長岡市のシンボルの1つ。旧中島配水塔です。登録有形文化財です。大手大橋から見える配水塔は特徴的な外観もあり目立ちます。旧白根市、燕市と並び貴重な産業遺産ですね。近くで見ると迫力を感じました。残念ながら中には入れません。

水道公園は、長岡市のシンボル、赤い帽子の水道タンクが目印です。今の季節は、新緑に映えとても綺麗です。信濃川に沿って周辺を歩くのも気持ち良いです。

少しですが遊具があります。ベンチ、テーブルもあります。展望台のような高台の下はトイレがあります。その高台は芝生になっていて段ボールでも持っていけば丁度いい滑り台です。駐車場は平日はサラリーマンの休憩場のようです。
