Had a great ‘locals’ experience here with my family. Food and coffee were excellent, as was the service. We loved the atmosphere, both inviting and cozy. Prices were also very fair. Happy we stopped in and would certainly return.

We visited there on Saturday noon in April, 2023. It was around 15:00, there were a few people. We enjoyed good coffee and juice with fun. We felt historic atmosphere.

We went there using out big box coupon. The gave a good amount of stuff for breakfast. Loved everything about it. Coffee was good. Would not recommend work from the cafe. My friend liked the apple pie . Will be visiting soon again..

I have become a regular. Grilled Salmkn or Bife de Ojo. Can't miss. And the people who run this historic place are awesome.

a bad waiter can totally filter one's experience. despite the charming ambience, the delicious food, i had to go to the manager and ask to fire this arrogant young tart (in photo).

The coffee (cortado) is excellent as is the service. The atmosphere is very old school cool. Basically the interior is unchanged from when it opened in 1877.

Interested Classic café from another era, housed in a building that drives you back in the past. Nice sweets and cakes. There is WiFi. Cards accepted.

This place has great atmosphere, it's classical and cozy. We ordered breakfast that included eggs toast and coffee/tea. The eggs were nice and fluffy but the toast, while it looked delicious (thick with a variety of gains), was mostly burnt. Overall a pleasant experience. We arrived around 11:30 on a Friday and it was not crowded at all.

Another hot breakfast spot you need to try if are in Montevideo area, old town. Friendly staff and good breakfast deals. Very good espresso coffee too. They don’t speak English fluently but is was pretty easy to communicate in Spanish and a bit of Italian.

Great historical place, great service, tasty and beautiful meals in a generous size. Im vegetarian and their blue salad is delicious, would return more times. Price was ok as well.

It’s totally worthwhile to go check out the cafe, if not only for a coffee. You’re dining in history, sitting at the original wood tables in the original wood chairs. To be honest, the food is mediocre, but it’s not terribly priced.

👍 The Frappuccino was good and the employees were nice. But even though the line was very short and there were at least five employees working, it took almost ten minutes before I could order.
