Beautiful place! especially during the spring. At this time ot the year, there are a lot of colorful flowers that you can find in the gardens. There is a path leading to the English Garden and I would recommend to enter the English Gardens through this way. It's a great place to walk around and enjoy the surroundings.

One of my favorite places to enjoy the sun here in Munich. It’s always very well taken care of and very beautiful. I have a tip for you, it’s a very nice place to enjoy the sun in winter, on the opposite side of the residence there ia a long row of benches that are placed right in front of a wall of bushes. The bushes plus buildings around make a perfect protection for the wind, therefore even in winter you can fill quite warm there in comparison to other places.

Pretty place to walk around, not much to see. But nature and traditional buildings. Worth a visit!

Beautiful little Park right in the middle of the town. Between Residenz and Odeonsplatz! Especially when it snows it's magically! But also in the summer! A must if you are in town!

Good place to wander around and appreciate some sightseeing. Right now is very snowy and the floor is really slippery, but not even that can get into the way for those who appreciate jogs.

Love it here and has been a meaningful part of our family for years. Great place to walk especially in summertime with all the roses in bloom. There is a path to the English Gardens.

Large beautiful gardens right behind the Munich Residence, plenty of small walking paths, benches to sit; many flowers, and roses.

It’s an absolutely beautiful garden near the old town. There are large green spaces and manicured trees. There is an interesting pavilion in the center. I believe there are some fountains. But during the time I visited they were turned off. It’s a great place for relaxing and people watching.

It's one of the most beautiful gardens I've ever seen. The moment I visited the place on a warm summer day with the clear sky, It felt so unrealistic being in a garden full of roses and people happily hanging around. And there was also a guy with piano playing nice songs. Overall, it was an unexpected great experience in Munich. Must-visit place of the city.

Not very impressive in the cold days, but I can't criticize based on the lack of greenery. Seems like a nice park, and I did take a walk. Has a lot of benches. The arc in the middle is nothing fancy, you can easily skip this attraction and go inside the castle.

A city park located at the edge of Munich center. Surrounded by a war memorial in one end, a theater museum and residenz museum. It is a nice place for a quiet time and a nice park but that is all.

Very central location for spending quality time in a historic garden. In winter they cover the fountains. It‘s a 5 minute-walk to a spectacular view in Englisher garden from there!

We had a beautiful walk after brunch. The architecture and landscape is best described as historically wonderful.

Beautiful gardens and grounds... they're actually right next to, almost an extension of the Residenz, which was the official residence of the dukes and rulers of the Bavarian nation in the 16th century. The vast expanse of Hofgarten is a cultural discovery in itself, with paintings along the entrance Wall (off Odeonsplatz). Unfortunately I couldn't visit the Residenz itself due to lack of time. But a tour of these buildings would also be a highlight of a trip to Munich.

Very beautiful garden, a lot of benches to sit. I visited in mid December it was less crowded. Perfect for some quiet walk. I could imagine it would look amazing during spring.

Beautifull Park in English style. Often musicians playing some music. Place to relax and make some refreshing before hard week. Little jealous that I don’t have such a place in my town.

  • 5/5 Kursad T. 8 months ago on Google
Wonderful park for a walk, a cold drink(no need to mention the kind here:) ), reading and relaxing! If you go on a Friday night, just follow the music and you’ll end up watching people dancing! One of my favorites in Munich, day&night!

Beautiful place especially during the spring and summer time because of colorful flowers that you can find in the gardens. There is a path leading to the English Garden. I recommend take the route from Odeon Platz through hofgarten till Englischgarten. you will enter and witness the paintings on the wall related to Bavaria's history. Built between 1613-1617 and renovated after ww2 , you will pass through a very crowded place with mostly people playing the game of throwing a steel ball. you will see also a long hall of high class shops and art galleries. in the middle you will pass through Diana's temple where a lot of musicians plays so you will walk with music. at the end you will see the new Bavaria's parliament building and the war memorial.

I wouldn't say this is a must-see in Munich. The garden is so so. It is quite relaxing, but not much more. There is a man playing live music here, he is good.

Beautiful, romantic garden, often with classical live music played in the central structure which works as a sound amplifier… Quiet benches to read, perfectly groomed flowers, birds singing and an overall sense of peace will be waiting for you

I just love this city) In Munich, some kind of charm is concentrated, which actually affects everyone, these are children, and adults, and men, and women, and retirees ... And ... and ... and ... In the very in the park, be sure to try to catch the guys playing music. They are, as a rule, on weekends and in the gazebo, in the park itself. By the way, before entering the park, drink a beer, and tune in to "take your time" so as not to run through it, but to fully accept all the charm that it gives you)

Stopped by this garden on a rainy day. Overall not really impressed with the flowers, all were same color - red. Seen a lot prettier gardens in Europe. I won’t recommend adding this to your list unless you are already close by.

Very simple yet still beautiful park 🏞️. Walk through the colonnades to see dozens of stunningly beautiful frescos of Bavarian history on display. 🖼️ Very nice gate with Roman-style statuettes at the four corners. Go into the central circular gazebo to get some shade during hot days. ☀️

Nice place to visit.. !! The Hofgarten is a historic park on the northern edge of Munich's old town . It was created from 1613 together with the northern extension of the Munich Residence under Duke Maximilian I.

One of my favorite place in munich. Always so relaxing and chilling. Sometimes there are musicians and salsa dancing group there. The performances are usually quite good. And they change the flowers according to the season I guess, always so beautiful and matching the atmosphere, you can feel they put hearts into it. In general a good place to visit. Recommend!

Very recommended especially in the spring where the blooming red flowers decorate the place.
