Free wine tasting! And the alcohol is good indeed. Can pay a visit if time available or after soju castle.

Although the Zuisen Distillery is a small one, it showcases lots of rich history. They will also show you a video of how Awamori Sake is made and how it was re-discovered after the recipe got lost. Before you buy the sake, you can have tasting of all kinds of different flavors. The selection is very good and super delicious.

Nice distillery. English video documentary available on second floor. Pretty much a self explanatory site. They have many aged wine and sake. Some as old as 15 years.

Stumbled upon this distillery on our way to the monorail from Shuri Castle. They provide free samples and I find the sake very refreshing. The sake-infused cake was delicious too! Bought a few in the end.

A great selection of awamori from a historic brewery, friendly and welcoming service too. The area also seems quite nice too.

Factory was not in operation when we visited but the staff were very friendly and invited us to watch the 10min video on the origin of Awamori and the distillery. After the video there was a sampling of 4 diffetemt Awamori spirits. The first 2 were at 30% alcohol. The first was aged 3yrs and the 2nd for 10yrs. The next 2 were at 43% alcohol. The first aged 3yrs and the 2nd for 10yrs, in a clay vat unlike the first 3 which were aged in steel vats. The staff also explained that the spirits are blended from vats of different ages and the label reflects the age of the youngest batch. Still worth the short visit if you're a fan of spirits.
