While the price was low and the staff seemed nice, the animals looked miserable. They seemed to prioritize human entertainment over the wellbeing of the animals.

This is a really good zoo for kids. It's big but still walkable with young age children. There are lots of different animals, I.e. elephant, giraffe, tiger, etc. Not much people during weekday which makes your visit very relaxing.

If you visit at Miyazaki and stay at Sheraton hotel this zoo is worth to visit. From Sheraton hotel it takes less 10 min by car. This zoo combined a fair and zoo. Zoo area is surrounded nature. Each ride cost is reasonable price. Most expensive ride cost is ¥300.

Spacious and not at all crowded. The animal enclosures are mostly good though some like the lions, tigers and orangutan are rooted in the past

Whoever thought of putting an amusement park inside a zoo? - Great idea! But they like to charge. Parking 400 yen, rides per person around 300 yen each. We did notice lots of people had wrist bands getting on all the rides for free but we weren't offered the opportunity to purchase them. There is also a basic restaurant and gift shop on site. The restaurant meals were about 900 yen for adults and about 550 yen for kids meals. They are renovating the zoo at the moment and the new enclosures are much better than the old. Well worth it though. We even saw a black swan feeding the fish all by itself!

Zoo inside the Phoenix zone of Miyazaki, near the coast. Reachable with a free shuttle. I went there on Tuesday evening, so few people were visiting the park, I counted 4 people other than me. Anyway, after paying I received a map and I started to walk to see animals. Honestly, they are a bit sad and I thought they were like that because of the state of enclosures, small and with very few details remembering animal's habitat. It was a pity. There are several species, but after one hour I finished my visit and went away. There are services inside, like a restaurant and a pool.

Zoo has cute landscaping, but animals feel cramped. Staff is friendly, and the flamingo show isn't much to shake a stick at for adults, but children will find it cool.
