do not stay at this hotel. the service was bad and unreasonable. I booked a room for two people for two nights with a breakfast plan under the Hopper app. when I arrived at the hotel, the hotel staff INSISTED that their system only shared a booking for one person for two nights with NO breakfast plan. After much discussion and even after showing them my booking on the app which clearly writes moderate double room with breakfast plan, the manager still refused to provide us breakfast and insisted that the system did not show them this booking and hence they cannot provide us with the breakfast and we had to pay an extra 6000 yen for the second person in addition. this is our second stay at this hotel and we are EXTREMELY disappointed with the poor service and inflexibility of the hotel.

Perfect location 5 minutes walk without leaving the interconnected buildings around Nagoya station. Very modern and elegant hotel. Slightly small rooms but high ceilings offset any sense of being cramped. Excellent views of the city. Our room overlooks the train station but we weren't disturbed by the noise. Very comfortable beds. Bathroom includes partitioned bath and shower "wet room". Deep bath and great rain head shower. Everything's controlled by a tablet with an English interface. Our room rate included buffet breakfast (¥3200) which is excellent. Charming and attentive staff.

Connected to Nagoya Station through the shopping mall. No worries about sun or rain. Plenty of restaurants at the same block of the hotel at 12th and 13th Floors, JR Gate Tower. Restaurant coupons offered by the Hotel enable you to get 10% off the bill. Room was clean, hygienic and spacious. View overlooking the city and rail tracks. Room not sound proof even staying at the 23rd floor. You can hear the train coming and going all the time. Nagoya was a busy station. Hotel staff was very strict. We arrived at the lobby at quarter past two. No allowance for early checkin.

Management didn't prepare well for the holidays. Long lines for check-in (30-40 mins. Wait)! Rooms are good and cozy. Amenities are good... I liked the espresso machine and the beauty amenities. Free Parking. But the view from the room given to us sucked big time. Big disappointment... I wished we should have book at Marriott instead (located on the other tower). We availed of the breakfast buffet but I think it's not worth the money. For 2,500 yen it's the same food selection with other cheaper or budget hotels. I think some other hotels even offer more, even domy inn offers eel and free ice cream! It's a rip off with minimum menu selection. Better skip it. You just pay for the ambiance and the location. Also, the management is unreliable. We bought the breakfast coupon the day before and offered to pay on that day. But they said we can pay it on the next day. But when we are about to pay upon check-out they want us to instead go to the restaurant to pay there. But the restaurant people wanted to charge us 2,700. We said for guests who bought the meal the day before it's supposed to be 2,500 only. The restaurant staff are all clueless on what to do! It's so freaking simple and yet we waited 20 mins. for them to settle it. We waited because it's unfair for us to be troubled already and yet we have to pay more for their mistake. They apologized after but our time got wasted. They should train their staff better and prepare better for special holidays. Not coming back here. You won't get the full value of your pay.

Don't stay on train track side. Jackhammering from construction off and on during the day and night until 2:30am. Unable to communicate with front desk due to very poor communication skills which is surprising given large number of international visitors.

January 22 - January 23, 2023. Superior Twin Room - Non-Smoking This place is perfect. Great amenities. Wonderful service and arguably the most convenient location in Nagoya. Will be staying here again with my family next time I visit Japan. Their hotel lobby was on the 15th floor, where you'll be greeted with a classy ambience which includes a professional pianist playing in the background, the smell of fine dining from their restaurant, along with a modern skyline view (from huge glass panels reaching ~10 - 15 meters high!) above the city. For less than 200 USD you'll never be able to find this in the United States. I thought the lobby would be the showstopper, but it didn't end there. The rooms were also very clean, modern and well equipped with a lot of complimentary items. Items included coffee, tea, a lot of water bottles, bath salts for their bath, various scented soaps and many more nice to have bathroom consumables. The room and lobby weren't even the best parts of the stay. Just underneath the hotel on the 13th floor down you have countless restaurants to pick from down to the 12th floor. From the 11th to 1st floor you'll also have countless shops to visit which made shopping convenient. You can buy something, bring it back up to your room and repeat. All while not having to carry too much at one time. Dope place for a short stay.

Prepare those calves for the longest walks to the lobby ever. First couple of times it was fun because it’s luxurious but after a day it gets boring real quick. Although you’re in the JR Gate complex you’re shoved pretty far away. No hooks in the rooms made it inconvenient, buffet was quite decent but gets packed

We found ourselves in need of a hotel in Nagoya after missing the last Shinkansen to Tokyo, and I must say that I was absolutely amazed by the quality of the room, staff, and location. Despite the reasonable price, we were delighted to discover a relatively spacious room (by Japanese standards) equipped with various cutting-edge technologies, such as a tablet for controlling the room. The view from the hotel, situated on the 15th floor and above, was simply breathtaking. Despite its prime location atop Nagoya Station, it was very quiet in the room. The hotel's proximity to numerous shopping and dining options added to its appeal. Considering it is a hotel located within a train station, it exceeded all my expectations. I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for anyone staying in Nagoya! JR Rail Pass holders may be eligible for a rebate at this hotel, ask the staff about it.

Room size was just nice for my husband and I. The view was incredible and the location is superb, right above the Nagoya station. It took awhile to find as the lobby is on the 15th floor of the JR Gate Tower. Overall great value for the room.

Though I mainly used Meitetsu railway and subway to commute on my trip, it took less than 5 minutes to the gates from the hotel which was still quite convenient to me. There's a Bic Camera and two clothing stores open until 9pm or even late in the same building where you can shop and kill time at night. A kiosk selling souvenirs, snacks and beverages also opens until 10pm on the hotel lobby level. Modern and clean room, with all the necessary amenities. Since there're other tall buildings nearby and I guess the view of the rooms depend. I was able to enjoy parts of the city view via the gaps between the buildings. Friendly staff, communication in English is not a problem.

Location is very convenient, just near the JR station. Reception staff are nice and friendly. The room is new and the view is great. Not to mentioned that there is a coffee machine in the room to have a nice coffee in the morning, which is free of charge. Definitely will come this hotel during my next trip in Nagoya.

My friend and I shared a twin-bed room for 4 nights in June 2023. Everything about this hotel is excellent: location, service, staff professionalism and helpfulness, decor, room cleanliness, space, window, view (exceptional and very important to beat claustrophobia in Japanese hotel room), and price. The only obstacle that stops us from using this Nagoya JR Gate Tower hotel again in the future is the BED. Specifically, the saggy mattress. It sinks and bulge downwards in the middle. We were surprised to find it a Simmons mattress. (I use Simmons at home too for over 15 years and it still supports me well.) Both our single beds appear to be the same, saggy and too soft. My friend and I suffered sore back after the stay. I hope the hotel would replace their mattresses so that we could stay there again as I really like this hotel.

Great hotel that is located at Nagoya JR. It is also located above Takashimya.

Sleek, modern and comfortable hotel right atop the Nagoya JR/Shinkansen station. Easy access all over the city, and a comfortable place to relax between trips out. With the mall and dozens of restaurants just a short escalator ride away, everything one would need is right there.

Zimmer etwas klein, aber schön eingerichtet. Das Frühstück ist absolute Weltklasse, da ist für jeden etwas dabei!

This hotel is conveniently located on top of several subways, bus station, shinkansen and JR lines, so going anywhere is super convenient. The room is clean, cosy, and comfortable and the view (if you aren't on the track side) looks out over the business district with its bright signboards and lights. Due to the limited space, we kept our everyday necessities in one of the many drawers and you can even wear the provided robes if you don't want to bring your pyjamas. Overall a pleasant stay although it would be nice if coin laundry facilities were available. It would also be helpful if they had helped bring up the luggage to our room we had delivered via Yamato beforehand instead of asking us to collect it ourselves. Nevertheless, a small issue and we'd certainly be back to stay if we ever come back to Nagoya.

Excellent and modern hotel. Very convenient as the hotel is located on top of Nagoya station. Rooms are average size but clean and modern. The room view was amazing as we could see Nagoya Castle. Would recommend purchasing the breakfast buffet as the food was delicious. Lots of shops and restaurants located on the lower levels. Front desk personnel were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended this hotel if you need to stay in central Nagoya region.

The location is prime and central. Connectivity via shinkansen, JR trains, subway, and bus terminus are all below the hotel. So is shopping mall Takashimaya and countless F&B options. The room is clean and comfortable but tight on space. Breakfast is very good too, and I would recommend trying it. Our only negative experience was that the hotel staff said they did not receive payment for our room when we used our debit card to settle over the counter. We were ditected to a self payment kiosk at the check-in counter to make payment before our room card keys could be activated. Our card was debited, but the hotel staff said their records show the "payment failed." So, we needed to pay the hotel again and wait for the card issuer to reverse the first transaction. Very unfortunate incident where we are out of pocket for double the amount...😥. Hope that the card issuer/merchant will be able to effect a reversal of the additional debit in due course within the next 2 weeks.

Fantastic hotel! The room was clean, the staff are very polite. I stayed on the 24th floor, the view was excellent. I was surprised with the quality of the elevators, they are very fast and have lots of room for luggage. Definitely one of the best hotel experiences I’ve had.

Excellent location, friendly front clerk and very clean. Perfect location when visiting Nagoya. Room was perfectly set. Not a deal breaker but much appreciated the fact TV had several international channels in various language more than just BBC and CNN.

Stayed 4 nights. Great location. A good size room, though it appears the corner rooms (which we had) are more generous in size. Even space for our 4 large cases. Excellent bathroom and great views. For train buffs, great spotting too but you could hear the local trains click-clack at night, even on L23. Staff extra caring and helpful.

Great hotel and excellent location. Very good service and clean rooms which are very new. There is a touch panel by the bedroom which allows guests to control the lights as well as check other things. It's rare when these are incorporated well at hotels in Japan and they have done a nice job here.

Excellent location right above JR Nagoya Station. Views from the hotel given its height is unbeatable. Shops and restaurants and right below the hotel and there's a convenient store near its entrance. You do not need to step out of the building for supplies. Rooms are spacious, clean and come with many amenities such as Bath salts and ear plugs. Beds are likewise comfortable, a special beaded pillow can be requested from the reception. You can see and hear the trains running from the rooms, which adds to the charm of the place.

It is located at a spot where convenient to all kinds of railway transportations, to a lot of different types of restaurants and to many many shopping places. And the room was very clean. But the front desk was mean as to request one hour late check out was rudely rejected given we stayed in 4 nights. So it was good but not a perfect ending.

Best hotel I've stayed in to date. The view is amazing, it's right next to the main train station, and it's built on top a huge shopping complex with lots of different shops and restaurants. The rooms are rather spacy (by Japan standards), especially the bath. They are well kept and feature a lot of nice and modern amenities. Very much recommended.

Situated within the shopping district and right by Nagoya station, this hotel scores high in accessibility. Clean and well-designed rooms. Like most city hotels in Japan, rooms tend to be small. Value for money. Great view of the city!

Clean, neat, prime location, room layout was well thought out, helpful service, nice view from the room. Lights were controlled by a tablet which was cool. Seems like a nice business hotel with good rates, but also very convenient and affordable for shinkasen riders.

Nice hotel. Though it is right above Nagoya station, we could barely hear any noise. The room was nice and spacious. If I must say one thing they should improve, it will be the fact that the staff I interacted with didn't speak English very well. Long queue to have breakfast and not many choices. But in general we enjoyed our stay there and will definitely stay there again if we visit Nagoya next time.

The hotel is best situated at the prime location to reach almost everywhere. Initially i was slightly concerned how to get to the hotel after hopping off the Meitetsu Nagoya station. With the clear instructions along the corridor youwont get lost easily. The room is tidy and clean. Staff are overall helpful, supportive and polite. My special thanks to kurachi, whom I come across is a trainee, who demonstrates the professionalism and enthusiasm assisting us to speak to the travel agent for ski tour who can only communicate in Japanese. It makes our life's a lot easier to get booking done against the website which is largely designed for Japanese . We approachs another staff who is unfortunately not very helpful in answering our queries on ski booking because of her seniority presumably. We should know the customers satisfaction is a holistic feeling on everything
