I don't even know where to start. The first thing that strikes you is the really strong stale/fetid smell, it's almost unbearable. It's so strong that it almost makes you throw up. I wanted to leave right away but I arrived very late (23:30) and needed to check out early in the morning the next day. There's no window that you can open to ventilate the room to make it a bit better. I went to the front desk to ask what can I do regarding the bad smell, and he wasn't surprised at all (probably he hears this complaint every day) and told me bluntly "turn on the AC and set it to high speed and the smell will go away". The circumstances didn't get better because the AC wasn't working, so I had to resign and accept the terrible situation. - The room has old furniture and is not very clean, the ironing board was dirty - One of the dressing doors was stuck, so you could access it just from one side - The outlet near the bed wasn't working, so they crossed a cable from the opposite side of the room to light up the lamp - The curtain was hanging - The mini-fridge was very noisy, so I had to unplug it to sleep - The so-called "private parking" is 4 min drive away (a hospital indoor parking) and then you have to walk back to the hotel. So if you have big luggage just be aware of this "small" detail. The only thing good about this hotel is that it is located downtown. Also, the room is quite big.

One of the worst hotels I’ve ever stayed in. Can’t believe they’re called a hotel because they don’t deserve that label. Came to Montreal for the weekend and completely regret picking this place to stay. The rooms are disgusting and there are stains everywhere. The hotel smells like a dirty gym locker and has this distinct moldy smell that is horrendous. The furniture, walls, beds, everything was covered in stains. On top of that, the staff is horrendously rude. The front desk people are usually not at the front desk or if they are, they barely help and don’t offer solutions. One receptionist rolled her eyes at us. Another night, we came back to the hotel to find the receptionist laying on the couch. They don’t offer to clean the rooms or even bring you fresh towels. When you ask, they act SO rude and either give you the run around or just don’t help. If you ask them to clean the room, they don’t do it and just outright refuse. I asked a staff member for a towel and she sighed in annoyance and then handed me a dirty towel on her cart. Our rooms didn’t even have outlets and there’s barely any room to walk around. The beds smell horrendous and the towels are basically paper towels. Definitely some health code violations here because my family member started feeling sick inside the hotel and had a bad cough inside the room but would feel totally fine outside. I’ve never received the runaround more than at this hotel. It’s like the laziest people work here and they don’t want to help. AVOID at all costs and stay away from this hotel.

Depends on what you're looking for. I will not be staying here again. The location is great and the staff seem friendly but that's all. It has great potential but it really disappoints. I arrived late in the evening so I didn't take note of a lot of things because I was tired after a long trip. I did notice the hotel room looked very different from what I saw in pictures online. The bed was very uncomfortable. It was hard to get any good sleep. The mattress felt like cardboard. The room smelled of dust and the fittings were quite dated. I consoled myself with the fact that I planned to spend most of my time outside the hotel so it should be fine, but that didn't help much. There was a guide in the room to call the restaurant for food but there was no menu. The wallpaper was peeling off and there's no way to control the air conditioner. On my last night, I was trying to smooth the sheets when I saw the mattress cover. It was covered in hairs and all kind of things. I spent the entire night wide awake. I couldn't wait to leave. The hotel has a run-down feel to it. Better to pay a little more for comfort elsewhere.

The price was descent but the management could do way more to provide a better service... Liked · -Location is good (walking distance to old Montreal and the port and will connected to many place. -Staff were fairly helpful (they gave me map and guided me to the attractions. They sent some to pick my bags because the hotel luggage cart was busy. When I asked for fill-up shampoo, toils ..etc, they provided me with few quantity to use). Disliked · -Rooms were not ready although we paid in full four days before arrival. -Room Service was bad (floors were not swept, coffee machine was not clean, toilet paper was not new "the old one from previous guest"). -I have been asked many time to check-out early although I have time until 12. -Park was not available in the first day. I have to follow-up many time the next day to get it.

Stayed here for 2 nights for the location. Read some of the reviews but felt most were having over-expectations for a budget hotel. Overall the room was fairly clean, spacious, bed and shower room were acceptable. The carpet was pretty old looking, i always bring slippers so it was not a big deal, the toilet was a bit goofy at times flushing. Other than that, i can't really complain much about this place for the price point. I wouldn't have a issue staying here again.

Very well situated, at a walking distance from two subway stations and many restaurants and shops. Comfy enough beds, I guess. But that's about where the positive ends and the horror begins. For such a big hotel, we expected parking. To our biggest disappointment, we were greeted by exactly zero parking space and had to roam the Montreal streets to look for paid parking. Upon entering our room, we thought it looked normal enough, albeit very small and quite old-fashioned. Upon closer inspection, we found stain after stain after stain. The room was clearly not cleaned regularly, nor thoroughly, as it was one of the dirtiest and grossest hotel room I had ever had the misfortune of being in. White stains on the bedsheets. Yellow stains on the bathroom ceiling that started sweating when we showered. Unknown stains of all sorts on the walls and curtains. Mold on the ceiling. Blood stain inside the lampshade (?!?) Ants in the bathroom. ON THE 7TH FLOOR. All in all, an absolutely disgusting experience. We did not choose this hotel and are definitely never going back, nor recommending it to anyone. Just stay away and your life will be all the better for it.

After having asked to fix the toilet 3 times in 2 days, I come back to my room and the toilet wasn’t fixed yet. So I call the reception and maintenance is in my room to fix the issue within 3 minutes. I wish I didn’t have to get upset to get some results. Overall, not worth the stay for the price.

If it was possible to give 0 stars I would, it was that bad. My bf and I ATTEMPTED to stay here over the August long weekend. We booked through our works benefits page (3rd party through Hotel Beds). Upon arrival the line to the reception was long with 1 receptionist attempting to help us all. Each person that went up to the desk was met with a rude greeting followed by an explanation of how the reservation could not be found and no rooms were left to book. There was at least 4 parties attempting to call Expedia or Hotel Beds to see what the issue was. While most often 3rd party sites leave the buyer at risk rather than booking directly, this time the issue was with the hotel. The hotel overbooked their rooms and did not confirm any incoming reservations with the third party. Hotel beds confirmed with me that the hotel even had the wrong email on file for them to send them the reservations and while attempting to call the front desk with myself on hold, no one picked up the phone! the hotel staff were all extremely rude, unwilling to help and showed no sympathy for all the patrons dealing with issues on their booking. We had just driven 5 hours from Toronto to enjoy our stay and now we had no where to sleep, one couple with us drove from Niagara! The hotel is dated and completely falling apart. Be careful sitting on the chairs in the lobby as you may fall off from the broken legs! The bathroom they so graciously let me use while I tried to figure out our next move, smelled of urine and looked like it had not been serviced in a while. I was able to get a full refund on my stay and THANK GO I did, after reading the rest of these reviews with the room conditions and the way we were treated at the front, I can only imagine the torture we would have endured even if they did find my reservation. Don't waste your time, just pay the extra and stay at a brand name hotel closer to the core. The area near the hotel is scary enough with the large homelessness population and people that feel the need to constantly spit as they walk. If you want a great experience this just isn't it.

. I wish it was possible to give less than 1 star. the service was the most disgusting and terrible one I’ve experienced. it’s sad because it can have a good potential. the sheets are disgusting, the receptionist was the worst I’ve came across. she wanted to charge us extra fees because we were late. she didn’t even have a proof for that policy and refused to show me. she was so disrespectful. the manager was even worse. she made fun of us in front of other clients. I’m surprised this hotel is still working. oh and apparently they used to wake people up at 1 in the morning so they leave and at 8AM because they want to replace them with homeless people. do yourselves a favour and never go there.

This hotel doesn’t have great reviews but don’t let that discourage you. We enjoyed our time here, it’s close to downtown, old port and major tourist attractions and lots of restaurants around. Our room was clean, we got fresh towels every 3days! The lady at the front desk wasn’t friendly throughout our stay but that’s okay! There’s a lot going with people. Can’t blame her! Other than that, we loved it here!

We went with extremely low expectations because the reviews were very bad. We were pleasantly surprised when we saw that everything was quite good. It is a hotel that fits perfectly with the price paid. We got the night for 75 cad and the truth is that it was pretty good. The attention is not the best but other than that everything is fine. The room was clean and the bed quite comfortable. It has parking that costs 23 cad. It is very well located.

If I could give it zero star I would. There was literally a mouse in the room, when I called front desk they were absolutely no help. The hotel was disgusting, ceiling had a layer of dust, fixtures looked as if they had never been dusted. Staff was unfriendly. They wouldn’t even come help with the mouse situation. The next day I called again, and they laughed it off and said oh yea we have this problem. I would not recommend this. Stay away from this hotel

Absolutely do not book here. My fiancé and I got to Quebec City and loved it so much, we wanted to stay an extra day. So we put in a request four days ago to modify the date and did not hear back from the hotel. We then called the hotel, and they said that we had to call booking, they did not mention at all in that phone call that they would refuse to accommodate the change. We called booking, they tried to reach the hotel but were unable to. They left a message and told us it should be no problem to change the stay to a day later. We told them that we did not mind paying more for the room if that was required. Today, the day we were supposed to check in, the hotel JUST notified us, the morning we were originally supposed to check in, that they would not adjust the date. They said they reservation is non refundable. I explained that I did not want a refund I just wanted to move my stay a day later. The woman on the phone said there is absolutely nothing they can do. Really gross to wait until the very last minute to let us know when they could have told us this days ago à when we first called. AWFUL service.

I had to call reception to obtain confirmation of charges made on my invoices which were printed incorrectly. After several attemps trying to explain what I was looking for, the Director of reception was very rude by constantly interrupting me and believe it or not, shouting at me! After trying multiple times to obtain what I was looking for, as I already had the information she was giving me, she hung up on me!! What a professional way to deal with the public!! Thankfully, I called the Accounting Department and spoke to a nice lady who was very sympathetic with my situation and immediately gave me the information I was looking for within a few minutes. I told her what had happened before I called her and she apologized for the awful and unprofessional way I had been treated. We sent our employee at this hotel on work purposes and will not be giving our business to this establishment in the future. From the experience I just went through, this Director of reception should not be in the position she is in as she has NO CLUE how to deal with the public. OUT WITH HER!!!

If I can give 0 star I would have given, here are the reasons: cleanliness- rooms are dirty not cleaned properly, saw hair balls in bedroom carpet, not mine. Carpet is dusty, they have extension cords covered in dust. Room has old musky smell. Bathroom- Light not working, dark when you are in shower, the tub is rusty. The toilet seat looks likes like people were standing on it, with marks and scratches. Elevator- One was not working Tv- not working Smoking- people are smoking outside front door, you go out and come in seeing that. Reception- looks so rundown, they don’t keep the and first impression is bad. Lobby furniture- is dirty and sagging, time to change. Hold bag -charge is $5 it’s crazy they charge for holding bag. I will never stay hear again, had bad experience, properly is not maintained well, it almost felt like a hotel in the hoods. They only thing I liked was location and that’s why I booked here not knowing it was a filthy hotel. This was the worst hotel experience I have had in my life, even traveling through 3rd world countries they were better maintained.

Usually I check reviews before booking, so when I didn’t, I was mortified by all the negative 1 and 2 stars reviews. Seeing how I couldn’t cancel, I decided to just go with it. We booked a queen size bed with a couch. It came with a desk, coffee table, TV, and drawer with a mini fridge hidden inside the cabinet. Appearance wise, it looks a bit charming and dated compared to the modern sleek style of hotels we have nowadays. There’s a weird stale smell when you first walk in but it disappears shortly after. Staff were friendly—helped me figure out parking; nice location in downtown because everything was in walking distance. The curtains are hella blackout. I honestly could’ve slept a whole day away with no idea it was daylight outside. Shower is nice with an adjustable shower head! The only cons I have are the AC and the TV. The AC is probably ready to retire because man did it struggle. We had it set to 65 but it just couldn’t get the temp to that, and mostly hovered around the 70s and 80s so we were hot throughout each night. The TV is a little confusing to figure out because it’s all in French and channels are very limited compared to a typical hotel and you have to pay extra for channels you want to watch (ie: HGTV) other than that, our stay was smooth and pleasant.

DON'T BE FOOLED AND PULLED IN BY THE CHEAP PRICE ITS NOT WORTH IT! Absolutely worst hotel I've ever been in. Got to room in the middle of the week, so there should have been no issues with room being ready or clean. Got to assigned room and one of the beds wasn't made, the room was dirty and garbage still in the trash. They reassigned is to a different room, which luckily was clean, but not perfect. There is no safe in the room, no free breakfast (CAD$13 and you barely get anything), and the WiFi is the slowest I've ever seen. Even dial up was faster it was ridiculous!!! And we were there for almost a week so we asked for more towels etc for the room. First they told me at the front desk to wait an hour and call and someone will deliver items to the room. I called almost 2 hours later and they required that I come back down to the front desk to pick up the items myself. After waiting in line there to ask for the items, the man smirked at me as if it was so funny that I was asking for more towels, like it was the most unheard of things ever. DON'T STAY HERE!!!!!

If you pay it directly through the Hotel they're going to steal your money so do it through apps like booking but watch out for the non refundable reservations. Staff was rude, unresponsive and irresponsible. Also have in mind breakfast is not included for a night that's 100$ or more once you pay the taxes They didn't clean up my room or changed any of the towels, soap, shampoo or coffee 🤡

Worst hotel ever. Parking is limited and made us leave at checkout even after you paid for the day. Rooms were dirty. Floors had long black hair everywhere. Bathroom door handle was broken and fan. Was woken up at 6:30am by slamming doors and garbage removal that went on for hours. Would not recommend unless desperate.

The customer service was appalling. I was with my two sons, no one in the lobby, trying to check in at 3:30, and they wanted to charge me an extra 10 dollars for early check-in . When I asked if they could wave it since they weren't busy and the room was already made, the guy behind the counter said no, and he refused to ask his manager. I paid 25 for parking, and he said I could give you the parking key. You can wait in the garage out of principle I did cause I didn't want to give him any extra money. Then I left with my kids when I returned 2 hours later they had given away my parking even tho I already paid for it and was forced to park somewhere very awkwardly not a parking space. The room itself was OK but the bathroom was dirty toilet not cleaned didn't feel comfortable taking a shower if your looking for a cheap spot dt it's OK if your looking for customer service don't come here!!

If I could give 0 stars I would. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS HOTEL OR EVEN THROUGH BOOKINGS. Had to cancel 2 weeks before the booking dates due to COVID and the vaccine passport roll out and they were NOT willing to refund us the full amount. No manager on weekends to speak to which is ridiculous. As other reviews have said, terrible management. AVOID AT ALL COST.

Not the worst spot in the world but it's nothing to write home about haha. The front desk worker was very polite and accommodating. If you're looking for a decently cheap spot to spend the night, I would recommend It's nothing fancy but it definitely isn't bad!

The only positive I can offer is that it’s in a central location. However, there a several other hotels within a few blocks that can only be better. Check in was slow. Staff was indifferent at best. Elevators are beat up and only one worked. The room provided three pillows for a double room, and when I asked every day of the three days we stayed, I was given a different excuse for why I couldn’t have one. Seriously, how does a hotel not have extra pillows? Won’t be back, but they won’t care anyway.

This is the most disgusting establishment, upon calling them to address our concerns regarding the multiple reviews of RATS in the rooms the manager proceeded to give no solution, dismiss our concerns other than to say they will try and make the stay as "comfortable as possible" .... who is comfortable sleeping with rats?? Terrible service. Even though our reservation for next week is non refundable ( we booked before those reviews came out the following week) we will NOT be staying here. This is not a get what you pay for type of place ... I have stayed in motels better than this let alone a HOTEL.

Terrible experience! i found a mouse in my room (completely unacceptable!). When asked to be changed to a different room they told me it was fully booked so that i can either stay in my room or book a different hotel (at 10 pm!!!). I WON'T recommend this hotel to ANYONE! Because i was there during a weekend, the manager was not there and they took 3 days to provide a refund! i had to go twice in person to the hotel to ask for the refund. The staff was completely useless!

Maybe it's because I read all the reviews and had low expectations, but I was very impressed with every aspect of our stay at Hotel Chrome. Our room was spotless, with amenities like a fridge, coffee maker, TV and massive sofa bed (ready and waiting as requested) that I haven't seen at nicer places. Sure, the towels are thin and housekeeping only comes every three days, but for the money and location it was fantastic.

Be careful when you book this hotel. They charge more than on Expedia and ask for a larger deposit, twice more. There will be no parking as well, you have to find your own. The front desk staff was extremely rude, disrespectful, made no effort to be helpful. Attempted to extract twice the deposit amount, even after showing the Expedia contract, he refused to look at it. Would not share his name and said there is no Manager available to talk to. At some point I felt threatened that he will hit me. This hotel need to spend some money on training their staff, he had no idea what Hospitality business is. Very disappointing and disgusting. Stay away from this place if you do not wish to spoil your vacation.

One elevator was permanently out of service and the other randomly stopped working. 4pm check-in made for a very busy lobby which added to the staff's rudeness. Asked for a cot at check-in and one was promised. Heading out for the evening no staff were at the front desk to follow-up on the still missing cot. Returning to the room after the evening out, the elevators were both out of service and after climbing the stairs to our room we found no cot. The phone in the room was broken so we couldn't call down to have the cot brought up. Back down to the lobby, by now an elevator was working, so we though. One of our group was trapped in the elevator, with the cott for 20 minutes. Maybe by 1:30am we were all in the room, with the cot, able to go to sleep.

The hotel is in a fantastic location but still gets low rating because if everything else , however the money you pay is simply for location and that is where it ends. The room was not properly cleaned and you could smell the dust in the room in some areas. The air conditioning was freezing the first day and then was boiling hot the rest of the time I was there. The carpet felt grimy . Not even a fridge. So if your a person that travels with medication that needs to stay cold forget it. For the price and service you would be better off buying a tent and sleeping next to the river.

Very "budget" hotel, filled with students and younger crowd. Conveniently located 2 blocks from the subway and within walking distance to the old town and Mont Royal. (and the 747 to go to/from the airport stops right in front of the hotel!). Friendly staff. The hotel in itself is a bit old, and feels a bit rundown (you can tell it had better days), but it was pretty cheap, especially considering the location. It was comfortable and had everything you need. Recommended if you're just passing by. Note: you can leave your luggages at the reception, but they charge you $4 per suitcase.

I'm not one to make posts complaining about bad service, however the service I received over the last couple days at Hotel Chrome in Montreal was horrendous. Myself and my friend checked in on Thursday evening and were welcomed into the room by the smell of sewage and a hole in the wall. Upon calling the front desk, we were told that since we "used the washroom" in the room, we were not allowed to have a new room. That is, until I went down to reception after being shocked by a lamp with a mangled plugin, found what looked to be food on the wall, and a large stain on the mattress that appears to be blood? The staff informed me that we could have a new room, but couldn't speak to the manager about a refund on the room until the morning at 9am. At this point, we would have accepted a refund and left to find another hotel, since there was nothing there that kept us wanting to stay. In the morning, at 9am sharp, I went down to speak to the manager. We were told that she was "doing something important" and to take a seat for a moment. We waited in the reception area for AN HOUR before someone came out to speak to us. The manager informed us that even if we left, she would only refund us for one night. I told her that the new room was even falling apart. The towel rack was falling off the wall, there were holes in the sheets, the lamp would not stay on because there was a problem with the outlet, and there were stains in the drawers. Definitely not somewhere I had expected to pay $175 a night to stay. She told me that she would get back to me on getting refunded the second night. Half an hour later, we had a knock on the door and the manager came in to inspect our new room. After seeing everything that was wrong, she left, and came back again a half an hour later again. She informed us that we would only get a refund on one night because "the outlet in the first room actually doesn't shock you, it only has a little spark".

I wish I could give less than one star. This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Not only did they make us check in at 4pm, they charged us for the bags we wanted to keep in the storage room. Then our first room the door didn’t close. The rooms that weren’t checked into were left OPEN. This is a SERIOUS safety hazard. Then our second room had MOLD. Yes mold. When I went to the receptionist, she was so rude and acted confused as to why we wanted to switch rooms. She didn’t believe us so she went to the room with us even though we showed her pictures of the mold. She then got mad at us for sitting on the beds even though there was MOLD on the ceiling. We finally got to our room which was still dirty as the trash was left full. I’ve never been so disappointed with such disrespectful service. I’m surprised this hotel is still running

Booked and paid for a room and my autistic nephew was turned away after 11 pm after he had been on a nine hour bus ride from NB. I had to find a hotel late at night for him. They then refused to refund me. The booking was then cancelled but not 30 percent only after I called during week and sent emails. The desk clerk did not give him proper wifi to reach me and would not let him stay in lobby to messenger me. The desk clerk lied and said it was city bylaws due to covid and I checked. There was no rule that hotel lobbies were not to have people in them. My nephew walked to another hotel he had stayed in before with four baggage items and they let him contact me. By then it was close to midnight. When I called this hotel refused to let him stay eventhough I offered my visa as deposit. I had paid for the room ahead to make it easier. He claimed people had done 1000s of damage so he could only take 200 in cash or my card being there. When I said I could put money on my nephews debit so he could pay the 200 he said they were now full and he then hung up. My nephew is First Nations so I could not help wonder if this was his reason for not providing a room to a disabled man at night.

Stayed here while we were in Montreal. Overall it was nice. Nice location. Near to all the attractions and downtown. Room was good with all the amenities such as AC/Heater, TV and Coffee Machine. Bathroom was clean and they also provided all the toiletries. Customer Service can be improved. Less staff available in night and early morning. If you request something, they asked you to pick it up from the reception which is not feasible sometimes. Otherwise everything was up to the mark.

BEWARE: They stole a bunch of money from me. Do not give them your credit card. Strongly do not recommend. When I checked out, they charged me $390 for 1 night. We were barely in the room and left on time with no damage. The 16-year-old behind the counter couldn't give me a reason why. I was rushing to get to a meeting on time so I didn't have time to speak to a manager. I've tried calling but no one gets back to me. The room was run down and the iron didn't work but it would've been worth the price. However, instead of saving, they stole from me. For the amount they stole, I could've stayed at some of the fanciest hotels in Montreal and then some. Now I'm back home in a different country and it seems I can do nothing about my stolen money. Go anywhere but here.

Stayed here over the July long weekend, location was great right near tons of restaurants and not to far from old Montreal. The rooms were in need of and update and the hallways had a bit of a strange smell (not sure if its from the pets that are allowed?). The rooms were clean just a bit small and the bathrooms were okay but some rust in the showers. Some of the items in the room worked and some did not but it's was alright for the cost. I probably wouldn't stay here again but I new for the money it was fair.

Very displeased with this hotel. First room we got was extremely filthy. There was a huge mold spot on the ceiling, dust wasn't cleaned from the windows at all, and there was some old dust and dirt next to the bed. It was the most unclean room that I have ever had in any hotel! The receptionist was really kind and found us another room pretty quickly. She even checked the new room first, to make sure it is clean, which we really appreciated. The new room didn't have any visible mold and the dust was cleaned this time. However, the new room was missing the refrigerator, which was a problem as it was 30+ degrees Celsius in Montreal during our stay and we couldn't cool the water; receptionist told us they don't have any spare refrigerator nor another room with the refrigerator. Another issue was that couple of electric outlets in the room were not working, including the one in the bathroom, so we couldn't use hairdryer in the bathroom. It was also strange that none of the windows could be opened, so you cannot let the fresh air in, and the AC unit was so old that it was pushing the musty smell in all the time. It is very unprofessional from the management and the owners to allow the hotel to be in such a bad shape. It is also absolutely unacceptable to let guests in any room that has mold, dust, or issues with electric outlets. Overall, it was quite unpleasant experience staying in this hotel, and I will definitely not stay here again. I highly recommend skipping this hotel when booking a stay in Montreal, even though the location is really amazing. Actually, the location is probably the only positive part.

I mean, you get what you pay for. It is affordable compared to other hotels in the area and really central in location, so there are some trade offs for that. The rooms definitely would benefit from some TLC, as you can see in my pictures lots of the stuff was rusty/broken/dirty. But I can also say staff were really accommodating and allowed me to leave my suitcase there after check out and before I took my train out of Montréal :) So if you're used to nice hotels this is not the one for you... If you just need a place to crash, then this can be a good option!

Positive: the hotel has a great location. The staff was friendly and efficient for checking in and out. Negative: My room needed a serious upgrade. The lights in the entrance of the room didn't work. There were two really old air conditioners. The one in the bedroom didn't work. The one in the lounge are barely cooled. It was so noisy that I had to turn it off to sleep. There was a green humidity stain in the bathtub, the shower faucet was kind of broken, and the bathtub was a bit clogged. Also, there was a plastic fork left in the window that was not cleaned by the staff. The WiFi could not be used for streaming videos. The staff told us that the hotel was closed during the pandemic and that they will be fixing all these issues eventually. We stayed one night.

I wish i could give 0 stars. Hotel calls 8 pm and said there is noise. Due to some noise they kept my 400 dollars security deposit. I called manager and she refused to provide any documentation and policy of keeping the security deposit for noise and she hung up the phone. Worst hotel in montreal. Rude staff and service. Dont waste your money.

hotel a deconseille infecte we change room because the dairy very dirty. the cleaning is done that every three days we just change the towels the floor and bathroom very dirty. The only positive point the location and staff has stroke for $20 more you have better. IF you want to have your If you want to keep your luggage is 4$ per suitcase never seen elsewhere.3 days is enough to visit montreal especially in winter . for choping it’s better New York

The rooms were decent, but cleanliness could have been better. The hotel's proximity to the metro and China town was convenient, making it a great location for exploring the city. However, the lifts were old, and the rooms tended to be a bit humid. Overall, it was an okay experience.

I was expecting this hotel to be on the lower-end because of the price, but when I actually stayed the night, it was way worse than I expected. I saw a mouse trap in my room, and that was the ultimate red flag. I decided to ignore it. After some time, I was eating and then I saw a rat moving so quickly and hiding under the bed. I was mortified. When confronting the people at the desk, they told me that a guest had a pet mouse and it escaped, like do you really expect anyone to believe that? They gave me a presidential suite, but the lights were half working and the shower didn't work. Never again, I'd rather sleep in a car.

Decent hotel that is perfect to walking to Old Port. Upon arrival I needed to personally request new sheets and towels. Didn't appear as though the room was cleaned after the last occupant. Pros: cheap, has a bed, shower and working AC Cons: the hotel was not cleaned before my arrival, nor during my 3 day stay. Would not recommend for a family or individuals overly concerned with cleanliness

Do not stay here! I don’t know how the hotel can get away with poor cleanliness standards. Rooms were disgusting. Not cleaned or maintained well. We saw a rat in the corridors. We were charged for storing our luggage which we never told about when handing in the luggage and then got charged on our credit cards. The reception were reluctant to give two additional towels despite us only having two towels in a four person hotel room.

A bit worn down, but well worth the money. Our room was clean and warm. Heater sounded like a jet turbine - turned it off the second night - didn't need it. Check in, check out were smooth and easy. We came late and found no parking in the hotel, but John suggested to park on the street - it's free before 9am, and come around 8am next day to get spot in the underground parking, which we did - thanks John! Overall great stay, close to everything we wanted to visit.

Basic hotel, clean sheets, comforter which probably hasn't been cleaned between guests. A bed for a reasonable price located directly downtown.Hotel is very nice but they don't inform you on parking. Directly in front of the hotel there is parking. Unfortunately for myself and 4 other guests, that I noticed as I was checking out, that it had no parking from 6-10. 300$ tickets all around and the hotel could have given non locals a warning of this situation. Clearly it happens often considering how I was able to see 4 others with tickets coming from the hotel

The only good thing I can say about this place is the location. Right in the city and close to everything. The photos of the rooms online are a scam, and they are much more dated and dirtier. When we arrived, our AC and phone were broken, but the staff did help us right away fortunately. It smelled horrendous everywhere, and there were several stains on our sheets and curtains. There was mold on the ceiling, and when we requested a room change due to the mold the receptionist refused and said that “we should have asked in the morning so housekeeping could come.” However housekeeping never came to clean our room during our stay. Ultimately we decided to leave the hotel early because we couldn’t stand being in there.

Mice must have gotten bigger. There was a rat in the room. I was with a group of people and the hotel ran out of rooms to change people. Beside the rat there was musty smell, mold, spots on sheets, and marijuana smells in some rooms. The breakfast was a disaster, barely warm coffee and hot water, and the toaster didn’t even work. Stay clear of this hotel.

I stayed here during a recent visit to Montreal. Extremely terrible experience and a hotel that I definitely wouldn’t recommend. Firstly, the customer service from every single member of staff especially a young medium height woman with brunette hair was beyond horrendous. She normally works in the evenings and she was inpatient and rude. She had no manners, didn’t know how to talk to customers, which at one time I heard her say “shut up” to a customer who was complaining about his room. She was not considerate when her card machine wouldn’t work when I went to pay for my room deposit and wouldn’t let me check in until I cashed out $200 from the cash machine and blamed my cards, which work everywhere. She failed basic customer service skills such as smiling and welcoming customers but instead looked grumpy and angry. I would really considerate a shake up of staff as the ones that work there have no idea. On a second visit, one young lad behind the desk said I couldn't pay in cash? However, previously cash was accepted? The job requires no training obviously. Secondly, a secret hidden fee of $4 was included if you needed to store luggage. This was never mentioned before and I strongly believe the staff pocket this money. Third, the rooms are old, telephone in the room looked ancient, bed was dirty and dusty. Fourth, when receiving your deposit back the staff need to phone a colleague to check the room. It seems like an outdated way of checking and I would strongly recommend paying deposit in cash as i’m sure there’s hidden fees that will charge your credit card. I couldn’t wait to leave as any sort of ‘work’ seemed like a huge proplem for the staff as they are lazy. I WOULD STRONGLY AVOID THIS HOTEL!!!!!!

Stayed 3 days. There was never room service. Some lights in the bathroom were busted. The carped floor is full of stains. Bathroom floor is stained too. Asked for a pillow and gave me one with no cover. Very limited parking spots, they might ask you to pay for parking two blocks away. It’s a low-quality hotel but the location is great for the price.

THIS HOTEL NEEDS A LOT OF LOVE AND MORE DISCIPLINE IN ITS MAINTENANCE. FOR THE PRICES THEY CHARGE, THEY SHOULD HAVE THE MEANS TO MAKE THESE MUCH-NEEDED IMPROVEMENTS. THE BAD EXPERIENCES I HAD ARE JUST UNACCEPTABLE. The first room I was given didn't have a towel bar to hang them. I had not yet unpacked so I asked for another room that had it but when I had already unpacked and I was putting drinks inside the bridge I saw there was a HUGE block of ice. I decided to tolerate it as I had already unpacked and didn't want to repack again to ask for another room. I decided to think to myself "I can live with this for the rest of my stay". Then on the 3rd night, I saw a mouse walking out from below my bed. I couldn't take a picture of it but I decided that it was enough so I went go again to reception to ask for another room. Only God knows what kind of diseases was that pest carrying and usually when you see one mouse there are a lot more, they are never alone. So I was again repacking my suitcases at midnight. That was the 2nd time I packed in 5 days. When I had already unpacked in that 3rd room (close to 1 a.m.), I decided to watch a little bit of TV before falling asleep, and surprise surprise, the Cable TV system was not working in that room. I had had enough so I didn't even bother asking anything additional to the hotel staff because I was already tired of all this. I just streamed movies on my laptop for the next 2 days of my stay.

I called to ask for two more towels. Her response was: you gonna have to come get them. Because I can't right now. - I said I could wait, she said : ok. It's gonna be some time. - I said, how much time? She said - I don't know. 👌 amazed by the customer service. but at least the room was clean and nice enough and the wifi works well.

This hotel service was a nightmare and I WOULD NOT EVEN DO NOT EVEN RECOMMAND IT TO WORST ENEMY. So the room was filthy and not even clean. Beds were full of hair. When we requested for it to be cleaned, The receptionist yelled "I CANNOT DO ANYTHINF FOR YOU NOW, I AM AN ACCOUNTANT AND I HAVE TO WORK AS A RECEPTIONIST!!!" I was shocked. We humbly requested can we please atleasy get some clean bedsheets so we can change it ourselves? He angrily walked away and brought some bedding and walked away. Attached are the bed full of hair. Room 603! PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL. RUDE MANAGER, FRONT DESK AND DIRTY ROOMS.

Rooms are cheap in price and quality. The room service guy (forgot to ask his name) was superb and humble person. I recommend this hotel if you are going to book this for one night stay only.

  • 4/5 Josh C. 1 year ago on Google
It was okay. I'd say adequate for the price, but my sister paid and I don't know how much. One thing I didn't like was that it was sort of low tech with no smart T.V.s so no streaming; also there was no microwave, there was internet however and the staff was pleasant.

  • 1/5 ZhuZhu C. 1 year ago on Google
This place was awful. Our room was full of checked when we checked in, and none of the towels, bedding, sheets, or pillows had been changed. They may have been under staffed, but we requested service over the span of two days, and nothing happened. The kid at the front desk told us he "could do nothing," while he could've just come empty our overflowing trash himself. Finally, on the THIRD day, our room was cleaned. There was also no gym, trashy Wi-Fi, and the elevators are creepy. The cleaning ladies were nice but they all had long, long lists of rooms to clean, which probably meant that the hotel was overworking them. If I could give negative stars for room maintenance and front desk service, I would.

NO JUST NO! AVOID THIS HOTEL AT ALL COSTS!! First when we arrived, the receptionist had an attitude with us for no reason, customer service is really poor. The hotel is just old and not well maintained. Our room had a whole in the wall, ac didn’t work and made a loud noise. Since we booked for 3 nights, we were expecting housekeeping and they never did until we asked, and their reason for no cleaning was covid (?). Then, when we got our room “cleaned” THEY HAD THE AUDACITY TO PUT THE DUST AND TRANSH UNDER THE BEDS. The only good thing about this hotel is the location, breakfast is not even included. Terrible experience!

You get what you pay for with this hotel. Cheapest one out there in Montreal but comes with its share of caveats. For instance, there are only 2 elevators and one wasn't working. The corridor I was staying in (8th floor) was dark, dingy without lights and there's a heavy musky smell when you enter your room. Honestly I didn't mind it given I was only staying a couple of nights and this offered me a convenient location at a great price. The room itself was actually pretty spacious.

Don't forget to use ʜᴏᴛᴇʟʙoʟʟʏ.ᴄᴏm when booking a room. This site will compare hundreds of booking websites and normally will have prices much cheaper than others! Thank me later on! This hotel is one of the best in the area. I have been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you for sure will love it I'm sure! Seham was so helpful and took care of all our needs during my wife and I 3 day stay at Hotel Chrome. She was very kind and professional.

The front desk said the microwave was not available. There was not way to re heat food in the hotel. There was one lady at the front desk new hire she was very helpful with letting us using the restroom while we were waiting to leave the hotel at the lobby. The room and the stay was okay close to the attractions in Montreal. But this hotel really needs to provide a microwave for customers that's pretty basic. Thanks

There is no parking for hotel guests on the property. We had to park a couple blocks away but that wasn't too bad. Was pleasantly surprised by the size of the deluxe queen room. While I do understand that this is a budget hotel, facilities ought to be in proper working order, and the air conditioning was barely working. In the middle of a heat advisory it was very uncomfortable. Free wifi but very spotty connectivity. Room was clean and beds/pillows were comfy. I would stay here again if I couldn't find any other place. Can't beat the location, within easy walking distance of Chinatown, the Village, downtown and Old Montreal.

If you're prepared to take care of yourself with very little help from staff, you'll have a pleasant stay. Come early. Leave early. Pray you don't need anything. The room was ok. Good for the price. But you get what you pay for.

  • 2/5 Steph P. 8 months ago on Google
Customer service (if you want call it that) was horrible & basically NIL. When the person at guest services stays on her cell phone instead of tending to her hotel guests. The "Parking Available" is $33.00 underground or $11.00 a block and a half away. The onsite restaurant says " Closed for renovations" however, we noticed no renovations have been not ate being done. Location is decent.

  • 1/5 Liam L. 1 year ago on Google
Chrome attempted to book other patrons in to our room. Deactivated our keys so we had no access to our stuff even if we were to leave. Also making a complicated situation when being beckoned to the front desk, where employees were overtly aggressive, knowing your now locked out of your own room. Stayed multiple nights with no services whatsoever. Had to seek out clean towels which was viewed as a nuisance by staff. Wanted to have a nice experience, beds are beds, bathrooms are clean, rooms are cramped but not overtly, yet I would never recommend this establishment unless I didn’t like the person. There’s hundreds of hotels in Montreal, don’t make the mistake of choosing this one.

This hotel certainly isn’t fancy. It’s a bit run down and could do with some renovations. Hallways are a bit smelly. Wallpaper is old and peeling, dead mosquitoes stains on the walls etc. Location is good. And the price is commensurate with what you get I suppose. The king size bed is comfortable. It’s a pity you can’t open any windows! The AC works ok, but could also do with a cleaning.

This hotel has RATS!! And after bringing up the concern to the manager and staff, they dismissed us and told us to “have a nice day.” We had no choice but to call the house inspection board on them. Definitely do not waste your money !!!

This was the first time I had seen a hotel as dirty and filthy as this. They charged me high dollars and did minimal service. The cleaning is awful; the carpet is filthy, and the price is overly done. I don't recommend it at all. The front desk service lacks everything about hospitality and customer service—such a terrible place.

  • 1/5 Allegra S. 9 months ago on Google
The fridge and lock were both broken and there were stains everywhere. When we asked to be moved to a room with a functioning lock and fridge, the hotel staff refused, telling us that the hotel was fully booked. When the woman in the next room started screaming about the rat in her room, we asked to check out early after one night. They still charged us for the full visit and have refused to even discuss a refund for the night we did not stay. DO NOT BOOK HERE. It's disgusting.

I have stayed here on more than one occasion and while previous times were good, this last stay left a lot to be desired. The latest stay, it was noticeable that they were understaffed. Some issues included: - lines at the front desk at many times if the day - no daily room cleaning - general room uncleanliness after check-in In terms of the room, cleanliness was just the bare minimum of acceptable because the room was not well vacuumed, various things were unplugged, things were slightly out of place and the bathroom smelled like wet towels that were left there for awhile before being taken away. For a mid-level hotel, the price is decent considering that you are in the heart of downtown/centre-ville. There are not a lot of good extra amenities here. This is the kind of hotel where you just put your belongings in and sleep while spending the rest of your time enjoying the city.

The staff was nice, but if you're from the states it is worth it to spend some extra money and go to a more well known chain of hotels. You can get what you'd get in the states for 150-200 a night for about 90 USD. My experience is based on checking out of chrome and into the best Western down the street. It is definitely much higher quality than best Western in the states.

in the evening shift is not helpful at all. I had a reservation non refundable and my credit card wasn't working to hold their 200 dollar fee and she was willing to leave me homeless and keep my room when she had the option to offer the use of a Visa Debit. She was very rude and careless. She has short dark hair, too bad I couldn't get her name, she was there at 7pm on Tuesday Nov 9th. She's totally in the wrong industry to work. The guy in the morning was very nice and helpful. Room was a wet in the entrance and had a bad smell but wasn't so bad. Good size room. Bathroom newly renovated. It was OK for one night

The location is good: you can walk to the port in about 15 minutes and there are lots of restaurants, bars etc on the way. It’s right next to China town. The airport bus stops right outside. The rooms are OK. They could be a little cleaner/nicer if they were modernised. We didn’t eat any meals here.

If I could give 0 stars, I would. My father booked a room in this hotel, he made a mistake and didn’t book the right dates. Impossible to have a refund, impossible to modify the booking AND the cancellation fees are higher than the room itself. Complete nonsense. When we asked to talk to a manager, nobody is ever available. When we called back they gave us another phone number in order to join the "director" nobody ever answers to this phone. No e-mail returns, no call-backs, we even tried Messenger! Seeing the other reviews here, it is certainly not a place that I would stay. They stole money from us and we won’t be staying ever at this establishment.

The location is great and it's got parking for $23 a night. The lobby itself was nice. The underground parking had steep stairs so I'd recommend getting your luggage out of the car before you park so you don't have to carry it up. The hotel room was less than ideal. The sheets were dirty and we were missing towels. There was a sign that said to ask for linen in the hallway. So we did. Shower didn't drain well either so it flooded while showering. The mini fridge not only was super mini but only had one rack that you couldn't move down so we couldn't put our takeout properly in the fridge. Wasn't able to get a good night's sleep, tossed and turned all 3 nights sadly. But at least the hotel was quiet at night because of the location all you would hear was maybe cars driving.
