We had a wonderful time here for the four of us on a vacation. We needed 2 rooms which was unfortunate but being in the city center was well worth it. Location is amazing. Hands down best feature of this location - beer garden, shops, local farmers market, restaurants and access to amazing sites is worth the fee and effort. Roll out the door and you have so much to see. Staff was friendly but not overly engaging. Room service was top notch. Location is 4 stars no question. We kept windows open to keep room cool - local cathedral bells were loud in the am but that’s life - and you see more of a Munich in the early morning. Would totally stay here again.

Lovely hotel in the perfect location. Close to all the sights and transport links, opens out on to a beautiful little square with some great bars. Room was immaculate, would certainly come back.

Great costumer service! Very informative and very helpful! Room very spacious and clean. Elevated way to small because building is to old. Other then that decent hotel. Also great location!

Stayed here last week, they renovated a lot during the last couple of months. The rooms are cozy but modern and chic, everything is super clean and the atmosphere around the hotel is just beautiful. When I arrived, I took a little mid-day nap and the vibes coming from the tiny alley in front of my window made it feel like a small italian town. At the same time, some of Munics finest places are only a 5 minute walk away. Attached to the Hotel am Markt is also a georgous restaurant called „Laurin“ - treat yourself with a „Rababerschorle“ once you arrive ;) Perfect place to stay in Munich, I‘ll be back for sure!

This is the best location in Munich only steps from the Viktualienmarkt. The hotel is very clean and quiet. The staff were friendly and helpful. The single room was small but the double room was a good size. The breakfast was a great start to the day. There is no hotel parking but there are public lots nearby with overnight parking. The hotel is within easy walking distance of most the tourist sights in central Munich and the Ubahn stations. I would highly recommend a stay here.

Ive booked and payed a room for one with queen size bed, but was given the one with a small bed instead. And only was offered to get the one I have booked for an extra payment, despite of the proof of queen size bed in my payed booking. The hotel itself was clean and fine.

The hotel was exceptionally placed, super central and convenient to what we wanted. We had a VERY micro room which made it harder to enjoy when we were in the room, but luckily we did not spend much time there. The bathroom was really large though, so seems like some of that space was wasted and could have made the room more comfortable. Either way, recommend for a short stay in Munich- more than a couple of nights could have been tough given the room size

The room we got was cozy and modern. You can't beat the location right above the market and Marienplatz. Great place to rest while visiting Munich!

This hotel was unbeatable! I was traveling alone, and the single rooms are super clean, cozy, and safe; the value for the price was great; and the staff were incredibly kind. It's right in the middle of Munich Altstadt, so it can get noisy, but I personally wasn't bothered (and the location was awesome, with multiple restaurants surrounding it and close to all of the main tourist attractions). Perfect for solo travelers or a couple looking to spend the majority of their time in the city.

Beautiful old hotel at the edge of the Victualien Market. Cozy comfortable rooms with modern decor and bathroom. The only reason for the 3 star rating for the rooms is that it does not, like most older hotels in Germany, have air conditioning. The other draw back about the otherwise amazing location is that you don't have access to the hotel with your car. Not even to unload your luggage. We had to find a parking garage first (which offers a 50% discount for hotel guests) and carry our luggage the five minute walk to the hotel.

Great location , small but updated rooms will all amenities you need. No air conditioning, as typical in the area. They do have fans available.

Not recommended. Positive is location. Little other redeeming points. Staff is there but does not extend themselves to your needs; more like gatekeepers at the door. Breakfast at attached restaurant is an extra cost, with a fixed price for fixed meal at a fixed time. No flexibility. Rooms are ok but no air flow, old style radiators, no room refrigerator, no hot water for tea or coffee in room, small shower, awkward room design with twin beds. If English is your primary language, be aware that television has few English speaking stations. That’s it. Maybe this is what you want. I regret the choice.

Stayed here over the weekend. Hotel is OK except I didn't have hot water after 9pm we took cold showers 2 days in a row. The hotel bar/restaurant doesn't serve you drinks after 10pm? In general the hotel is ok just would have liked hot water.

Great location, clean and tidy. Stubbed my toe on the change in floor level from the bathroom to the bedroom, I was in agony! Hope nobody else has the same problem.

Does what it says on the tin. Location is excellent, just metres from Viktualienmarkt, Marienplatz and a quick walk to the Hofbräuhaus. Also McDonald’s, which is a lifesaver on a Sunday morning when nothing opens till ten! Rooms are functional and small but comfortable enough. The staff a bit supercilious, the lift laughably small — stick your bags in and run up the stairs to catch it — but would come back. Munich is a top town.

The best of this hotel is the location, very convenient to walk around. There are many stores, restaurants, chuches, museums, I loved the area. Rooms are very small, not air conditioner only fans, but the hotel is clean. I recommend to have only a small suitcase and or a back pack, if you go to this hotel, because cars can not go to the front door, you must walk about 1/2 block from the place where the taxi dropp you off. For the location, I will go back.

A Gem in Munich! Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ (5/5) I recently stayed at Hotel am Markt in Munich, and it was an exceptional experience. The location is unbeatable, right in the heart of the city. The rooms are stylish and comfortable, and the service is top-notch. The breakfast was delicious, and the courtyard is a hidden gem. I highly recommend this hotel for a memorable stay in Munich!

Great location. Easy going staff. Clean rooms. Bed was a little stiff.

The only consolation was the location. The staff were not friendly and rooms did not have any air conditioning. The fans were ok. There was no hot water the last day of our stay and they received several complaints from others as well but the staff was not interested in listening to us. He just didn't care. Since it is located in the market, It is very noisy in the night and early morning. The lift is very tiny just enough for 2 people and one large suitcase.

We are a family of 3, we stayed in one room and it was enough for us. Its location is very good, it is located in a high-quality and lively area; you can reach everywhere very easily. By the way, there are no refrigerators or coffee machines in the rooms, which was not a big deal for us. In short, it was an enjoyable stay for us.

We love this hotel. We are looking forward to returning in a few days. The very best location on Markplatz and close to some great bars and beer halls.

The location is very good. The staff is friendly. We booked a standard double and found the room to be smaller than expected -approx 11×12ft. The room is clean. The beds remind me of the mattresses in college. The bathroom only has a shower and basic amenities. Be advised that this is a location where there is much activity. If you have difficulty sleeping with a lot of street noise you may have an issue until everything closes. I did not see a/c cooling. There is a heater -but the evenings are very cool in August so you can open the window. Overall, if you need a place to stay for 1 night this could be an option for you.

Bit noisy. Mainly has a good location. And very clean. But too expensive for being so noisy.

Room was very small and walls extra thin. My neighbor was on the phone and it was like I was in his room

    Noisy in the mornings

The room did not look anything like the photo. It was smaller and completely different decor. It also did not have a phone or bottle water as advertised. It is also very loud. The double windows are great for blocking outdoor sound but you can hear everything from adjacent rooms then at 7am the cleaners start. For 130 euro a night it's disappointing.

Recently renovated this is a lovely hotel. Nice, comfortable rooms, and very close to the Christmas Market. Good location in Old Town Munich and very convenient. Breakfast is offered for an extra fee in the restaurant.

Very warm and friendly hotel as centrally located as possible in Munich. I've often visited this city but this was my first visit in this hotel and I will definitely use it from now on. Room was relatively small - compact, to be more diplomatic - but had everything you needed for a single room, was clean and bathroom was excellent. Overall, an excellent find and a memorable stay. Thanks to all the staff for a good visit
