Outside there were several free tables, the three waiters we approached were not helpful in finding a table for two people. Inside the service improved that's why this two star review rather than one star review. I work in hospitality and I have never given a bad review until now.

Waitresses only working at chasing customers from free tables, so they are sure of a tireless workday. The best spot for a bar owner and the worst crew hired. So sad for you.

The restaurant was beautiful directly overlooking the Marine Platz Square. I ordered a grilled salmon dish and grilled chicken with a soft drink 👌 Prices are acceptable as my bill amounted to approximately 50 euros, the service was slow and need improvement

Excellent food and beer for the beautiful area you get to dine in. Definitely eat outside in the marketplace if you can—great view. A bit pricier than other local establishments but it’s pretty obvious that they charge extra for the location and the tourists. Still fair I think.

Great location, just ok service, typical German food. Sausages and sauerkraut were good as was the beer. Location the best part of the meal. Would just suggest to have drinks outside here.

You can’t beat this location for a good beer and food when you are walking around Marienplatz - shady screens can keep the sun out your eyes and there is usually a good amount tables. I can’t believe the vivid flowers and if you make the 11am and moon you have the Glockenspiel clock show

A bit pricey here. Staff aren’t really very warm. Or maybe it’s just cultural differences. Nevertheless, the ambiance is amazing and lively. The food was ok. But then again, I don’t have any baseline to compare it with.

The portions are very small and quite ordinary in taste. The prices are prohibitively high. We just had a snack (one simple meal for each and one beer for each plus one simple dessert and one hot chocolate) and it costs us 80 euros. This is to much for such portions and such quality. But all this would be understandable, given the location, if not one BUT. We had a waiter who, in a rude manner, extorted tips of at least 10% from all his customers! We was shocked about that. At the same time, he forgot about our dessert and hot chocolate for several times. At such prices, such quality of service and also such extortion? We tried to leave him a couple of euros for a tip, he rudely returned them to us and said that he did not need this trifle. These are the restaurants and these are the waiters that spoil the impression of the city. I don't recommend to go there

Definitely NOT coming back. The place is so tight that if you sit back to back with a 2m tall person, one of you cannot get up from the chair. Food is very bad. The duck tasted like boiled dishes, the Schweinsbraten looked like leftovers. Portions so small, but city center prices. Looking at other people’s plates, it all looked so poor, so so random. Sorry I did not think to take pictures. At least the service was nice. For us. Cannot say the same for the guys sitting next to us.

The garden salad we ordered had bugs deep in the iceberg lettuce so it clearly had not been washed.

Ok food, good service, great view. Especially if you could come during summer or when you can sit outside, enjoy the view and looking at people and tourists strolling by. Mostly taking pictures of the notorous Marieplatz.

Avoid at all costs. As someone with experience in the service industry, this was one of the worst restaurant experiences ever. The basic human decency to be respectful was not even met. Waiter Adnan was extremely rude to us and the tables around us. He yelled at customers left and right, and at us for asking him to bring the bill and not wanting to pay in that same moment. He wanted to kick us out while not even being done with our drinks. If he needed the table, he could have come to our table faster to take our order, but alas he let us wait for 20 minutes. He kept physically moving the tables around - while we and our table neighbours were eating! They make you walk inside for payment, other waiters rudely pushing you to the side so that their clients can pay first. Have to pay attention that they do not tap your card twice - they do not let you do it yourself. What on earth is this place?

Ate here in June 2022/previous years. The schnitzel was decent, but nothing crazy. Have found better places in the city for it, this restaurant is more catered towards tourists who need a quick bite to eat in front of the Marienplatz.

We went for an early lunch on a cold rainy, slow day and it was great! Food was super fresh, cooked perfectly, staff was great. No complaints whatsoever!

This little bier garten in the hear of Marienplatz will not leave you disappointed! It is the perfect stop between shopping, sight seeing, and all other downtown activities. Our waiter was very kind and seated us immediately. We enjoyed several cocktails as we gazed at the beautiful Rathaus-Glockenspiel. Per the waiter's request after letting him know about my gluten allergy, he recommended the roasted salmon with fresh salad. It was the perfect meal that was light yet sufficient after a long day of walking. Don't forget to squeeze lemon on the dish! ;) Unbeknownst to us, people gathered with phones ready to record as the clock was about to strike 5 pm. As the clock struck and the bells/figurines began to twirl, Marienplatz fell so silent you could hear a pin drop. The entire "show" was about 15 minutes and we happened to have one of the best seats in the house (our view from the table is attached). If you're looking for a quick but delicious meal in the center of Marienplatz, I highly recommend you give this place a whirl. P.S. We tried to use the restroom here but learned we had to pay... We were told it's "standard" in Germany but this was the only place that required payment for usage during our 2 week trip. Just FYI!

We stopped here on our trip to Germany. We sat by the door and enjoyed a great meal and beer while we people watched. The food was great as well as the service. Definitely going back!

We visited the place for evening snacks and drinks. We ordered Hot chocolate,Eis coffee and Chicken nuggets with Pommes. The hot chocolate and chicken nuggets with Pommes were okay however the Eis coffee was a disaster.

Since its in the center of the Munich the prices are a little to higher than expected from that restaurant. You can find better dishes with the same in other restaurants the only downside its that they are not in the center of the city. But this it was good for a quick snack and for the view of the city i would say its worthy.

This kitchen should seriously contemplate the idea of permanently closing its doors. Frankly, I’m baffled by how it manages to stay afloat – it must be thanks to the servers and prime location, because when it comes to food offerings, especially for vegetarians, this place is huge disappointment. I didn’t set foot in here with high hopes, and we made the most cautious, least adventurous choices to avoid disappointment. However, this place not only met my low expectations but managed to drag them even further into the abyss. The mere act of trying to consume the food was a huge task, and all we ordered were a Kaiserschmarrn, pizza, and hot chocolate. I’ve had better hot chocolate from vending machines on the U-Bahn for just a euro. My sincere recommendation? Consider throwing your money into the wind instead of dining at this establishment and inadvertently encouraging them to continue producing subpar food. If, by some chance, the restaurant staff stumble upon this review, please, for the love of all things culinary, just refrain from preparing food. Stick to serving Beer and Fries (you can buy those from the store and just fry them). Because if you persist in concocting your own dishes, you risk causing permanent culinary trauma and shattering people’s trust in Bavarian cuisine. Spare us, for the sake of humankind, from this culinary calamity.

Terrible service, unenthousiasted waiters and expensive prices. When I paid I did not plan on tipping. The waitress, however, had different ideas and just walked off with my change after I paid, just claiming a tip they definitely didn't deserve Do not go here, there are enough different places.

No word of a lie, I just finished running the Munich marathon and I struggled to finished the food. It was the most disgusting pizza I have ever eaten and I paid €14 for the privilege. Vile.

You stop here for the atmosphere, right in front of the Glockenspiel. Watched the midday running of it and had lunch as well. White sausages are a bit underwhelming, but the story behind them is interesting.

Great place. Was seated by the door, it was fine, they have discount price for beer at those seats. Can definitely recommend the wooden barrel draft. Great weiner schnitzel. Very friendly staff.

Second time that I ask for a rare rump steak and they do it well done. The backed potato was awful as well, it seemed to be done on microwave. Just a tourist trap.

I came only to drink a beer. I was told, it's not possible to order only a beer. You have to order the food, to get a beer. It's absurd. Prices around 50% higher, than any other restaurant like this and trust me, I visited four different restaurants that day

amazing location, however staff are very rude and unprofessional. we asked for hot drinks and the waiter complained saying she does not serve hot drinks and that we can go somewhere else. turns out they DO serve hot drinks but she was unwilling to make us any. overall would never come here again.

If you don't find place in tent during Oktoberfest then you should visit this pkace. The 🍺beer & food was excellent. Only the problem is that the waiter don't have enough time to Handel everyone.

⚠️ Awful. We were a group of 2 and were asked to move as we sat at a table set for 4, despite there being multiple free tables for 4. Ridiculously overpriced - about 13€ for a litre of Radler. Save yourself the €€€ and take 3 steps over to Rischart: also in Marienplatz, much more attentive/lovely staff and decent prices.
