The Observatory North Park is an amazing open floor venue. While it is rather large, most shows feel very intimate. They have a great staff and a several bars available. There’s a great parking garage across the street (your ticket purchase includes parking). While there are many open floor venues in San Diego, I continue returning to the Observatory. Give it a chance if you see a show you’d like to attend, you won’t be disappointed.

Great atmosphere really laid back right minded people who are there for the music and to have a great time without any drama the entire staff of the Observatory are very friendly excellent service. The entire venue is easy to navigate around between the bar and to going out to smoke a cigarette between sets, over-all I had a great time there the sound is amazing really great venue for any type of genre of live music. I'm looking forward to the next time that I'm there for another concert and one last thing the lighting on stage during sets strobes are great I enjoyed the stage lighting the performances. Highly recommend this venue to anyone that wants to go see a concert.

Awesome intimate venue in the heart of North Park. West Coast Tavern serves as an alternate entry point if you want to enjoy dinner and drinks before, during and after the show. We saw Royal Blood on Mother's Day and show was incredible. Sound was outstanding and even though we were standing, there are 3 levels on the main floor, one slightly elevated than the next which gives you a great vantage point from any location. Will definitely check out this venue again as it is a 3 minute drive from where we live and we could have easily walked.

Great concert experience. The security personnel are really dedicated for safety. They are really alert to anything. The venue is safe and you can easily park your car across the public parking garage.

Cool venue (slanted stage, air conditioning from the ground, beautiful as hell). Sound system is not great (not loud enough). The 2 stars is for them being out of draft beer nearly every time I go... Cashless? More like beerless.

It became one of my favorite venues for concerts in San Diego. Not too big, not too small, it's just perfect because no matter where are you standing you'll see and hear perfectly the show. The structure inside and outside has history and the sound inside is great! LOVE IT.

We saw Alvvays here. Wonderful general admission music venue. Parking is handled well here - you park in the structure across the street and with your Observatory ticket are validated. Plenty of bar space for a drink. There could be more restrooms and they could be cleaner but that's about my only complaint.

Favorite place for shows in San Diego. Good acoustics and great atmosphere. Staff were also accommodating to people with disabilities, which means a lot in an environment where people still want to be able to enjoy live music.

Came here Aug 22 for Chlöe's concert and had a great time! The security people were nice. Didn't like the bartender so much, he seemed not so nice. And the drinks are obviously very overpriced. We got charged $25 for 1 alcoholic drink + 1 non alcoholic drink. Don't even know which one was how much. Parking was good, we didn't pay anything because the concert ticket came with validation.

Went to a show at The Observatory last Saturday to see Microwave and The Menzingers. Every time I come to a show here, I’m more than impressed by the quality of the place. Quite possibly one of my favorite San Diego venues to see live music.

Nice place. There's a paid parking structure nearby. Prices seemed reasonable. I saw AJJ. It is connected to a bar which is also the entrance to the show. That confused me a bit. There is a windoe to buy tickets, but when i went that wasn't available as an entrance. Typical for a concert.

A really great intimate venue to see up and coming bands. Even some that are pretty well established! Great sound and plenty of bars to grab a drink. Always a fun time!

I love this venue. Definitely need earplugs! If you're not an earplugs user I can't recommend them enough. Even with them the audio is crispy and you won't damage your ear holes. I've seen just under 10 shows here and each production has been flawless. Props to the house crew and security as well for keeping it safe. 👏

Small venue but gives you a good intimate feeling with the performers and the community around you. Several bars scattered about to do their best with the lines. I've had a blast every time I've come so far and it's my favorite venue so far that I've been to in the couple months I've been in SD.
