We visited this restaurant in May and enjoyed ourselves so much. For a start, we stumbled upon this place as we got rejected by other places for not having a prior reservation. This was the only place in the area that made the effort to accommodate us even though they were full (gave us counter seats by the wall). In particular, I wanted to give a big shout-out to the owner (I presume) of the place. The level of service and passion he displayed was commendable. He took the effort not only to translate the entire menu, but also to explain them, going in great detail to share which regions the produce / dishes came from, explaining the different cuts of ham etc. A lot of the dishes were new to me, and it was quite the experience trying them out for the very first time. Food wise, it was incredible, rustic and simple, yet so full of depth and flavours. Thank you once again for the great meal. Truly enjoyed our experience.

Five stars is not enough. I have never enjoyed myself so much at a restaurant. I had a reservation and came early, I was seated immediately in the basement which was very calm and peaceful. Éric was too kind and explained the entire menu to me in English and was very knowledgeable about the food. His recommendations were amazing. I had the jamon with melon and a pasta dish, and a chocolate tart for dessert. The food was a wonderful balance of simple and complex: great quality ingredients and very balanced flavors. The portion sizes were perfect! Éric also gave me wine recommendations for each course, Italian wine is my favorite and his was the best and paired very well. Every Italian restaurant I go to I am always searching for Lambrusco, he had two kinds and let me try them both. The real beauty of this place and experience is not in the food or the wine however, it is in Éric's passion and love for the restaurant experience of high quality food and service. His talent is a gift and I was too lucky to have the opportunity to dine here. He was so welcoming and kept checking to see how I was enjoying myself. I would return to Paris just for this restaurant. My thanks to Éric and the entire staff. If you are interested enough in this restaurant to be reading the reviews, stop reading them and go to try it, you will not be disappointed!

Skip the nonsense at the trendy Big Mamma Group. This is where you find legitimate, handmade ravioli and fantastic wine. Excellent service and incredible food in an intimate atmosphere. So glad we stumbled upon Via Emilia!

The best restaurant in paris! The host was very friendly. He explained the menu in detail. The wine he recommaned was a nice match with the food. During 8 days in paris, I have visited twice this restaurant. I will go this restaurant again when I come back paris. I sincerely thank you for the host and chef.

What a great find in Paris! We ate here for lunch and then made another reservation for a couple days later. Simple menu with attention to the quality and simplicity which to me is the definition of proper Italian cooking. The burrata appetizer was amazing and so was the mixed vegetables with mozzarella appetizer. The mozzarella is top quality and the burrata had a little bit of black truffle in the middle. All the stuffed pasta we had was amazing and loved that they all come in a simple butter and sage sauce. Trust Eric on wine recommendations by the glass to pair with your food. Service was attentive and friendly. We will be back next time we are in Paris.

First time here, Kelly and Andrea were amazing! We had a round of cocktails, the charcuterie board and a round of wine. They were conversational, and attentive. We started with appetizers at their sister restaurant across street, The Mariner, where Amanda was great. Can’t go wrong with either, I’d suggest starting with one, and ending with the other. You’ll have an amazing time either way, but go for the best time and split your time.

words can't describe how memorable this place is. we were served by the owner himself who treated us to a complimentary beverage for a small but understandable reservation error. the thought that goes into the ingredients were very refreshing. specific flour that is better for digestion. regional ideologies and traditions. gotta love that stuff. best meal I had in Paris by far.

To be safe, make sure you make a reservation! The food is great, but even greater is the absolute passion emanating from M. Eric. The rich menu makes it difficult to make a choice. Portions range from satisfying to copious. We will definitely return!

My wife and I spent two weeks in Italy last summer and we were both pretty sure this is the best Italian food we’ve ever had. Two Parisians sitting next to us said this is the best Italian food in all of Paris. The service is top notch, too.

My boyfriend and I, after a day of traveling, we’re exhausted and hungry. We didn’t even plan to dine in but so glad we did. Really great atmosphere and welcoming staff. The owner was very attentive and even explained the menu in great detail to us, and we ended up ordering the same thing but the second I took a bite - delish, I was eating slow to savor every bite. Bread, drinks and dessert were wonderful as well. Thank you for a great experience, if you’re reading this, GO!

Best Italian food we have experienced since visiting Bologna! Cute little restaurant in the 9th, with casual but romantic atmosphere. Menu is on a chalk board and translated for each table. So delicious we went twice! -Connor and Mia

Make a reservation and accept all of the owner’s recommendations - including wine. So good. The best food we’ve had in Paris since arriving.

What a lovely Italian place with the best vegetarian lasagne I have ever tried. Nice service and atmosphere were the cherry on the top

We were so so so lucky to snag a table at the last minute (having read about it here on TA - never would have found it otherwise). Eric’s service even before we got there in dealing with our reservation request was faultless. Then his patience in explaining each dish really does show the love and passion he has for his food, and how much he cares that his customers have the very best experience. Food was just perfect - fresh, flavourful, and interesting - we struggled to choose (got to comeback for the lasagne!) and having both tried things we hadn’t had before, everything was sublime. Just what we love - great food and caring service with a friendly ambiance. Eric and team fully deserve their TA ranking, and on our next Paris trip we won’t ever risk not booking in advance again - he must have turned away at least a dozen other diners in the time we were there. Highly recommend!

Great Italian restaurant! We had the truffle burrata as a starter, and the lasagna and butternut squash raviolis as main dishes. Everything was delicious.

Fantastic meal. LOVED everything. lasagna was to die for and the raviloi was cooked to perfection. See picture of lasagna, layers of heaven. burrata a bit too cold for me. salad dressed perfectly *** :)

Delicious homemade pasta, quality ingredients, the owner takes his time to explain the menu. I recommend reserving a table as they’re often full.

VIA EMILIA was absolutely lovely. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded expectations which were already sky high after reading the rave reviews. I so appreciated watching the owner take every table through the hand written menu while breaking down each dish’s components. If we could’ve eaten here everyday, we would without hesitation.
