Fantastic hotel. I love a good hidden gem and I really feel like this hotel is one. It’s clean, very well maintained, fantastic staff and spacious rooms. All I require in a hotel room is a spacious bathroom, comfortable king size bed and an environment were everyone minds their own business. If you agree…this is the hotel for you…I was on the top floor and there was construction outside but my room and bed were so comfortable it really didn’t bother me. There is a breakfast buffet every morning. I didn’t wake up in time but from what I’ve gathered it’s a good breakfast. The best part about this hotel is the location. It was my first time in Montreal and I wanted to explore downtown. I was within walking distance to everything I wanted to do! I can’t wait to return to Montreal and I am requesting that same room.

Great hotel! Very professional and fast service. Pool is beautiful. Locations is great, right by the big mall (Eaton Centre) and only 20 min walk from Old Port of Montreal, the walk is manageable, Uber less than $10. The rooms are big and very clean. Kitchen is quite effective. Breakfast is cold items, no waffles/eggs, only bagel, yogurt, etc. you go down and request for items then take it back to your room to eat.

This hotel was really good value for the price. Large rooms with high ceilings, ac worked well. Didn’t use the kitchen other than the fridge and toaster but it’s nice to have. Pool was quiet. Great location. It’s within walking distant of almost everywhere we went during the long weekend. Quick walk to old Montreal/the port about 15-20 mins. Would stay here again.

This hotel is one of the best hotels we've ever stayed at, and we were even allowed to bring our dog. Rooftop pool, terrace and gym were awesome. Price point much less than the AirBnB places we were looking at initially. Service was amazing and employees were very polite. Valet service very reasonably priced and fast. Rooms included kitchens and the most comfortable beds and were super clean. Daily continental breakfast was a wonderful added touch. Located right in the heart of downtown Montreal! Can't say enough good things about this hotel. Will definitely be returning. Thank you for everything! See you again soon!

Wonderful location and value. Stayed with our family in a one bedroom unit. Rooms are well appointed. Everything you need and fully stocked kitchen. Breakfast is perfect and what most of us have on a daily basis. They have Montreal bagels so who could ask for anything else, they are so good. Gets a bit crazy during breakfast but we never had an issue getting food or finding a place to sit. Pool is on the roof top with glass walls on two sides. Nice view and ok temp, I would say about 82 degrees. Would stay again for sure

Really enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful, the valet service in particular was great. We had the large suite which was great, really liked the high ceilings and spaciousness. The decor isn't the most up to date, but the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was pretty standard, we just brought the food up our room. The attached restaurant, although I think not affiliated with the hotel, was excellent. Overall a really enjoyable stay and would stay again.

I came into town for a 5 day stay and had not been here before. The building is a repurposed original textile building. The suite was massive! The ceilings are high ceilings and the kitchen was exactly what you would have needed. Free terrace on the roof and pool and exercise room was available (I didn't make use of them). Be sure to ask the concierge questions; they were very helpful while we were in town. A great value for the expanse of the corner suite that we enjoyed. I'll definitely stay again!

Opted for the King loft suite higher floor and can truly say you won’t be disappointed. Beautiful spacious suite.. and was massive. Full kitchen and living room Literally felt we were living in an apartment. The valet was also very good $25 a night with unlimited in and outs. The entrance to the hotel is on a quieter street so no issues entering and exiting The complimentary breakfast was surprisingly good. they had gluten free bread and even banana bread so take advantage of that.

Great hotel with large, clean rooms. Staff and location were amazing. Nice continental breakfast with decent selection that you can either eat in or use the supplied trays to bring back to your room. Beautiful view from rooftop patio. Full kitchen with all necessary supplies.. it even has a dishwasher with the pods included. Would be perfect except for ONE BIG THING…. Construction. It starts at about 6:30 AM and goes all day. It is loud…very loud at times. I get up early, but other family members were not happy. This construction still has a long way to go in the adjacent building so I don’t think this problem will disappear in the very near future. As soon as I arrived and saw what was going on, I asked for a room on the other side of the construction but was told that the room type I had reserved, the two bed studio suites, were only available on that side of the building. Perhaps other sides are not as bad? I am still giving this hotel five stars though since it is no fault of theirs that this is happening and at least at some point it will be resolved.

This hotel was top notch. Rooms were beautiful and clean. Excellent location. Very friendly staff. They upgraded our room upon arrival so we had a family suite which was awesome for the kids. Furthermore, I left something behind accidentally in the room when we checked out and they shipped it to me the next day, which went above and beyond. Would highly highly recommend this hotel!

Very large family suite, reasonable price for the size and location. Nice but not so fancy a regular person feels uncomfortable, great views from the rooftop pool and gym. Valet parking, very dog friendly. My only complaint is that they don't have wheelchair accessible rooms at the lower prices in the non-suite options so we had to pay more for the family suite. The bathroom was large and nicely accessible except there is no roll in shower. The bed height is probably a little high for people who transfer from a wheelchair - I have an elevate feature on my powerchair or else it would have been a problem.

Large, comfortable, and quiet room, good bed. Kitchenette available if want to self-cater, but many eating options nearby. Very good breakfast, though no hot foods. Could not set room temperature below 21.5C - warmer than we like for sleeping. Pleasant staff. Great location. Would return.

I have been to this location twice and when I return to Montreal, I am going to make it number 3. Simply because it's the best. The location is right in the heart of it all, the rooms are spacious, the cleanliness and amenities are top notch! The staff also hits customer service out of the park. They are extremely friendly and will go above and beyond with anything you need. I notice the staff is on point with communication as well as things get done rather quickly. You'll be doing yourself a favor when you book a stay at this great hotel!

Beautiful, comfortable room and amenities. Very spacious with everything one would need. Fully stocked modern kitchen. Breakfast had a good variety of tasty food and pickup (covid) was well organised. Staff pleasant and efficient. Would definitely recommend. Great location too - close to downtown, old town and train station.

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This website will compare hundreds of booking websites and typically will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This resort is one of the most well known in the area. I've been staying here for a long time. If you stay for a few nights you for sure won't regret it. So close to everything, rooms were comfy and cozy! Someone else in our party in another room had difficulty with a shower drain, however they got moved to a functional room and were compensated! Beds were lovely, rooms were quiet, breakfast was limited in selection but good. Will definitely stay here again!

Fantastic hotel in downtown Montreal that's only a 10 minute walk away from the historic quarter. Lovely amenities, very clean and quiet, very helpful and friendly staff. The continental breakfast had a fabulous selection and the food was also very fresh. Next time we're in Montreal we will absolutely be back.

The place is really beautiful and has lots of character (I truly loved the high ceilings in all the rooms). The location is amazing. Walking distance to all major attractions. The hotel management is the most accommodating that I have ever seen. There was major disruption on our trip plan [short story: Thrifty Car Rental canceled on us (a party of four families) and we had to extend our stay in Montreal], they extended our stay at the same rate that we had booked months ago and managed to not move 3 families, for the last one that they had to move to a new room, they gave a major upgrade (from a suite to a 2 bedroom-2bathroom unit). It was clear that they are doing all that they could to help us. I would definitely stay again.

Great location, with nearby sites, shopping, and restaurants - many within easy walking distance (even for the elderly and physically challenged). The restaurant off the lobby turned out to be quite good (we conveniently ate there on our last night); and the best restaurant we visited in Montreal (Vargus) was just a block away. The rooms were clean, large and spacious with a particularly light and airy feel due to the wall to wall windows and high ceilings. A full kitchen (dishwasher, oven with cook top, sink, and full refrigerator) was very nice. The bed was comfortable. The cleaning staff were prompt, thorough, and responsive to requests (more coffee packets, sugar, etc.). The hotel was adequately staffed and the staff quite helpful. For instance, when we called before arrival to ask about accessibility options, they informed us of construction going on at one side and the back of the hotel. They then ensured that our three rooms were not facing that. The construction around the hotel was only a moderate / occasional impediment to driving and walking. And despite street construction all over Montreal, this hotel's location allows easy access from / to a main road and some back ways in and out (though around Philips Square, many are one way). A long level area in front of the hotel was reserved for loading and unloading. So there were no problems with passing traffic. Valets (usually immediately available) then parked your car in a hotel garage and retrieved it on request. A guest laundry, gym, pool, and a nice large wrap-around observation deck is on the top floor. The hotel is well insulated from the weather and sound. Of course, it helps that the hotel is on a side street and not a main road.

Our family of four stayed here for three nights so we could catch a Habs game. The location was fantastic and it was easy to walk to Old Montreal and also to the Bell Centre. The rooms were huge, extremely quiet and the kitchenette was well stocked. The free breakfast was good and the indoor pool up on their rooftop was great too (not huge but nice nonetheless). The view from our room (701) was great!. The price was very reasonable and our three nights included valet parking. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Room was great. Had little kitchen (with an oven). Bug sell for me was gym. Normal size for hotel but good variety of machines and all in working order. Only thing I didn't like was the lighting in the bathroom, created yellow hue when getting ready. Also served continental breakfast. And perfect location for me.

It was great staying here. The restaurant is a bit expensive but what they made is nothing I could do at home which is always a big plus for me. The staff are top notch and the drinks, a step above. Easy check in from what I understood. Zero complaints. Just small mugs so bring your own.

We came here for a 2 night stay while on a tour around Canda and USA. The rooms were huge! It came with kitchen, oven fridge, washing machine and more. Very nice building, and great overall. Only negative, the breakfast place was very small and was quite a rush and crowded in the morning and the blankets on the sofa bed were very thin and even with 2 blankets and the air con off, it was still very cold, but overall great stay and we thoroughly recommend. 😀

Beautiful hotel! Bed was comfy, loved the full kitchen (we only used the microwave but it was stocked with cutlery, glasses, pots/pans, plates etc.) and huge fridge. Pool was small but nice. Facilities were clean, location was great with lots of food options nearby and a short walk to Old Montreal. Staff were always pleasant and helpful. Would stay here again!

I tought i booked a suite with only 1 private bedroom but it was actually 2 private bedroom!!The suite was so big with 2 bathrooms ! A cute little kitchen with appliances and a dining area!!!Kids really enjoyed our stay here!!!The pool area is very clean we will definitely come back here on our next trip!! The staff is great !!the only thing(its not a complain) is that they only offer valet parking($) but we ended up really enjoying it ,not having to drive around to find a parking spot !

Exceptional customer service. Very attentive to guests. Also, an unusual set of circumstances – I forgot my $300 Apple AirPods in my room, and they kindly informed me and then promptly mailed them back to my home in Nova Scotia expedited mail. This to me is going above and beyond. I highly recommend this hotel to anybody.

This is a great hotel in a not-so-great location for tourists. If you are on business travel, this place is perfect with a decent gym and great kitchen, dining and work areas. For tourists, you really need to take public transportation out of the city or walk to the old town for more interesting walking and dining experiences.

Very friendly, professional staff who were eager to help. Free breakfast (very busy; avoid the items that pose as ‘bagels’), pool and gym. Spacious, quiet rooms, comfortable bed, kitchen and seating areas. Flat screen television, and a very roomy bathroom as well. Everything you need is a ten minute walk, including shopping and dining. And even if there is something you can’t find in the immediate area, the subway is a five minute walk. We were very happy with our choice of hotels. Terrific place.

Great place, in a good location, really big rooms/suites. Very clean, easy to find your way around, although not so easy to spot when trying to find your way home at the end of the day! The breakfast is basic but tasty and plentiful. The pool isnt huge, but was a nice unexpected surprise. The gym is a very good size and well equipped, and the little terrace up there overlooking the square is a sun trap. Bed was comfortable, kitchen well equipped and the bathroom was decent too. All very clean, and quiet. There was a building site outside but they didnt cause me any issues.

The Hotel is located within walking distance to everything in downtown Montreal. Clean, friendly staff comfortable accommodations and quick service. The pool is well kept and breakfast is good. Stayed in the family 2 bedroom suite and felt right at home. We will be sure to stay here again when visiting.

We had a great experience here. Rooms were clean and spacious. The front desk and valet were all very friendly and helpful. The rooftop balcony has nice views and is a great place to unwind on the property. My only regret is that we didn't get to try the (unaffiliated) restaurant downstairs. If you are staying here and want to eat there, make sure to make a reservation.

We've been at 7 hotels over 10 days, between Chicago and Quebec City, and front desker Carla is out of sight. What a lovely and valuable contact for anyone enjoying this thoughtful hotel. We did get a bigger than expected suite (to match what she likes with her older kids - ours are 19 yo). It was like a mansion, with two baths and full kitchen. Many rooms have the same kitchen setup and probably all are spacious with very high ceilings. It can be tough to cool below 75 degrees on Montreal's hottest August days, but those sleeping near the AC unit will feel cooler. The rooftop patio and views are very nice, and the hotel is wonderfully situated for most of Montreal's main highlights. The valet stands inside most of the way, ready to take your vehicle or get your vehicle. (During busy times, another valet or two arrive to also stand outside.) It's a big entrance and wonderfully quiet hotel (unless construction starts on back building, perhaps?). But breakfast is intensely busy after 9 am. It'd be great if they extend service till 10 am when rooms are full, queues are expected. Terrific building, location, appointments, and staff. We will come back!🏅 🏆 💯

Great stay. Room was pretty big and had a whole kitchen. The gym, pool and patio on the top floor were all very nice. Good equipment for a hotel gym and a nice view from the patio.

  • 5/5 Nicole D. 1 year ago on Google
Fantastic location! Room was huge and very clean. Bed was so comfortable. The continental breakfast had everything you could want-just get there early to beat the crowd. Very accommodating staff who let us check in extremely early after our flight. The rooftop patio was beautiful and a great place to unwind. Our only one complaint was the construction going on next store that started at 6am each morning during the week. It wasn’t a huge deal for us since we are early birds anyway. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed here with our family. We enjoyed our time here... Great service, conveniently located, the women at the reception are the nicest, there is valet service. Breakfast hall should definitely be double in size of what it is at the moment, it gets insanely crowded.. also is not every well ventilated. It’s a great option for families, they also accept pets which was a big reason for us choosing this place. I am very happy we chose to stay here vs one of our standard bonvoy places. Thanks to all the wonderful staff at Le Square.

Great hotel! Love the outdoor patio upstairs by the pool! Huge rooms. High ceilings. Staff here are helpful. Kitchen was so nice to have. Closets were huge. Bathroom was lovely and spacious, great for getting ready. Hotel is close to everything. We walked everywhere. Location location location. Breakfast was good.

We stayed here on a business trip of mine, brought my spouse and puppy, so needed a dog friendly hotel. They blew away my expectations. The hotel room was fabulous, we stayed in a family suite so we could keep the puppy in her crate in a separate room. Worked out great for all of us. Two bedrooms, a living room, kitchen and huge bathroom. Lots of closet space with lights and rolling doors to close off to pup. Main bedroom had a door, secondary bedroom had a separation wall. All rooms were large. Very high ceiling, making it feel roomier. Surprising how much space there was. There was enough room for playing fetch inside with the long open hall in the middle connecting all the rooms. Tons of restaurants nearby. We ended up doing takeout and eating in our kitchen, which was great during exhausted evenings after long conference days. Close to everything including the Montreal Convention Center. Valet parking. A one time fee for a pet. A park across the street for taking the puppy out to do business. Very clean room and easy to keep clean. We only had housekeeping take the garbage and refresh towels. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again whether with family or alone on business. It would be great for staying a long period whether for work or vacation with family, kids and a pet (only one). Wish I'd had time to use the pool, but was happy to see they had a pool and did bring my bathing suit. I don't know if there was a hot tub or not, I didn't go look, but I didn't see one listed, so probably not. It looked like a nice pool.

Extremely clean hotel in the best location in Montreal. Breakfast had lots of selection of breads, yogurt, fruit, cereal and excellent coffee. Gym and pool are very nice and the rooftop deck has a beautiful view. Room was huge and was surprised by the kitchen setup. Can’t beat the location. Very quiet. Excellent value. Staff are great. 10/10. Will happily stay here again. Glad we found it.

Had a two room suite which was really big. Our rooms bathrooms were not in any of the rooms but we're back to back in the main area. Very happy with the room. Everyone was very helpful. Was able to walk around a good part of the city from this hotel. Would definitely stay here again.

I do not have enough compliments to pay this hotel, and this review is long overdue. We have been staying at Le Square Phillips for years now, and they are everything we ever need and want. The rooms are so well-appointed and QUIET, which is fantastic for the city. They are pet-friendly, in a wonderful location, have a very good parking situation, and have a nice breakfast that the menfolk in my family enjoy. But I MUST highlight the service. Everyone we encounter there is super-friendly and truly helpful. They even rescued my husband's dress shoe that fell apart last second before we attended a formal wedding reception. I cannot recommend this hotel more highly.

Our first trip to Montreal was greatly enhanced by staying at Le Square Phillips Hotel. The location, close to two Metro lines, was perfect. The comfort and amenities were exceeded only by the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff. A special shout out to our concierge Peter, who, aside from being a total pleasure to chat with, gave us invaluable advice on things to see and do, and tips for getting around.

  • 5/5 Gaby J. 10 months ago on Google
Spent 3 nights here with toddlers (both under 5) in the family suite. Great setup and perfect for families. It has one separate bedroom with a queen and then another full queen in the living space. Very spacious, and kitchen turned out very useful. Boys loved the pool! Staff are very friendly. Continental breakfast was basic but all we needed and worth the convenience with two young children. We didn’t expect room service but they came and did a great job. Checkout is at noon - we didn’t need this long but it was so nice not to have to rush bc some other hotels typically have earlier check outs. I thought it was well worth it and would highly recommend for families. We walked to old port both days and it was doable and fine.

A must stay if you want to explore Montreal. Across the street from the metro, blocks away from shopping at Eaton mall and the rest of downtown Montreal. The staff was very accommodating for us and helped us anytime we asked. The rooms were spotless and clean. Parking is CAD$30 a day, keep in mind but this is typical throughout Montreal. The only issue we had was the continental breakfast. I wish they had eggs and sausage instead of just bagels, deli meat and cereal. Overall this was the best hotel I stayed in at a city and will come again!

I cannot say enough positive things about our stay here. The staff was super nice. Booking.com had charged us a higher price than the price for that day. The staff reduced the rate without any request. We missed our first night stay due to a storm, they did not charge us. The room itself was clean. The kitchenette had everything you could imagine. Hotel location is awesome.

Amazing rooms, full kitchen, better than the one we have home. Helpful and friendly staff who let us check in earlier than we were supposed to and didn't charge us for leaving a day early. Amazing location, amenities etc...I will be back!

Excellent stay, exceeded expectations in many ways. It’s on the edge of downtown, 15min walk to old down and all the attractions. Velvet parking is totally worth it, super friendly professional service, getting the car fast. The room is huge, well designed with high quality, high ceiling, everything is so comfortable. Highly recommend.

The drop off entrance was nice and easy to access on the side street without having to worry about traffic. The rooms were very spacious and clean with a full kitchen (fridge, stove, kettle, microwave, dishwasher) which included all of the amenities. We took advantage of the free breakfast and enjoyed the pool on the rooftop level. On site parking with in and out privileges was great to have. We walked around downtown most of the times, the location was close to everything. Even though we had a little bit of a mishap with our vehicle key being misplaced, Genevieve (the front desk manager) was very quick to action and addressed the concern. We will definitely be coming back here again for our future stays.
