A Vacation to Remember-Our knowledgeable tour guide, Mr. Hanif, shared the rich history of his family and others who lived and worked on Pin Point. It's hard to image that people worked there until the mid 80s! Also while there, I was surprisingly reunited with a family member after 27 years! Tears of Joy!

Such a historic place and community. It helped that the associate (she was young w braids) knew every detail and could answer my questions!!! That makes for a great experience. Please visit if you get the chance. It's definitely worth it!!!! Support by buying books and merch from the store!

A necessary historical visit for anyone visiting the area. It's only 20 mins from downtown Savannah and it will give you a true cultural reality of the area and the people. Very educational.

They were closed when we pulled up but we walked around the property and took some pictures. The place has some amazing energy can't wait to come back this summer.

Cool experience! Thought it was worth the $10/person entry fee. Make sure to check hours as when we went it was just open Thursday through Saturday; also sounds like the last guided tour may end at two so go earlier as the guided tour portion was worth it. There was an interesting video that we enjoyed watching. Then a passionate tour guide took us around the property explaining things along the way; he was patient with our many questions. Then afterwards we took some time to explore on our own. Overall we were there for about an hour and a half perhaps, though you could spend more or less as desired.

It looks small when you first pull in, but there is a lot there. Very nice movie. Great tour with lots of information. The people there love this place and love sharing their love. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I had such a beautiful and educational experience at the heritage museum today. I visited with a classmate to learn more about the Gullah Geechee cultural history, and I couldn’t be more impressed with the museum experience. The documentary they show is very well done, and the buildings are preserved and shown very well. I also want to give a kudos to the site administrator, David, who allowed us to ask many questions for 15-20 minutes following the tour. If you’re considering visiting, I highly recommend!

This was a pretty cool place to visit. We were given a guided tour and then were able to walk around on our own. Learned about the Gullah Geechee.

Wow! History preserved! This museum is on the original location of the history it's preserving, which is a beautiful opportunity to see first hand, the environment. The museum is well organized to share the experience of this resourceful, impressive Gullah/Geechee community. To put "icing on the cake" of this review, the staff was fantastic. They are passionate about the experience of this group of people and are happy to share further insights.

Wow what an interesting museum. When you first go in you think it would be a 5 minute visit but the guided tour was so informative and you learned different aspects of how the people harvested the crabs from the sea to the packaging process.

We arrived around 10am, Monique was our guide - she is a descendent and grew up here. She was so full of information and stories, wish we had more time with her. We were there 2.5 hours and I could have easily spent another 2-3+ hours reading everything and soaking in this rich history. Thank you so much for sharing your life and history with us. I bought a book in their gift store and can’t wait to learn more. Gail was in the gift store working and got to hear about her story, such a joy to chat with her. I’ll be back!

I visited Pin Point as a chaperone on a 5th grade field trip and had the best time! Our guide, Gail, was full of knowledge and so personable. The short intro video was informative and the sites are well-preserved! It was great way to expose our group of 5th graders to an important culture they otherwise might not ever encounter. I will tell everyone I know about this great attraction!

The museum is outstanding. The exhibits are well done and the guides provide excellent narration. Our guide Hanif Haynes is a native of Pin Point and provided an excellent verbal history of Pin Point. This was the highlight of our vacation.

Unique historical museum, allowing visitors a close look at the Gullah community and their connection with the sea, the marsh, their work and their history. Well done...a must see when visiting Savannah!

Absolutely loved it! Must see Gullah community where descendants of the original Gullah inhabitants still love. Don't miss the insightful documentary & museum, oyster & crabbing boats & factory, and marsh views.

This place is fantastic. Very informative. I wasn't going to go, then changed my mind. I'm really glad I did, it's a piece of important history I'd never heard about prior to my visit. Added bonus, Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas was born here and his father worked at the heritage museum when it was an Oyster canning Co. Complete with photo of him with the crew he worked with. Amazing place. Don't miss a trip out to visit. You'll be glad you went.

This museum is part of the coastal heritage society package, where you can get three adult tickets to applicable museums at a discounted cost. This place is beautiful, oyster shells literally everywhere. I also loved learning about the oyster shucking and canning process and the community that brought this place to life. It’s small but is very different from the other types of history museums available in Savannah, which I think makes it more memorable.

I really enjoyed my tour here. It’s both a cultural tour and a factory tour in a way. You get to learn about the people of this community and their history and traditions as well as how they made a living for many years. The way the tour guide presented you really felt like you could picture what it would have been like to live and work there. It was very engaging. The museum staff can also connect you with other things to check out in the area like restaurants and galleries.

What a great hidden gem! Extremely well done. Lots of interesting history of the lives of the locals and the strong work ethic of a very tight knit community. Small footprint, but quality exhibits, especially enjoyed the 35 minute documentary.

I knew this special place would be a pleasure to explore and was grateful to the nicest woman, Gina, and the site leader, David for their welcome, I hope to return when it is cooler!

We had such a good time exploring this place and learning about the history & culture of the area. The displays are interesting and the audio/video is very well done. Those who run this museum are friendly and knowledgeable and very flexible in making accommodations as needed. We loved it and are so glad we came back!

Geechee history is American history. There are some places in the world where you're just really grateful they exist and this is one of them. Community members have done an incredible job to share their history with enthusiasm, thoughtfulness, and insight, keeping traditions alive through environmental, economic, and social change. Thanks to the workers and volunteers that make this place what it is, and I hope the museum continues to expand in the future to expand on the stories and narratives told. If you visit, be sure to plan for more time than you think you'll need - get the most out of this place while you're here!

This small museum is one of kind in Savannah. Mr.Hanif brought us back to the island life last century and walked us in the community life. Truly wish when we return next time, there is a Pin Point menu brings us back the falvor once upon time which would be another amazing experience.

Pin Point Heritage Museum is now one of our favorite destinations when visiting Savannah. The area is beautiful, serene, and abounds with rich history. From the welcome upon our arrival to the wonderful tour with Sheron, we couldn't have been more pleased. Sheron has a way of making you feel as though you are sharing time with family and walking away the better for it. We are looking forward to the next trip.

Really the history lessons about Pin Point! I also enjoyed the conversation with our guide. She was extremely knowledgeable and shared her first hand experiences! Reminded me of my childhood in McIntosh County which is also located on the Georgia coast!
