I was born and raised in Montreal. I love to say this line to people…” we have a actual mountain in the middle of our city!” So many different access to get there, memories of bbq at the park with my family. Winter time, going skating in the frozen lake or tobogganing down the hill and getting warmed up at the chalet. Pure beauty. Montreal has a lot of amazing parks, but by far this one is the ultimate.

Beautiful place to enjoy with family, friends, couple, it is incredible the view it has and how relaxing it can be, a place without words to express the feeling it conveys. Recommended to do what you like.

The walking track and the place are just amazing! I can only recommend this beautiful park to all those living our visiting the island of Montréal and mint royal area. Last but definitely not least, the change situated in the top of the hill there. Enjoy your trip and don't miss this great spot 😉💐

A nice hike up. Quite challenging when the stairs are all covered in snow/frozen. Nevertheless, still a great place to walk around in. Saw a lot of people who were cross-country skiing, as well as people walking their dogs. The view would be nice in the evening, but I didn‘t wait for it😅

Beautiful views of the Montreal Downtown and Southshore. Arrange your time to catch the view during the day and sunset. You will love it. Clean and well-maintained park with access to restrooms 🚻

Wonderful place to visit. There are lots of steps to climb if you want to end at the top. Excellent views once you're at the top. Bathrooms are available there as well.

If you enjoy watching the sunrise from a higher altitude this is the best place to go. One can visualize the whole of Montreal city from just one place. The lights during the nights and the sunrise during early morning makes this place a heaven and is the best time to visit this place.

Nice place to enjoy quality time and fun. It’s super close to the city centre, so just hop on a bus up to the top of the mountain and enjoy some winter fun. You can enjoy Ice skating on Beaver Lake (Mount Royal) and One of my favourite things to do is SNOW TUBING! You won’t be able to stop yourself from screaming, smiling… and making your way to the top to do it ALL OVER AGAIN! What a buzz!

Great walking trails throughout the park, lots of fog at the viewpoint for us, but still a fun walk with the dog!

Come here on a sunny summer day for a joyful peaceful day. You can take Bixi e-bikes, a little pricy but worthy. Restrooms are a bit busy and there not many

If you are in Montréal I would highly recommend going here. It is absolutely wonderful, and if you can I would absolutely advise taking a couple of hours to climb as high as you can as the views are absolutely fantastic, you can see the entirely of the Montréal skyline. It is great to have such a slice of tranquility right in the middle of the city and with COVID it is the perfect attraction with the wide open spaces and air.

I’ve spent an amazing time all over the park, many families, friends and couples are walking with their pets. What stunning view from the top! And the lake is superb 😍❤️

Beautiful views. Stair-master workout to the top, but road access is also available for bikes and people on wheels. Parking is free for the first two hours. After that fees for parking rise to $6.00- $10.00. There is parkland for picnicking, cafe dining and washrooms at the top. Enjoy a panoramic view of the city of Montreal.

What an amazing experience. Easy to access the parking lot. You do need to pay fo parking and can pay for a timed amount or fill day pass. Plenty of parking and was not full. Since we were going with a stroller & toddler we stuck to the regular path that were gravel. There were many other trails that came up but with the stroller we didn't want to risk it. The view from the look out was fantastic even with some smog. It was busy, but not overly busy that we couldn't see. We arrived around 11am on a Sunday morning. There was a cafe open during restaurant that was selling drinks and coffee. Not sure what else as we did not go inside. There were washrooms facilities in a trailer type mobile thing. Was nice to not have to use a port a potty on such a hit day. Definitely bring water with you!! Along the trail there were many signs for poison Ivy which was a great reminder since I forgot what it looked like. We did the 6km trail and would like to go back to see the waterfall.

Mount Royal Park is beautiful, especially in autumn, when fall foliage fashion week begins. Fresh air, easy to moderate hike up the mountain with many paths to choose from, a 360 degree view of Montreal, there's plenty to see and enjoy. Some construction is underway on and around the mountain, therefore parking spaces are reduced, and there are some detours, but still worth the trip.

The best way to enjoy some nature and get the best view of Montreal. It's so quiet and nice, very dog friendly and suitable for people of all ages.

It's a great place to go hiking in Montréal. There are many cool routes to explore and enjoy Nature. The landscape in autumn is different, but depending on the period you go, some paths will already be closed, as they begin to prepare the park for winter. I've been there in winter, and there are actually some paths that are dangerous to take, due to the risk of falls. If you follow the suggested route and wear appropriate clothing, you can enjoy all seasons. In each season it is as if you were in another park. The city is still beautiful seen from the top of Mont Royal. Remember that the temperature and thermal sensation is lower, and that it is usually windy there. And always carry water, there are not many points of sale available along the climb, depending on the route you take, water will be needed.

Great day. Nice view. Plenty of trails or you can sit and enjoy the view. If you are going anytime close to when i posted, make sure you know where the 11 bus route truly is. Citymapper was off. Rue Mount Royal is pedestrian so everything was off.

A beautiful place to visit in the city, especially in the fall. There are many lovely trails and landmarks to see. Amazing view of the city and the St Lawrence River. Must see spot!

We got there on new year’s day, we wanted to ice skating. The rental salon was closed due to holidays but the rank eas open and we enjoyed it a lot.

Beautiful park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted, the same landscape architect who designed Central Park in NYC. It's such a great place to do all sorts of activities winter or summer, from social gatherings, sports, sightseeing as it overlooks Montreal etc. A must see if you are a tourist.

  • 5/5 Isaac 2 years ago on Google
Do not miss this place if you're a tourist staying in Montreal for more than 24 hours. The view is worth the hike up Mount Royal (though it is thankfully only a short 10 minute walk from the parking lot) and the place is generally packed with crowds of tourists and locals alike. Bring your own snacks/drinks/blanket and have a nice picnic in the park, or bring your hiking poles or bikes and spend hours getting lost in the view. Would definitely return the next time I'm in town.

Beautiful place. peaceful great place to visit if it wasn't for the city's stupid meters . That limit the time that you can spend.

Beautiful park. Excellent lookout point to see the City of Montreal.

One of the best parks in Montreal! A mountain, a lake, trees, springs and groundhogs all in one place) Very good trails for hiking, jogging, cycling and skiing in winter. Beautiful in every season! Can be crowded on weekends in good weather, especially the lookout and the ladder to it. Not impressed by the food in the Chalet, though. Oh, and there are cormorants on the lake))

Amazing view from the top of Mount royal, fresh air, and the best place to freshen up your mind. Since last 2 years, I have been visited Mount royal several time, and every time came up with new experiences. In winter you can go for skiing, and this is also amazing experience which I have done last winter. Most recommend place when you want peace of mind in nature getting far from noice of city..

Went there twice during our 4-day visit to Montreal. Very green, peaceful, good trails for all fitness levels. Great views from the top.

  • 5/5 Karina K. 2 years ago on Google
Great views of the city. Nice place to take a walk or chill by the lake. Can see quite a lot of wildlife - especially squirrels. Great to be there during the sunset. The only thing is that it’s not trivial to come back to the city from it, some paths were closed.

  • 5/5 Mrinal R. 2 years ago on Google
The park is very big and mainly a tourist spot. A lot of people come here with their friends and family, have a barbecue and relax. It's very pleasant and peaceful. You need to walk up the hills a little to reach the place where a small lake is and where you can rest and take pictures.

  • 5/5 Ianna M. 1 year ago on Google
Very gorgeous park with a stunning view overlooking the entire city. Would definitely recommend for newcomers looking to take nice photos. They also have a chalet cafe and a hike ground.

  • 5/5 Wendy P. 2 years ago on Google
Lots of space for picnic or just hanging out with family. There's numerous trails, tables and benches. Also, a small playground for the kids. The large pond is beautiful and has very large goldfish and ducks! There's also a cool small waterfall feature Beautiful place!

I found this place on the map during my first visit to Montreal, and I loved it! Such a great little getaway within the city and wonderful views all around! I even spotted a huge barred owl along one of the many trails!

  • 5/5 Jessica C. 6 years ago on Google
This was an amazing Place. The best thing we've seen in Montreal. It was really worth the steep climb. The view was spectacular and if you went further in the park you could see squirrel at feeding stations throughout the forest. They let you come really close.

Nice. Crowded. Good views. Have facilities inside the building.

  • 5/5 regis k. 2 years ago on Google
This is a must visit place when in Montreal. This vantage view give you the whole outlook of the city. On a sunny day, you can see the endless branches of the river stretching all the way to other cities. Be prepare to walk a mile to the top. There are parkings near the top but that's a long walk too. The path going to the viewing area is a pleasant walk with paved walkways and plenty of trees to provide shades. If you want to learn a bit of history of Mont Royal, there is a museum next to the viewing platform. restroom facilities are provided as well in the viewing area. Best time to visit is around September and late Spring.

  • 5/5 Wayne Y. 2 years ago on Google
Super nice place just be ready for a long hike if your headed to the lookout at the top. And be sure to dress warm and have cleats on your boots.

  • 5/5 Aaron M. 2 years ago on Google
Well, I severely underestimated how challenging the hike up would be, especially after a night of drinking! However, once I did reach the top, it was absolutely worth it. The views are breathtaking and it is also nice that there is more that just an outlook point; you have a cafe and a massive park to relax.

  • 5/5 Adam B. 1 year ago on Google
One of the most stunning urban parks around. I have visited this park in the dead of winter, as well as during the splendid summer, and it never ceases to amaze me how huge and fantastic the park is. The stairs can be treacherous in the winter, please wear appropriate footwear! You can walk on nicely developed trails, or opt for more a more remote and wild variety; or you can opt to accelerate your ascent to the top by taking the stairs. The view at the top is iconic, as is the cross on the other side of the mountain top. The chateau at the top is also impressively large. Try your best to see the city on a clear day, you can see as far as the mountains many miles away. This park is so big that even when it’s busy, it is still quite tranquil.

Montreal's Central Park. Beautiful all year round. If you enjoy hiking, you can take the bus and walk down the mountain into the city center. Great panoramic views of downtown Montreal. .

  • 5/5 Kitt Y. 1 year ago on Google
Beautiful park in the middle of the city. From the east side took the bus and hiked up the stairs. Wasn’t that bad of a hike, great views all around.

  • 5/5 mahesh w. 2 years ago on Google
Pretty amazing views from The top; I guess a checklist place if you visit Montreal. If you are a hiker, take the stairs to climb up all the way. It’s a beautiful experience. It is very centrally located to downtown also so I suggest doing this one in the morning time so that you can freely move around the city for the rest of the day.

  • 5/5 Aravind R. 1 year ago on Google
Lovely place for a relaxed day outing. There is a small man made lake here. Visitors can rent row boats for some nice rowing experience.

One of my go to spots when in Montreal! The view is absolutely stunning! Even without my wife in the picture!! Lol Parking is paid by the hour and isn’t too expensive $4 gets you an hour! The walk is not challenging to the viewing area

  • 5/5 CN U. 1 year ago on Google
Parking at the top is vast and paid. We paid about $3.75 for an hour. Going to the view point is a wide walking trail. Montreal downtown view from the top is amazing. There's another Trail that leads to the top where the light cross is installed, but that Trail has no lights and way too dark in the night.

I visited on 3/22/23. What a gorgeous outdoor area full of lots of winter activities. Sledding, tuning, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating. Rental available on site. Children are free with parents. It’s probably lovely in the Summer too!

  • 4/5 M A. 9 months ago on Google
Superb park with a nice pond and scenery... the young lady at the visitor center is particularly friendly and helpful. However, I found people smoking hookah next to kids playground...totally unacceptable !!!!! And the portapotties are ... I don't want to elaborate.
