I
attended
this
clinic
as
directed
by
811
because
of
a
sudden
lump
I
had
in
my
lower
torso.
The
doctor
was
very
efficient
and
arranged
for
a
scan
for
me
after
telling
me
it
was
likely
a
hernia.
From
that
point
on
I
may
as
well
have
said
goodbye
to
efficiency
and
my
own
sanity.
To
get
to
the
radiology
department
you
have
to
leave
the
building
and
head
next
door
to
reenter
the
building
and
go
downstairs.
Then
you
are
faced
with
receptionists
who
seem
in
a
permanent
state
of
confusion
and
are
endlessly
shuffling
paper.
To
see
them
you
have
to
wedge
yourself
to
one
side
of
a
very
narrow
corridor
which
is
often
in
use.
When
you
do
see
them,
and
have
their
attention
for
more
than
a
minute,
you
feel
as
if
you
are
imposing
because
they
are
so
busy
and
you
are
in
such
an
awkward
position
physically.
Unfortunately,
I
had
to
reschedule
an
appointment
because
I
had
family
issues
then
an
accident.
That
meant
I
attempted
to
call
the
radiology
department.
Oh
dear,
more
trials
awaited.
I
called
the
number
for
the
main
clinic
and
listened
to
the
seemingly
endless
list
of
departments
and
followed
all
instructions
to
be
told
a
different
phone
number
to
call.
Fine,
that
is
what
had
to
be
done.
What
was
not
fine
was
that
when
I
called
that
number
it
put
me
through
to
a
financial
institution
which
began
talking
about
investments
and
other
such
things.
Convinced
I
had
made
a
mistake
I
repeated
this
ridiculous
game,
even
getting
others
to
try
it,
to
no
avail.
With
no
other
option
I
grabbed
my
crutches
and
got
my
wife
to
take
me
to
the
clinic.
I
headed
to
the
reception
desk
of
radiology
and
asked
about
the
rescheduled
appointment
and
was
categorically
told
it
did
not
exist.
The
receptionists
did
shuffle
multiple
pieces
of
paper
to
come
to
that
conclusion,
it
must
be
said.
I
told
them
I
was
sure
it
did
exist
and
the
doctor
would
likely
be
in
contact
with
them
in
the
near
future.
It
comes
to
the
day
before
the
appointment
that
doesn't
exist
and
I
receive
a
phone
call
to
remind
me
of
that
exact
appointment.
When
I
say
I
cannot
make
it
because
I
now
have
another
appointment
for
my
broken
foot
I
am
told
I
was
informed
of
the
one
that
they
were
calling
about
first.
That
would
be
the
one
that
existed,
didn't
exist,
and
then
they
were
calling
me
about
I
suppose.
Basically
their
incredibly
effective
filling
system
had
screwed
up.
A
couple
of
weeks
later
the
doctor
calls
me
to
tell
me
I
do
have
a
hernia
and
he
will
be
in
touch
within
the
next
three
months
about
surgery.
Almost
three
months
later
I
was
in
the
area
of
the
clinic
so
I
decided
to
check
up
on
the
situation.
The
receptionist
then
tells
me
everything
has
been
dropped
because
the
doctor
had
not
talked
with
me.
Yes,
you
guessed
it,
she
stated
he
hadn't
talked
to
me
on
the
date
he
actually
called
me
and
told
me
about
the
operation.
In
conclusion
to
this
extremely
long
tale;
the
doctors
may
be
fine
but
the
support
staff
are
severely
lacking
and
the
arrangement
of
things
is
abysmal.
