My
friend
and
I
were
in
Athens
alone
in
mid-November.
The
goal
was
to
get
to
know
Greece
better
from
a
historical
point
of
view.
November
and
winter
are
not
a
tourist
time
for
Athens
at
all;
for
me
it
is
a
perfectly
comfortable
temperature
for
walking
and
a
complete
absence
of
crowds
of
tourists.
I
chose
excursions
on
the
spot
at
random
using
Google
maps,
which
turned
out
to
be
a
very
difficult
task
in
non-tourist
times.
I
talked
to
many
people,
I
can
tell
you
right
away.
I
chose
these
guys
because
I
liked
them
the
most,
“my
heart
was
at
ease”
and
because
the
excursion
schedule
suited
our
dates
best.
It
is
worth
noting
that
initially
we
really
wanted
to
go
to
Meteora,
but
there
were
no
one-day
excursions
everywhere
(mostly
2),
or
we
were
immediately
told
that
there
were
not
enough
tourists
to
make
the
trip.
The
"Russian
Guide
in
Athens"
had
this
route
on
the
schedule,
although
we
were
also
warned
that
the
group
might
not
be
able
to
gather.
After
a
preliminary
conversation
in
the
messenger,
we
chose
an
excursion
to
Argolis
(a
very
interesting
historical
route).
When
we
arrived
at
the
place
to
pay
for
our
first
trip,
it
immediately
became
obvious
that
we
were
not
mistaken
in
choosing
the
organizers:
they
told
us
everything
about
all
the
excursions,
very
adequately
and
without
imposing
anything,
they
told
us
about
Athens,
about
the
Greeks,
about
the
upcoming
demonstrations
(google
November
17
in
Athens),
about
all
the
intricacies
of
the
first
visit
to
Greece,
treated
us
to
real
Greek
coffee
and
just
warmly
talked
to
us
with
almost
the
whole
family.
Honestly,
we
didn’t
want
to
leave,
the
atmosphere
was
so
warm!
The
trip
to
Argolis
frankly
exceeded
all
our
expectations.
The
guide
immersed
us
all
the
way
in
the
history
of
Ancient
Greece
and
answered
questions
that
arose.
In
the
company
of
a
group
of
only
10
tourists
(buses
carry
50
people
each
during
the
season),
we
visited:
the
Corinth
Canal,
Mycenae,
Nafplion,
Epidaurus.
We
made
stops
everywhere,
where
we
were
first
told
the
story,
and
then
given
enough
free
time
to
walk,
take
photos,
and
explore
everything
on
our
own.
We
really
enjoyed.
Until
the
last
moment
we
did
not
know
whether
the
trip
to
Meteora
would
be
realized.
And
on
the
very
last
evening,
the
required
number
of
people
had
gathered,
which
the
organizers
immediately
informed
us
about.
Our
joy
knew
no
bounds.
The
excursion
turned
out
to
be
almost
individual:
6
participants
+
driver,
+
guide,
who
turned
out
to
be
a
professor
at
the
Department
of
History
of
Ancient
Greece.
I
felt
like
a
student
at
a
lecture
by
a
teacher
who
really
loves
what
he
does
and
strives
with
all
his
heart
to
share
his
knowledge.
I
asked
just
a
million
questions
and
received
the
most
interesting
answers
to
all
of
them.
It's
a
pleasure
to
drive
like
this.
We
visited
the
site
of
the
battle
of
Leonidas
and
the
300
Spartans
and
Meteora
with
breathtaking
views.
It
is
surprising
that
monasteries
were
also
built
on
these
rocks.
I
would
like
to
draw
special
attention
to
the
fact
that
the
organizers
were
always
in
touch
and,
in
addition
to
everything
related
to
excursions,
always
answered
some
current
questions
from
typical
tourists
who
came
to
the
country
for
the
first
time:
“what
bus
goes
there?”
,
“Where
can
I
buy
the
best
seafood?”,
“Where
can
I
try
real
gyros?”
-
this
is
priceless
and
for
this
I
would
like
to
say
a
huge
THANK
YOU
from
the
bottom
of
my
heart!
I
attached
the
photos
in
the
order
they
were
mentioned
in
the
review,
but
Google
still
confused
them,
if
you
want,
read
the
description
under
each
one.
