This airport charge the most tax and fee but they can’t fix a broken elevator. Some sections of the airport has no light, almost look like a ghost town. When your looking for help or direction, people are not friendly. They pretend your from another world. 1 star is already being nice. I would not recommend, try to avoid this airport.

Lots of walking for international arrivals and departures... especially flying back to the US, you seem to go through a maze and walk a mile just to end up essentially back where you were. They still have pay phones... if you have time, I'd eat before going back through security, more dining options before security.

On August 28th, 2021, the Montreal-Pierre Elliot Trudeau airport authorities and Qatar Airways created one of the most disorganized and chaotic scenarios. Flight QR 764 from Montreal to Doha was originally scheduled to depart at 21:15 and then delayed due to 22:15. The announcement was made quietly and without proper guidance for next steps roughly around 22:30. The next steps were to be processed back via customs (relatively quick line), pick up our baggage (which was delayed due to improper loading by staff), and then to have arrangements made for our hotel stay in Montreal. What should have taken about 1 hour took 6 hours. The hotel provisions were being handled by 1 lone staff with all others running around with no clue what to do. There were no chairs for the elderly or those who needed assistance, there were no blankets or food provided for the passengers waiting and the most frustrating thing was the LACK OF URGENCY in any of these ground staff. For them its just work and they proceeded at this leisurely pace while for many of us this was yet another grueling day having been awake from the early hours of the day. We line up to get a hotel voucher and then line up to get the hotel booked and then line up to get to the hotel shuttle. In some cases the line-ups didn't matter and lists with random passengers were being generated. A fairly simple and straightforward process somehow turned into a nightmare scenario. Where are the managers? Where is the extra help? Where is the customer service? Where is the bloody communication???? Complete and utter nonsense. Angering beyond expression. Our flight was scheduled at 21:15. I was processed and arrived in my hotel room at 04:30. 7.5 hours. A workday. Let that sink in. These people don't take their jobs seriously and treat passengers as expendables. No one cares. I have seen countries like Japan work hard to make sure the passengers are getting taken care of. I'm not speaking of First or Business class. I mean the passenger in general. The entire experience has left a very bitter taste in my mouth. I will submit this information to media and we'll see if that creates any change.

This was the worst airport I've ever encountered and I would not recommend it to my worst enemy. First our flight through air Canada was cancelled suddenly due to crew shortages after waiting multiple hours of delays. We were told to leave through customs, get our bags and receive vouchers for hotel, taxi, and food. Finding our baggage was utter chaos. Baggage was scattered everywhere. Eventually we found our bags on a random gate that did not have our flight listed. Air Canada gets a -10 star review for how poor the service was. Only 40$ CAD and 1 hotel night for almost 48 hour layover. Any good review you see here has to be an AI generated fake review. Avoid Montreal airport at all costs.

Traveled several times through Pierre Elliot Trudeau Airport and it has always been a pleasant experience.. the security and Air Canada staff here is highly professional and going through this Airport is a stress free, compared to other I've traveled through. 5/5 for staff at oversized, they were excellent, I had an aerosol which they asked me to remove and they did so without being intimidating and overbearing. They should get a raise & bonus for doing an excellent job! (Dec 6, 2021 around 1 pm) 5/5 for quick access, short distance between entrance and departure lounge.. very well designed Airport. Lots of big windows for plane spotting.

I’ve Traveled the World over 100 countries for Canada is airport was a Big Disappointment. It was not very easy to navigate. The directions signs are confusing. Not easy to Find my Airline Porter, Not easy to find Restrooms, Not many people to help. So I asked airline Employees & Flight Crew for Help. The Flight crew were very helpful in helping. Even another Passenger asked me for help which I said Sorry I’m lost as well. I don’t know we’re you would get your flight to London as It wasn’t marked well. The baggage claim. Was a zoo, worst then Disneyland. There were People everywhere All the luggage came in sat the same time from five different airlines on the same belt. There were so many people down there looking at 1:30 in the morning also it smelled because people have been flying forever to get to Canada. A Nightmare

Oh how wish I could say this airport was a great one. It wasnt until I got to visit other airports in other major cities did I realize just how bag ours is. Disorganization is the best way to describe it. Dont plan anything after you arrive, I can promise you will be late. At YUL airport you can always count on waiting hours for your luggage. Rarely very clean, always mediocre service at best and a lot of waiting. Far below the status of a major canadian city.

Once the primary airport of entry into Canada, today it serves as Montreal's international connection to the world. Consists of one long terminal that is separated into Domestic and International sections. Both contain businesses that can serve traveller's. Restaurants require proofvof vaccine. There is transit connections by bus to downtown Montreal and there are shuttles to local hotels. Some hotels are an easy walking distance.

Customer Service: 5 ⭐ | Mobility Accessibility: 3.5 ⭐ | Bilingual Support System: 4 ⭐ | Hygiene: 5 ⭐ The airport is located in the south corner of Montreal city. The staff members of the airport authority are kind and supportive to non-french speaking travellers. The airport washroom set up caught my special attention. They are advanced to keep up the hygiene level throughout the airport premise. A step up table was installed in front of the sink area so the kids and elderly people could make it to the height of the sink. The staff members were guiding in both French and English to passengers at the arrival gate to get their tickets. The shuttle ride from airport to city center through 747 was smooth except that the stations were pronounced in the bus were in French only. So one has to keep the Google map on and track the next station. Tips: 24 hrs pass cost $11. Regular one way zone wise ticket cost $ 2.75. Subway network and service was good within the city area.

It’s a nice and clean airport. I used this airport multiple times for transit only. Pro Tip: if you are connecting from local to international flights, you need to go through a gate with green lights. Now once you cross this gate you can not go back. And you only have Tim Hortons at local side. I would say, if you have long lay over and want to enjoy Tim Hortons, stay at local side until few hours before your flight.

The airport is okay.. no wow factor. It is clean and has good signs to guide you. The food is very expensive and there are not too many choices in the international section. More than half the restaurants were closed when I went. I had to spend about 6 hours since my flight was delayed. It got extremely boring.

Most horrible place to get your flight connected from…..i have travelled dozens of times to and from toronto airport on PR and foreign passports, immigration never asked me about where and why i went abroad, where i lived etc…..they only ask about number of days i was out of canada (because of covid etc)…..this time i was traveling on Canadian passport and montreal immigration officer asked me “why you went to qatar? Where did you live in qatar? Did you go anywhere else? Are you sure???” I went to qatar and stayed there for 10 days, what did he mean by “are you sure you stayed in Qatar for all 10 days?” Like seriously??? What bothered me most was his rude tone, i was travelling with two small kids, did i really look like a criminal entering canada? Was he just doing his job in a weird way or was he just a racist, profiling me because of my race and hijab?! Cant be sure! Also the staff was yelling the instructions to take out electronics from carry on luggage…..two people on each belt yelling at every traveler in english and french…..cant they just write down the instructions in some universally understoond language? Tiny, dirty, smelly washrooms….my flight got delayed and cancelled and i had to stay at this airport for one whole day with small kids and had to use washrooms multiple times, each time was a torture!

A convenient airport for travellers visiting Quebec, northern Ontario and the neighbouring north-eastern US states. Car rental pick up & drop off are very straightforward and I believe public transportation is 24/7 making the airport easily accessible. The lounge is more like a shopping centre but unlike other airport it does not have duty free shops all over the place. Instead plenty smaller shops and independent food stalls to choose from. Between the airport and the flight, if you are lucky, you may be transported to your plane by the futuristic shuttle-plane (as seen one of the photos. Not sure what they are called so anyone who know the answer please enlighten me!

Redoing this post as when we returned from our trip had the most dangerous and rudest parking lot driver. We were picked up around 12:20 am November 19. The driver wouldn't answer our questions about parking lots but even worse was flying through the lots. There was even a child on board and we were all holding on for dear life as we were bounced around. This person should not be allowed to drive. I've attached the QR code for his shuttle. Please retrain this guy if you can't get rid of him, he will kill someone one day. Typical of Montreal it was a bit of a trek finding our way to this airport but once inside it was very clean and well mapped. Parking for our holiday requires taking a shuttle and the parking cost is $30/day or $160/7days. Plan for lots of time to get through security and US Customs if travelling to USA.

Nice looking airport, but definitely need improvement on handling the COVID restrictions. On two occasions, same month, waited over 2 hrs to pass security. Long waits and zero communication from staff as to what is happening or no update regarding the wait time. Almost missed my flight and nobody seemed to care to provide assistance during the extremely long wait

We got in early, dropped our rental car off, checked in with luggage. Everything is automated and super easy. Security was pretty fast. No issues. Clean airport. A few good of eateries, restaurants and gift shops.

Chaotic Airport (but otherwise pleasant experience). My family and I have used this airport as a layover between flights from Ottawa (1st time in Apr 2018 to Las Vegas, 2nd time in Jan 2023 to Punta Cana). First time we had a much better experience despite being in a rush to make a connection with ONLY 45 min. Staff were super friendly and gave us a lift to our Gate destination. On our 2nd visit during our return back to Ottawa it was extremely stressful, chaotic, and unpleasant staff. They almost misplaced our luggage and found them eventually after an hour of searching. Luckily we had a 3-hour layover. I guess depend on luck. On the positive note, we loved the actual walk on the runway (outside).

There have been some nice renovations from what I remember. For one, the seating is more comfortable while you wait to depart. I was so happy to find a place to lie down for a snooze…very appreciated New Year’s Day!! I was also impressed with the play areas for kids, the ambiance of the Carlos & Pepe’s and the Christmas decorations and the permanent art near my gate A66.

This airport is very crowded. Not very well designed. Gates are congested. There are not too many lounge options if you are flying to the United States. Public transportation is amazing. For $11 you can travel from the airport to downtown.

First time here. Relatively easy to navigate. Smaller and a little tight on the domestic side. Curious to see what the international departure is like. Hotel shuttle is on the opposite side of the terminal near the US check-in gates so it was a bit of a walk. Loved being able to watch the airplanes take off and land up close.

We arrived at 3pm for a 7pm flight to France. We drove from Kingston, so left extra time. It is much easier than usual to unload at the street level of departures since there are so few people at the airport. There were very few people checking in when we did, not surprisingly, and few going through security: it was a breeze. Many stores are closed, but there are the minimum necessary: Relays, duty-free, restaurants, only one The Source... The gates in use are spread out; nowhere does it feel crowded. Everyone respects the mask mandate. I feel safe here.

The airports functions very well, compared to many others in the world. Arrivals are slow, because the border guards verify all COVID documents. But departure is swift. The Air Canada lounge functions but oddly with carton dishes. Recommended to fly from Montreal because the airport is not so busy as Toronto.

We flew in and out of Montreal with Flair Airlines. On our way out we had requested a wheelchair. I requested a wheelchair for my post surgical child. I was told that there was NO assistant available to assist me with transporting my child, a carry on and two personal bags. I manufactured a baggage cart + wheelchair train that my child held with their feet while I pushed from behind. I was not allowed to bring the cart through security. I was left to carry all the bags alone while simultaneously pushing my child (they could not hold anything due to the location of their surgery stitches). After inquiring with various YUL airport employees an angel emerged. Her name is Lani Balcazo. She stopped whatever she was doing, collected my child's personal and carry on baggage. She walked from gate 48 all the way to gate 6 where our flight departure was. Thank you Lani. Your kindness and assistance was greatly appreciated.

It was an experience with the new entry rules. Thankfully not a lot of flights landing so it only added about an extra 40 minutes to leaving the airport. The test was quick and painless. Not sure being stuck in quarantine in my basement for 48 hours until I get my results will beas painless. Well it does need some cleaning. Please be polite and nice to all the staff it is not their fault for the delay and the testing.

Nice airport but they should clean their washrooms. I went to one of washrooms and there were blood spots on the floor. Washrooms were smelling bad and napkins were all over the floor. Few shops are there to buy food and other accessories. I found it little bit crowded with people. There was one departure gate that wasn’t marked properly. There was just one piece of paper with gate no. posted there . I found it very unusual

No problems at all at this airport, maybe it was because it was a Saturday evening. Easy pickup when we arrived and easy drop off when we left. Overall a very good experience.

Flew from Montreal to Germany. The plane ride was comfy, and the screens had plenty of shows and movies which was amazing. They gave us food (pasta and chicken), and gave us refreshments too (sodas and juices). The cabin was nicely lit, and for my first flight this was a delightful experience!

For leisure or work travel, Montreal's airport is always a pleasure to visit. It's always clean, well staffed and it's nicely decorated. The check-in was quick and efficient. The duty free shop is always a good place for last minute souvenirs.

Modern airport, could use a make over though. People smoking in the no smoking 🚭 area: Very strange. It's a very long process before you exit the airport, so be prepared. Easy pickup when there is no traffic. Each zone has a letter, facilitating pickups. It's the summer, so I will give this airport the benefit of the doubt (could have be cleaner). My observations are only for the arrivals.

When an airport gets so big that it needs its security to ride bikes to cover one part (i.e., gates for international travellers already through customs), I'm not sure it is adding as much convenience to the customers/flyers who utilize it. With that said, and the reality that it looks like they're building further onto this airport), I think this is one of the better large airports I've utilized. They have all the same amenities (incl. dramatically overpriced food) that other airports have, but the Montreal-Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (YUL) has a smaller airport feel, and has done an admirable job of hiding its size behind a more comfortable aesthetic and friendly staff.
