I was going to rate it only 4 stars because I was disappointed it was not a chicken but a rooster. However, the craftsmanship of this chicken monument is superb, and gives the park a nice artistic vibe. It would be nice if it had some sort of plaque with a brief description of the sculptor and its historical relevance as contrasted with Maastricht social and cultural aspects.

Bigger than I expected! Reading the reviews I was expecting a tiny chicken, but it turned out to be a huge rooster! 10/10 would visit again next time in Maastricht.

What a beautiful sculpture, we were looking forward to see this rooster when we came to Maastricht, and one thing is sure, we haven't been disappointed. One of the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life. If you come across it, enjoy because it is a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

I crossed the road and found the chicken. I am so glad that I travelled all the way from California to see this hen. A highlight of the Netherlands, for sure.

“The” experience to live when going to Maastricht

I was looking forward to seeing this monument as part of my journey to Maastricht. I was expecting a monument similar to the Manneken Pis in Brussels; however, instead I saw a monument that did not even look like a chicken. Nevertheless I enjoyed seeing it, but I think it would be better if there were to be water coming out of the statue, and some plaque of why this monument was made. Anyways, enjoy looking at this chicken
