The extra bed policy is not clear . The hotel hold extra 300 Franks on top of the paid amount of the room which was not also clearly stated when I booked . The hotel private parking charge 25 franks per night which is higher by about 5 franks than usual private parking charge in Switzerland. The extra bed I paid for came without fitted sheets which I had to request. The paper I had to sign when I checked in was written in French and the reception did not explain to me what I was signing on. The fridge was really small and sealed which prevented me to utilize. I do not recommend this hotel to any family guests especially if you have children. The worst 5 star hotelc experience I have ever experienced.

This is a 3 start hotel, from facilities to staff. Highly overpriced for what it offers. They tried to sell me an upgrade, and then told me the spa was not working, and when I complained that they did not inform me before, they said I booked through Booking and they should have informed me. No apologies, nothing - from a 5 star hotel. The rooms look like they probably did 50 years ago, the door to the bathroom is falling apart… I really do not recommend!

I was pleasantly surprised by our experience at Royal Plaza based on some of the reviews being a little all over the place. We booked the White Junior Suite and it was so clean and had an amazing view. We loved the accessibility to the lakeside pathway. We also had a great dinner at the hotel restaurant. All staff were so friendly and helpful! We would highly recommend!

Recently stayed with my family for 4 nights on my first Swiss trip to Montreux. First let’s start with room, the stay was comfortable and rooms are comfy. Next location wise, easily accessible from Montreux station. Vernex is just right beside it. Take 204 from station direct to hotel and get down at Vernex. Service wise is good and staff was helpful. And American buffer breakfast is very good and plenty of varieties, though it is same all day. Only thing I did not like was they asked for a deposit of 400 CHF while check-in. Believe me I have been to many hotels but none asked for a deposit. First I thought, it might be a Swiss thing but I went to Interlaken and Lucerne and none asked for it. I was damned surprised. I do not see the point but anyway it was a reservation and was cancelled at check-out. The deposit thing was a really off for people and my recommendation for hotel is to consider this.

Hotel is ok, rooms are ok. Honestly maybe the whole place needs a little makeover. Late eighties early nineties style. But decent in the end and not that expensive. Food is ok and view is great.

Our stay in Royal Plaza was amazing! The room were very clean, nice, with a perfect view in the lake. The stuff was very kind and helpful. I would like to visit again this wonderful hotel. By now, it was the best hotel I have ever stayed! Well done!

From the booking procedure it was smooth and fast. Upon arrival I had a warm and friendly welcome, with my partner we enjoyed the spa, the pool and jacuzzi. At the end of the day we had dinner at the Sinatra’s bar. All the team is very friendly, attentive to the concerns of the guests, I recommend it for people who want to have a good view of the lake

Spent 8 days here during the Jazz festival. The rooms are spacious, the views are incredible, and the service is attentive. We also really enjoyed Sinatras (except their martini, my fav drink, was the worst cocktail I’ve ever had). The other cocktails were good and it’s nice to sit and people watch during afternoon drinks. The free breakfast was just ok, they have the same thing every day which got old. The best things on their room service menu were the Cesar salad, the steak tar tar, the fries, and the orange juice. The burger meat tasted like meat loaf. Overall a great stay and I’d recommend it.

We should have avoided to visit this city when the Jazz Festival was happening. The lake side became so crowded and noisy at that time. Otherwise the lake view from the rooms of this hotel is spectacular.

Location 6 stars! It was one of the most beautiful hotel views I ever had. A room with a lake view is a must. You can see the mountain ranges and the blue water and when the sun is shining even just a little, it's absolutely stunning. The people were really friendly, helpful and accommodating. Breakfast with the lake view was a dream start to each day. The rooms were easily big enough and even had a coffee machine with (a limited amount) of FREE pads each day. Overall we had a great time!

This is a beautiful hotel. The lobby and the outside bar are amazing, and the breakfast was great. However, the room we were given was terrible. It was at the end of a dingy hallway and the air conditioning did not work. They would not move us to a different room, or offer anything to make our stay more pleasant until the following day, when we again complained about the heat.

A 5* hotel right on the foot of lac leman (lake Geneva) Facing the lake and the Swiss Alps. So if you book yourself a lake view room which I recommend as we booked two you will enjoy a perfect view. Definitely worth it. Enjoy breakfast in bed with that view. It's perfect. Watching sunset and the glistening lake is just magical. All local amenities are a short walk outside. It's really perfect. Food is great. Was a little over our budget with all food but worth it. Did a lot of backpacking and treks from here. Staff are polite. I recommend a lake view. I would stay again. Stayed at another hotel near here too. Recommend.

1 star just for the location of the Hotel. The behaviour of the front desk staff is very bad, they do not know how to respectfully talk to a customer, specially mentioning a name ELIAN, she has not been taught how to talk to a customer. The rooms of the hotel are very small in size and do not have enough space to even open 2 suitcases, even the bathrooms are very small in size. You can clearly hear what people in the room next to you are talking which becomes very disturbing when you are trying to sleep. Just by making the infrastructure you cannot call it a 5 star hotel, there are services and hospitality which makes it worth. Just because my bookings were prepaid i had to stay in this hotel otherwise there are a lot of better hotels to stay in the same locality. Tried asking them for an upgrade to which they asked me to pay 95 CHF extra per night. Would also like to add that they just have 1 french restaurant which has very limited options and it is very expensive. Also they have a common spa and swimming pool area which smells really bad and is very unhygienic. Would never suggest anybody to stay in this hotel, instead opt for a 4 star hotel it will be much cheaper and much more value for money.

Fantastic hotel and staff! Epic Geneva view and a nice walking path. The facility and service are excellent. You do feel immersed in a 5-star hotel.

From outside it looks a bit old, but believe me the location is great and the view is astonishing !! The moment you step into the hotel’s loby, it takes your breath away. All the staff were friendly. Specially, I would like to thank Mr Vincent. He is the best employee we have ever encountered. He explained all the tourists spots thoroughly. He recommended some great restaurants and places to visit. He is beyond awesome 👍🏻. Keep up the good work. Will recommend it to my family and friends. Hopefully will visit them again. If I would suggest one thing its to change the room’s furniture to catch up with the amazing view. Other than that, everything was great.

The view was 10 stars, and the reception was polite and helpful. Other than that, this was a 2, or at most, 3 star hotel. Maybe they were 5 stars 30 years ago, but certainly not now. They are coasting on the view. We stayed on the top floor, ostensibly the nicest floor, but the bed and pillows were very uncomfortable, the carpets stained, the doors and finishings cracked and peeling. The closest comparison I can think of, excluding the view and the size of the room, was a 60 franc a night hostel in a seedy part of town. Breakfast was on the poor side, and the cappuccino (almost certainly from an auto Nespresso machine) was one of the worst I've ever had, while priced like a premium one. If you ONLY care about the view, and all other lakeside hotels are booked, then I would still advise you to stay away.

This is a beautiful hotel right on the lake. Walk out the doors and you can take a walk along the lake that has artwork and restaurants. The room was immaculate and the staff was very helpful.

The standard junior suite was spacious and neat, had great amenities, and plush linens and robes. And a bathtub! I loved the room itself. The spa services were excellent with conscientious relaxing care. They are also reasonably priced considering the level of the hotel. My suite had a terrible view--out to empty planters and the legs of folks going to and from the terrace. The alternative, to sit on the terrace overlooking the lake, wasn't too appealing. The coverage isn't easy (I moved the umbrella myself) and it's away from the pool. This is a beautiful hotel, with a nice lobby, but it is limited in terms of choices. Rather than the big breakfast I chose the Petit Dejuner, which is served in the lobby bar. This was the best part of my day, looking out to the lake with some coffee and croissant. I recommend you insist on a room with a view and you won't have to go to the super pricey restaurant or the "adequate" terrace.

The hotel is absolutely terrible. The only reason I gave it 2 stars is because of the staff that were trying to do their best. Dishes are not clean, rooms are not clean enough, there was one evening that they cleaned my room and when I got back it was open! The door was totally open. The breakfast is an insult and at the price of 300 chf a night I would expect for more. All and all NOT WORTH IT. DISAPPOINTED

Overall our stay was average. While the staff are helpful, the hotel is too old and outdated. Would rather stay else where. Following are the issues 1) The room air conditioning is not at all effective even at the minimum setting. b) The housekeeping does not clean the bathroom properly or even replace the room consumables like coffee or water. c) The carpets in the lobby and room are dirty and stained. d) The bathroom is too small e) The breakfast is very average for a 5 star hotel.

We stayed in this hotel during the Montreux Jazz festival. We chose it because the outstanding view and proximity to the festival. There was a warning when we booked that there may be noise pollution from the festival (which I appreciated being warned about) but we didn’t find the noise from the festival to be disruptive when we went to bed. The room was very spacious, would definitely come back!

Overall a wonderful experience. The location was marvelous and the room exceptional. We completely enjoyed our stay. Staff was very helpful especially the two individuals who serviced the room and the beverages. Room was perfect. Breakfast was great though service could have been a little better. Staff kind but not overly so though for breakfast tended to focus on the middle room and ignore the farther dining area... almost 10 minutes to get a cappuccino/coffee, with 4 people in the middle area and none coming into the other. This happened on both mornings. The evening bar staff the first night was just fantastic. Went out of their way to service. Two young men but unfortunately did not record their names. The second night was a young lady but not quite as helpful but still ok. We did not enjoy the dining as the menu was a little too limited for our palate. I could not quite give a 5 but would add a plus to the 4 rating.
