I am currently staying here with my parents and daughter. We booked this resort with the impression of having a good time in Miyazaki, especially my parents. However, we were sorely disappointed upon check in today that I had to write this review now. What we encountered: - We had to PAY for onsen clothes or Yutaka. Have never encountered a hotel in Japan where we had to pay for onsen clothes. - Onsen is incredibly far from the main building. We had to walk a long distance to the onsen. - Shower water is hotter then the onsen water. What is this? - There is no warning sign that the lake next to the outdoor onsen cannot be entered. One China lady wanted to dip herself into the lake. She also said that there should be a warning sign. - We got the local bus 18 from Miyazaki station to the hotel. Google told us that and also the tourist information centre confirmed this. When we wanted to take a local bus out from the hotel to Miyazaki, the staff looked extremely shocked that we managed to take a local bus to the hotel. They told us the bus operates on weekends only and today is a weekday. I said that we arrived on the local bus and they looked shocked again. How can they not know the latest information? They looked so embarrassed with the misinformation they provided us. - We called to enquire about items on the phone and we could hear them talking in the background. And they had to ask at the end of the conversation, where are we from? Weird. - The convenience store sells very limited items at marked up prices. - Stained and dirty sofa in our family suite! We paid good money for this? - The carpet is filthy! Can see stains and dirt when we check in. - There are oily food stains on the wall. You can refer to my picture for reference. Will update my review as we continue our stay here. It’s a great disappointment and only good for golfers. Otherwise, do not stay here. —— Update 4 Oct 2023 - One of the usb ports at the bedside table is not working. - one of the lights is spoilt - 99% of the staff cannot speak English, especially the front desk! How can this be??

Nice spacious room with a beautiful view. Unfortunately there were stains on the couch but that is the only complaint i have for the rooms. The restaurants were not bad they all had great service but the food wasn’t worth the price. Very nice pools as well but the area surrounding it was a bit dirty. The gazebo we rented was very comfortable and clean though. A very good hotel overall but slightly overpriced. Would also add a proper convenience store with a wider variety of snacks.

It is a high-rise resort hotel with a height of 154 meters, is loved by the world VIPs. It has a variety of room types such as Japanese and Western styles. The minimum size of a standard room is over 50㎡. From the whole 743 rooms, panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and a long established golf courses can be seen. In addition, you can enjoy the illumination of the golf course at night. Sheraton’s original bed that promises you to give an ultimate level of sleep. Experience the finest resort time such as international restaurants, hot springs and spas. A large renovation work was completed in August 2016. Ideas for you to enjoy the scenery of the resort are in many places.

Upgraded to the largest suite room I've ever got and was rewarded with fantastic views over entire Miyazaki. Service was impeccable. Food and onsen was also excellent.

The customer service was excellent, the location was superb, and the safety was top-notch - I was extremely satisfied with my stay. However, the door to the toilet in my room made a very loud noise and the cupboard where the fridge was located was also coming apart. While the cleanliness of the room was exceptional, I feel that it would be better to ensure that all equipment is in good working order to avoid any inconvenience for guests. Despite these minor issues, this hotel is one of the top-rated Sheraton hotels with a Grand title, and is truly a first-class establishment. I highly recommend experiencing the superb location, attentive staff, and delicious food during your stay.

This is a really nice place with spacious, well laid out rooms and good facilities, including well suited for families. On the downside is the breakfast buffet being very crowded with some waiting time to get in and the crowded pool. This time I stayed on a cheap long stay (6 nights) so couldn't get an upgrade as a member but did get breakfast included and lounge access. Unfortunately the lounge service is somewhat reduced compared to before. The happy hour plate was all meat or fish so I passed it up.

Amazing hotel but still things to improve on, I was really upset when I came there during the golden week, the pool was closed! It was really warm and humid outside and why not open the pool, it’s really deceiving that many hotels in Japan open their pools only in summer, it’s pretty annoying. You also had to pay for using the gym there, not very cheap.Overall the food was really good, delicious breakfast and restaurant view.Good hotel location too.Good view and nice onsen in the forest, awesome stay.

Wonderful hotel with great facilities, very friendly staff. We stayed there for a week for our family summer vacation. There is a beach near the Sheraton, perfect for young kids, very safe, and great burger place next to it. We also enjoyed at the restaurant Pine Terrace the great buffet selection for breakfast and dinner. Again, perfect for a family vacation, and we will definitely go there again. Miyazaki city and prefecture have great local food for reasonable prices, and this area is full of old Japan history.

My girlfriend and I stayed at this hotel to celebrate her birthday. Since she was an spg member, we were able to grab a very nice room with a beautiful ocean view for one night using the points she had collected. The room was really spacious and it had all the amenities you could possibly need. The decor of the room would be what you come to expect at any major franchise of hotels, nothing out of the ordinary but it was lacking some colour that could've really tied it in with the amazing view. Speaking of which, the view was what really made the room special and it was amazing to wake up to the following morning. Buses come every 20-30 minutes that take you all over the resort which is really great if you are planning to play golf, tennis or head to beach. This was especially convenient for us considering we didn't have a car. If you want to get into town (and don't have a car) though, you will most likely be waiting around an hour. We had a delicious Nabe dinner, the staff were very accommodating and tentative considering we entered the restaurant an hour before they closed. We also were able to grab a gazebo by the pool in the evening which was really romantic and a nice place to relax. The point this hotel kind of falls short on is the room service. When ordering breakfast over the phone, we originally went off the a la carte menu provided but the staff suggested we go for some breakfast courses instead as they'd be better value. Of course we agreed, my girlfriend ordered poached eggs with her breakfast and we requested there be no oranges or citrus fruit in our fruit selection which was part of the course. The staff confirmed everything over the phone and we were all set. When the breakfast arrived, however, the portion sizes were small, they had put orange and citrus fruit in our fruit selection and the eggs my girlfriend received were not poached but hard boiled. We called room service to complain and the person on the phone told us they didn't hear our requests? It was pretty shocking considering everything was confirmed over the phone once we had placed our order. It was a shame because it was the morning that we were leaving and sent us off with a bad taste in our mouths.

What a place to stay and play! Will be coming back here soon. Has everything you need on site and you really never have to leave. Big rooms and great food. Plenty of space for everyone to enjoy what they want. Have a drink at the pool and play a round of golf at either of the two courses. Don’t forget to use their phenomenal Onsen and spa facilities.

Massive hotel built in the bubble Era but has been thoroughly renovated on the inside by Marriott. A great resort for families as once you get there you don't have to leave. Pool, restaurants, onsen and everything you need. Very close to Miyazaki city so not a hassle to go into town. Came on a busy long weekend so could not get reservations for dinner, recommend booking ahead of time.

Rooms were nice, but for some reason there was no rooftop bar, which is a shame for this location.

Nice hotel and convention center . Rooms with ocean view and golf course view. Breakfast is ok but nothing special and was very crowded so expect to wait. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Nice hotel with very friendly and accomodating staff. I wish the onsens (there’s 2 on site) were a bit hotter and the cold baths a little colder but the sauna was very hot which was nice. Gym was quite average. Breakfast buffet was deicious. The hotel was massive and the rooms very spacious. Pool was big but closed quite early. Had one of the best steaks of my life at the Fukami restaurant. The chef at the executive lounge was also terrific and made delicious appetizers for us every evening. Note: No swimming at the nearby beach but there is a free shuttle service to get there

Dated but very well maintained resort. Be sure to book club floor rooms as these rooms have been renovated. Club lounge service and quality excellent. Nice gourmet Hors d’Oeuvres

havent stayed here for 24hrs yet and i feel there are many things to be improved at this hotel. firstly, the distance of the hotel is pretty far from the miyazaki station and being a ocean resort, there should be a shuttle bus service provided to guests between the station and the hotel. it is important to note that the local bus services are VERY infrequent. so we have to take a taxi everywhere we go because the location is far from the city centre and inconvenient to get to places. secondly, the staff is not up to date with the bus timings! we arrived at the hotel via bus 18 if im not wrong and the staff was shocked and informed that the buses came her on weekdays as the information they had was the buses only operates on the weekends. thirdly, the hot springs are far from the hotel. noting that this is supposedly a resort, i would expect FAR BETTER ammenities. there are lockers provided for your slippers but for your belongings its in a basket!! why is that so? i find it so ironic that our slippers are locked up and our valuables are not?!? the hot spring water is lukewarm and the shingetsu hot spring is really dark at night. shingetsu hotspring overlooking the pond outside is really really dark at night. there was this woman who thought the pond was a part of the hot spring and she wanted to go into the pond as there was no warning signs or bright lights or anything to indicate that its a pond! do not enter! she was also dipping her hand into the pond on the other side to indicate how close n misleading it is!! also, as a resort i would expect a better water cooler but its the mouth piece water cooler type and its rusty at the side and its really unhygienic. just yesterday i stayed at Sheraton Kagoshima for 5 days and the amenities, services and staff service are WAY BETTER than this “grande ocean RESORT”. another point is that there is no onsen clothing to wear to the hotsprings! u have to purchase a yukata to wear there?? the staff are not very fluent in english or any staff who is comfortable speaking in english. they had to translate from japanese to english when we enquired about something over the phone we could here the man speaking to the translator in japanese and she had to translate back in english however she still had difficulty understanding what we were asking. lastly, the rooms are FILTHY. i have attached some photos to this review which u can refer to. the carpets, walls and sofas are filthy and stained. i dont even dare to walk bare footed on this filthy carpets. the walls are stained with chilli oil?? so now, im having second thoughts on how clean this hotel is. our family suite room only had 2 usb ports and one of them was spoiled too. i dont understand how you can check in guests to such a filthy room with spoiled ammenities. very disappointed with this hotel would not recommend anyone to stay here unless u golf…..
