I don't personally trust many 'fitness coach' but Van KNOWS what he does. Well designed program, great and comfortable atmosphere, and very reasonably priced. Strength and balance classes are my favourite, really enjoy the low-impact and safe exercises that really works and won't aggravate my back pain. 5/5

I have been a CM member for over a year and I love that the classes don’t feel like ‘workouts’. Each class is a fun, friendly and supportive group session where everyone participates at their own pace. All classes are led by a Personal Trainer with expertise and experience in fitness for the over-50’s. Exercises are designed to consider any injuries or limitations and then, as strength and fitness improves, offer a range of extension challenges. The classes differ every day so I am never bored. The trainers closely monitor every individual’s progress so while there is no comparison or competition, I feel seen. Community Moves is as important to my mental health as my physical. Classes and organised social events have helped me make new friends and feel more connected to my local community. Mel K

For the past 9 years my Cardiologist told me not to do anything that got my heart racing and that I may need an operation at some stage. I stopped everything and only went for slow flat walks. Now, new research shows that moderate exercise can be beneficial. Cardiologist told me to join a fitness program. So, I found COMMUNITY MOVES 4 months ago. After attending CM 3 times a week since then, my Cardiologist is extremely happy with my progress, doesn’t want to see me for another 12 months instead of the usual 6 months and wants me to keep doing what I’m doing! I feel wonderful, fitter and have more energy. The social interaction at CM is also a bonus. I can’t thank Van and Dilys enough for my new lease on life! I would highly recommend Community Moves to all.

Van's program is structured to cover key functional areas but flexible in accommodating the needs, capabilities, and restrictions of each individual. Class size is capped and the community is friendly and supportive. Community Moves is ann excellent choice for anybody who wants to get more active and fit without shouting, grunting, or throwing around weights.

Both Van and Dilys are experts in the field of fitness for older people. There is huge flexibility to exercise to the peak of your own ability and they notice immediately if an activity is too difficult and suggest an alternative without giving you any sense of failure or embarrassment. The community feel is lovely and welcoming and the other participants are all very warm and friendly. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Van and the team at Community Moves is the best fitness solution for over 50s. The team are attentive, and know every member’s capability and requirements. Personally, I’m there to gain fitness and strength, but I’m certain that you can achieve whatever your goals are at Community Moves. It’s a wonderful experience, with a great environment, and I’m feeling more confident and stronger every day. Robyn Stewart

A wonderful wholistic fitness centre that is very 'community' focused....for the over 55s community who want to feel well, strong, balanced and connected. I joined 6 months ago at early semi-retirement (after never being a 'gym' person as I have been sailing and cycling for decades). Great group or individual fitness sessions, and social activities and learning events add great value. It's not a big commercial chain who are just after profits; its owner and director, Van, and his team, are well-qualified and very encouraging, taking evidence-based approaches. I feel well, energetic and strong and am enjoying making new friends - sort of like finding a new tribe to belong to!!

I have only been going to Community Moves for a month and find they have been great in providing a supportive and balanced structure to improve health and fitness. The entire team is very professional, welcoming, caring and informative. I highly recommend them for anyone over 50's wanting to improve their fitness and maintaining their mobility! .

Love the classes offered by Community Moves. Natalie is a great instructor who, with her knowledge and guidance makes the classes all the more enjoyable. Lovely to meet like minded ladies and a great way to get back into "enjoyable" exercise.

👍👍 The cleanest gym I've ever been to. Staff members are incredibly polite and helpful. The members are kind and non-judgemental for all gym-goers at any level. The equipment is top notch and is kept in great quality. Free WiFi, not too busy outside of peak hours, and it's in a great location near sup...

😠 Be there very early or very late or it's like mother Ganges in heat wave. Majority of lanes are reserved for lessons and recreational swimmers must share 4-5 people per lane. Steam and sauna are great. Fix the congestion/overlay of swim classes!

👍 Club is nice and small. The food outlets are average. I wouldn't be going back for the food for sure. Staff are friendly.

😠 Absolutely disgusted with the cleanliness in this place! The girls changing room was FULL of hair, the shower cubicles were slimy, toilets full of tissue and refuse scattered all around, cockroaches on the floor, rusted lockers, used plasters in the grids of the pool areas and crushed cans scattere...

😠 The price is good but it is not worth it. It has been 3 weeks with no hot water in shower, ever since I joined . When the weather is getting colder and for people who like to shower after workout to go elsewhere it is not possible. If you live nearby and can go home to shower after workout it is a g...
