It’s a beautiful, impressive statue, as the angel of the piece is watching the city of Munich. Unfortunately, much graffiti is on it, however, this sculpture would be amazing as it is. I can’t see the art in ruining a masterpiece. It’s a good place for relaxing, but it’s very popular among citizens and visitors.

The Angel of Peace is a part of the monument that stands in tribute to the 25 years of peace after the Franco-German war of 1870/71. The monument consists of an open courtyard with fountain. Two staircases lead to the observation deck and the crowning glory of the monument. The Angel of Peace sits atop a 38 metres high column and built in the Corinthian style. The sculpture is a copy of the Nike of Paeonius and depicts the goddess in descending flight. In her right hand, she extends a laurel leaf in a gesture of peace. In her left, she cups in a much smaller sculpture of Athena to symbolise the victory of peace over war.

A large column that holds a golden angel of Peace watching over Munich. it is based on a small like a temple with 4 Spartans on the corners. inside the small monument there's 4 paintings in the rocks representing war and peace. very amazing view and popular among Germans and tourists.

Very cool monument right by the Europaplatz - tall golden statue at the top on top of a square monument with golden mosaics. The monument area itself stands a bit taller than the other side of the river, allowing for perfect views.

A very beautiful place for relax to the body and soul. For the first, there are benches and trees that cover them from the sun, and for the second there is a stone observation platform, onto which you climb the stairs and at the foot of which there is a fountain. In the site itself, an arch is cut out from which a stone covered with greenery sticks out. And on the site there is an established column on top of which is a statue of Angel of the piece. This place can be called a "hidden gem" for a tourist who, making plans for this city, could miss such an interesting place for his eyes.

Beautiful and historic place , you can start a nice walk from there along the Isar River. If you visit Munich this place is one of the must see spots , also because from there you can start a nice long walk along the river but also towards Odeonsplatz. In summer there are many people sitting there and drinking , hanging out or when it gets dark watching the sunset. Before you go you should also read a little bit about it’s history so that you also understand where it came from. Also you can make nice pictures from there so you could take your (video) camera with you and do a little shooting , you can see people doing that there very often.

Great views of the broad avenue, Prinzregentenstrasse and the Isar, complete with numerous fountains and formal gardens on either side. The Friedensengel, the Angel of Peace, stands above Europaplatz atop a traditional 38 meter high Corinthian column. Built in 1899, the monument is a reminder of the 25 years of peace following the Franco-German war of 1870-71. The six meter tall bronze gilded statue at the top is a replica of the Nike of Paeonius. Interestingly, the statue fell from the top of the column in 1981. The significantly damaged bronze had both wings and leg replaced and was returned to the top of the column in 1983. The wings are now at a much steeper angle than the original.

At night the illuminated monument is an imposing sight and surprisingly lively with all the young people gathered for a beer and fun.

Cute. Nice place to chill in the evening. Too bad it's not allowed to climb up a bit. Not as beautiful as the Siegesäule in Berlin but worth a visit if you're in the area or walking along the Isar.

Great palce to relax and chill a little bit. It is also cool to see some cool cars driving around the stature, but it can be annoying for people, who are not as car enthusiastic.
