The rooms are beautiful, the front desk hospitality leaves a LOT to be desired. I really wanted to love this hotel. I booked it for an anniversary getaway and selected it above other hotels based on the glowing reviews. However, the tone for our stay was soured at check-in. We arrived at 2:45 pm which I understand is before check in time at 3. I did not expect the room to be ready early but was told at check in it could be up to an hour to wait. I was honestly very off put not just because the room was not ready by the advertised time, but because of the lack of service of the staff. There was no offer to apologize (I'm not asking for a grand gesture) but we couldn't even be offered waters. We were simply told to wait. If I was staying at the Best Western I would be understanding. However, I don't find that acceptable at a 4 star hotel at which we spent $1200/2 nights to stay at. My partner and I waited in the lobby seating area for nearly 1 hour, at which point I went to the front desk to inquire about the room status. I was told it was not ready yet, and there was no approximate time. I politely expressed that I was disappointed the room is not ready on time, and I mentioned I couldn't even be offered a beverage for the wait. The front desk staff went off to talk to someone and their solution was to keep waiting.. and they would 'bump up" my room in cleaning order. I found it pretty appalling that for $1200 and explicitly asking for a drink the staff concluded that was not possible. I went back to my seat to wait. The only reason I didn't ask to immediately speak to management is because this was an anniversary trip and I did not want to spoil it. 20 minutes later we were handed the keys. Honestly the rooms look as pictured, I didn't have an issue with them. However, the front desk service at the hotel is not what I expected from a 4 star hotel. I had previously looked into booking the Toronto location for my staycation next month but I am so off put by the sub par service I would absolutely not book with this hotel again.

What a great hotel close to the heart of it all! Our stay at this hotel was amazing. Too bad it was for only one night. The hotel is modern chic with a great decor. The rooms are really spacious and clean. Our room had 2 queen sized beds and the room itself was really big. The bathroom as very clean and spacious as well. This hotel is situated about 30’min from old port and maybe 10 min or less to St Catherine street. The staff is very polite and accommodating. We had an 18 month old with us and they gave us milk at no charge and allowed us to check out late so he can take a nap, which I really appreciated. Thank you for an amazing stay!

We have previously stated before the renovation and then found the hotel to be a "family" hotel and loved it. Now it's chic but in a good way. Same, same, but different! I love the mod cons and bar, but others fond it too much considering the cost. Would I stay again? If I could get a good deal. Otherwise, there are lots of excellent, quiet hotels both downtown and in the old quarter.

Exceptional overall. Staff present at the check in desk were pleasant and a welcome change from the drone of the highway. Sydney who worked the bar on Thursday night recommended an amazing local eatery that set the tone for our stay. The room and amenities were exactly as expected. Will stay again.

Went to the bar here for a pre game drink, good service, small but does the trick.

It was somewhat a business trip, I met with former colleagues (I am retired). Really great hotel with a lot of unique features. The meeting rooms were very nice and there was always staff nearby for requests or problems. There was a problem with my reservation, doorman, front desk, and sales manager were all attentive and helpful, and it was resolved. The place has a lot of Expo-67 themed decor.

A wonderful 5 star stay at Hotel Le Germain! I will be raving about this hotel for many months to come. The room was beautiful, the hotel lobby/lounge and bar has such a good vibe and the staff always went above and beyond to accommodate you with genuinely friendly service. The room was huge, beds extremely comfortable and the location was perfect for a quick weekend in Montreal. We were also there over New Years, and it was so lovely to have a place to eat, drink and enjoy a coffee while the whole city was closed for the holiday.

My first time staying and it was a great experience. The staff are super friendly. It’s a boutique style hotel with a small stylist bar, my room was a good size but very nicely appointed. I was impressed with the styling and little touches such as an area to hang large snowy coats (it is Canada after all) and the room number etched onto water glasses. The cocktails in the bar are great and delivered with a nice bit of theatre. Recommended and I’ll be back.

Fantastic stay at Le Germain. The hotel is perfectly situated on a quieter street and is between two metro stops on the green line. A short walk to McGill + the Old Quarter. The design is very modern and the rooms are spacious. We loved it the moment we walked in!

Pros: Locations amazing, hotel room is amazing, the bed is soft and comfortable. The bathroom and shower are very high-tech. The room itself is clean and modern. Cons: DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE IF YOU LIKE TO HAVE A PEACEFUL NIGHT OF SLEEP. For how expensive it looks, the walls are paper thin. We could hear everything that was going outside and beside our room. Sucks we had a bunch of people staying right beside us as well. They did not party, however we can hear every conversation they had and when they came back to their room at 3am and left at 6am and then came back at 10am. Inquired about with the guy at the front desk about the sound level and what we should do if the noise escalates during the night time and he was passive aggressively telling us that that only families and business people stay here and if anything happens, we can call the concierge at night to complain. The attitude of the guy sucked.. totally arrogant. Your whole job is to take care of your guests, unfortunately you are not even able to do that. People like that should not work at the front desk job. We ended up staying one less night than intended. However the plus point was our front desk person at the checkout. She was accomodating and polite. She even us a discount on our stay. Thank you Myriam, completely opposite of your colleague. Maybe he should shadow her for a bit.

Odd hotel with absolutely no accessible outlets on one side of the bed. A round toilet room and a window into the shower? Wallpaper touting expo 67. Very strange. Rooms were quiet and service in the bar was good. 😁

Wonderful staff and centralized location. I felt that I could walk to most of the attractions within Montreal. The rooms were clean and staff working the front desk area were very attentive.

Oh my gosh, where do I even begin? Let me start by saying Hôtel Le Germain Montréal is easily the best hotel you can stay in when visiting Montreal, the reviews absolutely don't lie. I believe this is the highest rated hotel in the entire city. I want to preface review this by saying I don't write reviews very often. I've stayed at my fair share of luxury hotels and this is the best, beating out even the best 5 star hotels in West Hollywood and Las Vegas. The rooms are ridiculously spacious, clean and perfectly modern. I was lucky enough to be on the 21st floor facing the entirety of Montreal. Very thankful I got this room considering I didn't even book direct. The wood flooring and rainfall shower are my favorites in the room. There's also a really neat Clean My Room/Do Not Disturb button that you can use - why doesn't every hotel have these? The minibar is stocked to the brim with premium goodies, there is a wireless charger next to the bed, every floor has a water fill station, and the lobby is absolutely stunning. What else could you possibly ask for? If this hotel fits within your budget, please stay here. I promise you won't regret it!!! (For the hotel) In terms of areas for improvement, I think the user interface on the in room TV can be upgraded to something more modern and user friendly. In addition, I found the door greeting to be hit or miss during my stay. Sometimes someone was there, other times there was nobody. Would like to see this be more consistent if possible.

Absolutely beautiful hotel. Not only is the atmosphere comfortable and inviting, the finishing touches of this hotel are exceptionally well thought out: from electricity savings, local goods and glassware in the room, to the view at the hotel restaurant on floor 2, all the way to the classy welcome at the front door. This hotel even has spa massage facilities and a bar that is reminiscent of a posh speakeasy. I’ve been all over the world and this hotel is easily my favourite. Thoughtful, elegant, modern yet classic.

It was an excellent experience. The room that I had was big enough for two people... clean .. spacious... luminous The decor is retro modern minimalistic. THE ONLY PROBLEM .... it was the check-in... it was suppose to be at 3pm.... it was 5pm and we didn't have our room yet... that's why I give them 2 stars on the service..cause the reservation was made 2 moths in advance. The staff was very friendly and helpful !!!!

My husband and I were in Montreal in January to play tourist and visit family. The weather was horrible, with freezing rain and heavy snow, so we spent more time in the hotel than we had planned, and it was amazing. The restaurant (Le Boulevardier) was fabulous, and eating there for most meals was delightful. The ambiance is great: dark and cozy, but with clever use of mirrors to prevent it from feeling gloomy. The food was marvellous, each meal was fantastic, and the service was superb. We hung out at the bar (La Flaneur) as well, and the drinks were great, and the snacks delicious. Our room was large enough to do yoga in, even though it was a standard, and the decor was great. We will be going back again soon!

Exceptional personalized service. Great interior design. Good well- equipped gym. Terrific location in heart of Montreal. 400 m from train station. Lots of great details in room, like Bluetooth speaker, coffee maker with real cream and milk.

Great hotel! Loved my stay there. Staff were friendly, room was really clean with everything I needed for a business trip. Food at the restaurant was great and quiet too which was a bonus. And location was great. Walked everywhere I needed to.

I had the pleasure of speaking with George at the front desk after booking with my visa infinite perks card. My daughter was celebrating her 20th birthday and George arranged a very nice birthday note along with some birthday balloons upon her arrival in her room. The room was an upgrade with a fantastic view. George has gone over and above to assist in me prepaying for the room in advance for my daughters stay. It was a lovely having a great customer experience. Thank you for all your help!

Friends and I stayed here for 1 night while we spent a night on the town, and we all agreed this was a nice hotel. Good location. Very clean, moderns and quiet. The aesthetic was pleasing to look at it. Check-in was seamless and the restaurant inside for breakfast was delicious. Looking forward to booking in the future.

We only experienced the room and the bar. Very nice environment! Dog friendly so it was nice to be able to walk our dog and go into the bar on the way back in. Hotel room is very attractive.

We just spent the weekend at Le Germain Montréal. We booked the 4 course fine dining, parking and breakfast included. It was a perfect way to celebrate our babymoon 🥰 Thank you to Jacques Alexandre, Alexandra and the rest of the team for the incredible hospitality! I will be back for sure.

Valet service was fantastic - also very quick at bringing your car. Check in was OK- we had to inquire about late checkout and room upgrade for perks of booking through visa infinite. We did get both after prompting the front desk at check in. The hotel is nice at first - but the bed and pillows, we realized the next day was absolutely terrible. Extremely uncomfortable. The king upgrade room was very clean but felt and sounded like noise travels easily. The elevators are extremely slow and didn't help that one was being used as a service elevator. Great location - but there are cheaper options that are much better with comfortable beds!

Was only here a few hours due to a layover and not wanting to sleep at the airport. They only had two rooms and were able to accommodate despite the late wee hours of the morning. Friendly and in an interesting part of town. Would recommend. Also have a very nice lobby.

Lovely hotel in a good location with the best bedding I have ever had. There is construction work going on opposite but we could barely hear it. Zander was a star in helping repair our suitcase.

Pros: Friendly valet that greeted us, great food and room service both for dinner and breakfast. Chic rooms and great location. Check out staff was outstanding and did their best to address the issues caused by the check-in staff. Very friendly bell hops during check out. Cons: Check-in staff was curt and unwelcoming. Perhaps they didn't like how we looked. We checked in June 28 at appx 4:45 pm and stayed in room 1802 (if management cares to review). As we walk in, the gentleman at check-in takes one look at us and picks up the phone and pretends to be busy. A subtle unwelcoming touch. A lady to the side of him proceeds to help us out in a very matter-of-fact way. This gentleman then takes one look at our dog and tells us 'you know there is a pet fee right?''. No 'BonJour/Hi' just a curt note. No offer was made by either the lady or the gentleman to take our bags up. Later that day they even made getting breakfast via room service into a chore as opposed to making it seamless. Overall: I was about to cancel my upcoming stay with this brand in Calgary but the room service and check-out staff quality made me keep it. I will avoid the Montreal location though. I took a chance with this brand even though I have status with Marriot and Hilton. My mistake.

Simply adore this hotel. Stayed for four nights on return to Canada and couldn't have asked for a better welcome home. The staff are marvelously helpful and kind, the rooms are immaculate, the gym on the 17th floor is kitted out with everything you need and I had it to myself each time I worked out. The location couldn't be better and the bar/restaurant in the hotel itself are clearly popular for a reason. I would definitely recommend a stay here if you're in Montreal for work or for pleasure.

Felt like it was a bit of style over substance. The staff was very nice, although our only interactions were check-in and check-out. Had a classic room with a king bed. There was an outlet and lamp on one side of the bed and not the other. We had to move the bed to get to another outlet and unplug the reading lamps. Light switches were in odd places and had inconsistent interfaces. There is no door to the bathroom, just to the toilet. This may not seem like a big deal, but it can easily wake up the other person sleeping. The shower had a floor to ceiling window. Not sure why. Hot water took a long time to come through the faucets and one morning we didn't have any hot water. There are three elevators and they all seemed really slow. In the four days we were there, at least one elevator was out of service. There is an amazing gym on the 17th floor and the hotel offers in-room massages. Was unaware of any of this until check-out. Although not sure how there would be an in-room massage in any rooms except the suites as there is no room. There is no hotel book in the room to make you aware of the services and offerings of the hotel. There was a nice card on the desk with a QR code to offer a tip for the hotel staff. It's a nice hotel, beautiful, but not the best I would say as a first time tourist to Montreal. It's a 20 minute walk to old town and a 25 minute walk to Mile End (trendy area). The hotel is near a metro station, but it's two trains to go anywhere touristy except the Mount Royal Park. We didn't try the restaurant or bar so no comment on that.

An Instagram-worthy boutique hotel located in the heart of downtown Montreal. Walking distance to St Catherine street and shopping. The hotel offers a modern lobby, trendy bar, and uniquely designed rooms. The staff were friendly and courteous.

Had the pleasure to stay a numerous different Hotel Germain locations across Canada and while all of them are impeccable in terms of modernity, cleanliness great amenities upscale dining and an exemplary breakfast (always the best croissants!) I have to say the Montreal location has the most personable and nicest concierges and door people. I'm always so happy that the Germain is so accommodating for dogs and this location especially was super kind and gave so much love to my sweet Bully pup.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel! From the moment I checked in, the staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating. The room was spacious, clean, and well-appointed, with all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and I had a great night's sleep. The location of the hotel was also excellent, with easy access to local attractions and restaurants. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and memorable stay. Thank you for a wonderful experience!
