For the price and what You get, even the upgrade is worth it. And for daily/weekly visitors, I recommend it. There is a small shop by front desk for snacks and things with a seating/rest area. Handicap accessibility. Water stations. A wide variety of equipment that the staff help keep clean, too. I really like that the women's bathroom/showers are mostly kept clean, sorry if the same cannot be said for the men's. (There isn't changing stalls in men's but there is in women's). Plenty of lockers. Ample parking in front and back. Depending on time of day, there is security patrolling the premises. Also, shared parking lot with many businesses and a local bar- beware if parked too far, too late at night! (there has been drunk people doing donuts and hit/run vehicles). Be considerate of others and Your surroundings. Make sure to stay hydrated! Have fun!

All workers need to have a meeting and be told the same thing. I asked 3 different workers if they have more barbell pads since they only have one on the floor and I was told that they are ordering more and that I should bring my own (this was a month ago). Fast forward to this month when I finally bought my own pad but 2 different workers told me I can’t use it so I told them what the other workers said and I received a smirk and just a “Yeah we’re ordering some more”. I don’t understand how bringing my own equipment that the GYM LACKS affect other people’s workout when that should at least help with people’s waiting time. I’ve been going here for a year now and not once have I experienced an issue about wearing open-toes shoes (slides) until recently when they sent me back home for this reason. I’ve seen people workout using their slides as well since it’s more comfortable especially during leg day. The left smith machine near the mirror has been broken for MONTHS. Not a sign was put up so people still use it which is extremely dangerous!

I used to be a member of In-Shape, and after visiting planet fitness, I gave up my membership there. This location offered everything that I had at my previous gym, but was about $40 a month cheaper! It also offers the Black Card members, free tanning, massage chairs as well as some other therapies. Free training is also included here! with my black card membership, I can go to any other planet fitness location no matter where in the country. This is super nice since I travel quite a bit! The location is incredibly clean and the staff is constantly wiping down the machines and cleaning the floor. Speaking of staff, they are incredibly friendly and welcoming, regardless if it is your first time in the gym or if you are an old pro at working out. I highly recommend this facility!

I’ve been coming here for years, and never had issues with equipment or staff. Everything was always clean and working. Unfortunately as of late a lot of workout equipment has been out of order. Not just a few machines. There’s literally over a dozen machines that have been “out of order” since at least January 2023. It is April 25th 2023 now and the machines are still out of order. It makes coming here and trying to workout within a timely manner, very very frustrating. I informed the staff if there were any updates on the machines coming back up, but received a simple “there’s no ETA” from them… not sure if there’s a shortage on steel and cables or what but it’s ridiculous for something to be broken for so long. Unfortunately I’m forced to start working out out at a different PF location now. Here’s to hoping that the next location has its things in order.

I wasn’t going to write anything. But now I feel compelled because I hadn’t got to workout today. As you can see in the comments, this specific location has a ton of issues with broken or missing equipment, which causes you to either walk out because you only get half of a workout done or because you are ultimately disappointed. I’ve been coming to this location for almost a year to list weights and use various machines and always run into issues. Today was different, as I got tired of the neck pain I was experiencing by having NO bar cushion, I purchased my own and brought it in 4 times until today and they tell me outside equipment is not allowed and they can’t help if people steal equipment .. they also said that they have people walk around to monitor how the equipment is being used and NO ONE told me to take my cushion down and I stayed at the gym for three hours. They also are no specific about the type of equipment that is not allowed. Especially if it’s not being supplied. If they had them, I wouldn’t have gone out and bought my own. Also the bar cushion they had before was broken for the longest time and was never replaced, I used it before and it slipped off the bar and hit my neck .. I’ll be canceling as soon as I can

I wish I could give zero star for this racist place. The front desk girl name Julie give herself a right to come to my husband face and discriminate him just because she doesn’t like the color of his skin.. she freely embarrassed him in from of other people and accusing him for wearing a no sleeve shirt because someone complained!! When he asked her if she is sure that the person complained truly and honestly then she had no respond even though there were plenty of people denying her statement. She totally ignored the rest of the gym wearing something similar to what my husband had on, but she just picked up on him because he has different skin color or he has facial hair which give her the signal to pull her racist card out! This is extremely unexpected and I hope that the Planet Fitness is doing something about this behavior as it not acceptable any part in the US or any part of the world. I am 100% following up my complaint to the management and the corporate and I will see her and her manger or whoever is in charge in the court. It is very good thing to have a personal lawyer these days! Side note: if you have a darker color skin or in a very good shape please do not go to this gym as they will bully you till you leave!

Amazing gym at an affordable price, they’re also in the process of remodeling. Tons of new equipment and of course the same willingly members. Love it here, even more now lol. Can’t go wrong by simply adding this to your gym collection if your “one of those”.

This is a good club for a great price. Renovation is underway, so it should even get better. I am not a small woman, but I have experience at several gyms. This gym is functional, and I felt very comfortable.

Manager Jasmine is the best. The staff is amazing. I've been coming to this gym for several years and some of the staff members over the years have become lifelong friends. For those whining about the equipment, toughen up! It's a gym, not a wellness retreat. I highly recommend coming to the Orangeburg Planet Fitness!

Too much broken equipment, place is always under construction, and the manager I spoke with is nice but has no answers besides “we’re doing our best.” No dates on when things will get done. I’d go to the other location but that one’s always busy because of the lack of equipment they have here. Can you not fix equipment and do construction at the same time?

Went back to this gym after a year and it has definitely gone down. A lot of the equipment was broken or out of service which was super inconvenient due to the fact that lately this gym has been way more crowded than it used to be. It definitely needs an upgrade or expansion. Possibly another location near by because I’ve never seen this many people here. Not complaining because everyone deserves to be there but if they at least had the equipment up to date or added more equipment it would be a decent place to get a workout at.

Better of the two planet fitness locations in Modesto hands down they offer more machines and more stalls for weights so you can easily get your workout in. Plus they have a lot more variety in machines as well. I rarely see any of the machines out of order. A lot less crowded than the other location as well most likely due to its location.

Terrible gym. Their equipment is old and always broken, and even though they don’t have enough barbell pads they tell customers they can’t bring their own. Such a ridiculous policy considering this is used for safety and comfort. I believe they only have two of them and they’re always old and gross. On top of that, they literally put water in the soap bottles.

People get robbed here (from experience). My car got broken into (not their responsibility) but it’s still a fact. This isn’t a good area (tweakers in and around gym also taking showers which isn’t a big deal until they BREAK INTO STUFF) you may as well leave your wallets at home and hope you don’t get pulled over because they aren’t safe in the locker rooms or your car & good luck not losing it in the gym (again not their responsibility) but still a warning. IMO it’s not hard for a worker to check and make sure lockers aren’t getting broken into Buuut that’s just my opinion. Lockers get broken into, cars get broken into, way too many people it’s overcrowded and people stay on the machines for too long. Just GET TOILET SEAT COVERS you’re already using a F ton of paper towels which isn’t “better for the environment” it’s so unsanitary 😬 Already downgraded my membership might cancel tbh. (And 99$ to cancel is just absurd). The reply I got from them is not helpful either considering I already know the answers and solutions to the review it’s my experience and opinion so “addressing” it wouldn’t make a difference.
