This is a very old traditional shop which has stood the test of time. Not only does the shop stood the test of time, so does the tradition which has been passed down the future generations. Donโ€™t expect a fancy newly decorated restaurant. Everything here is old. This place will remind you of the days when your grandparents bring you out for meals in the olden times. You will reminiscent those days again. Old is gold! Hahaha. Very old-school flavours!! Absolutely delicious!! No one can replace those memories or flavours stuck in our memory of those good old days. Portions are big and prices are reasonable. The flavours marinated in to the hainanese chicken chop and gravy are just simply indescribable. Stepping into the shop, you will be amazed at their decorations. Photos, furniture and cooking ware stood the test of time. Just like the olden times, I get very nostalgic. Menus are simple and options are limited but what is offered are one of the best tasting meals I have ever tasted. I could only have 2 servings as the portions are big. I shall be back again in my next trip to try out other menus. Good for family outings. This place is truly a step back in time. Super love places like these!! Highly recommended.

    1. Location: just follow Google Map, in the city, before Public bank, parking may be limited during weekdays, remember to display your parking coupon. 2. Ambience: old type 60s hainanese restaurant, graded B by the local municipal. 3. Food: Authentic Hainamese Chicken chop and variety of others fried rice, irderbto cook dishes, and pork free. 4. Taste: Excellent! Especially the beef steak we ordered, perfectly grilled, soft and juicy. And that "authentic" hainamese gravy that come with onion and beans etc goes very well with the steak and French fried potatoes. The chef is the 70+ years old hainanese uncle, I believe is the 2nd generation owner of the restaurant. 5. Order and service is in charge by a young guy, the 3rd generation of the owner, friendly and good service. 6. Waiting time: a downside if it is full house, you need to wait for quite some time for the meals to serve. 7. Price: very reasonable! 8. Recommendation: will come back during off peak season and non peak hours.

We ordered the fried mee hoon and chicken chop. Fried mee hoon is spicy, but tastes good. Chicken chop is good, just a bit salty. Will try other dishes the next time. Price is reasonable. Sitting inside the restaurant feels very cooling, as it is an old shoplot, with high ceiling and very airy.

Very authentic hainanese restaurant. The chop gravy is so nice, and flavourful. Really enjoy the food there. Lady boss very friendly โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ and many local people have their dinner there.

This is the best Hai Nam beef steak. The beef steak was soft and tender. In short, childhood taste.

This place is as old school as it gets, the orange squash with fresh pulp and the longan ice totally recalled my young time memories. Hainanese chicken chop and fish fillet are tasty, fried squid is a bit too salty, if combined with the brown sauce from our main dish, it will be balanced.

A place that reminds you of the good old days. Just what I expected of an old Hainanese restaurant. Food is delicious. That Hainanese chicken chop was really good for the first time, had the chillies chicken. Prices are very reasonable as well. Good food, good value.

Mediocre Hainanese chicken chop. Could use a better fries. Sauce is acceptable. Coffee is bad. After 30 mins of waiting, told me Hainanese mee not available.. Disappointing.. Customers who come later than us got this food first... Bad!

Old school with large dash of nostalgia. According to the friendly lady boss, it was a favourite haunt of British troops. The are even dining cubicles with relevant hooks to hang weapons, caps etc. They serve traditional Hainanese western style food. Tried the fish and chips and it was nicely done with mixed vegetables, traditional Hainese brown sauce, egg and chips. On hot days, checkout the iced tea. Think it is made with lime and calamansi and very well done. Certainly refreshing. Do visit this place while you can. Believe such places will not continue as the current generation ages. It will be the end of an era in the true sense :-(.

This place offers the best Hainanese Chicken Chop and even Beef chop! At the left section there is even an old school partition. Not to mention that they do not sell pork and is therefore Muslim Friendly! A MUST COME if u visit Muar!๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Very traditional hainanese style western food. Chicken cutlet coat with thick batter, deep fried and served with gravy sauce over it. Portion is generous as well. Hard to find such western food anymore.

A old school nostalgic restaurant. The hainanese chicken chop is really nice! crispy at the outside, while maintaining a juicy and tender texture.

First stop in Muar but was disappointed with the food here despite the high review of this aged old Hainanese restaurant that is disappearing one by one. Had the chicken chop, fish chop and mee hailam. None was good, if I am to be honest. There wasnโ€™t much taste in the chicken chop, fish chop was salty and mee hailam had more black sauce and lacks any wokhei. Having said that, I love the old shop especially the private room area which is rare and you donโ€™t see any of these around anymore. Come here more for the nostalgia rather than food. Hainanese chicken chop and fried rice. Fried egg come together with the chicken chop. Fried rice kind of wet... Staff wrongly sent our fried rice to an Indian table. We have to wait again after waited sometimes for the food. May be next time should try the fried prawn, fish & chips, beef steak ๐Ÿฅฉ.. seeing people eating...

The wait was very long, probably 30 mins. The chicken chop was 40% actual chicken breast and the rest are just a bunch of brown stuff (dunno what) floating in a flavorless brown sauce. Not impressed at all.
