Historic Exchange Bar @ Sarova Stanley Hotel in Nairobi, a favorite watering hole of Ernest Hemingway and where first ever order of Kenya's locally brewed beer Tusker was served back in 1922, also was the site for Nairobi's first stock exchange in 1954

cocktails are Aceeeeeee! Didn't expect much while the menu is limited, however very reasonably priced! We ordered many out of the menu, and each of them tasted amazing! My fav is the first gin and tonic, very strong grapefruit flavor sour and sweet, as well as the mojito, super strong taste of mint (a bit on the sweet side though). They also serve you a good casava + Yam chips, very cripsy and nice! The exchange bar has a long history as well, the first exchange market in Nairobi back in the days and when the Queen of England came to visit, she's staying here as well.... very old fashioned bar, very classic carpet and chairs. Service is a bit slow but bearable since I'm staying for a long time.....

Beautiful English classy bar which gives you the impression to travel back in time. Going there to grab a drink definitely worth it. Best discovery cocktail of our Kenyan trip is their Negroni 🍊🍸

Rustic, authentic piece of Nairobi history. Such crisp leather you can smell the animal. Wonderful cocktails and great staff. MANY MANY regards to Ken , Philip and the team. Great customer service and etiquette. They also have such in depth knowledge of the city!

The Exchange Bar in the Sarova Stanley hotel still oozes colonial atmosphere, but is quite popular with the more affluent locals these days! It was named after the Nairobi Securities exchange.

A relaxing atmosphere in the heart of the city. Part of the Sarova Stanley Hotel, the Exchange Bar offers a tranquil and swanky feel with the occasional live band if not the regular cool background music. The decor remains true to its history: the site of Nairobi's first Stock Exchange, resplendent with the traders bell that characterizes the beginning of the shares trade. It retains a traditional English feel.

The entrance will intimidate you but I promise you, the items are not overpriced and the attendants are kind and very professional. And the place is extremely beautiful.
