The most impressive cocktail ever made in a rose-gold pineapple (ps it’s not on the menu)! This place is an absolute hidden gem. Focusing primarily on rum these people know their stuff! It’s low-key, a tight and intimate space with a funky Cuban-theme. Highly recommend!!

Had a unique experience in the smallest pub in Canada (that’s inside, they have lots of place outside). Bartenders here really made their work as art. From making the cocktails to entertaining conversation. They have their own twist on cocktails that are based on rum, but you can order off the menu.

My friends and I had an excellent experience at this little bar. We were visiting from out of town and it was our second time there. Stephen was the bartender who served us and he was wonderful and accommodating. We asked if we could request some custom drinks and he gladly obliged and he made us some delicious drinks. I’d definitely visit this bar again every time I visit Montreal.

This place is amazing! I stayed for hours trying new drinks, and had just a great time overall. Every drink I had was really well made and presented, the people who work here take great pride in what they do!

We went on the first day open after the winter and we were ecstatic to visit. The smallest bar you will visit in Montreal and we can confirm this lol. The vibes transport you to Cuba. I never been to Cuba but I hope it’s like this hahahaha. On a serious note the drinks (mojito and el presidente) were great! We wanted to try the Cuban sandwich but we ran out of time but will definitely be back to try it! The bartender is very friendly and explained the decor which includes pineapples! According to the bartender pineapples are the symbol of welcome, which we loved!! They also have a a colibrí/hummingbird decor which is the smallest bird. You have to love all the details 🥰🥰🥰🥰

Taking the title Canada's smallest bar   @elpequenobarmtl definitely delivers on its accurate name. A very intimate setting where you will most definitely make freinds as no conversation is private in the 9 seat, rhum focused bar. It has been voted (we're not sure by who) #7 @canadasbest100 and #29 @50bestbars in North America. But, honestly...we're not very sure why. We did enjoy our drink and experience meeting mostly tourists there. However, the cocktails we had were nothing spectacular. Surely not worthy of those rankings. Paired with a bartender with a less than amicable attitude (probably due to the fact that there can really only be one, very stressed, employee at a time) we felt more like we were in a waiting room for @thecoldroommtl with which it shares a stairwell. (As were all the people we talked to)

Stopped in here for quick drink. It’s obviously a very small place, but we were able to grab a couple seats at the bar. The cocktails were great. The bartender was super friendly and even gave us a few suggestions for places to visit in Montréal. Highly recommend!

El Pequeño is a unique and charming spot for a great cocktail and better conversation. The decor looks like you teleported to Cuba and the bartender Stephen was so eager to offer great places to visit and eat during our time in Montreal. There is a beautiful photo that I really admired and he even offered to put me in contact with the photographer to see if I can have a print made for myself. Stop here, have a drink or five, enjoy the ambiance, the conversation, the vibe. You won’t be disappointed.

Best rum bar in the city. Enjoyed a daiquiri, a Hemingway daiquiri, a jungle bird, and a mai tai. Every drink was well crafters by an expert bartender, who made sure we enjoyed each drink he made for us. He even made a mocktail for my wife using lapsang syrup to add an extra dimension to it. Highly recommended, keep in mind the place is absolutely tiny.

Without a doubt, one of the best bars I have ever been to! Our bartender Nick was attentive, creative, informative, and knew exactly what to make for me and my friend based on our preferences. The mojitos are delicious too! Love the ambiance of the small and intimate space.

A great, out of the way micro bar. Capacity of 9. Super cool, based on a Cuban theme, stocked with many rums and various other alcohols. Staff super friendly and knowledgeable. In the heart of old Montreal, little difficult to find which is the mystique of this gem. Will revisit. Check it out!.

Searching for something to quench your thirst? Look no further. Looking for something to fill your hungry stomach? Well, you can look further, but I would suggest a 2 for 1. One of the best mixed drinks and cocktail bar you’ll find in eastern Canada, they also provide delicious cubano sandwiches to accompany your drinks. Our service was amazing, with Nick providing great humour, service, and calves to be desired. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and experience here and would highly recommend this place.

This review is far too late, but we were here last September. Gaspard is seriously the best bartender I've ever met. If Gaspard is still at El Pequeño, he deserves a big raise!

The bartender said he makes great Rum based cocktails. And he surely does. Loved the drink he made. This is nice small corner bar. Hardly any place to sit. That is what makes this place so wonderful.

The mixologist’s creative and delicious cocktails steal the spotlight. The intimate, cozy setting adds to the charm, creating good vibes all around. We all really enjoyed it!

Great small rum bar, somewhat connected to the Cold Room. Cozy, intimate atmosphere. Best rum selection we've seen in Montreal. Great rum cocktails, and the bartender can also improvise off-menu. We had amazing chats with him about different rums and he's super knowledgeable.

A tiny bar located right next to The Coldroom & across from Bar Bisou Bisou, El Pequeño bar stands out from its sister bars. Like it's name, its very small, seats less than 10 people and little standing room. But rather than detracting, it adds to the intimacy of the bar and a close knit vibe. The cocktails are all Cuban twists on rum based classics like the daiquiri and Pina Colada. I thoroughly enjoyed the drinks!

I forgot that I had been here before. I tiny hidden gem with classic cocktails and skilled bartenders that reminds me of my home city (Miami), with its Cuban music & vibe.

We loved this little Cuban inspired cocktail bar! It really is a tiny place but the drinks are great and the service and atmosphere even better. We didn’t eat here, not even sure if they serve food. We would love to have the chance to return one day!

There's no wine and only one kind of beer, but this allows the customer to try their exclusive and delicious drinks. Prime spot, friendly staff and amazing vibes downtown old Montreal.

Came here after we went to the Cold Room… let me tell you, it’s better! Our bartender Gaspar was next level. He took the time to find out what we liked and recommended drinks - we didn’t even need the menu. He also took the time to write down recommendations of other places he thought we’d like, which were awesome! The drinks AND the Cuban sandwich were perfect. We went back the next night and we will be back next time we’re in Montreal. Thanks Gaspar!!

Wonderful place. Amazing drinks. Bartender was friendly and helpful and offered wonderful conversation and helpful tips for navigating the city. Highly recommend the Hummingbird cocktail. Definitely worth a stop when in Montreal.

Honestly my favourite place in town! Every night there is a warm and special experience awaiting you. The drinks are amazingly crafted with love. My favourite way to experience it is to go alone to the bar and enjoy the random encounter of people passing through.

My favourite experience of our trip. A cool tiny bar where you get intimate service. The bartender made excellent drinks and we had the best time chatting. It’s a one of a kind experience and we will recommend it to everyone we know and we will come back again!

Come here for the best Mojito! Plus, the decor is super cute and makes you feel in La Habana. The only thing to make it more authentic would definitely be some Cuban salsa on the background!

Great cocktails. Order off menu if the younger guy bartender is working. Super personable and really nice. Cool spot.

Great cocktails. Best mojitos in Montreal. Really good selection of authentic cuban rum and drinks. Upstairs outdoor seating and downstairs close, intimate, low light, and good music bar. Favourite drink was the Miami vice it gives a great citrus and rum kick to the classic piña colada by combining it with a strawberry daiquiri.

I was here a few weeks ago. The drinks were first class, and the staff were super friendly. Really enjoyed the espresso martini.

Small little gem for a quick drink or multiple! Great Terrence, staff, and drinks. Came twice on our 4 day trip for day drinks.

Small selection of drinks and food, however there isn’t a need to have a big selection given what they have is quite excellent! The servers and bartenders were very knowledgeable in helping us ensure we got the drinks we desired. Check this place out!

Attention is bad, service is slow and drinks don’t have alcohol - just pure decoration. It’s Old Montreal, any place could be better than El Lento Bar.

Fantastic tiny bar with well-made cocktails and some food options. The bartender there made us some great cocktails, including off-the menu ones and was great to chat with. There is also a surprise speakeasy style bar downstairs. Just press the doorbell right outside the bar.
