Felt like a traditional place for German meetups. The hall is full of people on Friday evening so you couldn't enjoy a conversation with your peers, because the background noise was SUPER LOUD. It is like a beer garden during October fest, but inside. Crowded too. It's good to go if you have large group of friends. The food was okay, big portions but a bit salty for my taste, however I think it is a standard for this type of dish. Beer is good.

Delicious authentic Bavarian foods with mind blowing beer will definitely bring happiness when you are there. One of the popular places for getting the vibe of Bavarian foods and culture with lots of fun. It’s a very busy restaurant so that it is difficult to get a seat without reservation specially on weekends. Better to go there by booking a table beforehand.

Our local friends took us to the restaurant , it was an excellent choice becuase of the food&ambient and the service. The service was too fast and friendly. We almost ordered most of the food on the menu and everybody was happy with their food. And the plates are big enough. It was very crowded so its better to come here with a reservation. We sat on the terrace but inside was much more better with a traditional Bavarian concept.

Very authentic experience. Follow the German beer hall etiquette and you’ll have a great time. Beer was as good as we expected. The food came in big portions and was very delicious.

Never thought I'd miss German food but I did. 😂 And this is the place we choose to go and it was a very wise decision! I like the atmosphere here, and the authentic meals that they offer! The option is quite big, and the beer is also quite tasty!

This place was simply amazing when it comes to traditional Bavarian food. It is set up like a large dining hall so there is no real separation of tables similar to a family style restaurant. The staff were super amazing and helpful and all of the food was exquisite.

Lovely beer, helpful staff. If you're interested you could buy the beer mugs (even the huge 1L ones). You might have to share tables with other groups if the place gets packed, great to make new friends, but probably not a good idea during covid.

Bier Halls don't get any better than this. First off the staff is great. The beer is direct from heaven. The food is traditional German fare and amazing. Skip HB haus and come here!! Not one other American in the joint. So cool.

Traditional German beer hall serving the usual dishes and beers from draft. Our food had good flavors and more than enough portion size. Place is not small but on weekends or when there is a football game on might be worth to make a reservation. Service is very fast for both food and drinks

By far the BEST food we had in Germany. They had the best pork knuckles - the skin was actually all crunchy unlike lots of restaurants, plus it wasn't too salty. The sausages were also good, not the best but not bad. They also allowed us to customize the meat platter. The steak was tender and cooked to perfection, and the spaetzle on the side was cheesy and soft. Waitstaff was friendly, attentive and kept asking if we needed anything else.

Fantastic spot with great food and even better beer. I'm glad we saved this spot for last as everywhere else we would have gone afterwards would have left us wanting to go back here. The Oktoberfest beer was by far the best beer we had in our time in Germany, we even took a few bottles home to the states even though vom fass was so much better. We will be back!

If you can’t / don’t want to deal with the crowds or prices of the official tents at Oktoberfest this is a great second choice and about 1/2 the price. There is a qr code for an English menu and the waiters are used to dealing with tourists. Came here 5 years ago,4 yrs ago and this year… consistent service and quality food. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, classic beer hall. Amazingly, had two vegetarian options on the menu and even a vegan one! Okay, it was the ubiquitous grilled vegetables, but still, it's something. Be prepared to sit next to people you don't know and literally have to climb over them to get in and get out. Perhaps not the most accessible for people with disabilities, but a great place.

Simply wonderful. Here you can feel the real taste of german beer house. Wood tables an chairs, very noisy rooms, but this is the real mood of the place. Beer is of course delicious, and of course also the food!! Very reasonable prices compare to the restaurants closer to the city center.

Augustina is my favourite Bavarian beer, so naturally I came here (again) for a proper Weißwurstfrühstück, which is a traditional Bavarian-style white sausage breakfast completed with Weissbier, freshly baked pretzels and sweet mustard. While there are many other good restaurants serving Weißwurstfrühstück, coming here saves you time as it also allows you to experience this Augustina beerhall and to checkout the brewery (next door, forming part of the whole block of the street). I also stayed for lunch to meet my German friend who works nearby -- food is objectively good with authentic local flavours (but a tad salty and heavy for non-Germans). Overall a great experience, and I love the maß of Dunkel way more than the Weissbier (but am biased in favour of darker beer in general). The crowd here is much more local and the experience a lot better (not as staged / touristy) compared to the Hofbräuhaus.

There’s only one thing to say: you gotta try the 1/2 pig knuckle. It’s pretty dang tasty and not only is the meat tender and juicy, but the skin is crispy and delicious. A variety of beer to choose from and the beer hall atmosphere makes it fun. It seems as though it’s what’s crowded, so be aware of that if you’re going in a bigger group. Truly one of the best meals I had during my stay in Germany.

Nice place, good beer, food and environment. We booked a table during Oktoberfest opening and even it was very full the waiters where very fast taking our orders. Not too expensive neither. Very recommended

Food and beverages were delivered very fast, especially given the high occupancy. Staff was calm and friendly. Food quality was very good

The restaurant is not very discreet since it has no windows overlooking into the street. Once you walk into the entrance though, it gets quite noisy. The place looks like a giant warehouse with long picnic tables with chairs and benches. You seat yourself anywhere you can find open seating. The atmosphere is very lively and loud. We ordered the 1/2 portion of the pork knuckle, roast pork, and sauerkraut. The 1/2 pork knuckle was the size of hand! The meat was super soft and tender. The crust was super crispy and crunchy. The crust was a bit salty so I broke it apart and allowed for it to sit in the gravy. The gravy made the pork skin less salty and the skin kept its crunchiness. I would highly recommend someone to just try this dish but maybe share with another person.

I enjoyed the Wiener Schnitzel and the beer. However, the ambiance was quite noisy, and cleanliness was an issue, as we found ourselves clearing away previous customers' empty bottles. This might have been because we chose our own table rather than waiting to be seated. The dim lighting and decor evoked the feel of an old German pub, and some customers were dressed in traditional clothing. The taste of the food was decent but not extraordinary, and the variety was limited. The dishes were served quickly, indicating they might be pre-made in large quantities. The portion sizes were generous, something to keep in mind. We also ordered dessert, which was both large and quite satisfying.

Fun atmosphere, great for a big group. Staff was very friendly. I got a Viennese fried chicken cutlet which was dryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy like shoe leather. Would not recommend this dish.

Locally Baverian-styled cusines for not only tourists but also locals, there is always full of people to have a drink or some local food to enjoy just several stops away from the Munich HBF. Even locals highly recommended the restaurant for us, where we ordered pork shoulder served with Baverian dumplings, smoked salmon with salad, and another salads😂, which we just wanted to take in some vegetables😆. As for what we ordered, the pork shoulder itself tasted crunchy outside and smoothly inside, the Baverian dumplings were made of potatoes and dough, unlike traditional dumplings we had in Asia before, there was nothing inside! What's more, there is menu in English which you may well scan the QR CODE on the menu in restaurant if you can't read in German!

Great traditional restaurant right in the centre of Munich! The inside is huge and there’s a hidden beautiful garden as well. The menu consists of typical German/regional cousin and beer. The prices are fair.

We ate here for a work event and sat at large round table which was great! The food was really great and it was really busy. The service was ok they got our orders wrong on the drinks but we just took them to save hassle. Overall it was a great time and I would go again.

Great place a few tram stops away from Karlsplatz. One of the best meal we have had in Munich during our trip. The waiters do not expect us to tip unlike some other places we went. 10/10 recommend

Cool beer hall with great decor. We grabbed a late breakfast / early lunch here before heading to the airport. Good selection of beers and food. The Bavarian style cream cheese with pretzel was a great light meal. They offer pretzels for that table as well which each cost about 1.50 euro.

Traditional German beer house serving hearty German fare and strong beers. Perfect to chill when the weather outside is cold. We came on a weekday afternoon and the place was packed. Luckily, a table cleared as soon as we entered. Atmosphere is nice (almost Christmassy in May), with a lot of crackling guests. Service is friendly and efficient. We ordered the following - 1) Bratenpfandl - Delicious roast pork knuckle. Crunchy and lots of meat. Served with German mash potato, which is more gooey and chewy compared to its American cousin. 2) Wuerstlpfanderl - Sausage served on a bed of mash potato. This was another filling dish. Comes with tomatoes, fried onions and pork.

Easy to recommend; it's got a classic beer hall vibe, the beers are great, the menu has Bavarian classics, and the food comes out quick. The schweinebraten may have been one of my favorite bites to eat while in Munich. I went around lunch or early afternoon on a Sunday and it was very quiet and easy to get a seat. Can't speak to other times of day. It's not a far walk from the Hauptbanhof, if you're in the area.

This taproom has amazing food, pictured is the onion steak (mind blowing good), and the beer is the best in town. There are many open tables during the week, easy to seat yourself or ask for a large group. Best beer in town, easily, and go to the Augustiner Keller nearby on the other side of the train station to experience the best Biergarten in Munich.

A very typical Bavarian restaurant with cozy and cheerful atmosphere. One side is a formal dining hall. Another side is a Oktoberfest style of setting with long tables. It’s very popular among locals. Make sure to make a reservation. The beer is very tasty. The food is a bit salty to my taste. The service is friendly and welcoming. It could be too loud if that is a concern.

A great place to grab lunch. The sausage 659, sauerkraut and mash potatoes were amazing. The veggie plate and schnitzel were also welcomed at the table. I would recommend if you are in the area.

One of the best fine meals I had in München. Beer was incredible and the huge plate of meats and potato dumpling got me set for the entire day. If you’re in München, you have to go.

Best crispy pork knuckles (schweinshaxe) in München, generously served with potato dumplings, dark beer gravy (saurkaut in addition). Well accompanied by a litre of original Augustiner beer in the most traditional Brauhaus-style restaurant with an Oktoberfest atmosphere. We did not book so were crammed in with other people, but they were very friendly. The Kellner tried to speak English and was helpful. The place is walkable from the main Hbf. Else tram no 18 passes this.

I didn't have a reservation but staff was so nice. They helped to find the table which we can sat in 1 hr. before reserved customer. Loved it that we can order half of porkshank here but food was too salty for me. On the other hand, my friend liked their beer so much. Wanna try white sausage if we have more time later.

Classic Bräustube with excellent Bavarian food specialties. The Schweinshaxe is crispy & delicious. The Bavarian plate allows you to sample a bit of everything. It was enough for 2 to share. The beer doesn’t get anymore fresh and they serve it directly from the wooden kegs. Reservations recommended.

Service was good and friendly. Even had an English menu. Ordered a typical German meal. Service was fast. When it’s raining they don’t have service outside

Nice place to eat some Bavarian traditional food and drink best Bavarian beer 🍺. I didn't need reservation on working days but for weekend you need to have one. Food is good and tasty, I strongly recommend to go here and take a break of exploring Munich. It isn't to much expensive.

Just down the street from the Hbf (central station), so I stopped by before checking into the hotel for a late lunch and several beers. A lively, German atmosphere though of course a bit touristy (myself included). There are a lot of servers walking around but only a few seemed slammed and doing all the work. Food is made quickly and of the southern German style. Beer options are impressive, with several of their styles available at three different sizes. This is the restaurant connected to the large brewery (which didn’t seem open to the public), so hopefully it’s as fresh as it gets.

I recently visited this typical German restaurant with a unique Octoberfest-style beer hall and had a fantastic experience. The restaurant had a great selection of German dishes, including vegan options, and the bretzels were the best we tried during our trip to Germany. The service was friendly and attentive, and we enjoyed the cozy atmosphere. The highlight of our meal was the dessert, which was freshly made and tasted incredible. The prices were reasonable, and we paid about 25€ per person for a satisfying meal. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a unique and delicious dining experience. The food was fantastic, the service was top-notch, and the postee dessert was a real treat. Don't miss out on this gem!
