A great spot for walking, any time of year. Never too busy and the trails are beautiful. Or you can walk along the lake.

Well maintained trails at the back the estate. The estate by itself is a great museum which offers a glimpse back into the old days. The lake is opening its arms to your kayak or boat during summertime. Wide open lawns with picnic tables on work just perfectly for families and friends.

Always love coming back here, just far enough away from the world and yet it's just around the corner. Great for hiking or just walking around the fields and if you want to learn some history of the early days the museum is a good size. Always friendly and never busy so always quiet. Also has a little coffee shop in the old cellar for a quick snack.

It's a great place to go hiking anytime of the year, but the trails can be challenging. They are not well grooomed with nice wide gravel roads like you find on the Canada trails system but raw trails thru the woods, with the exception of the Lake Martha trail. But thats what makes them so good. The house and trees are awesome... and so is the Uniacke history. There is plenty of parking and on-site washrooms.

We toured the Estate Museum and got good insight from the staff on the history of the house and Uniacke family. Then we hiked the Red Spruce loop described as 1.5 km Challenging walk of high difficulty. I would rate it as medium as it is a natural trail and there were wet spots that I had to balance while stepping between stones to avoid soakers and mud. The Red Spruce Trail is not suitable for strollers or bikes but has brooks and a mossy bog. I will be back to try out the other trails. Beautiful spot to launch kayaks.

A very enjoyable evening here - sun setting on the water, a bubbling brook, and beautiful trails. A lovely place of peacefulness that is still close to the city of Halifax.

Love visiting here in the summer when the museum is open but the trails are wonderful for walking any time of year. This is a beautiful property and enough if you are not up for a walk you can enjoy the quiet on one of the benches along Lake Martha.

One of our favourite places to visit and hike! Beautiful well maintained estate and trails. So close to city yet so pristine.

We were first introduced to this estate by our hiking groups and we come back for the trails. The trails are amazing, and give you a good tour of what used to be the vast estate. The grounds and the remaining houses and other buildings are great to explore. If they needed anything, we would just love it if they could somehow re-open a café here like they used to have.

Well preserved heritage home, with a good cafe for a light meal. The grounds have walking trials suitable for most levels of fitness.

What a beautiful spot to spend a day, the house and the history of the place is very interesting, the antiques in the house are beautiful, the staff are very friendly and informative, they have a tea room in the basement kitchen, the grounds are beautiful and well kept, picnic tables as well, and numerous walking trails, one of them beside Lake Martha, my eight year old granddaughter really enjoyed her visit with us, she is still talking about it, so glad we visited, will certainly return soon, a hidden gem.

Beautifully kept. A really authentic feeling and probably the best heritage house experience in Canada

I've only done a few of the trails, but I will definitely be back to try the rest (on a regular basis). Gorgeous park, well maintained trails, plenty of signs and easy rooms on site. Beautiful.

When I went we got to walk around the beautiful estate, we didn't get to go into the museum. By the time we explored the grounds it was closed. I would recommend going because it's beautiful the grounds are well kept it's also great for kids to run around.

Great spot, can do alot of walking here...Water and snacks advised if you have small kids, some paths are not as trimmed as others and gets quite tight at times or else I would have gave 5 stars. Really nice place

👍👍 A lovely place to walk with a friend or pet. The trails are easy with gorgeous views. We found young raccoons tucked in next to the trail, and the pink lady slipper orchids are scattered about.
