crowded location like the malls. Liked the simple and fast sign up experience without being bombarded with sales agents, sales tactics, pressure to sign up for personal training and nutrition packages etc. Offered a casual tour immediately versus having to set up an appt and sit with a sales person like other places just to sign up. Very reasonable membership price, very comfortable and non intimidating environment. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Would like to see more options with classes like Zumba. So far so good!

Absolutely disgusting & ridiculous customer service at this gym. Worst experience I’ve ever had trying to can el my membership. I’ve been trying to cancel my membership since 2020 and it’s now March 2023. I have been in to the gym multiple times and been on multiple calls with these staff members to cancel my membership and it is STILL NOT DONE. I have changed my banking details and am now receiving calls saying that I am going to be taken to collections for this matter. On two separate occasions the staff member refused to help me and claimed to “have better things to do” other than help me resolve this matter over the phone. It doesn’t matter how many times I’ve explained that I am not able to get back into the the gym, they refuse to assist me in cancelling this and INSIST I come in to resolve the matter. I’m highly disappointed, this gym used to be epic!

I haven’t visited this gym in over 2/3 years. I was told I was signing a 1 year contract pre- covid and still kept getting charged up until 3 months ago when i placed a stop payment. Someone reached out claiming I owed a bill and was going to get sent to collections over except I came in person to cancel the membership even though I moved. I have paid over $250/300 in membership fees for a gym i barely used and they’re still trying to collect more money or send me to collections. Really poor business model if you ask me and firm prior reviews seems it’s to take advantage of people ! Completely unfair. I also tried to reach out to head office or a senior manager , the manager who picked up the phone refused to put me in contact with them or give me his name. Very unprofessional would not recommend

I have trained in many gyms but this gym by far is the best in Mississauga!! The staff are all really friendly and ready to help anytime. There is a ton of equipment. The gym is always super clean! This gym by far has the best atmosphere. I would recommend Powerhouse . Try them out . Prices are right as well

The most ridiculous cancellation policy. I have moved and they will not let me cancel even though I’ve given written consent with multiple emails. The gym contract clearly states written consent is required. I don’t live in the area anymore and have been getting charged for long past the year contract. They do not treat cancellations with “urgency” as they claim in their review responses. I have been trying to get a hold of them since December. This gym use to be great but this is beyond unprofessional and shady business. They also sent a collections notice months ago because I had to change banking information but never once received a call or email as a heads up. Please do better.

Honestly the only bad reviews come from absolutely unbelievable members. I come to the gym everyday and I over hear the same story, EVERYDAY. The customer issues a stop payment by their bank and then wonders why it’s questioned. If a member signs a contract, they should abide by it. The bad reviews come from the ones that don’t. Simple. GOD BLESS THE STAFF, as they are beyond professional dealing with these type of people. The gym is kept extremely well and there is a wide variety of equipment. I notice lots of great machines that I don’t see at other gyms. The washrooms are consistently clean, the gym has a sauna, hydro massage bed and great classes to join as well. Finally, the price is unmatched. I’m happy I found this gym because it is everything I was hoping for. I will not be going anywhere else, Truly the best gym in Mississauga.

Been going for a couple of months, friendly staff and respectful members , no judgements.. It feels comfortable .. I get support whenever I ask .. they have Yoga and other classes , the bathroom is clean .. many lockers available.. Sauna in the bathroom, I mean what more! the low rating reviews are not fair to this gym. But it's part of owning a buisness I guess.

If I could give these guys negative stars I would. I have moved from Ontario in January 2022. I called, emailed and even sent someone I knew to cancel my membership. NOTHING! Nobody looks at there website messages or attends calls. I got hold of them a few times you guys said it’s cancelled after you pay what’s in collections. I paid it and now I got a letter from collections again saying I owed $500??? Are you kidding me. Stop ripping people off. Cancel my membership NOW!

As an entrepreneur I have the opportunity to test out new gyms across Canada and the U.S. through my travel. Although this location was recommended to me by a good friend, I found my first visit very appalling. During my workout I watched a man throw every dumbbell on the rack (above 50) to the floor after incline pressing; his friends soon after did the same. The level of respect for the gym, other gym members and the gym's owner was clearly zero. Leaving this mess for the staff and other members to clean up was disrespectful. As a powerlifter, I can appreciate heavy lifting and tolerate noise, but understand that weights need cushion support to not be damaged. This man later began to verbally insult and belittle other members, specifically woman. In one instance, the man grabbed a woman and removed her from the machine she was setting up to work out on. She was one third his size, and she stood no chance. I would encourage the owner to not tolerate disrespectful behaviour nor harassment for their clients. If they do tolerate it, it is a red flag. This is not a gym I would recommend to anyone looking for a respectful, motivating gym environment. I will not be returning.

Been going to this gym for 3 years now, priced amazing and very reasonably, large facility with all the equipment you need. Friendly staff and fellow gym goers, a really positive environment. The gym has a rough and rugged look, and also contributes to the motivation to go hard.

Great Gym with a great price! Plenty of options and space to get your workout done. It also provides great group fitness classes. I enjoy this gym much more than other chain gyms. 10/10 would recommend!

I’ve been going to Powerhouse gym for almost 20 years and that alone should tell u what a great gym it is. Equipment is clean and up to date. The staff is wonderful and helpful. The owner, Mike, always has a smile and makes sure the gym is a positive place to workout in. I highly recommend Powerhouse Gym to anyone looking for an affordable, awesome place to workout in. Wow alot to say. Where should I start. The gym itself is nice and clean however, During covid once I cancelled my membership, they still charged my card every month which became a problem and once gyms reopened I went back to talk to someone about my issues about the cancelation and it was confirmed to be cancelled and I had no problems after. (Keep in mind this was 2-3 years ago now) Yesterday, I get a call claiming I have an outstanding balance on my account which I was obviously very confused about. I called and I have never experienced such a rude customer service in my life. The girl on the phone was so rude and unreasonable. As I was saying the situation and my confusion I was cut off and told that I was wrong, told I need to pay now. This made me feel like it was a scam to be completely honest. So I then continued saying I no longer even live in the area and to look into the issue on their end. And then got hung up on. I’m not sure what this woman’s name was or position, but this gym should reconsider the placement of this person. The cleanliness and atmosphere of the gym is not enough for me to recommend this gym to anyone. This woman, the feeling that I was being scammed as well as being stingy with the cancellation of my membership initially completely turned me off.

Great gym for a great price. Staff is professional and very helpful. Has a good variety of machines that are in good condition and even has a small turf section for agility.

Great gym. But not fit for all. If your someone who wants to just do cardio and lift light weights in peace go to a planet fitness. This is an amazing meathead classic gym. Great machines with old school plates. And a great vibe. My only con is that it has one water fountain so bring your own water 😂

Best equipment at affordable prices. The facility is super clean and has additional services such as hydro massage, sauna, Physiotherapy and tanning beds. My friends and I truly enjoy this gym, highly recommend!

Been at this gym for about a month now. Love everything about it so far. The staff in the front have been friendly same with the other members I’ve spoken to. Lots of machines, dumbbells, racks etc…Great overall atmosphere and the pricing can’t be beat.

I have been regularly attending this gym since December 2021. The gym staff are incredibly welcoming, and the gym has all the equipment you would need to use. I especially like the upgraded elliptical machines. I highly recommend for anyone looking to stay fit year-round.

This has been my gym for years and I unfortunately will have to cancel my membership soon. I called and was told exactly how to do it and the rules very politely. I will miss you my home gym and nice staff! Until next time. I strongly recommend this gym if you are in the area. During COVID all protocols were also followed. Amazing staff! Nice friendly people you will get to know as friends. Just absolutely the best experience ever. They have multiple rooms, classes and unlimited high quality water. The place is also clean. Best gym I’ve been to in Mississauga! Would be nice if there was a back extension and rotary torso machine; and if the seatbelt was fixed on the abdominal machine because it’s missing a buckle, other than that it is worth the money!!!!!

Longtime member of this gym. A lot to be said. Pros: Great range of equipment. Tons of machines except newer ones (e.g. pendulum squat). Two different dumbbell racks and 3 sets of cables. Positive morning crowd, respectful members with great gym etiquette. Unique rough around the edges atmosphere. Incredible price, memberships are as cheap at $10 from when I joined. Cons: Limited hours. Once 24 hours, now at 6 which makes it tough to get a morning workout in if you work. Very unclean. You'll see the same hairs encrusted on machines week after week, gum stains on the ground that are 5 years old. The change room stinks and lockers are rusted on the inside. It also gets really hot and musty during peak hours making it tough to breathe, the ventilation is poor. The dumbbells/barbells are screwed on plates which become loose and wiggle while you do reps. Some machines are so old the grooves on the adjustable seats are nonexistent and it falls if you try to adjust it. The owner upgraded the benches in one room at one point a member literally pointed out how the bench was wobbling. Ridiculously overcrowded. It seems this gym has gets busier each year. Rush hours are impossible to workout, mainly due to the guest pass which results in the gym being over capacity. Even afternoons can be crowded on a random weekday. Also the male to female ratio is like 10-1, which could create an intimidating environment for women who want a comfortable place to workout. I have also heard them sending some members to collections for a missed payment which is ridiculous. The older staff is pretty kind and approachable, but some of the younger ones won't even greet you when entering. Overall, this gym is the definition of you get what you pay for.
