Best of the best: very elegant restaurant without any sheshee: delicious light and incredibly tasty dishes; service very polite, tactful and discreet. They never ever appeared with the clumsy and crude interruption they use in many german restaurants even in the so called top tens: “hots gschmeckt” - it is a great place. We will definitely come back - note: make your reservation well in advance; demand is high and they do work with waiting lists.

I thoroughly enjoyed my experience at Atelier and would greatly recommend stoping by if you live in München or are just visiting. It is a two-star Michelin Restaurant and is in a closed off room which gives it a more inclusive feeling adding to the atmosphere of the place. The service was very good, the staff treated us wonderfully and operated professionally. The food was definitely delicious with three different options in courses, 5, 6, and 7. My party took the 7 course menu and it did not disappoint. Everything on the menu at least tasted good. There was nothing that gave off a negative flavor. This place is definitely worth a visit and please stop by if you can, the 7 course menu is €275 and the 6 course is €265. So it would be a waste not to try the 7 course.

When you visit a restaurant with a Michelin star rating, you have some expectations. Usually, we have too high expectations and are often disappointed by the food or service that is not good enough for the price. This restaurant is different. You will stick to the basics from start to finish, but focus on every dish. When eating a course meal, it often gets boring toward the end when the food's storytelling or variety is lacking. But this restaurant injected tension into every dish. There was never a dull moment. I believe chef has abundant experience with international cousins and applies freely to his delicately prepared dish. Also, Wine pairing was so special. Personally, I haven't had much experience with German wine, so it may be a novelty for me, but it matches perfectly with the food. If I ever visit Munich again, I'll be sure to come back here to this restaurant.

Behind the minimal and simplistic decor and ambiance lies a creative chef who astonished his guest with beautiful dishes. Make no mistake, it is not only about form here but the food is equally tasteful. Well deserved 3 Michelin stars. Service was competent, charming and attentive

Great service, experience and outstanding / creative food dishes as well as wine list! The 3 Michelin Stars and other awards are well deserved. Great for a business dinner, date or just to enjoy the food. Update 2021: 2nd visit and still fantastic. Thanks to the team!

Most likely the best food experience in our life... Again! This is the second time we are lucky enough to enjoy the fabulous food of the chef Gschwendtner. Please, be aware, this is not your next door restaurant! Every bite is a wonder and is only outperformed by the next one. All different proteins (fish, octopus, poultry, etc) were extremely well handled (cooked or raw but marinated/seasoned). The wine which was suggested by the sommelier (Pouilly-Fuissé) sure went well with our different plates. If only I were a Michelin reviewer...

Wonderful experience. The service is absolutely phenomenal and the food is very nice variation of French kitchen influenced by Asian flavours. The wine menu is extensive and features some wonderful gems. Overal. While quite expensive this is a wonderful experience when you're in Munich

The best restaurant we've ever been to and we've seen a lot. The food is experimental and artistically presented, yet I believe that the taste of their dishes would appeal to anybody. The service was highly professional and warm at the same time. The venue looks chic and calming and the chairs are very comfortable. Every penny is worth this experience, especially if you consider that we ordered the six dish course but were served eleven dishes in total as a treat. We will surely become regulars.

We were in Munich Germany to celebrate my brother-in-law’s 30th birthday at Oktoberfest. After two days of debauchery, we thought we would spend some time doing what we love doing most, eating at some of the finest restaurants in the world. Atelier was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we walked in, the ambience, the service, and not to mention the food was phenomenal. we even threw the staff and the chef a curveball where one of our guests on our reservation is vegetarian and apparently they were not aware. They pivoted extremely quickly and were able to accommodate with no problem. Each bite was incredible and we would highly recommend anyone who is taking the Michelin star journey to try this place out because it is a must. Hats off and compliments to the chef.

We celebrated my husband’s 35th birthday last night in Atelier. We went for the 7 course meal with wine pairing. The food was absolutely delicious! Every item was distinctively different from the other. The sauces were the soul of the dishes, adding different dimension to the dishes. When we arrived we were offered Champagne, with some Amuse-bouche. Then we had an amazing tomato butter with fresh bread. And then we moved to the tasting menu. Yes definitely a pocket pinching experience. And every single additional item adds to the bill. The 7 course tasting menu was 275 Eur. Wine Pairing was an additional 137 eur. But, it’s one of the most popular restaurants in Munich and features in World’s top restaurants list. My Husband got a special cake from the chef. Thank you so much Chef Auton for this gesture! Our evening was very special!

It was a fantastic experience both visual and emotional. Tastes of all dishes were really delicious and all dishes have a story combining many different foods. Wine list is very rich and most important point is price performance ratio is high and a reacheable Michelin Star restaurant. Strongly recommended, don’t forget to book as it is a small and elegant restaurant.

What can I say except that it's a near perfection moment

  • 5/5 George P. 6 months ago on Google
Excellent food, wine and service, only downside that there are no windows in the restaurant, however atmosphere/ Ambiente was done maximizing feeling of comfort (eg colors, lighting). Exceeded expectations with regards of service (including professionalism, politeness and friendliness). Sometimes a little less attention to the customers would provide them a bit more privacy: maybe team could be trained to find the most appropriate timing for approaching the table for refilling wine or water. Clearly, only very minor issue, basically almost no room for improvement. “Surprises”, ie additional courses, were thoroughly planned and highly appreciated, gave us the feeling of being treated as valued customers. Looking forward to going back.

The entire experience was amazing (artistic display and delictable combinations of each different course, wine pairing, wait staff, decor, and ambience). It seems they should be designated as 3 Michelin Star Restaurant instead of only 2. I highly recommend Atelier!

Ein großes Kompliment an Anton Gschwendtner und sein Team für ein wunderschönes kulinarisches Erlebnis mit perfekter Wein-/Himbeerbierbegleitung im Atelier.

Fantastic seven course meal with unparalleled service. We enjoyed every part of the meal but we were especially impressed with the service, which we felt was the best we’ve received in many Michelin dining trips. We especially appreciated Julian, our head server, for making this experience feel extra special!

You are artists. I am probably not the best person to provide feedback. It would be like asking an uneducated person to give a review on Einstein’s general theory of relativity. Still, for what it’s worth: I adore attention to details and your restaurant amazed me. Needless to say, it was delicious and well balanced. I also really appreciate you putting the effort into catering for our personal preferences. We will meet again. Stay sharp.

Overall the food & service was great. It would’ve been 5 stars if only the experience with the sommelier was better. First interaction was when I asked for the restroom, he gave me a straight face and said “but the first course is coming up”, sounding like I shouldn’t go, I said I’ll be quick and he didn’t respond. The second interaction was when I made a polite comment saying 1 of wine pairings was slightly off as it made the wine very dry and acidic, and wondering if there’s another pairing. He didn’t look impressed and said the pairing is elegant, I further explained myself and he asked me what I’m looking for. I said maybe something smoother or softer, he then brought me a glass of port wine or some sort which was very sweet, and this was for a main course which was odd for a pairing like that. At that moment I just left it as it is as the sommelier didn’t seem to be happy with what I said. I respect a sommelier’s professionalism but I just hope he had a better attitude given it’s a Michelin restaurant.

It’s a very nice restaurant with only 10 tables . It’s located in a hotel and the service was very good of course . We ordered for each person 7 courses and 1 glass champagne 1 glass white wine , didn’t drink much as we need to drive home . It was 320 euro per person . Then they have the valet parking to0,30 euro for 3 hours . It was not cheap but it was a good experience that I can only recommend! They also have many greetings from the kitchen

Some dishes were outstanding, some were good and one gave me food poisoning... Nothing was done nor offered by any of the staff or managers to make that incident in any way less unbearable when I was spending almost 2 hours in their bathroom reviewing the 6 course dinner I just had. We also had a 350 € bottle of wine with our menu which was already opened when it arrived at our table, so not opened in front of us and therefore also no possibility to retrieve the cork (I asked) which is always a nice souvenir to take when you drink a more special bottle of wine.

Amazing food. All of the staff was incredibly kind and attentive as well. A must visit while in Munich!

A very nice restaurant in a easy-finding location. Foods and service are great, we tried the 5 course menus as well as the A-la-carte menu, personally I love a-la-cart menu more because the flavors of the truffle soup, octopus and the sole fish were awesome. The only thing I couldn’t really enjoy was the cheese plate, but it’s more because I can’t get used to the strong smell of the goat cheese. All in all, it’s a good choice if you want to experience a Michelin 3 star restaurant.

This restaurant has really earned it's 3rd star. While being delicious and special it maintains it's down to earth qualities that allow you to enjoy great food with great service. They really have the details covered all the way to the personalized menus and the take away boxes. It was a great treat

One of the best food experiences I had in Munich. The atmosphere at the restaurant was great and everyone was so friendly.

Dinner was 1000euro for 2 people so that's got to factor into any decisions. We also only got 1 wine pairing. Many of the dishes were transcendent. Absolutely ethereal. But they lean quite a bit on the "pour in some broth on top of the dish" and as a result there's a repetitiveness to many of the dishes, a feeling that texture is different but taste differences are less pronounced. Cheese course seemed like an afterthought - we got a bunch of berkases of different ages that maybe to a mountain cheese expert palate would say are very different but to us it was all more or less the same. Wine pourings are super generous and the service is top. Obviously, for a place like this.
